The short version of the story is that when I was plotting CTB, I was convinced that no one was going to want to read about a horribly toxic relationship. So I was trying to find a compromise where I could get the plot I wanted while making things a bit more palatable.
Then I listened to No Children again, and I was like "okay if a spiteful song about a toxic divorce can be the darling of this hellsite, I can probably get away with my original vision."
No Children also an enabler of my love for hand-based imagery. Spoiler, but the title for next chapter's past section is supposed to be "The Unlovable Hands."

I wonder... does this blog have enough reach in the fandom that we could try and finally put a stop to people tagging unrelated AUs as LU.
The correct term to use is "Links meet AU" and the reason the mistagging hurts is because:
A) It dismisses the creativity of the work. Its a lot like saying someone's original character looks like a fictional character you know. It may be a small unintended insult but it can be demoralising and make them not wish to share their art anymore.
B) It connects all AUs of this type to Jojo, the creator of LU. That comic was not the first links meet au by a long shot. YES her work inspired many of us to start our own imagines of the same base concept, but that does not make them Linked Universe. It's like claiming someone inspired by spider-man deciding to explore the superhero genre is just making more spider-man.
Yes this may be a small issue, but I've been working on this webcomic since 2020 and still get those demoralising tags. I've been silently baring it long enough. Even worse is seeing how it hurts fellow creators in the fandom.
I don't like asking this but... Please spread this post and if you'd like: add your own experiences below. Maybe we can change things around here.

100 years later I finally drew all of my AU Links
Say hello to my lads! They're going to be in a comic I've been scripting and planning for about a year now I think? I'm calling it Link and the Links, latl for short!

The Plot
The Links find themselves in a mysterious forest that seems somewhat familiar to all of them yet none of them know where they are. Now they have to work together to find their way home. On the way they'll discover a thing or two about each other and grow closer!
The Cast
I could talk about these guys for hours, but to keep it digestible I'll make it short
A bit of info before I get into it - all of them are taken from different points in time after the end of their adventure(s)!
Birdie (Skyward Sword)

Roughly 6 hours after defeating Demise
The start of it all. Unbeknownst to himself and the others, the space they find themselves in was created out of his desire to meet the heroes after him. He feels terribly guilty about the curse and very much blames himself for the possible suffering of future heroes. His main goal is to check up on everyone and help where he can!
Grasshopper (Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask)

Somewhat disoriented after his journey still, he tags along simply because he thinks Birdie is an idiot who would get lost without him. He doesn't talk a whole lot but he likes listening to other people's stories

6 months after leaving the domain for the ocean King
He's a real genuine pirate, yarr!! Or so he'd like you to believe. He talks a great deal about his strength and bravery, but really is just afraid and terribly homesick most of the time. He wants to fit in with Tetra's and her crew's toughness so much he might go a little overboard on the act in a way that may or may not end up biting him in the butt.

He wouldn't call himself a hero, in fact he'd say it's a miracle he made it out alive. Self-esteem and confidence really aren't his strong suits, he often finds himself dragged along and unable to say no. He is very friendly however, and if you just give him a little space he might even open up to you.

Left Ordon after intrusive thoughts convinced him he was a danger to his village, now works at Telma's bar as a waiter in exchange for a room. He's responsible well liked, though he's not too fond of himself. He has some complicated feelings about the whole turning into a wolf thing

Just a few seconds after Koholint disappeared
From one dream right into the next (sorta?) he's understandably disoriented at first. He pushes that aside pretty much immediately though, much more interested in getting to know everyone. He's a kind and soft spoken, weirdly wise sort of guy and near instantly becomes the heart of the team

Bitter doesn't even begin to describe this uh.. Pleasant fella. After being bossed around for the better part of his life he doesn't take orders from anybody and is this close to quitting his job as a blacksmith. He hates being stuck here, he hates these strange people, really there's not much he doesn't hate. But that can't be all there is to him...
Puzzle (The Legend of Zelda and Adventure of Link)

Confused, disoriented, but still happy to help and ready for adventure. Though some of the others don't really like him around he's still just as friendly to everyone. Since he struggles to communicate he tends to stay quiet. He appears to be simple minded on first glance, but he'll prove to be a valuable member of the team.

