Can somebody who knows more about botany (and history maybe? idk??) tell me why these two flowers:

Saussurea Obvallata and Epiphyllum Oxypetalum,

are linked/confused with each other so much so that even google can't get it right?

the only thing they seem to have in common is sometimes they have the same common name, Brahma Kamal. Even though I'm pretty sure that namesake is more for S.O. which grows in India and E.O. is native to Mexico and also more commonly known as Lady/Queen of the Night.

If anyone knows why, I'm begging, please tell me!!

Hey botany tumblr someone please tell me why the water turned blue when I dipped my rose in it. Like it was a plain bowl of water and the rose is dead and dry as hell and I dipped it in water and then like. It looked like ink leaked out of it and now the water is tinged blue what the fuck

Hey Plant Tumblr does anybody know why my cactus is going pointy at the top like this

I've had similar things happen with like echeveria, but this is new. I haven't changed anything; looking at him closer, he's a bit under-watered, but the light is the same as ever. He made it all the way through quarantine just fine completely untended, so I'm not sure why there's an issue now.

I genuinely don't know how to look this up because I inherited most of my plants and have no idea what they are. Typing "why cactus pointy?? No not him spines him hat" into Google didn't seem productive

wassup weenersquad i’m user v0rekeith and today’s no-drug herbal bowl is lavender (lavandula agustifolia), echinacea (echinacea augustifolia DC), and common mullein (verbascum thapsus). notably, lavender is a good calming agent and echinacea and mullein have soothing benefits— echinacea soothing your general system and helping your immune system, and mullein being soothing for your lungs, surprisingly enough! it isn’t a mood altering mix, just sort of smooths any aches and pains in my opinion. i’m low on the great reliever rn so my limited knowledge of herbal remedies has been quite helpful :]
