Most people have Devour pog memes.
My group? We figured out Devour pretty fast. We can do moooost hard mechanics, that’s not really the problem.
ANYTHING involving just remembering a specific order? Recalling something that happened before our very eyes ten seconds ago? THAT SHIT eats our lunch.
5 head and the sequences of mechanics with rings in Endsinger Ex are a great example of this. Took us forever to get everyone a blue feather weapon.
And now
Now we have P5S
And Venom Surge/Squall.
So I’ve been picking it up faster, and our lead was picking my brain for a way to get people to remember, as he even is also having some trouble with it to call it. He asked me how I remember which is what.
So I tell him. I tell him the truth.
“If it’s Venom Squall you have to be like Squall Leonhart and be a little emo kid in your corner alone, and that means far out clock spots, bait mid, light party stacks. If it’s Surge I just remember to not be like Squall Leonhart.”
Raid Lead says “That…sure is a way to remember it”.
OT says “Is Be Like Squall Leonhart gonna be the call out??”
Lead says “NO”
So anyway that’s why I’m doing one call out in P5S and it’s Venom Squall/Surge mechanics.
It goes like
Lead: LISTEN TO PIERS
Me: CLOCK SPOTS, EMOKIDS!

East Austin Classified as a Rising Austin Neighborhood
This was originally published on our website. To check out more of our content, visit [https://austinelitehomes.com/blog/east-austin-classified-as-a-rising-austin-neighborhood/]
The typical best neighborhoods to settle down in are usually located in the western area of Austin. However, East Austin is beginning to rise as one of Austin’s most up-and-coming neighborhoods. With diverse and deeply loved restaurants and shops, East Austin provides individuality, personality, and a flavor no other area seems to match.
East Austin restaurants are some of the most unique around. Restaurants, such as Hoover’s, Eastside Care, Juan in a Million, Blue Dahlia Bistro, Franklin Barbeque, Rio’s Brazilian Café, and so much more, are all part of the East Austin community. Many of these restaurants have been featured on best restaurants’ lists and other rankings.
Entertainment in East Austin is growing, also. The area is beginning to invest in sprucing up many parks and recreational centers. Events such as Children’s Day Art Park, East Austin Summer Camps, Girlstart Summer Camps, and others are beginning to make way. You can also find endless activities at Peter Pan Mini Golf, Blazer Tag Adventure Center, Texas Tubes, Austin Party Cruises, Skate World Austin, and tons more.
East Austin also has a thriving art community. The community of East Austin celebrates these artistic talents by showcasing much of the art in studios, such as Anastasia Grebnova and Pier Carlo Abate Studios, Javier Lopez Cantu Workstudio, and more. These studios and others display their own art in exhibitions such as at Austin Public Library, Domy Books, HOPE Farmers Market, and more.
Keep a look out for more events and rising talents of East Austin. The community is constantly renovating, changing, and evolving into one of Austin’s best. Be sure to check out more East Austin neighborhoods and homes for sale by clicking on the last “related link” below!

Piers Plays Pugs: Tank Tantrums Two for One
Today’s expert featured a dark knight that, upon my first pre-pull e.diagnosis shield landing a crit, stopped in their tracks, sat down, and typed in party chat that they won’t be pulling while the shield is on because they want their TBN to break.
The dragoon didn’t notice, kept running and pulled, so I followed and the other dps wasn’t long after us. Fun facts, dragoons can tank like champs.
Tank eventually got over it, caught up, and we got through the dungeon, albeit not without complaint from this tank. Never once seemed to noticed that their TBN was consumed before my shields.
Ok. That was nuts, but I see all sorts of general chaos in my roulettes, so no big deal. Shake it off, Piers.
Main scenario roulette, get Prae, no first timers, ok ok. Things seem fine…until we get to that cutscene trigger before the first boss. I cross the threshold first and make the cutscene start, whereupon this tank starts blowing up chat with a rage that will live rent free in my head for the rest of my life.
They told me not to pull.
I said I didn’t???
They said you pulled, that’s my job, all that stuff
I said, I did not pull. We’re in an unskippable cutscene so I couldn’t anyway.
The tank is just full rage now: YEAH THAT’S WHAT PULLING IS DUMBASS
One of the dps said DUDE ARE YOU SERIOUS RIGHT NOW LOL
Anyway the tank was very serious and this arguing continued and a similar tantrum happened before Nero, and one of the dps got to the vote kick before me.
The new war we got didn’t seem to believe us when they asked what happened and we explained.
To be fair, I don’t think I would have either.
Go do these people find me, and why is it only when I’m alone. My FC thinks I’m crazy.