13 years after defeating Vaati
After his grandfather died he retreated into his house and dedicated himself to improving his blacksmithing skills to live up to his grandfather's name, he was quickly forgotten by his community and faded into obscurity. Now he may be the best blacksmith in Hyrule, so good that even the royal guard hires him, but among the general castletown population he's nothing more than a forest cryptid. He only leaves the house when he has to, carefully avoiding people. Not because they disgust him, he just has a major case of social anxiety!
Squire (Breath of the Wild)

3 years pre calamity
This absolute rascal couldn't be happier about his current circumstances. These unknown woods are his playground and all of these weirdos are his friends now! Though everyone's pretty sure he's a knight trainee, he insists that he's just a stable hand for the guard. His chaotic and carefree nature surprisingly doesn't get in the way of things as he's eager to help out wherever he can, seeing the whole journey as an impromptu camping trip.
Some funfacts :]
Most of them are neurodivergent in some way!
Birdie and Seagull have ADHD, Grasshopper and Choo are autistic, Squire gets the combo platter AuDHD and Wolfie has OCD
Additionally, Birdie has auditory processing disorder and dyscalculia, and Squire has dyslexia
A few of them also have speech disorders
Choo stutters and Puzzle has cluttering speech disorder
Apple has a weak voice, so after a while his voice gets tired and gets hoarse
Choo enjoys drawings and cartography, two skills that will be very important!
One of Seagull's hobbies is photography! He takes his pictobox everywhere
Wolfie also does entertainment at the bar from time to time! He sings or does card tricks
Sprout knows HSL (hylian sign language) because his grandfather was deaf
Seagull's piratey way of talking is 100% for show and painfully inconsistent
Wolfie speaks in a thick southern (in universe ordonian) accent but he's trying hard to mask it since he moved to castletown
Wallflower absolutely hates Puzzle
Squire's special interest is horses
Birdie is a bit of a doormat so he has the ideas but Wolfie is the one to actually get them through
A number of them are blood related (has nothing to do with the colours of their names in this post, I had to reuse some because there weren't enough orz)

Okay, this is a problem I have been seeing a lot within the LU fanbase and just quickly wanted to address this cause it genuinely upsets me to see this happen.
Please do not tag things as Linked Universe if the original post isn't Linked Universe related.
This has been something I have been seeing a lot of, where work that isn't related to LU, such as perhaps someone's own original AU, fanart of a game or anything else inbetween starts getting tagged and rebloged as LU even though it's not related to it at all. Just because someone, for example, did art of a Link from a certain game in their own way doesn't mean it's LU.
I am saying this cause a very talented artist on here is possibly leaving Tumblr because of people for one tagging their art as LU but also cause of some uncommon tagging. They do beautiful Hyryle Warrior's art I won't go to much into it, but an example they pulled up was someone reblog with a tag that was along the line of "wish this was their design instead of the whøŕe". Pretty disgusting. Does this mean it was a LU tag? No, this could have been a off-hand comment since HW Link is considered really pretty, but I have seen people rarely use that sort of language when addressing Warriors.
Even on other people's original AU's, I have seen people tag them as LU when they want to be their own thing.
I apologize for my ramblings, I am not good at formatting worded posts all too much and find it different to word what I am trying to say.
Just, don't tag things as LU when it's not. It's easy as going to the original poster and seeing their tags.

