Honestly, I would love to live in either Zora’s Domain or Rito Village from BOTW. Both are super peaceful, and they’re my favorite places to hang out in the game!

As for favorite headcanons-

Actually, I’m not sure! I like a lot of them. If we’re going pure LOZ, then the one right off the top of my head is that Pippit is basically Link’s older brother. If we’re going LU as well, probably the HC that Wars comes from a family of tailors and has a bunch of sisters.

Post-game sksw is a setting I've talked about quite indepth on the blog before, but for a quick recap:

Zelda and Link are dating. A lot of skyloft folks have joined in the effort to settle on the surface, but so far only Link and Zelda's house is done. Groose, his goons and Karane are working on building more + some help from other skyloft folks. Pippit cooks for them after a hard day's work and is dating Karane.

Groose was invited by Zelda and Link to live in their house, but has refused to and instead stays at the temple. He says he's looking after it with grandma being gone.

In my hcs Groose, Zelda and Link end up in a poly relationship one day 💛 However the comic isn't about romance so any romantic progression with them is unlikely to show up beyond subtext in the pages.

Legend's life post Link's Awakening is smth I'm keeping fairly vague as I feel the points that matter aren't where they may sleep at night, but where they don't. That'll be explored in the comic, but basically: He's a loner and does not really interact with folks beyond neccesity.

He has a professional relationship with princess Zelda, who sometimes tasks him with places to go do hero stuff at.

Also not sure if this counts but they do visit their Uncle's grave now and then for maintanance.

Mini loves his grandpa who also loves his grandson very much. 🙌 Grandpa struggles to keep up with Mini's intense personality and general unstoppability, but besides that things are good back home.

He spends a lot of time adventuring, guarding and investigating around Hyrule so he can keep the kingdom safe! But he also likes sneaking into the castle to hang with Zelda 😊 They're bestest of friends and get in a lot of trouble together.

In a very subtle way the comic does imply Mini marries into Royalty at some point, but I left it vague so ppl can ignore that if they wanna!

You! Name your favorite Link and say why he’s your favorite. (I say like I don’t already know XD, I’m just going around and asking all my mutual)

Aw fuuuuuuu… I mean, depends on the fic I’m writing? Let’s run with Sky, since it’s him for sure at the moment.

This’ll be a bit long.

I love how Sky had time to question who he was and actually find some answers. No one told him he had to be anything before Fi and Impa gave him a destiny. He just wanted to be his best self. Loves life. Deals with school issues. He’s got hobbies and interests like woodcarving and some mystery sport (soccer? Fencing? Bomb throwing? Loftwing quidditch? Who knows?!)

I love that he starts with a big surrogate family at the academy. They praise him because he’s genuinely a nice kid, trustworthy, hard working, strong and helpful. But they don’t dawn or anything. He’s chill. When he helps others, he also inspires those around him to be their best, like Fletch.

(TBH they kinda rely too much on him… or use him… *cough*Hylia*cough*)

He helps people all over the islands, even Pippit’s “lazy” mom and a creepy toilet ghost (moaning Myrtle, is that you?) All the Links help others, but he knows these people intimately, and the familiarity did not breed contempt.

He’s probably the most “modern” out of the Links. He has a comfortable life. And he left all that comfort behind to go explore the Surface, but not for curiosity. For his bestie! (He has the option of declaring his love for Peatrice too, so he’s got agency to keep it purely platonic, if perhaps secret for a while)

I love how loyal he is to Zelda as his best friend rather than as romantic partner or ruler, going up against the most insane and ridiculous odds. Like, I love my friends and family, but I’m not sure I’d deal well with having to face fire keese, bokos, F-ing Ghirahim (Noooope! I’m out!), let alone having to cut the goopy toes off a giant world-eating slithering black jelly bean just to save them. But he’s like “Yes, obviously I’ll do it! We all help each other.” (Communism poster boy. I will not elaborate)

He’s like the biblical Adam plus Samwise Gamgee. Like, “Oh you fell/need to go on alone? I’m coming with you!” And jumps. And then he finds out he actually can come back up, iirc. Instead of some flawed, fallen Eve character, he finds out his bestie is GOD. And she is just as self-sacrificing as him. (I love their story so much)

Back to Link. He’s got raw talent. (I know a guy in real life like him. He picks up skills quickly, so he’s bored in classes and falls asleep a lot. And he has a simmering rage deep down, that comes out to defend what’s his. As much as the game tries to frame this as a weakness, when they also give him prophetic dreams and a desire for not drawing attention to himself (bullies!) and a sweet but slightly jealous bestie, he’s got plenty of reasons to be sleepy. Nightmares, narcolepsy, staying up late to practice in private, limited downtime for hobbies… let the boy sleep in!

I love how expressive he is! Of all the Links, he’s the most emotive over things that are not food or treasure/items. I like to think he’s more emotionally mature and empathetic, and Jojo’s comic supports this. His first in-story action is to rush to help Time, who was speared, instead of attacking the monster. Later, he’s supportive of Wind’s enthusiasm when others tease him about the childishness of masks, and is the sweetest about teasing Legend for being a bunny. The man’s heart is gold, sturdy but soft too.

