ok ok some thoughts on the aggtm adaptation nobody wants!!
emma myers isn’t how i imagined pip but i could see where they’re going and it’s great, but zain iqbal on the other hand, i need a bittt more convincing. i don’t know anything about the guy, but he looks older than i imagine him to be to be honest. i feel like ravi singh gives off this boyish energy and he.. didn’t really give off that energy? AGAIN i know nothing about him (especially his acting, which is the most important thing), i’ve only seen him in that one picture, and i’m ready to stand corrected. i am obviously excited about it, and absolutely am still (mentally because i am too tired to do it physically) jumping off joy that one of my favorite books will be turned into a show!! anyways, bye. it’s almost midnight here <3

So I learnt today that there is a uk and us version of agggtm
And apparently there are some major changes, like how pip lives in the us in like Fairfield or something, instead of little kilton, and there are whole paragraphs missing and lots of her character was changed, like she no longer spouts random facts when she’s nervous and doesn’t appear neurodivergent anymore
And I quite clearly read the uk version bc it was little kilton
But I found that so weird bc they specifically changed it JUST for the American audience, when plenty of books aren’t changed into British English. Like I read books with spellings like “color” and “neighbor” and “mom” so when I get a book that is in British English, even though it’s a bit different to Australian English, I’m like omg!!! Like divine rivals says “mum”
And ana Huang is writing a soccer romance book and she said that it’s being marketed as a soccer romance so it’s not confused with American football, but will be football in European editions.
And it’s like, just mind blowing to me that it’s changed and adapted specifically to American audiences and media

some arospec + aspec hcs
I'm tired of amanormativity, here's some of my favorite arospec + aspec hcs
STRANGER THINGS:
Nancy Wheeler: aromantic lesbian - just. just hear me out. I love lesbian Nance, other people have explained that better than me. as for the aro part, she's very confused romantically. the love triangle is fs stupid as fuck, but Nancy has a really hard time telling if she's romantically attracted to Steve or Jonathan. like, the way she's portrayed as romantically confused, the "PLATONIC OR ROMANTIC???" dilemma, is something a lot of aromantic people experience. Nancy was raised with an idea of who she's supposed to be, of what's normal, and the Jonathan/Steve confusion is also portrayed in a manner akin to the "well, romance is normal, so I guess I must be romantically attracted to this person." confusion many aromantics go through. idk I just think aro lesbian Nance.
Dustin Henderson: pan asexual - space ace vibes but with different nerdy interests than space. you can't tell me otherwise idc.
El Hopper: asexual lesbian - yeah.
Jonathan Byers: arospec (demiromantic?) bisexual - Jonathan expressed a lot of doubt about his relationship with Nancy, saying it wouldn't work out, that they'd end up like his parents, that he was glad to be able to avoid dealing with his relationship. yeah.
OTHER MISC, I'M TOO LAZY TO SORT
Pippa Blackwell (The Goldfinch): aroace - yeah. the 'I just want to be your friend because imagine how fucked up we would be if we were each other's only support system'. yup.
Wednesday Addams (Wednesday): aroace lesbian - I need not elaborate.
I got too lazy to finish this. and ran out of energy, so my explanations deteriorated in quality.

Thanks for the tag @lyssa-ink! Her post is here. I was given whisper, sing, and smile.
whisper ; long live the queen
“How are you two enjoying your evening so far?” “It’s lovely,” Soteria said, a hawk-like smile whispering on her lips. “Your family does a wonderful job every year, Your Highness.” “Thank you. And thank you as well for lending us some of your servants for the food preparation.” “It was the least we could do for this sacred event.”
sing ; once upon a cursèd dream
Once upon a dream, I saw my soulmate. She was, and still is, the most beautiful person with honey-light hair and hazel eyes. We never speak in our dreams—as is the limitation for a soul bond with shared dreams—but I imagine her voice is like that of a nightingale's song. I love her, and my heart screams at the universe for its unfair gift.
smile ; long live the queen
“Hello, Coriander. You look well.” “Thank you, princess. Time has smiled upon you as well.” “What brings you out of Varius?”
Soft tagging @ovect, @nightinthebuilding, @gummybugg, @zmwrites + whoever else wants for dream, soft, and light. Happy writing!