-What is Team Timeless?
Team Timeless is a Linkverse AU by @gaylactic-fire , featuring 6 Links, all from different games that aren't a part of the canonical Zelda Timeline. There may be cameos from other Links throughout the AU.
-Where is XYZ Link?
The concept of TT was to take Links that have appeared in different video games and mush them together. This is the reason why popular non-canon Links, such as cartoon Link, are nowhere to be seen. I also wanted to take Links whose games I was familiar with / a fan of, hence the maybe unexpected exclusion of Hyrule Warriors Link from the main cast. Sorry HW fans.
-Does Team Timeless have a story?
There will be an extremely vague overarching plot. The main purpose of TT is to be a humourous, character driven adventure that pokes fun at LoZ and shakes up the Linkverse scene. All you need to know is that Hylia felt the need to assemble this group to "aid the heroes of the timeline." Think of these guys as the goddess' support group, while the canonical heros do all the dirty work.
-Where can I find info on the timeless Links?
Their reference sheets are posted under the tag #references if you would like to learn more about them!
-Is this AU related to Linked Universe?
While it takes from the premise, Team Timeless is not a Linked Universe AU. As such, please don't tag any works here as LU.
-Ok, since it's not LU, what's your stance on shipping the timeless Links?
I'm a-ok with shipping! Just please remember to tag as Linkcest / Linkshipping etc for the sake of others and backlisting. However, since some of these Links are minors I do not at all condone or wish to see minor/adult pairings of these characters. Please respect that.

Hi there!
Hey guys, I'll admit it.
I'm not sure what I'm doing.
But I'm a writer, musician, and Zelda enthusiast! I write for Linked Universe mainly (Illegible_Handwriting on ao3) and I figured I should make a Tumblr, so here we are! I like a bunch of other things too, though (marble hornets, stormlight archive, gravity falls, unravel 2, metroid, doctor who, the owl house, rottmnt, ben drowned/awakening, generation loss, episodes 4-9of star wars, HUMAN RIGHTS DAMMIT, just to name a few) so I'll pretty much post whatever I want to.
I swear a lot, so be warned.
Nonbinary (and everyone is hella valid, homophobes/terfs/transphobes/racists/ableists/anti-Semites etc. beware >:( so be nice everyone)
I use "#illeg scribbles" for my writing, and #chicken scratch for any other rambles or posts I make. #reblog is exactly what it sounds like!

The Chosen and the Champion series (in progress)
The Chosen and the Champion (Switch gang tribute): Completed. A ton of Wild and Sky content because I saw Skyward Sword on Switch and went FUCK yes. This got off the rails very quickly. Just read all of them at this point, cuz I don't know what I'll bring back next. Chapter 20 and onwards is Exploring Sky's Hyrule.
Smoke & Ashes: Incomplete and in progress!! continues where C&C left off, with a huge fucking focus on Sky's adventure, specifically the end. However, unlike most fics, people are NOT very happy or forgiving with Sky. If you know, you know. VERY ANGST HEAVY. PLEASE READ ALL THE TAGS AND WARNINGS.
Like Mounds of Molten Gold: Incomplete and in progress!! Just a bunch of extra content for the C&C universe! Some are companion pieces to a specific chapter or section, while some are just random shit. There might be cut content every now and then. All of them help to give a deeper/more enjoyable experience to the main fic (in my opinion).

