Possessive
Hero’s breath came in little gasps, head bowed as they staggered against the binds. Their fluttering eyes flit across the room, scanning for any cracks in the wall or pieces of furniture that they could make use of in their state. Their brow trickled with sweat at the realisation that there would be no way out this time.
“Who was that, by the way?”
The soft voice broke Hero’s frantic train of thought and they lifted their head to look at the blurry figure.
Villain leaned against a broken table, their stoic gaze focused on the twirling dagger in their hands. “The villain you were fighting with on TV recently. The one that made you go famous.”
Hero paused, nausea churning in their gut. “…Other Villain? They’re a criminal I caught.”
The dagger came to a stop. Villain’s gaze caught theirs, a hardness growing in their eyes. “I’m aware of that. Why did you catch them?”
“Because it’s my job?”
“So they don’t mean anything to you?”
“Villain, what?” Hero’s knees trembled, close to collapsing and Villain’s cryptic questions did nothing to help their vertigo.
“Don’t pretend like you don’t know what I’m talking about.” Villain snapped, striding towards them. A quiet rage purposed their steps and they leaned down close enough to cast a shadow across Hero’s face.
“First you show up late to my robberies and now you’re out here fighting other villains?! Does the word arch nemesis mean nothing to you? I swear, ever since you’ve gotten famous, you won’t even respond to my threats anymore.”
Hero’s head spun, though now they were thinking it was more due to Villain’s idiocy rather than the drug. “I’m-I’m sorry?”
“You should be.” Villain crossed their arms, a dark look passing over their face that vaguely reminded Hero of a petulant child.
A few moments passed.
“Is that why you kidnapped me?”
“Maybe. I mean, you have to admit it hurts when you think you’re devoted enemies to one another and then they philander with someone behind your back.”
Hero exhaled, shutting their eyes with exasperation. “If I promise not to fight any other villain except you, will you let me go?”
Villain’s eyebrows furrowed as they considered it, lips turning into a soft frown. “Sure. But if you ever break our promi—“
“Yeah yeah, I get it. Now, please, give me the antidote before I regret my decision.”
Villain returned to their usual state of joviality at Hero’s acceptance, “Oh, there is no antidote! It wears off after a couple hours so have a good nap.”
Hero didn’t even have time to curse at them before their knees hit the ground, body wracking in one final spasm before becoming limp.
Villain turned around, humming under their breath as they went to investigate about the criminal.
Of course, just because they had let Hero go with little repercussions didn’t mean they had any intention of giving Hero’s beloved criminal the same treatment. They had a little treat in store for whoever messed with their dear nemesis.

Barbara au. God help me.
Ok! So @dogin8 expressed interest in my Barbara au and i will not defy one of my mutuals. This is all crack, btw. These are just the basics! i have loads of other stuff for this au.
/rp
Essentially, this is a Dadbur au where Tommy is his son. Who might the wife be?? Well! I’m glad you asked. It’s a blonde racoon it is literally a blonde racoon named Barbara.
Now, don’t worry! I know you’re worrying. stop that. Nothing funky went on! Wilbur married Barbara, and then they held hands for a very long time, very intensely, and so Wilbur got pregnant with Tommy! See? nothing funky :)
Shortly after Tommy is born, though, Wilbur divorces Barbara. She doesn’t know how to care for a human child; she keeps trying to feed him trash, take him foraging, and Wilbur is NOT happy that she is trying to do this with their newborn son, so he leaves her and takes Tommy. Wilbur raised Tommy as more of a brother because... LITERALLY how do you explain to your son that his mother is a racoon.
Tommy was born with small racoon ears and basically no other traits, and Wilbur always made sure to cut his hair so the ears were hidden. The ears never grew, until recently. For some reason, Tommy has been growing ears, strange markings on his face, and... some weird little poof of a tail? Huh. Pretty weirdchamp if you ask him! Luckily enough, he can just say his ears are just particularly unruly curls in his hair, the markings aren’t very noticeable, and the tail can easily be hidden within his clothes! Wonderful news for the Tommy Innit community! He is doing a great job at hiding this!
Never mind! Terrible day for the Tommy Innit community! Quackity knows something is up. He notices Tommy’s hair seemingly moving all by itself, twitching... perking up at sounds??? Bruh.
He confronts Tommy about it and he flips. NO ONE can know about this! He really thought he was doing so well at keeping this a secret. Quackity gets tired of Tommy’s shit and asks Wilbur, who ALSO lies, because how do you explain to your new lover rival that your brother is not in fact your brother but your son and his mother is a blonde racoon????
So now, Wilbur knows, and big Q knows, but Tommy doesn’t know either of them know. Big Q suspects Wilbur, but Wilbur doesn’t know. So they just do this dumb game of trying to hide/out each other and no one is winning.

