Tempest and Jason Grace are such an underrated Pegasus/demigod duo.

It's the fact that Jason claimed Tempest as his hourse/companion in the very beginning of his journey, and basically died falling off of Tempest's back just hits hard.

It's the fact that Tempest also went searching for Jason's body and brought it back to Malibu.

It's the fact that Tempest flew off after his master's death, never to be seen again.

Jason being buried at Camp Jupiter is something I don't like.

Because that's not his home.

When Jason came back he found that no one had searched for him.

No one had even tried too.

Jason was made Praetor, put on a pedestal for being the son of Jupiter.

He was something to be admired from a far.

Never loved up close.

The person he considered his closest friend replaced him with the first person who walked through the door.

Jason was put on blast for being "unroman like" at the same time a Greek was made Praetor.

And this Greek low and hold becomes one of his most trusted and dear friends.

It would be so easy to hate him, having so effortlessly taken everything Jason had once hold dear.

But Jason bumps fists with him and smiles.

And he never regrets that decision.

Jason joined the lowest Cohorts to spite the higher ups.

To make sure they were given better treatment.

But nothing ever came from it and no one even thanked him for trying.

Jason was a stranger at Camp Half-blood.

He was something wild, werid and everyone knew just by looking at him that he didn't belong here.

He never slept peacefully in the Zeus cabin.

His first home is one he was too young to remember.

His second was not a sanctuary but a test.

Lest he forget that showing even a trickle of fear would get him killed.

But Jason has a home.

It's the twinkle of mischief in Hazel's eyes.

It's the smile on Percy's face that let's you know trouble is not far behind.

It's the focus on Frank's face when he aimes his bow.

It's the furrowed brows of Annabeth as she deciphers a new puzzle.

It's the tapping of Leo's fingers as he tinkers away.

It's the determination of Piper as she faces a new obstacle.

It's the soft eye roll of Nico.

It's the arms of Thalia as she embraces him once again.

Jason's home has never been a place but the people his heart has touched and who have touched him back.

He belongs in the breeze, the same breeze that blew through the Argo II and accompanied his friends the day they all met.

A wandering breeze, free in a way he never was in life.

And from their he can live forever in their memories.

Not alone in the camp that never truly took him back.

I’m reading the second book of toa now and my fav thing so far is how through the apollo thoughts we get to know about other gods

like how apollo thinks that dionysus have a lot of bad habits but easygoing and cheerful are still his main traits

or how he describes ganymede’s face when he pours wine to zeus meaning that it’s not smiley or generous at all

or how he describes that hermes prefers sitting in the end of the sun chariot when it is a bus (because the coolest guys and hooligans always occupy those places and that how hermes presents himself)

reading this I feel like I’m peeking at the gods because that info is not what they usually share with demigods (for obvious reasons)

so it feels very nice and even intimate how apollo reveals smth that can help us to look at “real gods” (I dare say how painfully human the are) + how apollo sees other gods so we can see his gang friends (dionysus and hermes) and who’s he despises (like zeus or ares)