A Weight Called Eternity: completed. oneshot. I asked the question "what was Groose doing during the Demise fight?" This is absolutely spliced from ch16 of S&A. Do I care? No. It's edited substantially as well, and is not LU, but SkSw instead. ALSO HEAVY ANGST
Other fics:
There it is again, that funny feeling...: Incomplete and in progress!! multi-chapter. It's a bunch of different ideas all stemming from the same base question: "what if Sky was the Fierce Deity?" Each chapter is a separate AU. Please heed the warnings on this one.
Imagine all the fun you and your future self could have, if only you had a driver's license: Completed. multi-chapter. Long-ass title because I never thought of a better one. Basically, pre-LU Wild and Sky are in Mariokart! Bunch of crack. Lots of fun.
Here lies Link: completed. oneshot. Four digs a grave for a dear friend. Also Wolfie is there for emotional support. Heed the tags.
Storybook: completed, i guess. oneshot, i guess. pre-Minish Cap Four knows about Sky and I think that's the most precious idea. If I ever come back to this, I'll let you know.
Freezing Flame: completed. oneshot. halloween from a couple years ago. Wind finds a graveyard. Heed the warnings.
All the Lights in the World (Are Slowly Going Out): completed, i guess. discontinued, really. multi-chapter. I tried Wumptober 2022 and I only got 3 prompts in. heed the tags and warnings.
Fluffy Pillows and Angsty Teens: incomplete! multi-chapter. Random shit i wrote!!
Beyond Recollection (discontinued): done, i guess. Multi-chapter. Was gonna be about a female hero after twi who people couldn't remember, but i left the idea.
As twilight fell: completed. oneshot. my first fic. don't read it. save yourselves. I might rewrite it eventually. heed the warnings in the tags.

Hello, I'm Sunset-Peril, and this is my lore hole.
I'm a perpetually-tired pre-veterinary Biology student with a love for medicine and birds/marine mammals who's trying to determine where she fits in career-wise and afford everything while bringing honor to the Lord. I don't always do a good job at any of those things, hence the word 'trying'. Currently, I'm studying to get into veterinary school. We'll see what happens from here. I'm naturally a little suspicious/leery of new people due to past experiences. Sometimes I draw but mostly I write. I primarily produce The Legend of Zelda related content and I sometimes I make adoptables. Everything I make is for fun, not for profit. I overuse commas and spend way too long explaining things.
I really like genetics for whatever reason, so my personal Zelda lore does revolve around a genetically modified BotW Link (often identified as Wolfbred Link, Werewolf Link or HFS Link). If genetically modified humans is something that you definitely do not want to run into, you may either block the Hyrule's Final Stand tag or just not interact with me. If you like Hyrule's Final Stand already, but don't want Wolfbred Link's information/character art, then please block "Link Imperial Hyrule"

The staff section of the cafeteria had been cleared of tables and filled to the brim with CPR mannequins, gym mats, and a small army of staff in various locations around the space.
A few, like Wars and Time were pacing through with other educators brought in for the training exercise. Others sat, stood, or laid with index cards; acting out or reading off their cards to the handful who were on their turn for acting as triage and treatment.
"Oh oof ouch, I am dying. My sats are unreadable. Oh no," Legend deadpanned from the blue mat on the floor while one of the hospital's newer hires rocked from foot to foot above him.
"Don't panic, breathe," Time raised his voice a little over the din of the emergency preparedness practice.
"And- and check the leads if they are there? And- or call a code for help?" Time nodded and the new hire ran through the motions.
"Cool, alright Wind, so what is the next step?" Twilight grinned and pulled the young respiratory-therapist-in-training's attention back to the scenario at hand.
"Oh, yeah. Geeze, it's pretty loud and busy."
"Emergencies tend to be. You don't have to get it perfect, that's why we do the course."
"Right," Wind nodded and rechecked the card with the scenario information, "well then, uh, little mister bus crash. Your arm is probably broken and my what big bones you have for a second grader."
"Ha-ha. Take it seriously, please."
"I am. Reading the room, this kid wouldn't take kindly to coddling and lying from what I've heard. Plus it's not a red level emergency so-"
Wind laid Twilight's arm on his own legs on top of his folded up sweater. With slow and purposeful movements he held the hand still gently with one of his own, while the other went for the splinting materials in one of the tubs to the side.
"Your arm is going to get a, uhm," Wind furrowed his brow when Wars and another one of the course leaders walked by, "special jacket that'll hug it and help make it feel better until a doctor can get you a cast."
"My card just says 'inconsolable crying', I'm sure you can imagine what that is like."
"No, no Twi- do it right!"
Legend was propped up on his elbow staring back at the two of them, oh so casually sipping his energy drink while his caretaker was tearing through the provided bins and listening to Time talk them through their panic.
"I'm not taking advice from an unconscious body with an untraceable rhythm that is somehow sitting up and drinking that crap."
"For all you know I'm asleep with detached leads," he stage whispered before slurping obnoxiously.
"I'm going to tie this here and here to help make your arm feel better," Wind half shouted over the other two.
Twilight flipped his behavior card around to show both Wind and Legend the underlined block lettering saying 'inconsolable crying' and shrugging.
Wind rolled his eyes and the motion took his whole head lolling back on his shoulders in exasperation. Legend, the bug, just snorted. Then, of course, Wars looped back around to watch.
"Okay, one knot," Wind spoke as he continued, "and two. How brave! Quick, Legend! Wiggle your fingers!"
"Wha-"
"Flex those fingies! C'mon!"
Legend flexed all of one at Wind's smiling face.
"Watch it!" Twi shouted before catching the glare from Wars. "Thats a swear finger. Tsk tsk."
"That's right! You should show him how to properly wiggle your fingers, kiddo," Wind, to his credit, avoided the patronizing tone most of the others put on when working with younger patients.