I got this far on one gallon of paint, and I may need a total of 3 on the walls. Painting has revealed so many problems with the walls, honestly. There are places that the paint just wanted to smear more than anything. There are a couple of spots around the trim where the paint just didn’t take at all, which I discovered after pulling up tape. Mom worked on the upper edge while I went around the baseboards, and we’d go from a nice, smooth transition from wall to ceiling/baseboard to “OMFG, what is this gaping pit, and why can’t I angle the brush into it without hitting the ceiling/baseboard?” There are also patches on the walls that look flat for some ungodly reason (I’m using a satin paint, just fyi). If a second (or even third) coat of paint doesn’t fix all of the issues, my hope is that I can just cover them up, or distract from them, by putting up shelving, pictures, or artwork. The two unfinished walls are somewhat distracting, but at least my room feels a lot more cozy, and it’s finally dark enough for me to sleep more comfortably. I’ve had a few migraines since painting, and it has been so much easier to overcome them now that the light isn’t bouncing off of all of the walls. We got halfway through painting when Mom turns around and is like “Oh my gosh! I can see your pink doors now!” It’s such a soft pink that I’d have to stand at very specific angles to even see it before. The vanilla white walls just washed them out, honestly. I’m contemplating painting my trim in a darker pink in the future, but I haven’t decided yet. This room is finally starting to feel like it’s mine, which is helping to make it sink in that we’ve moved. We’ve been here 4 years, now, and it still doesn’t feel real most of the time.

🥕✨🐌
🥕 What’s one area of your writing that you think needs the most amount of improvement?
I think sometimes I write in too much detail. Because I love details. And my brain wants to include every little thing (which is why some of my wips are so freaking long 😅🙈)
✨What’s one area of your writing that you think needs the least amount of improvement?
Generally, I'd say my dialogues are pretty neat 😎
🐌 What is one of your smallest writing goals?
Sitting down and writing at all tbh. My heart and brain craved to read lately and it's been difficult to establish a writing routine again 😅

fuck it, book recommendations based on your favourite driver
+ age rating, summary and rambling disguised as explanation as to why
if your favourite driver is Lewis Hamilton...then i would recommend Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(historical sports fiction, standalone) "Carrie Soto, a fierce and determined retired tennis champion, comes out of retirement at thirty-seven to reclaim her record and face personal challenges, coached by her father partnered with the man she almost opened her heart to, in Taylor Jenkins Reid's novel about the cost of greatness and a legendary athlete's epic comeback."
the connection between this book and lewis is what inspired this whole post in the first place. a comeback story even if you have proven all there is to be proven? trying to beat all the odds against you even time? being an all-time champion AND an underdog? there are so many links that can be made between carrie and lewis not just with their careers and relationships but also what adversities they have had to face. idk but is this like manifesting that lewis is going to be "back" for his 8th wdc?
if your favourite driver is George Russell...then i would recommend A Good Girl's Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(young adult mystery thriller, book 1 of 3) "In 'A Good Girl's Guide to Murder,' Pippa Fitz-Amobi reexamines a closed case, challenging the conviction of Sal Singh for Andie Bell's murder, unearthing hidden secrets that threaten her safety as she seeks the elusive truth."
ah mr wannabe investigator (we all saw him checking out that redbull) but seriously there's something we grussell sprouts must enjoy about someone who seems so straight-laced and uptight be absolutely blatantly unhinged both on and off track. it's just so george to choose literal murder inquiry as a school project, from the ambition bordering on arrogance of believing a high schooler could do what the authorities couldn't to the genuine heartfelt sincerity in wanting the truth and to bring justice for those already deemed outcasts by society. he's OUR good girl that's not-so-secretly "bad".
