✨Pokemon Card Paintings✨

Materials Used: Himi Gouache,Pokemon Cards

So I’ve been seeing these repaints all over the web and I’ve always wanted to try them!! So here’s a few of the ones I’ve made with cards from my own collection!

First up we have Beldum, this was the first one I finished, annnd quickly realized how my paint built up. There were alot of strokes, which made it hard to paint ontop of my basecoat. Blending was a bit of a pain, because when I used any paint or water the layers underneath would start to tear up(as gouache does lol) BUT! For my first attempt I really like how it turned out!! I think the cartoony rocks fit really well, and mesh well with the original card style!!

Next was Rockruff! I actually don’t have a duplicate of the next few cards, but they’re newer so I felt less bad about painting them. I had alot of trouble figuring out what to do for this card’s foreground, since Rockruff is in the upper right corner.

I think in the end it turned out alright!!! I think the sharper blue lines on the snow piles helped tie the piece together, but I might try to use less next time!

I do have more cards I’m working on as well, it’s just taking me longer to finish between artfight prep and other art projects!! I’ll try to post the card repaints in batches of two so it’s not just one card haha.