Longing For You
Pairing: Fem reader x Aether
Words: 10k+ I lost count
Genre: one-shot, platonic relationship, fuff, angst, slight crack if you squint
Cw // mentions of character death, blood
Hi! It's my first time writing on here and I just write what's on my mind I'm sorry if this is bad since english is not my first language ㅠㅠ I promise I will get better with my writing! Enjoy ^^
Tumblr media
Lonely.
That's what you are feeling. It's been 3 days you got stuck in this unknown land. You thought it was beautiful, it really was. But will you be ready to face what's in front of you?
You manage to survive with fruits like apples and cashews, at least that's what you thought the name was, because in your world they called it cashews. Even though it doesn't really give you enough nutritions, as long as you get to live you're okay with it. Heck there were almost nothing here. You wanted to explore the place more but there are monsters everywhere, and you- with no weapon, could only run and hide in hopes of not getting spotted by them. Will you ever survive?
Sighing, "just another day like this I guess"
you said before drifting to dreamland under a tree in a secluded area of the unknown land.
----
"She's still breathing"
"Paimon! What are you doing?!"
You could hear someone whispering- half screaming to be exact, at someone but you are more bothered at someone poking your arm with a stick. Groaning, you woke up and realized someone invaded your place. Ready to fight whoever that was, your actions suddenly come to a halt when you meet a pair of golden eyes and his tiny little companion. They were as shocked as you, well... I guess you are more shocked to see a floating kid beside the blonde boy.
Quickly, you hide behind a tree. Since you don't have any weapon to defend yourself what else can defend you other than a tree?
"w-who are you?! And why you can float?!"
you shrieked, the little floating kid crossed her arms and scoffed at your question. Why would she scoffed at you?
"excuse me young lady but we're the one who should ask you that!".
You just meet her now but god knows how much her high-pitched voice started to annoy you. The blonde boy beside her started to speak up before his companion could even say a word,
"I'm sorry she bothered you. I'm Aether, and this is my travel companion, Paimon. We found a group of hilichurls around here and we already fight them off before it could reach your campsite. May we know what is your name?" he asks as his pair golden orbs stares straight into you.
"Uh.. My name is y/n..."
He smiles, assuring you that they're safe and can be trusted, you slowly got out behind the tree when he stretches out his hand for a handshake. You grab his hand, reciprocating his action. "it's nice to meet you y/n".
----
"No"
"Aether c'mon please?"
"ugh fine"
It's been a month you had stayed in Monstadt, The Land of Freedom, and a month since your encounter with Aether and Paimon. She still annoys you though, but you're really grateful that she can keep the conversation going because it always turns awkward whenever you tried to initiate a conversation with people. You learned that Aether didn't come from this world too, separated from his sister by the unknown god and now is looking for her in Teyvat. Hopefully, you can go back home too.
You missed your family of course but you're also happy that there are people who willing to take care of you, especially Barbara. She treated you like her own sister, beside Jean. You learned everything here from Lisa and learned how to fight from the cavalry captain Knights of the Favonious, Kaeya. And Diluc? He's hot, but cold as ice at the same time and you went to the Tavern once, only to see him talking to a bard named Venti, about how the bard needs to stop drinking all of his dandelion wine before he runs out of it because of him.
Now, Aether is in front of you as you manage to persuade him to bring you to one of his adventures. He never let you tag along because he told you it's dangerous outside. Both of you are no vision holders, but he has the power of Anemo. It's still a mystery to you but he's an outlander so it would probably make sense why he can have such powers even without a vision blessed by the Archons.
"But! You only have to fight the hilichurls only while I take down those mitachurls, got it?" he says. Nodding your head aggressively, you started your journey with him as an adventurer.
"Let's go to Liyue!" Paimon says excitedly.
---
"That was close, thank you y/n"
Aether pants heavily, letting out a sigh of relief as you kick off the last hilichurl with your sword. Turning around to face him, you tell him it's nothing.
You three bumped into a hilichurl camp in the middle of the road of Bishui Plans. Unfortunately, those group of monsters noticed you before you three could even hide.
You were about to follow Paimon but Aether called you, you look at him as his face expressed shocked. You asked him what's wrong only him to point at your hips. You were confused so you look down where he's pointing at. Well now you're equally as shocked as him, if not because of the shining crystal blue orb hanging on your belt.
"What... I-I swear it wasn't there before?"
You whispered, questioning yourself because how did it get there? How did you even got a vision? What did you do? You know it's a vision because Lisa has taught you at the library back in Mondstadt. How? That was all in your mind.
You hear Paimon gasped, putting her hands on her mouth, "you got a vision! Let me see!". She flew to look at your vision before touching it to get a better look. "You got a cryo vision!" she exclaimed.