(main ship are george and alex coded btw like im just saying)
(+ bonus rec bc i am incredibly biased) if your favourite team is Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team (had to google the name for the nth time)...then i would recommend The Green Bone Saga by Fonda Lee
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(adult fantasy, trilogy, best books i have ever read) "The Green Bone Saga is a fantasy trilogy by Fonda Lee, exploring the intricate power struggles and conflicts within and around the Kaul family. Set in the fictional city of Janloon with ability-enhancing jade as it's lifeblood."
my faves with my faves. mercedes aren't a national institution/emotion (ferrari), a team (red bull racing), a villains' lair (ashton martin) or a pop band (mclaren) but a family. a dysfunctional, awkward, barely concealed hot mess of a family, but family nonetheless. chasing victory while trying to survive the horrors of life and each other is the merc way and you will see the same in this trilogy. *toto voice* loyalty!
family is duty. magic is power. honor is everything. <- literally them
if your favourite driver is Oscar Piastri...then i would recommend The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(young adult fantasy, book 1 of 5) "In 'The Lightning Thief' by Rick Riordan, seemingly troubled teenager Percy Jackson discovers his divine lineage as a demigod, embarks on a perilous quest with his friends to prevent a war among the gods."
wow guys i don't know what to tell you except oscar JACK piastri, SON of nicole and chris piastri, might literally be percy JACKSON (i have connected the dots, you haven't connected shit). your guy might have had a former illustrious career in undertaking dangerous quests and asking greek gods to pay child support, you should check.
if your favourite driver is Lando Norris...then i would recommend Magnolia Parks by Jessa Hastings
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(adult contemporary romance, check tws, book 1 of an ongoing series) "In 'Magnolia Parks' by Jessa Hastings, a tumultuous love story unfolds between the beautiful and self-involved London socialite Magnolia Parks and Britain's notorious bad-boy BJ Ballentine, as they grapple with a dysfunctional relationship marked by heartbreak, secrets, and the enduring pull they feel towards each other."
picked this based on vibes, just pure vibes but immaculate ones. the drama, the glitz, the glam yes but also the family, friendship, and love found within the pages of this series. this is british gossip girl. i am telling you there is a vision here people.
(+ bonus review because this might be the only book on this list that has less (3.84) than 4+ stars on goodreads and i can't do him and y'all dirty like that: i personally didn't love the first book but the series really comes together and you truly get invested in these characters and their happiness, actually pretty excited to read more.
also if nothing else it's fun, just some brain popcorn)
if your favourite driver is Carlos Sainz...then i would recommend The Wrath and the Dawn by Renée Ahdieh
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(young adult romance fantasy, check tws, book 1 of 2) "In a land ruled by a murderous boy-king, Shahrzad vows vengeance for her friend's death and becomes the next bride of the tormented Caliph Khalid, discovering unexpected love as she navigates the perilous palace of secrets and stories, torn between survival and the promise of retribution."
wow like you think he didn't step out of a magical retelling of 1001 nights? mhm but let's leave aside the fact i am still not convinced otherwise. carlos this year has shown his insane mega ultra galaxy brain, so i believe the plot of the wrath & the dawn would be something that would resonate with you. the quick wit and guile of the mc as she tries to carry out a revenge plot while trying to not get executed is only comparable to carlos coming up with his own race strategy mid race and cementing himself as the only non-rbr race winner in 2023. wow.
if your favourite driver is Charles Leclerc...then i would recommend The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(historical romance fantasy, standalone) "The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller is an Iliad retelling, focusing on the deep and complex relationship between Achilles and Patroclus."
he has that sadness in his eyes that you only see in tragic greek myths etc etc. i will have to say, achilles walked so charles leclerc could race. *soft longing sigh* il predestinato and aristos achaion, the predestined and the best of the greeks. beloveds born and bathed in golden light. it just makes sense to me.
if your favourite driver is Alex Albon...then i would recommend Beach Read by Emily Henry
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(adult contemporary romance, standalone) "A romance writer who no longer believes in love and a literary writer stuck in a rut engage in a summer-long challenge that may just upend everything they believe about happily ever afters."
i mean alex is a living-breathing romance novel of a man. BUT it hasn't always been sunshine and rainbows (helmut marko if i catch you). so i think any emily henry book but especially beach read captures the ups and downs of alex's journey so well compared to just any ole romcom (...but if i had to give one for the alex enjoyers then it would be Better Than the Movies by Lynn Painter, coincidentally also george and alex coded lmao).
but was it his remarkable drive back to f1 or the recent holiday beach pics that was the reason behind this rec? i guess we will never know
if your favourite driver is Logan Sargeant...then i would recommend Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(young adult fantasy, book 1 of 3)"In 'Howl's Moving Castle' by Diana Wynne Jones, eldest daughter Sophie is cursed to age prematurely, the key to break the spell lies in the enigmatic Wizard Howl's castle. Sophie embarks on a quest to confront the Witch who cursed her all the while unraveling hidden truths about herself and Howl."
