“(The pie) was sweet, as sweet as the little packets of sugar I eat at Dunkin’ Donuts. Sweeter, maybe. More like Log Cabin pancake syrup right out of the bottle the way I drink it if Mom - even for a second - lets it stay out of the counter.

Trying to learn history but absolutely hate knowing where babies come from, even if it's consensual and ethical and they both love and care for each other
Same as trying to learn history and learning about powerful who had people just for that (not necessarily babies)
I am so grossed out. I don't understand why this is/was a thing.
The other day I was on the Wikipedia for emotional abuse then child abuse, and it had some gross stuff I never knew. I didn't read it but, the title and link was impossible to miss when you're skimming the page
This is the darkest post I've ever made on any blog but I'm super uncomfortable rn.
Even learnt a few days ago that a religious heaven thing which I thought was just other sects, turns out it's in my sect too, and I'm just very angry and grossed out.
Yes, it's all ethical ofc, not a problem for allos at all. but that's the problem. All of this is such a big problem for me and I'm so uncomfortable and my day is ruined if I remember. Repression doesn't happen fast enough.
The most recent book I read had the mom tell her implied ADHD kid that if he has a bad thought (impulsive thought to go against the rules which he keeps having and hurting himself and also hurt another student and feels bad about), to think of a good thought for it. (Book: Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key, this post about active thought suppression)
I'll try that. 1 good thought every time I think of any bad stuff. Hard to remember to think of good stuff, but I literally can't do anything else.

Written and directed by Vincent Dormani, and starring Tommi Aleman and Austin Pigza, The Last Stop is a horror short from Buried Hatchet Productions.
Written and directed by Vincent Dormani, and starring Tommi Aleman and Austin Pigza, The Last Stop is a horror short from Buried Hatchet Productions. A young woman in a hospital late at night decides that an elevator ‘out of order’ sign doesn’t apply to her. Nor does she seem to be flummoxed by state of said elevator, that looks like it probably should be condemned rather than just be out of…

La biblioteca del artista: una guía de campo
La biblioteca del artista: una guía de campo

March 2021
I have a few favs from this month starting with the most “oh WOW I didn’t see that coming” which goes to The Wives. The award for “that really scared me” is glady given to The Only Good Indians. I absolutely adored The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires! This read was fast paced and so bloody intriguing that I’m noting Grady Hendrix in my top ten favorite authors. A Woman is No Man is my first read from a Persian author- which I will definitely read more of in the future. The book itself was an eye opener for me and had me yearning to learn more about being a woman in this culture. Between Two Fires had my heart pounding and so I give it the “Dante’s Inferno” award (you’ll see why if you pick this up). I introduced the Joey Pigza series to my oldest son who was so much like the main character. My son loved this book so we continued with the series throughout the years. It saddened me to know The Key that Swallowed Joey Pigza would be the end of Joey Pigza but it was an ending that leaves the door open - just a crack for a new beginning. Last but not least is Darius the Great is Not Ok. I don’t know how to describe this book. It was my last read coming down from a month of readings full of suspense, action, and horror. It’s a good book to explore identity and mental health.
Happy Reading!!

Hey guys! I know I have been gone for FOREVER, I’m so sorry. School has been so stressful and so I had to put you all on hold for a little while. Now I have everything under control and I will be as active as I possibly can!! I have fed the queue and I’m ready to go baby. I found a fun little meme from @theappalachianbookworm so I thought I would spice it up a little bit to update you on what I’ve been up to.
What are you currently reading?
Right now I am reading a few books. For fun, I am currently reading Little Women by Louisa May Alcott. I am going to be honest, it is one of the most boring books I have ever tried to read, but maybe it will get better. I also just started reading Dangerous Dolls of Delaware by Johnathon Rand. I am reading it for my author study in Children’s Literature.
What have you read recently?
I just finished Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key by Jack Gantos. It is a super sweet children’s book about a little boy with ADHD. It brings an amazing prespective for someone who has never experienced ADHD. I highly recommend reading it,it’s a super quick read. I also just finished Macbeth by the one and only Shakespeare. I adored the play and gave me a new-found respect for Shakespeare's plays. I recently re-read Coraline by Neil Gaiman just in time for spooky season.
What do you plan on reading next?
I’m honestly not sure what I will be reading for enjoyment next, send your spooky recs my way! For my children’s literature class, I will be starting The Watson’s go to Birmingham next week (this will be a re-read for me)