"Cryo? You mean I get the power of ice?" You question her. She nodded her, "Yes! Now you can help Aether to fight enemies!". Looking down at your feet, sighing. Aether asked you what's wrong and you simply said you don't know how to fight. Like actually fighting enemies with your own power, how to use it and how to handle it. What if you unintentionally hurt people around you? Aether chuckled at your response. You look up at him, tilting your head in confusion.
"Don't worry, I'll teach you"
----
"I wish kaeya was here"
"You don't like it when I teach you?!"
Chuckling at your friend, you said it's not that you don't like it when he teaches you. It's because "it would be easier if a cryo vision holder teaches me how to control the element", you says.
He let out a puff, while you were stroking Paimon's hair on your lap. She snores softly and you swear you could hear her mumbling sticky honey roast in her sleep. Giggling at her, you wonder how can she be cute and annoying at the same time. It's unfair you think. You turned your head to look at Aether and he was zoned out, as always.
"Mind telling me what's in your mind?"
You picked up his habits quite quickly, since you both attached to the hips all the time. You would notice he always does this when he's deep in thought. The same goes for him. You both can read each other like an open book.
He looks at you, smiling. Shaking his head and tells you he always thinks the same, about his sister. You smiled back at him, you assured him that you will meet her soon. And now, you both enjoy the calm breeze as you both watched the sun set over the blue horizon at the nearby cliff in Liyue.
"S-sticky honey roast... "
----
Annoyed.
That's how you feel right now.
This guy just keeps pestering you for 20 minutes now. You got separated with Aether as he got something to do with Zhongli, the Wangsheng Parlor Funeral Consultant. Aether wanted to let Paimon stay with you but you said you're fine on your own and you would enjoy alone time in the time being while waiting for them.
But you didn't expect this.
"Can you stop following me now?"
"Why would I?"
Rolling your eyes, you bump into his shoulder, or Childe as he call himself.
"Oh don't be like that girlie-" " I have a name shut up" you sigh for the nth time. You need to avoid this man, because he's one of the Fatui, you don't want to involve yourself and Aether with them. That's why you've been running and avoiding him at all cost.
"Well you never tell me your name girlie-"
"It's y/n okay? Now go you're getting on my nerve..."
you mumbled the last sentence. He only chuckles at your reaction as he enjoys it. You were buying some street food from the food stall and before you could give your mora to the seller, someone beats you to pay for the food. You were not complaining though, you didn't thank him either.
"Okay then but can I ask you one last question, y/n?" he smiles widely while you only look at him, chewing your spicy fish cake, unamused. His question however, almost send you to you death as you were choking on your food.
"W-what did you say?!" "I want to get to know about you"
Aether is not going to like this...
----
As expected, he was mad. No, he was furious.
"Why did you talk to him?!"
"I tried not to talk to him Aether, he kept following me when I tried to avoid him! To the point he creeps me out..."
Aether sighs, rubbing his forehead as Paimon watched you two arguing. Was this the only time Paimon shuts her mouth? Excluding the time she's asleep. She knows when to silent herself because this time, Aether is different in Paimon's eyes.
"So.. Did you agree?" he questioned, not giving you a glance. You shake your head, "No, of course I didn't. He's dangerous and he could hurt us if he has the opportunity..." Which is true. Childe is a harbinger, and you, just a mortal from another world who just got dumped to Teyvat out of nowhere.
Aether engulfs you in a hug, which surprised you. You could feel your cheeks burning from the physical contact. His arm wraps around your shoulder while the other strokes your hair, calming you.
"I won't let that happen to you, Paimon and me. I won't let him hurt us, I will promise you that I will protect you both from any danger. I don't want to lose another friend..." he says and the last sentence sounds more like a whisper to you but you understand him.
You also promised to yourself that you will protect paimon and him. Because you love them.
----
"Well traveller, you're quite stronger than I thought"
"Stay away from him!"
You yelled at the harbinger, keeping yourself from falling as you struggled to stand up. Paimon tried her best to keep Aether awake while you were guarding them, ready to attack him anytime.
Childe let out a loud laugh, as if he was mocking you and your companion. Shaking his head, he came closer to you.
"You know what, you're lucky that you didn't fall for my tricks" he chuckles. You were getting antsy everytime he take a step closer to you, "no one is fool enough to fall for a harbinger, Tartaglia" you sneered.
He was about to attack you with his hydro sword but you managed to dodged it with your power and turning it into an ice. You both fight for a while and fortunately, Aether came to help you.
After hours of fighting, that's what you think, you feel drained out. Slumping on the floor, you take a glance at Aether he was panting hard, Paimon at his side to support him. And Childe, he looks better than both you and Aether combined but he's still in a good shape.
