okay SO

I got some new bookmarks a while back and the printer messed up, so they were printed too big and some were partially cropped. The print quality and paper is perfect, but I can't sell them. They re-did the order so I'm not out a ton of money, but now I have all these sheets with too-big bookmarks printed on them lying around. I haven't cut them into bookmarks yet but I can. There's a lot.

30 different designs, plus 4 metallic ones as well. Lots of each. I asked about selling them at a low cost just to cover fees etc, instead of just throwing them out, and a few people said they were interested, so I've put them up in my shop.

There is a minimum order quantity of 3, unless you're also buying something else. You can buy 1 or 2 but it'll add a service fee, because it's just not viable for me to sell them individually at €1 each and it'd get unfair if I charged more per item.

I haven't added them on Etsy because a) with Etsy's fees I'd have to charge way too much and also b) I don't want to deal with Etsy folks not reading the description and then complaining. If you really want to buy some via Etsy, I guess send me a DM on Etsy and I can set up a private order for you? But it's honestly the exact same thing, you'd just be paying extra for the privilege of buying it on Etsy.

Also I'm very sorry but I can't sell to Britain because of new tax/import/etc rules. We can arrange something privately though if you're willing to trust me. I know that sounds dodgy, but it's what I got. I can also sell via Etsy but then you'd be paying more because fees and VAT.

ALSO if you do buy something PLEASE make sure you pick the right shipping option. Standard shipping means it's sent as a letter, with cardboard backing; usually that's plenty to get them to their destination safely. If you want it to be trackable please pick tracked shipping otherwise it won't be. If your postal service tends to destroy packages please pick the packaging upgrade and maybe leave a note so I know to put extra care into packaging your order.

Channeling rage: writing postcards to voters and other ways to resist

If you are looking for ways to protect our human rights, I can recommend writing postcards to voters. This is an excellent way for introverts and individuals with limited free time or who are unable to gather in person. There are 2 programs

1. Postcards To Voters . When you have free time, you send a text message. They'll ask you how many postcards you want to write (min is 4), you reply and they'll send you the list. You provide the postcards and the postage. It's perfect as a small, manageable commitment. 2. The other one is the progressive campaign Postcards To Swing States. They target key states, you sign up, commit to a minimum of 200 postcards. They will mail you the postcards and the addresses, you provide the postage. You have approximately 2 months to write the postcards and then you mail them in October. This is a larger project perfect for a few individuals. It works out to around 5 to 10 postcards per week. You can even create a Zoom meeting with friends who are doing the same project, and get together at a specific time each week & have a social postcard writing event. And finally, it's therapeutic as heck.

3. Extroverts! There is so much you can do. Willing to make phone calls or canvass. I suggest checking in with your local Indivisible Groups who work on the local level. Connecting to progressives in your area is also uplifting and allows you to tap into a wider network of like minded resistance. You are not alone!

4. Finally, for those who like to text - I found it incredibly moving to text voters to remind them to vote or to send info about a specific candidate. The texts are all pre-programmed, you’re there to respond to questions and direct voters to resources. It can be a bit intense (many of us are understandably not thrilled to get texts so you will need a thick skin). But one of my proudest moments is when a voter in Atlanta texted me a photo of her voting for the first time in 2016 and when we were able to help two elderly sisters get rides to the polling station. (FYI, don't worry - your cell number is not used for the texting, you work through their platform): Movement Labs - text to voters

This is my dog Roxie (birthday coming up on April 17) she has a tumor on her shoulder. We would love to be able to get her to a vet who could do further testing to see the best form of treatment for her.

We are currently trying to fund that and her medication for any pain and inflammation she's experiencing.

State of the Archive

Currently the archive is up, running and stable on otw-archive. Technical issues include: Links from e-mails not landing on the correct subdomain, so if you want to join up, you have to add beta.adastrafanfic.com/[insert validation link] in order to validate your account. If you don’t want to or can’t, though, just hit me up and I’ll do it from the back end! Another technical issue is that dates/times aren’t populating correctly on newly posted stories, but that’s a pretty minor thing. If you see a bug, let me know!

June 2023 Review Hunt

So, in honor of the fact we have a shiny new archive and some new folks hanging around to share their talent and skill with us, I’ve decided to run a Review Hunt! The basic premise being: You write reviews/comments on other peoples’ stories/art/vids, get points and win a prize. The fan creator gets some very much wanted feedback. Legitimately everyone wins in this scenario.

Because the new archive really is brand new, new reviews/comments on both it and the original eFiction version of Ad Astra will count. If you need an account on the old Ad Astra, then DM me on Dis/c/ord or Tumblr (under @sl-walker) because the only way to get one is from the admin panel thanks to spam, and if you get an SQL error from the site, then access it via VPN (which is one of the reasons we’re moving over to otw-archive as software) from a different address. Singapore works for me, for some reason.

Hi everyone!

I've managed to complete all these comics and, I feel really proud of myself for doing it. Looking at it does feel "WOW, I did that". For anyone who enjoys these particular titles, they are now avaible for easy reading as ebooks, free download. Thanks for looking at my page. I am grateful to everyone who's watched, commented, and stuck with me. You've all been really great and supportive. It's been a big help as I've looked to work on my art.

But, I'm looking to turn my passion into a real living and I'll need more as a result. If I'm going to be able to work more and my characters, I'll need more patrons and income so I can focus on my art. I'm looking to reach a goal that'll let me work as much as I can and produce even more pictures, comics and animatics in the future. You can support me here, on kofi, or Patreon.