Piers Plays Pugs - Pro Tip
If you, as a Black Mage, stay planted in your leylines despite being in the middle of overlapping AoEs, I assume you know what you are doing and are making a calculated risk.
Don’t ask me “where your rescue was”.
You’re a Black Mage. You have to know what you’re about, son.
If you want to pew safely from a distance, pick up a physical ranged.
Black Mage is about squeezing out one more sweet sweet Fire IV, not about petty things like survival.
Stand in fire, DPS higher.
Let me worry about that last hit point.
Also, I shielded him, dude lived, idk what he was mad about.

Piers Plays Pugs - I’m Not Sure What You Thought Would Happen
MSQ Roulette, land in Porta Decumana. No first timer bonus, no one says new. Nice, something easy before logging off.
Mostly fine, until second part.
Reaper eats every Citadel Buster. For anyone not familiar with the new ARR Ultima Weapon fight, it’s a big line AoE Ultima Weapon fires in a straight line in front of it. Has a cast bar, you can dodge to either side or behind it. Reaper just stands directly in front of it and the AoE takes off about half their health. No movement to dodge.
First time, okay, whatever. Heal.
Second time. Dude please. Heal.
Third or fourth time, there are mechanics happening, and I’m moving. Another AoE goes off before I can get a heal cast.
Reaper hits the floor.
surprisedpikachu.jpg the Reaper goes ??? In the chat.
Raise the Reaper.

Piers Plays Pugs - I Have No Words
How do you, as a dancer, as a physical ranged, as perhaps the singularly most mobile job in ff14
Eat every single AoE in the last boss fight of Smileton
Do not move out of a single avoidable AoE
Die for it
And then get so mad you send me a /tell after the dungeon TELLING ME TO LEARN TO HEAL

My friends
I have a confession. I really like Mathbot. I think it’s an outstandingly clever gimmick in a series of good and memorable raids.
The Mathbot minion has eluded me since Stormblood. I am notorious among my friends for rolling outrageously low at all times and in all places. I am the last to get mounts. I don’t even do maps anymore.
Since the Ridorana Lighthouse is included in the current moogle tome event, I was determined to grind until I got it. I ran it 3-6 times a day, as time permitted. Since event day one. I did the math. 83% of my rolls for the Construct 8 minion WERE UNDER 10.
But I did it
I FINALLY DID IT
FREEEEEEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOOMMMMMM
also yes I’m a hyur atm

Piers Plays Pugs: Quotes from Duty Finder
Someone in a dungeon told me.
Me.
That I needed to DPS.
…
Bro I really don’t know what to say to that. I’m here to shoot things with lasers first and refill your health bar third. What healer are you looking at here? Because it ain’t me.
I’m out DPSing you.

Piers Plays Pugs: I still have no words
I’d just like to ask the ff14 playerbase a favor
I’m spamming fell court of troia on tank for tomes, so if you see me
Please
Do not roleplay as a voidsent succubus at me publicly and without my consent
I am genuinely pretty ambivalent about roleplay in dungeons 99% of the time. I’ll play along in passing, because I’m not here to shit on anyone’s good time.
Except for the white mage role playing as a succubus voidsent who begged me to “save them” and “take care of them” and then wiped the party by rescuing me into a bunch of overlapping AoEs mid pull.
I very quickly became all about shitting on their good time.

Piers Plays Pugs - Tank Tantrums II
Managed to wipe in Tower of Zot, between a tank not using cooldowns and the summoner ripping aggro off the tank and my attention being divided. Summoner was a first timer and I wanted them to live. Fission mailed.
On the way back to the pull-
Tank: Where was bene?
Me: (Tank Name) I am a Sage
A DPS (forget which): Sir this is a Wendy’s
I guess the tank wasn’t amused and just pulled it again. Still no CDs, I ended up rescuing the summoner to me and the tank so tank could retake aggro faster.
I’m stuck between being impressed and unsurprised that we got to the first of the third set of pulls in the dungeon and that tank apparently had no idea what job of healer they had.
