Some of the food I enjoyed in London. With my UK sim card and phone plan, I got some perks such as 2 entrees for 10 Pounds @frankieandbennyschichester Pizza and Chicken Alfredo. Also any drink at @cafe.nero for 1 Pound, so I had the Belgian Hot Chocolate. I also checked out @amazonfreshuk, which is an Amazon grocery store you walk in, scan your Amazon QR Code, load up your paper bag with what you like, then walk right out! No cashiers, no lines, none of that! Your credit card gets accurately charged with what you took. I ate my double lunch snack on a bench outfront and took advantage of the UK meal deal program, it was really cool! Finally some fancy 'Cruffins' or Croissant-Muffin if you like, delights found along Picadilly Circus. Die Piccadilly Circus Station ist eine Untergrundhaltestelle für die Londoner Tube. Hier ist eine der Treppenabgänge mit de Bezeichnungen Underground und Piccadilly Circus Station zu sehen.

Der Piccadilly Circus ist berühmt für seine beeindruckenden leuchtenden Werbetafeln, die die Fassaden der umliegenden Gebäude zieren. Einer von zahlreichen Plätzen in London, aber viel lebendiger und voller Energie. Er ist ein beliebter Treffpunkt für Reisende und Einwohner geleichermaßen. Er ist zum Einen sehr gut mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln (Bakerloo- (braun) und Piccadilly-Line (blau)) aus allen Richtungen erreichbar und liegt zum Anderen zentral zwischen den Stadtteilen Myfair, Soho, Westminster und Covent Garden. Chinatown, Carnaby, Buckingham Palace, TKTS oder die Regent Street sind alle fußläufig von hier erreichbar. Vielleicht auch noch (ca. 30 Minuten zu Fuß) die St.Pauls Cathedral. Mein persönlicher Tipp: komm an den frühen Abendstunden hier vorbei und geniesse die Atmosphäre rund um die Aufführungen der Straßenkünstlerinnen. Egal ob eine öffentliche Tanzstunde, ein klassisches Geigenstück, Streetdancer oder einfach nur Leute mit Lust zum gemeinsamen Abhängen dort sind ... es ist großartig.

Einkaufs- und Gastronomieparadies

Die Umgebung des Platzes bietet eine Fülle von Einkaufs- und Gastroerlebnissen. Von sehr guten Restaurants und alten englischen Pubs bis hin zu trendigen Cafés und Geschäften - hier finden Sie alles, was das Herz begehrt. Die berühmte Regent Street, die direkt vom Platz abzweigt, ist ein Paradies für Shopaholics.

Theater und Kultur

In unmittelbarer Nähe des Piccadilly Circus finden Sie einige der besten Theater Londons, darunter das Criterion Theatre und das Piccadilly Theatre. Hop over to Piccadilly Circus, London and you'll see this amazing light display hovering over Coventry Street which leads towards Leicester Square. London's first official Ramadan light diplsay were turned on last week by the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, who described London as "the first major European city to host a spectacular light display to mark Ramadan". During this period, fasting is observed between dawn (Suhur) and nightfall (Iftar) and lasts for 29 or 30 days each year, with the dates varying each year due to the lunar calendar. It is a period of reflection, appreciation, empathy and charity. The fully-recycalble aluminium frames containing 30,000 LED bulbs will be turned on every evening until late April.

80’li yılların sonunda 90’lı yılların başındayken, ilk yaz okulu programımızı Londra’da gerçekleştirmiştik. Bu dönem programlarımıza katılmış eskinin öğrencileri, şimdilerin biricik velileri olan öğrencilerimiz çok net hatırlayacaktır. O zaman internet yok, cep telefonu yok, sosyal medya yok, YouTube yok, video kamera da yok (ki kayıtlara 1997 yılında başladık hala o videolar arşivimizde durur) sadece 36 ve 24 poz alabilen negatif filmli klasik fotoğraf makineleri var (Kabus gibi). İngilizce dersinden sonra Londra’nın kült eğlence merkezi Trocadero’ya koşardık. Burada 6 katlı Sega World vardı. Akıllı cep telefonların olmadığı, video oyunlarının ilkel PC’lerde ya da jetonlu stantlarda oynandığı dönemlerden söz ediyoruz. 5 kat yukarı çıktığımızda karşımıza bir zamanlar uzay istasyonu gibi dizayn edilmiş, şeffaf yürüyen merdivenlerle bol ışıklı ilginç bir yere ulaştırdık. Dijital oyun devi Sega'nın düzenlediği Sega World iki-üç sene varlığını burada sürdürdü. 7 Eylül 1996 yılında büyük umutlarla açılan bu mega eğlence merkezi ne yazık ki kapılarını kapattı ve yerini eski kiracısı Fun Land'a bıraktı. Fun Land bir süre Trocadero'nun ilk üç katında varlığını başarıyla sürdürdü ancak gelişen mobil ve oyun teknolojisine daha fazla dayanamadı.
