So while looking at inspiration on Instagram, I discovered Matthew Roby, a sculpture who displays his work on Instagram under the name; Pickledcircus. Roby creates a range of creatures based on the ideas of aliens, monsters and misfits, taking inspiration from Tim burton, giving his models a gothic and dark side to them, with the majority of his pieces “pickled” in jars. He carefully sculpts his models out of clay and then floats them in coloured water, formaldehyde or resin in jars. His pieces are similar to the outcome I would like from my alien specimen jars.
