been going down a rabbit hole of golden age fics and this is my take on the nightlight design tee hee (I love him with all my heart and soul)

also it’s my personal head canon that nightlight was a past life of Jack’s and can access his star boy powers in life/death situations?? Idk but wouldn’t that make a cool future scene where jack can access past PAST lives’ memories and just see his cool space protector self like

Is it normal for Halsin to retain the she-bear scars out of wild shape?

(I went back to look at that scene, because his bear form doesn't have the scars. I thought maybe that meant he wasn't in wild shape when he got them. But he wouldn't tell a straight up lie like that.)

Anyway, keeping scars from his wild shape, werebear Halsin?

Oh I am 100% a werebear Halsin Truther

Evidence: Druids are fully in control and themselves when they are in their wildshape. Halsin isn't. He even warns that as the bear he will not be able to hold back and suggest you not bring him if you want subtlety.

Druids are able to control their transformations. Halsin isn't (romance, etc)

Druids understand languages they know in normal form while in wildshape, because you specifically "Assume the hape of" the animal, it is NOT polymorph. With Halsin in the goblin cage, you have to use speak with animals in order to talk to him.

He's got his own special Wildshape ability that allows him to transform into a cave bear. Circle of the Moon druids normally can only wildshape into a polar bear.

His cave bear form even has a different attack option than regular bear.

Tge cave bear wildshape for Halsin is placed in the “common” tab instead of “druid” tab. Why? Because it's not his druid ability is because

So, whether it's because he helped him out big time a while ago, saved his life, or trained him, Danny holds Nightwing in high regard. He's a hero he had always looked up to for his morals, skills, perseverance, kindness, and the hope that always seemed to come with him. All of that solidified when he met him in person. The soft yet firm hands when correcting his stance, the genuine and proud smile when flawlessly executing a move after hours of practice, the sparkling gleam in his eyes when listening to him plan a prank, and the hearty laughter that made him throw his head back when he agreed to join in later. Warm and comforting hugs when he needed a shoulder to cry on, a soft chant in an almost forgotten language, a light kiss on his forehead just before falling asleep. Danny had grown fond of the hero who had cared for him like an older brother. Danny had loved him. No, he still loved him, no matter how unlikely it was that he would see him again; Dick had earned a permanent place in his heart.

That's why, when he's suddenly summoned to a dark cave illuminated only by the toxic glow of a giant pool of contaminated ectoplasm, only to look down and see Nightwing with his chest and torso wide open, bleeding out in the middle of a complex summoning circle, an eerie old man chanting in a language not meant for the living just outside the circle and the dome covering it all, and various living heroes screaming and crying, pounding on the dome and hurting themselves in a desperate attempt to reach their friend-brother-son…

Danny goes absolutely wild.

I think we kinda underestimate the fact that Stede is putting up with Jack solely for Ed. He sees this guy that he does not like, right from the start—who insults him and mocks him and tries to divide him from his crew—but this guy is Ed’s friend, he thinks, and Ed wants him to try. So Stede does. And he puts up with A LOT. Jack escalates his meanness and his cruelty, and does not stop mocking Stede to his face and to his crew, and Stede keeps quiet about it because we see what happens when he talks.

Then Jack really makes his intentions known—and I don’t think anyone addresses how sexually violent his language about Ed is, or how invasive he’s being way before he pisses on Stede’s boots. That scene is not just driving a wedge between Stede and Ed, but pretty expressive of how Jack thinks of Ed and how predatory Jack is.

Saying that Stede is in some way responsible for being bullied because he doesn’t tell Ed or Jack to stop really misunderstands how things escalate and how Jack has deliberately trapped Stede in a situation where he can’t talk and be believed. Stede is a victim here, and so is Ed. Stede absolutely knows what’s happening; the only thing he can do with Ed is to make it about their relationship instead of accusing Jack.

God. Fuck. I just remembered... based on what Joker said in Dark Days about how the metal called to him when "he wasn't himself" (I have to assume this means his amnesiac era bc he was talking about how he died and then didn't) and based on how the cloning machine thing works and Batman's reaction after he came back... Joker probably remembers their encounter on the bench in #48 but Batman doesn't.

Please allow me to rant for a moment.

I was doom scrolling on tiktok, as you do, earlier today and came across a video comparing Genshin Impact characters to characters in Reverse: 1999, specifically on POC/representative characters. I enjoy both games but do prefer R1999 when it comes to that specific category of representation.

Anyways, I decided to look at the comments and saw this persons comment

Before I say anything else, please don't go and bother this person for their comment if you find it. Their comment just sort of irritated me and I want to talk about it.

This is the tan skin tone they are referring too

These are the characters they're talking about

These are the darkest characters as of current in Reverse 1999. Do they look tan to you? Sure, Centurion is lighter, but she is not tan.

And let it be known, tan does not mean white, I'm sure there are plenty of different ethnicities that aren't white but have tan skin, or one could be mixed; that doesn't take away who you are either.

