PHOTOSHOOT PHOTO

I have always hated photos of myself, and even more I’ve hated dressing up. I had planned for this shoot to capture the real me - white tshirt, jeans and my leather jacket. The photographer pointed out I should use this even to my full advantage, so, reluctantly, I found an old formal dress and brought it out. I’m proud of this photo because I stepped out of my comfort zone. I did something that made me itch to think about, but luckily the photo doesn’t.

She couldn’t believe she was even doing this. But she could use the points and figured it was worth swallowing her pride and doing something as simple as getting a picture taken. She walked up to the photographer in her clean white t-shirt, tight blue jeans and her leather jacket hanging off her shoulders. She definitely got a weird look from the photographer, as if she should want to dress up like a pretty barbie doll princess like all the other girls in the world. He made comments as he was shooting, attempting to get JB to put on something more sleek and sexy. JB had thought she was going to get off the bench to punch him, but she finally decided to just get it over with, if nothing else to prove she was right. She ran back and got an old prom dress she’d brought with her in the off chance she needed to wear a dress for something at the school. 

She scowled in the first several photos, as she looked over the professional’s photos, but then in the pile was the one that really caught her off guard. It was her - but a different version of her. One she’d never thought would be something she’d like or even be able to see herself in. And she was definitely proud of it.