"let's bring it in and call it a day - let's look after of you." to "that's my girl" pipeline and vice versa. i know what you are.
but logang (the only one i know frfr) you deserve it okay? a cozy lil fantasy full of whimsy and wonder. tuck in and have some tea and cookies, pookies.
(i wanted to do the full grid but keep the teammates together and i haven't yet come up with something for all of em so there will be a part 2...? hopefully...?)
sources for summaries: thestorygraph and goodreads

Whispers of Tiny Footsteps
Pairing: Pippa Fitz Amobi x fem reader
Baby Fitz Amobi junior inspector Headcannons
Warning: Utter fluff. Pippa Fitz Amobi stealing my heart.
Did not expect this to be so long.
Your heart races as you hold the positive pregnancy test. You’re a whirlwind of emotions—excitement, fear, and sheer disbelief. “Pippa,” you stammer, “we’re going to be parents. Can you believe it?” Pippa laughs, pulling you into a tight hug, leaving kisses on your forehead, your jaw, anyplace she can reach . “I can’t believe it either, love. But I’m so ready for this adventure.”
Pippa can’t stop talking. She rambles about baby names, nursery colours, and parenting books. “What if I mess up?” she frets. “What if I accidentally teach our child Morse code instead of nursery rhymes?” You kiss her forehead, the apples of her cheeks. “Pip, you’ll be an amazing mum. And I promise, no secret codes until they’re at least five.”
Pippa transforms the spare room into a cozy nursery. She paints the walls a soft mint green and hangs fairy lights. “Look, love,” she says, pointing at the crib. “Our little one will sleep here.” Your heart swells. “It’s perfect, Pip” you can’t help but say, bring her close to you, kiss the top of her frigid nose, “you are Perfect. Our baby will just love you”.
Pippa insists on visiting Harrods for baby essentials. She buys the softest blankets, designer onesies, and a mobile that plays classical music. “Our baby deserves the best,” she declares. You chuckle. “Pip, they won’t even remember the mobile.” “But we will,” Pippa replies, her eyes shining.
Pippa becomes a sentinel. She hovers over you, making sure you eat well and rest enough. “No heavy lifting,” she scolds. “And don’t stress. Our baby can sense it.” You roll your eyes. “Pip, I’m not made of glass.” “You’re carrying our child,” Pippa retorts. “You are made of glass” she scolds, moving to cup your jaw, lithe fingers holding your jaw in a firm grip. Her blue eyes staring into yours, “I want our baby to be healthy. I want you to be healthy. So no heavy lifting. If I have to call Ravi to do some heavy lifting I will. I’ve been needing to build that cradle in our room”. You lean your forehead into her chest, trailing your finger down her jaw, down to her neck. “I don’t think Ravi should help build it. After all you know how much I love watching you work with your hands” you whisper suggestively. Pippa blushes, “why don’t I get started on that now.” You laugh as you watch pip fly to her feet, eyes already trailing your figure. Hunger evident in her eyes. It’s only later when your backed up against your bed, a hungry pip laying desperate kisses on your sensitive neck that pip speaks. Her voice muffled by your skin. “Pregnancy makes you so much sexier have I told you that?”. You only blush.
“What about Agatha?” she suggests. “Or Hercule?”You laugh. “Pip, we’re not naming our child after fictional detectives.” “Fine,” she pouts. “But I’m still pushing for Mycroft”. Pippa arranges the nursery bookshelf meticulously. Agatha Christie’s novels sit next to Dr. Seuss. “Our child needs a balanced literary diet,” she declares. “Murder mysteries and whimsical rhymes.”You add a copy of “Goodnight Moon.” Pippa raises an eyebrow. “Is there a hidden clue in there?”
