Preface: Having a soft, quiet morning with your lover doesn’t come very often. Which is why you’re going to take full advantage of it and not let him leave the bed until you’re ready.

I’ve bent this man over backwards, forwards; psychologically tormented him, violated him, and romanced him. I think he deserves a little break to feel loved for who he is.

It was rare when Spencer was able to sleep in with you--it was even rarer for him to want to sleep in. Usually, he’s up early to get some stuff done and lets you sleep a few more hours. Not this morning.

When you wake up, you’re greeted by a pleasant warmth. One that feels nicer than the soft, thick blankets covering you. You shift, opening your eyes and blinking away the morning blurriness. Messy tufts of brown hair are faintly visible at the ends of your vision, and you lift your head to stare at its owner. “Spence?” You whisper softly.

“Mm?” He shifts in your arms, slowly opening his eyes to gaze at you.

“Why’re you still sleeping? Not that I mind. At all. It’s just strange.”

“I told you there’s a break with the team. Just for a day or two.”

“Oh. I must’ve been half asleep when you told me. I wouldn’t have forgotten something like that.”

“Well, you were drooling.” He smiles gently and you roll your eyes. “You looked beautiful.”

“‘Looked’?” Your brows raise.

He gives you a soft glower. “You know what I mean.”

“I do,” you chuckle softly and kiss him, reaching your hand up to brush through his hair. “I always think you’re pretty, too.”

He smiles shyly and nuzzles his head into you, groaning softly in contentment. “This is nice.”

“It is. That’s why we should do this every opportunity.” You adjust yourself and hold him closer to you, kissing the side of his head before resting your chin on his shoulder. “I love you.”

“I love you too.”
