OOOOOH okay so I actually don’t think I have too many, because once I get an idea that I get really excited abt, I’ll write down the concept in my notes app and then start it asap, OR I’ll just do it in one sitting.

I’d say the most recent one that got published that I had thought about a concerning amount was the kuroo bday fic I wrote for 2023!! I got the idea and I had to start it immediately. It’s not a weird one tho I don’t think.

Currently I’m thinking of this one specific scenario for kaiser from blue lock that I really need to write, but again it’s not that weird…

honestly the weirdest ones I’ve had will never see the light of day because they’re. so extremely self indulgent back from when I was in high school. Peter Parker and PJO crossover with a self insert type of self indulgent. I wrote three versions of that during quarantine and never finished any of them LOL

(They’re still sitting in my notes app to this day and I reread them sometimes)

I also have multiple hyper-specific haikyuu fics sitting in my notes app from 2020-2021 that I’ve been debating giving snippets of on here. I’ll never finish them bc I personally don’t like writing the high school setting anymore, I usually stick to the time skip, but they’re a lot of fun imo.

I'm doing okay, I have a job interview tomorrow so I'm currently shitting myself but otherwise, everything's you know plodding along. How are you, my dear?

1. What is your favourite book and/or book series of all time?

Probably Percy Jackson and the Olympians, I read them in 2020 for the first time and I've reread them multiple time since and I'll probably read them to my kids when I have them.

10. What is a book that you own more than one copy of?

This is hard because I collect books (especially if they're my favourites) so there are a few that I have multiples of Lord of the Rings, Eragon, Dune etc. but my favourite has to be Red, White and Royal Blue. I own a paperback, the Book of the Month hardcover, the union-jack special edition and this one by Dazzling Bookish Shop

17. What is your favourite book that contains an LGBTQ+ character?

Another hard one but I haven't stopped thinking about The Sunbearer Trails by Aiden Thomas since I read it in January. The main character is trans (plus there are a lot more LGBTQIA+ characters), the story is a mix between PJO, The hunger game and is a Mexican-inspired fantasy:

“Only the most powerful and honorable semidioses get chosen. I’m just a Jade. I’m not a real hero.” As each new decade begins, the Sun’s power must be replenished so that Sol can keep traveling along the sky and keep the evil Obsidian gods at bay. Ten semidioses between the ages of thirteen and eighteen are selected by Sol himself as the most worthy to compete in The Sunbearer Trials. ok so final thoughts on percy jackson and the chalice of the gods. my opinion hasn’t really changed, i enjoyed it and it wasn’t bad but it wasn’t the same you know?

also the timeline feels so funky now. like the original series feels like 2006-2012 ish but they put tiktok into the percy jackson universe and it’s criminal because as far as i know tiktok didn’t get popular till 2019-2020 so it doesn’t line up anymore. something i really enjoyed about the og series is there aren’t really any pop culture references so it doesn’t date its really based on the vibes and also it makes it more timeless so it makes it more reread friendly. like i just feel really weird that tiktok is in the pjo universe.

It’s been a couple years since I’ve read the PJO series but I will always love clarisse. I’d have to reread in order to Really get my thoughts into order, I loved her but she was never a Big character in my life until my reread back in 2020. Her song in the Lighting Thief musical has danced on and off my isabel playlist 7 times and is my favorite track on the list. Ultimately I have less opinions than you probably hoped for but she was one of my favorite book characters and I think if I reread nowadays I’d have a lot to say about her.

From what we’ve been shown so far I’m a little disappointed with her tv casting though. I have no prior experience with Dior Goodjohns work so idk how hard her acting might go, so no disrespect to her. Right now I’m just kind of bummed they didn’t cast a heavyset broader girl for a character described in the ‘buff warrior tomboy’. I can’t think of a good way to say this so I’m going to stop trying and just say it badly, I’m bummed that Goodjohn is so pretty.

Clarisse’s appearance is. Idk. Something really unique about her. She’s maybe one of the only female characters to never be called attractive. She’s plus size, muscular- not just aethletic, but muscular, she has a bunch of scars, and her hair is stringy and choppy. I like that she’s not a stunning girlboss. I like that she snarls. It’s really nice. Clarisse with her squashed broken nose and rugby player build and harsh bully personality XXXL clothes just feels emptier when portrayed by someone who isn’t any of those things.

I’m going to wait until the show is out and I can see how Goodjohn is in the role before passing judgment. I don’t want to say something I’ll regret. She could do amazing, but for now I’m just sad Clarisse isn’t fat

I reread HoO ~2020 and I def recommend to stick to PJO. HoO sucks and it puts you in a bad mood right after the high of rereading the first series.

of 2020?? defs chain of gold by cassandra clare. why, you ask? idk im just a bitch for the shadowhunter books 💀💀 nah jokes there are defs reasons, but me already being in love w the shadowhunter universe definitely plays a major part. ummm fav book of 2022 ?? on earth, maybe. it's not a '22 book but i didnt read it until this year i think. tbh i'm not sure when i read it AHHA (i just know i havent read much this year sigh)

the last hours trilogy, my beloved, by cassandra clare. cordelia carstairs <3 <3 <3 BUT UH too many shadowhunter books so uh instead. throne of glass series by sarah j. maas! not only the main protag, but also lysandra ! defs grew on me.

urusla k. le guin's the left hand of darkness!! it's scifi (and fantasy?? idk) and there's a lot of world building and new terms that can be really confusing (but there are a multitude of lists online w the different terms and definiitions) but the concept and the ideas/social commentary is >>> it was one of my favourite texts to study in school, and now that i'm older and have studied it, i really want to reread it again! (it was a yr12 lit text so.. i'm not really that much older but still AHAH)

thg and pjo were the big ones (i also reread bits and pieces of each hoo book lol). also to further the "books i loved in 8th grade" kick i seemed to be on, i also reread VIII (HM castor), she-wolves (helen castor), and in a heartbeat (loretta ellsworth). and pride and prejudice, a classic :)

hmm this is tough because i don't reread A Lot, but i'd say i've read PJO the most since it's also one of the earliest book series i've read! last time i reread it was 2020 & i can see myself rereading around the time of the release of the adaptation.

Lighthousekeeping by Jeanette Winterson! i love stories about stories & storytelling. it's about an orphaned girl named Silver, who was taken in by the lighthousekeeper Mr. Pew. it also navigates the ways a story can affect you & i really like how the narrative sees itself as important if that makes sense?? anyway, the author was also inspired by Treasure Island so that should tell you why i enjpyed it so much 😅 here's a quote that made me insane:

so chiron had ordered grover to do whatever he could to bring thalia back to camp, specifically thalia, but because grover tried to bring luke and annabeth with them it caused the events of half blood hill. annabeth says she wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for his decision. thalia was twelve then and five years had passed by tlt; she’d be past sixteen.

mmmmm au where grover does what chiron says and luke and annabeth are dead because of it and thalia learns chiron ordered grover to rescue only her because of the prophecy and because luke isn’t around for kronos to feed on he instead uses thalia who is simmering with her anger over her lost family and is current prophecy child candidate. would love to see it