Pippa’s eyes widen the first time she feels the baby kick. “Sweetheart did you feel that?” You nod, tears in your eyes. “Our little inspector is saying hello.”Pippa presses her ear to your belly. “Inspector Junior, reporting for duty.”
Pippa packs the hospital bag like she’s solving a cold case. Extra socks, snacks, and a magnifying glass (just in case). “What’s the magnifying glass for?” you ask. “To examine our baby’s tiny fingerprints,” she replies. “And also to read the fine print on hospital forms.” Oh how you love this woman.
Pippa holds your hand through contractions. “Breathe, love,” she whispers. “We’ve got this.” When the pain subsides, she kisses your forehead. “You’re incredible.” “So are you,” you reply. Pippa is attentive to you, constantly holding your hands, kissing your cheeks. Josh is constantly waiting at the door, victor close behind, anxious to meet his grandchild. Leanne is constantly fretting over you, fluffing your pillow and wiping the sweat of your brow. “Just hold on a tad longer my loves” she encourages. Cara and Naomi come by, they bring board games and laugh over how protective pip is. But you love it. As labor progresses you no longer can have small moments of peace, pain is all you feel. It’s a deep primal pain that fills your veins. You cry, feel tears down your cheeks.
Pip holds you, chases the tears. “I’ve got you my sweet. Deep breathes for me” she says, eyes on alert. You had a history of holding your breathe when the pain got to high. Leanne is close behind, monitoring your oxygen level.
The moment they heard their baby’s first cry, Pippa’s eyes filled with tears. She kissed your forehead and muttered, “You’re incredible, love.” And she meant it. She watched as the tiny, wrinkled baby was placed onto your chest. A mess of pink skin and strong lungs that shook the walls. Leanne had smiled, “just like Pippa when she was born. Lungs made of iron”. “She’s perfect,” Pippa murmured, her voice full of awe. She hovered over the baby, checking her fingers and toes, making sure everything was in place. When a nurse approached, Pippa narrowed her eyes. “Be gentle,” she warned, as if the nurse were handling precious evidence.
“What’s her name?” Leanne had asked.
“Grace Fitz Amobi” Pippa had answered.
Pippa insisted on skin-to-skin contact, her shirt unbuttoned as she cradled their daughter against her chest. Grace’s tiny head nestled into the curve of Pippa’s neck. You watched as Pippa kisses her tiny forehead. You’re going to be brilliant,” Pippa promised. “Just like your mum.”
Josh and Victor were allowed in a few minutes after. Josh with his almost teenage voice had begged to hold her. Pippa had smiled, handing the small bundle into her brothers arms, “hold her gently now Josh” she corrected him. Josh was a natural, hoisting the baby against his chest and smiling widely. “I think I might love grace more than you Pippo hippo” he commented.
The car ride home was nerve-wracking. Pippa drove cautiously, her eyes darting between the road and the rearview mirror, where their daughter slept in her car seat. “We’re responsible for a human life now,” Pippa said, her voice filled with wonder. You laced your fingers with hers. “I’m sure our parents felt the same” you reassure.
Pippa took the night shift, sitting in the dimly lit nursery with their daughter cradled in her arms. She’d read her research papers aloud, hoping Grace would absorb some knowledge. You would tiptoe in, watching Pippa’s face soften as she gazed at their daughter. “She’s got your eyes,” Pippa whispered. “And my curiosity.”
As days turned into weeks, Pippa marveled at their daughter’s development. She’d watch her kick her legs, fascinated by the tiny muscles in action. “Look at her,” Pippa would say, her voice hushed. “When she’s mobile it’s going to be a nightmare”.
Pippa, in her meticulous nature, once put the nappy on backwards. You had discovered it during a change and burst into laughter. “Well,” Pippa deadpanned her cheeks crimson , “I was just testing your observational skills.”
You had prepared mashed bananas for the Grace’s first taste of solid food. Pippa, ever the researcher, decided to taste it herself. Her expression? Utter disgust. “I can’t believe she eats that”.
Pippa introduced Grace to classic literature—board books with titles like “Sherlock Holmes and the Missing Rattle.” You had caught Pippa whispering, “Elementary, my dear Watson. The rattle thief strikes again.”