And Genshin, while yes having a bad representation of POC, does still have black characters. The most notable being Xinyan.

She is a bit lighter, and ashy even, but she is still some of the best representation in Genshin that we have. Not to throw out the other POC in Genshin such as Kaeya, Candace, Cyno and more to come I'm sure.

And, might I remind you that representation is not all about the color of their skin. Yes, it is important to show people of all colors, but not every culture that isn't represented is shown. Many characters in R1999 speak their own language aside from english, even with the english voice pack.

Queer/trans and disabled people also fit in the category of representation.

Hoyoverse, the company that makes Genshin, has a history of making canonically queer characters even if it gets them in trouble. And in Genshin there are a lot of queer coded characters such as Alheithem and Kaveh, Yae Miko and Ei, and many more.

When it comes to Reverse: 1999, they are extremely good in this area. Not only do they have canonically queer characters, they have canonically trans characters too (such as The Fool, who in Nonbinary/agender).

And, they have characters from all around the world, different countries. And yes some characters have harmful stereotypes in their designs, I won't deny.

And, if you want to be technical, Nick, Apple, Door, and even Pickles may be counted as representation too.

Reverse: 1999 is better when it comes to showing representation in all ways possible (again, even though it can be hurtful). And while Genshin does have representation, it's not always that good.

Anyways, I just wanted to talk about it. It was on my mind all day haha. Sorry for my yapping, I'll get to work on more fics soon :))

El velocista, Flash, yacía inconsciente junto a ellos, con un charco de sangre cada vez mayor alrededor de su pierna y una fractura expuesta a la vista. A unos metros de distancia, su protegido temblaba en el suelo de furia y dolor, tratando desesperadamente de liberarse de las ataduras mágicas que lo sujetaban y resonaba con una sensación muy familiar . En un rincón, casi como si quisiera que las sombras los cubrieran por completo, Batman se aferraba a un Robin inconsciente y ensangrentado como si fuera un salvavidas. Mientras otra gota de sangre caía de su boca al suelo, Danny notó a la última persona en la habitación: a un par de metros del suelo, frente a él, su hijo menor flotaba de espaldas a él. He allowed his boots to make a delicate sound as they touched the ground, landing softly while the portal behind him finished closing. All eyes turned toward him.

"Us" from Hiroshi Kitadani (latest One Piece opening) has its japanese name written in hiragana: あーっす！ and I was like... but if its "us" which is an english word, shouldn't be written in katakana? like アス? well my theory (i'm not a 100% sure) is that it is probably cause they want to make it sound like "明日" or "あした" or "あす" (asu) that means "tomorrow" (one of the formal ways)... and it's even better if you know that the first kanji there (明) comes from "dawn" and the other 日 means sun!

Dream save us us Aasu aasu aaasu!

edit: I checked Binks no Sake's lyrics. Indeed, they use "asu" as tomorrow too 😭💖

like honestly i love it so much that William Solaire, king of the Solaire clan, over 500 year old vampire was like “hmmm you know what? while i have no clue about the severity of what Quinn did to you, i think you deserve to go a little apeshit on him. and i am willing to pay a good amount of money for you to be able to go apeshit.”

Are you currently asking constwnt questions on what to do? Wanting exact and specific details on how everything works?

Well, I'm here to quickly tell you that you are overthinking shifting. There is no right way, there is no "final push" that has been solidified as the only way to shift, there is no answer that someone can give you that is tailored perfectly to you.

LISTEN.

You are giving away your own power to others when you are constantly asking questions. Your Journey and how you explore it is now in someone else's hands when you are asking how to specifically shift and such.

You are overthinking it, bring yourself back.

Seriously. I asked, "what happens to your earbuds when you shift?" And I was overthinking it really hard. I didn't realize that my body is staying in the CR and my consciousness was leaving for my DR. Obviously my earbuds will stay in my CR because I'm not focusing on it anymore.

We tend to believe that when we are shifting we have to be aware,everywhere, all at once, when we are shifting. You have to realize though that all you are doing is leaving, becoming aware of your DR self. It's as simple as just forgetting that your CR even exists in the moment. That is literally how you let go - you just stop caring about your CR and forget about it because you are busy shifting instead.

Nothing you do in the CR matters to your shifting, NOTHING. You can shift in your sleep, standing up, literally anywhere doing anything because you aren't focusing on your CR to shift - you are focusing on your DR. You are tricking your brain into believing that nothing else exists outside of your DR, and it becomes true. If you twitch a toe, if your heart is beating really fast, if you feel like you are floating - It don't matter, that's all CR stuff. Focus completely on your DR, let it become completely truth and fact to your awareness, and you will shift.

Some affirmations for those positive vibes ♡♡♡

I am in my DR

I am nothing more than awareness

No matter what i do in my CR i will shift

No matter what doubt i have i will shift

I am confident in myself

I trust my subconsiousness, I trust the universe to shift me