I have a few written so far, but not a ton. I don't know if I will do every prompt/post every day, but why not do some writing and try to have fun, right? I love the cozy feels of ppl taking care of their friends and stuff, so I find this kinda thing cute. Also posted on A03 here

Legend coughed hard into his elbow. When he pulled back, his shirt stayed hooked over his nose for a second before falling away fully revealing his blotchy red face. And the scowl, of course.
“Do you even know how to take care of a sick person?”
Hyrule winced at the crackling behind Leg’s choppy words. His own face flared red for a moment before he caught himself and took a deep… deep ish… breath.
“‘Cause, I get you’re a great healer. Fantastic-” he paused to clear his throat, though it sounded more like shaking a tin of rocks in chu jelly, “saved our asses more than I can count.”
“Okay. What can I do, then?” Hyrule screwed his face up for a second before letting it go slack again. “What would help?”
Legend pulled his shirt up and turned to cough away from Hyrule’s direction for another long moment. By the time he came up for air, his eyes were watering and Hyrule was squatting beside him with some water.
“Thahsss-” He cleared his throat again, “Thats a good start.”
Hyrule sighted and plonked his head to his hand to pinch and smooth away the tension between his brows. Once Legend had enough, Hyrule took the cup and stood, turning to the low fire with warm honeyed water resting atop in a pot.
“No wonder everyone jumped to go out and try to find out where we are,” Legend stared at his hands in his lap, “Sorry, I’m being kind of an ass.”
Legend could see Hyrule stiffen a few steps away.
“It’s… not okay, but I know you don’t mean it.” Hyrule shifted his weight. Standing still with his back to Legend he continued, “Yer…. feelin’ crummy…”
Hyrule almost sounded like he was drifting away. Legend sat up a bit more, face pinched and voice dry and cracking out before he could say anything.
“Rulie?”
Hyrule staggered a step and crouched down. He plonked onto his ass and turned to give Legend a pale, shaky smile.
“‘M good,” he huffed out a laugh, “Just got lightheaded for a second.”
“Oh my god,” Legend dragged his hands down his face and whined, “we’re cursed. We’ve got to be cursed. You’re sick too, now, aren’t you?”
“What can I say to get you to not worry?” Hyrule shrugged. He started feeling a bit floaty-headed after dinner, and the sore throat and aches blooming throughout the morning really cemented his desire to stick with the veteran at basecamp.
“Grab two cups and get your ass over here and sit,” Legend paused for a moment, “please.”
“Sure thing,” Hyrule stood up more carefully and retrieved the sad excuse for tea and cough remedy, “so, when can I start being pissy and snarky too? It might be fun.”
Legend snorted himself into another coughing fit that kicked off Hyrule laughing and coughing along.
“I would kill to see you snark off to someone,” Legend took the warm cup while Hyrule settled down beside him.