And his music! The boy rocks the harp. Musical prodigy too? Who has insanely good footwork and can balance on a tightrope and probably dances better than anybody in Skyloft if he wanted to?!? (No wonder Zelda is jealous.)

Oh, and Pippit calls his bird a red terror, so he’s probably gotten into some shenanigans with it growing up. The divine bird is a delightfully bad influence, and I love it.

I’m sure I could go on, but that’ll do for now. He’s a shield first and a sword second.

I have a question why did skyword and goose decided to become teachers

Well, Groose and Sky are the best flyers in skyloft, along side some peers. But Sky is exceptionally good. He’s talented enough to demonstrate moves and to show how to fly, but he bonded well with his loftwing, so it was easy for him. Groose on the other hand had to work hard on being a talented flyer, so he knows how to teach the kids the drills on how to control your loftwing.. they work well together, but Groose is more in control of the class. But they graduated with high honors in the academy so they could get a good job at the academy (Groose’s honor came since he was top of his class and stuff, he also helped save the world.) so the job opportunities they had was to work at the academy, patrol like Pippit, be a knight in the sky to catch people, all other jobs that they could do instead was customer service at the bazaar. Sky loves the kids and so does Groose so they decided to work at the academy and to teach kiddos how to fly! They love it!

Ah, my “favorite” of the old Aristasian comics! This on was featured, in the modern era, on a Happy Innocent blog post they made! This one is from The Romantic #5, and in this better quality we can see some of the words that make up their world of ugliness.

Some of these words include: Jeans, washing machine, equality, alternative, classless, caring, multi-culture, rock, euro, metres, pluralism, sex, buy, obey, freedom, ecology, rebel, television, money.

It is, to say the least, an interesting hodgepodge of words. Do they hate these things? Are they annoyed that they have to hear about them? What do they have against washing machines? It’s truly a head scratcher of a comic.

Of interesting note is that it is signed by “Pippit”, who we can perhaps assume was Priscilla Langridge, since she is briefly called “Pip”. The art style is very distinctive and you see these little ladies on the iconic maps as well.

Who is your favorite legend of Zelda character? I like pippit from skyward sword! Your comic’s version of him is pretty awesome :)

Pippit is excellent! I love his design (and the cute love letter sidequest involving him in Skyward Sword -- would love to have more silly sidequests like that in the next game).

Hmm that's tough because there are so many great characters! I'm kind of tempted to just reply "All of them."

But I think we all know there's one who is in a league of his own...

Gentle Linkverse scenarios cause its been a rough day

Twilight and Colin sometimes find clay in the waters around Ordon Village. They make little trinkets and attempts at useful things like trinket holders. The other kids like to join sometimes, but their parents dont always let them due to how messy they get.

One of Colin's favourite things was the little goat family he and Link made and ended up coming up with a whole storyline for.

They're all displayed with pride, and Link said he'll bring paint from castle town soon. They shall be a beautiful and colourful family. 💛

The coat Wind has wrapped around his waist is Linebeck's old coat. It's seen far better days and it doesnt actually do much as a coat. Linebeck doesn't really get why Link insisted on taking it instead of letting him throw it out.

He's give the excuse that he wants to practise sewing, and shown off the various patches he's added as proof. Linebeck isn't so sure that's true however.

Trying to figure it out, he fumbled about asking about it in various round about ways. Comedically fell on his butt a few times and got hit by a sign. Yet no answers from Link...

Finally, while nursing the wound on his nose, Tetra walked in and said she'll tell him why Link wanted the coat, in exchange for him to take outhouse duty that week. At first he refused, saying he doesn't care about this THAT much... But as Tetra turned to leave he accepted the deal.

Linebeck struggled to believe what Tetra said as the truth, but couldn't deny it either. She said Link would miss the coat because it reminded him of Linebeck...

Silly kid, he was right here! Who needs an old rag of a coat for that.

He is now secretly working on getting a new excellent quality coat, not for himself but for Link. Why? Er, he just doesnt want to see the kid run around with that thing anymore... Yeah, that's all. Mhm. Tetra why are you smirking. Stop.

Groose, inspired by Pippit's delicious pastries, picked up a book on candy making from skyloft. He's made a few batches of some fairly okay-ish treats, which he showed off to Zelda and Link. He is a bit too nervous to show the others yet... Er, well not nervous! He just... He just wants to make the best batch possible!

He asked for input on what flavours he should try next, and Zelda suggested various fruits they'd found on the surface. Link meanwhile took a moment to ponder things, before offering with that usual smile of his: "Fish?"

After baffled questioning he did admit he knew it wasn't an usual flavour for sweets, but he'd always been curious of the idea...

Groose decided then and there— against Zelda's wishes— That he would commit his candy training on figuring out the perfect fish candy! Don't worry Link, I wont let you down!

Link told him it's really not that important, but Groose had already set his mind to it.

So far? No luck. It tastes awful. Zelda suggested he make them a normal flavour but in the shape of a fish. Groose is now attenpting to make fish flavoured candy in the shape of a fish.

The next few tries did not look like fish. What they looked liked shall not be spoken of, in fact.

He continues to practise, though! And although this goal seems to be doomed to fail, all the trial and error has really made his normal candy making skills improve and FAST. Perhaps when he realises how good he's gotten, he'll finally feel satisfied.
