Hi everyone! I hope you are having a lovely saturday today, wherever you are. Of course, if it's past saturday when you read this, I hope that day is lovely, too! Today seems as good as any to roll out an idea I've had brewing for some timeβ¦
Weekly thread palettes! Even if I don't have a WIP or finished project to show you all, I'll have a weekly post (which will be every Saturday, timing may vary) to inspire you and get those creative juices flowing! The series will be called Play of Colors, and is a play on my last name, Schiller, which in fact translates literally into "play of colors!"
Fun fact, schiller is also a mineral property, seen in stones like labradorite, sunstone, and moonstone. It's the shifting play of light just beneath the surface of these minerals. I chose my last name a few years ago, and when I learned that Schiller translates to "play of colors," I knew I had found the perfect surname. An artist's name. I think there's a lot of power in that, and wanted to honor it in my work.
I hope you enjoy this series of palettes, whether you use the thread colors to stitch something, are inspired to create in another medium, or simply appreciate the aesthetics of the colors together. So, without further ado⦠let's get started!
From top to bottom, and from left to right, the colors depicted are:
309 -- 729 -- 597
814 -- 561 -- 3816
3371 -- 433 -- 3863
All threads used in this series are DMC six-strand cotton embroidery floss. I'll be using the #playofcolors tag for these posts!
May inspiration find you, today and every other day! π
