I've been replaying Horizon ZD in preparation for the PC launch of Forbidden West recently. I also want to 100% my achievements and I'm about 2 hours from doing so.

I had some of Sobeck's journal entries finish recovery just now and they're talking about how much she just absolutely despises Faro with all of her being. And rightfully so.

But I can't help but having this amusing image in my head where Sobeck is waiting for him in hell and ready to beat the everloving shit out of him. Like hitting him over the head with a chair kind of beat down with a scowl and he's cowering there like "Jeez Liz, can't you see it from my perspective? I was helping the future humans."

I dunno this was more funny in my head but hopefully somebody else sees it.

Y'know I keep seeing so many videos about former fans destroying their Wilbur soot merch or throwing it away. And with good reason!

But it makes me feel a little bad and like I'm not doing enough to have relegated the only thing I own, a Lovejoy shirt that was purchased for me by a friend, to my pajamas.

Like I have a desire to "perform" and trash/throw away/thrift it... But the shirt is also a reminder of that friendship. It being a symbol of that friendship means more to me than the content of the shirt.

#to be fair I've probably lost this friendship because I left my job last month #but all the same it means a lot to me outside of wilbur #they're a very nice person and went out of their way to get me a shirt at the concert they attended #and somehow managed to guess my size when I didn't answer my phone (which is very hard for people to do) #it's a weird dichotomy because I know I don't have to perform #but I feel like I should #i dunno. I hadn't heard of soupforeloise until Minecraft SOS started and I'm very happy to have found her through fWhip and the others!

The editing style, her humor, her chemistry with the other creators, how did I not know about her before? I'm definitely sticking around on her channel for the foreseeable future.

OK. I don't like the changes that were made to the Mechanist's storyline, but I respect it. I'm interested to see how it plays out and if the live action will follow a similar story to that of the og series where Sai is a sellout to the fire nation for his son's protection.

My big thing is that in the og series, it was essential for Aang to continue to process his grief at the next air temple and removing the Mechanists from that position makes me question if Aang will be facing that grief enough to continue the story in a way that follows the og series faithfully and helps him process being the avatar in a meaningful way. I am only on episode three, but desire to see that in this adaptation.

I also question why they chose to put the freedom fighters in Omashu. While it makes sense for the direction the third episode went in, my initial knee-jerk reaction was "what the fuck are they doing in Omashu??" I do like how they made the group larger and gave a little more depth to Jet's character. The other main freedom fighters that are featured in the og show I think are also well portrayed (I do question Pipsqueak's costuming but go off). I'm interested to see how their storyline fits into this new version of the story.

I do however like the fight between Zuko and Aang. I find it to be a welcome change from Zuko simply chasing Aang to no avail in the first season and gives both characters more depth and shows off their fighting well.

Additionally, we stan Cabbage Man 100%. Cabbage Man is perfect, and I hope he continues to show up.

So far at three episodes in, I don't hate the new adaptation. But I don't think I like it either. I do have questions about many of the choices made so far and how they fit into this new version of the plot. I'm not particularly liking some of the acting choices (Zuko isn't angry enough and Mai isn't deadpan enough for my liking (yet?), Sokka's casting choice and acting direction is still irritating the fuck out of me, and some of the hair/makeup/wardrobe choices are... interesting.)

I'm going to keep going and probably watch the whole season so I give it a fair shot. (Unless things go south real fast)

But tldr: it's OK. It's not great and I wish that Netflix hadn't run off the og showrunners because I think it really could have used more direction from them so far, but it's not bad per se. It's just ok.

Fun fact: I saw Fall Out Boy for the first time yesterday! I had a fantastic seat and am visible in the show's photo with the band! Being in a photo with my all time favorite band has me living my best life.

I traded kandi with (and gave some away to) other fans which really helped me connect with them!

Fall Out Boy shows are 110% worth every bit of hype they have and I am so so happy I made the decision to see them. If you're on the fence, do it!

Ok, something I do like: Kyoshi!!

I absolutely love that she helps guide Aang and defeats Zhao. I think that was a great choice.

My only critique is that I wish that the direction she had been given led to more of a powerful voice to better wrap up the character. But outside of that, A+

Ok so we all heard the music in the background of I Am Clancy, right? Lots of people are theorizing it's a teaser of new music from the album and I believe those theories are correct.

The better thing is that this clip at the end of the video where Tyler says "I am returning to Trench. I am Clancy." sounds like such a high energy, club ranger song. I hope that this kind of song appears on the new album and is set to a music video of Clancy wrecking havoc in Dema.

If people are still looking for a Lovejoy replacement (like I was a week ago) I highly recommend the band SOAP! Their sound and general vibe is similar to Lovejoy without the Wilbur in it.
