Sole Crusher/Pirkell: Valid. She wanted to impress her sister, which made everyone except her day 1 crush hate her, and then she sees how her stepdad’s been abused by her mom, plus whatever the hell happens with her and Chloe.

Queen Banana: WTF. I don’t have anything to say about this episode, period. I refuse to even aknowledge this one.

I think Queen Banana can kind of turn valid because like.

Yeah Chloé was being a dick and took over, but she /did/ fund this movie which gave her the rights to decide what movie they were making. Then everyone took her money and ran.

Season 4, Episode 7 - Pirkell (Sole Crusher)

I want to keep a tradition of writing a post about every single S4 episode, but this one is hard to me. I have no idea what to write about it, as this episode is not the most exciting I've seen in this show. I have some thoughts about it, but I have problems with writing them in a language which isn't my first one. Though, I'm going to try like always.

I'm not trying to judge Zoé as a character after this one episode. I need to see her in few more. But it doesn't look like we're going to see her often, since she's in an another class.

It seems she had been living around other spoiled kids like Chloé, if they had trouble accepting her when she tries to be herself, as she's extremely nice and sweet to other people. Good for her that she has moved to Paris and found friends in Marinette's class. Actually André was more interesting to me than Zoé in this episode. We discovered something new about him, his better side. He isn't really a bad father, he spoils Chloé, because he can't refuse her wishes. Although we can't say he is a really good person, as he's still a corrupted politician. But at least he could be a better father for Zoé than any of her birth parents. Her real father is also rich, and probably he completely neglects her, Audrey seems to prefer Chloé now. It looks like Zoé and André are compatible with each other and they can get along well.

I didn't like how Chloé's bad behavior was exaggerated in this episode. I know it was for comedic effect, but it didn't work for me. Especially Sabrina in the closet. It was just awful. I remember seeing somewhere Thomas (probably) saying that Chloé and Sabrina toxic relationship is going to be addressed someday, and I'm looking forward to it even more now.

I haven't watched any of trailers of this episode, because I've been trying to avoid spoilers as much spoiler I could, but I've seen some screenshots from it and I've been really confused seeing the akuma looking exactly like Chloé (and I didn't know who is akumatised for sure before watching it). It's not my favourite akuma design or power, but it makes perfect sense combined with her French name which means "worse then her". I wonder what they are going to do with it in Polish dubbing, because neither French or English pun would work.

I liked they showed another Kwami using their power without a wielder and see its consequences. It seems all the Kwamis know where Plagg is and that they can try to reach to Chat Noir if needed.

The thing which was the most exciting to see in this episode is in the screenshot above... until I've seen Thomas tweet mentioned on the Miraculous wiki. I was sure it shows Tomoe Tsurugi when she was younger, but Astruc said she's just a random character. Unless he's lying. It's hard to believe they made a model of character that resembles Kagami so much, while it could be one of the background characters if she was supposed to be someone irrelevant. That's suspicious. So or Thomas tries to troll us, or the show itself. The first option is definitely more likely. ;) Tomoe being an actress in the past would be very interesting and it would link her with the Bourgeois family.

Pirkell (I like the French name of akuma much better, because of the pun) won't be among my favourite episodes, but Queen Banana looks much more interesting, so I'm looking forward for the next one! :)

Some differences I found between the English dub and the French dub (part 3)

One more detail that I’d want to talk about: transformation phrases. In the French dub they’re the same for all Miraculouses: “[kwami’s name], transform me!” and detransformation phrase is “Detransformation”. It means that all a Miraculous holder has to know to transform is kwami’s name. In the English dub all transformation/detransformation phrases are different, which is good and interesting, but at the same time it makes so many fans complain about non-existent plot holes (I’m still seeing plenty of posts like "how did that or that Miraculous holder know what to say to transform or detransform?" in social medias) and even develop a theory that the butterfly miraculous was meant to be used for evil because there’s a word “dark” in its English transformation phrase.

Now can we talk about names and episode titles?

Nino’s little brother’s name is actually Noël and not Chris. ("Noël" means "Christmas" in French).

Sole Crusher – Pirkell (derived from Pire qu’elle – Worse than her)

Cat Walker’s French name is Patte de velours, which means “Velvet paw”. This hero name doesn’t hint his model career (I saw some people claim that Adrien shouldn’t have come up with a hero name which could've easily given away his secret identity), it’s more about his gentleness.

Lila’s name in French is pronounced as Lee-lah and not as Lie-la, which means her name doesn’t include the word “lie”, no matter how many fans would want to believe this.

Trivia: the name of this episode in French is "Pirkell" which sounds the same as the French "Pire que'elle" which literally means "Worse than her", and that is the design of the akuma!

I've hated Sole Crusher / Pirkell a lot.

The episode was basically an overexaggeration of Chloé 's bad character pushed to the extreme while at the same time acting like all her character moments from end s1 through s3 never happened. You would see her talking like she's even more soulless and worst than her season 1 self.

Then there's the moment when she ran into Paris and into Marinette's house and sacrificing every people on her way to save her own skin. Add also the moment when she stays "bad person mode" and keep saying evil stuff to giant Akumatized Zoe, who is pointing to yet not be 100% evil yet to show "Look how Chloe is horrible and worst that her akumatized sister".

Also Zoe. Comfirmed that her 1st strongest character point is being the remplacent of the irredeemable Queen Bee. And to establish that the quickest way what is better than making Zoe an introduction so the viewers immediately pity her for her sad backstory, how nice she is, confronting and comparing her to her evil sister so she gets preferred instead.

I probably would have liked Zoe in another verse, if the all Chloe/Queen be entire promotion thing never happened. If they never had any "Battle of Queens episodes" in the first place. If Asturc never had made me a Chloe fan with Season 2.

Now I just hate it all together, just to hell with Bee Miraculous plot points this miraculous is ruined to me... Even more now that they want to force people to love a character that comes at a very bad timing in the story. Sometimes I see Zoe's introduction writing as coming from a very badly written fanfiction.

(Current season 4 is actually Marc Anciel fanfic, but then people point out to him how they dislike it after reading it. He rages quit and becomes Reverser again /jk)

If I would want to get better and make peace with myself and the show, it would probably mean making grief of Chloe's character and move on to continue the show... But I don't want this honestly. Plus outside of all this Bee Miraculous mess there are others points of the show that exhaust me.

I'll think another time of how I'll reconcile myself with what I thought was my favorite animated series, that I still somewhat like, that shared my nationality and the city I live in. (International fans try imagine the everyday immersion it was)