As you were trying to stand up, you saw a glimpse of a woman at the corner of your eye. You widen your eyes and tried to push Aether away as you saw the woman was about to attack him with her sharp ice.
Signora.
You made a wall of ice to protect Aether and Paimon from her attacks. However, you didn't do it for you. You didn't protect yourself and got hit by the ice. The ice wall from you melts, so does Aether's world when he saw you, bleeding from your own element.
Childe was as shocked too, he thought you were a genuine person, he really do. Is this what it feels when you know someone personally got hurt? He can't imagine what Aether feels now.
You fell, you felt dizzy as you hit your head on the solid ground.
"Y/n!" Aether and Paimon yelled your name, but why do they sound like they're miles away?
"Y/n! Keep your eyes open! Don't you very dare to close your eyes!" Your friend screamed. Paimon is holding your hand while sobbing on you. "Y/n you can't leave us! Paimon still want to have fun with you!"
All you can do is cry. You don't want to leave them. You still haven't find your way back home, you can't. But you were losing so much blood and all you could do is remembering your moments with your friends.
Aether and Paimon.
Aether holds you on his lap, you could feel his tears falling on your cheek. He cups your cheek as he stares into your (e/c) orbs. To him, it resembles the stars on the night sky. He wish he could look at them like this before.
Not when you're dying.
He put his forehead on yours as he keeps repeating "please don't leave" to you. You promised him that you will protect him, but not stay with him. Did you regret it? Yes. You wish you could stay but you knew at the end, both of you will leave eventually.
But you didn't expect that you would leave them like this.
With all your might, you hover your hand over his that was on your cheek, rubbing it softly. "Promise me, we will meet someday, wether it be in our next life or in different universe, promise me we will meet again" you said, voice getting hoarse and staring to his golden eyes. You want to remember his eyes, his nose, his lips, his everything.
"Paimon doesn't want you to leave!" your little friend cried, you let out a loud sob as you pull her to your chest, soaking your bloody shirt with her tears. You three tried to cherish your last moment together, even though it was a tragic one, like now.
Aether tighten his hold on you, Paimon cries harder when she saw the colour of your vision starting to fade, knowing you couldn't make it.
"Paimon loves you, y/n", all you can do is cry, before your last breathe you hear Aether says "I promise you, we will meet again.. I love you"
Your vision faded, you fall into a deep sleep and everything turns dark.
----
"She's awake!"
"Call the doctor!"
You slowly opened your eyes, the bright light hurting your eyes, still adjusting to the surrounding. You could feel your tears were falling. Why did you cry? Then it hit you.
You were in the hospital.
You remember what happened, was that all just a dream? It feels real, way too real for your liking.
"Thank god, you're finally awake!" your mom sobs. Wait, your mom is here? You're finally back? You were supposed to be happy but why did you feel sad?
"H-how long did I... Sleep?" you asked, voice raspy as your throat lacks of hydration. Your mom gave you a glass of water and you gladly drink it, your throat still hurt.
"2 months now, you got hit by a car and the guy felt bad. He even insisted to pay for your bills", your mom says as she hold your hand. It's been a few minutes but you missed them. Aether and your little friend Paimon.
"Oh.." that's all you can say. You really don't know what to respond. You were happy that you're finally awake but you also missed people you met in Teyvat. Are they real or just your imagination?
"I forgot to tell you, the person who pays for your hospital bill will visit you. He always visits you when me and your dad is busy with work", you nodded your head, didn't have the energy to reply your mom back.
Suddenly, the door opens, revealing a tall man. You face him, only to widen your eyes as you were shocked to see the person in your dream.
"Childe?"
----
It's been a month since you got discharged from the hospital and been recovering well. You still struggle to walk on your own though, but nothing serious. Ever since you met childe, you both got along very well, not like the one in your dream.
"So... What I dreamed of during my coma was real?" You asked him, walking through the flowery path as the cherry blossom falls on the ground beside him arms clinging to his.
"Yeah. In fact, I'm still the same Childe in your dream!"
"Yeah as you wish. The only same thing is you keep paying things for me.. And being annoying"
You remarked. He only laughs and told you the reason why he keeps doing that is that it's the only kind action he could do, even now. But in reality, he felt guilty. He
"By the way, I want you to meet an old friend of mine. You won't mind right?"
"What's the point of asking me if you're going to introduce your friend to me now?"
"Geez woman, you're still the same"
you could only laugh at him. To you, he's a good friend but no one could replace Aether. If you met Childe, there's a possibility of you to meet Aether and Paimon right?
"Oi blondie! We're here!" Childe yelled, getting you out from your deep thoughts. You look up only to meet a pair of golden eyes that you've missed so much.
It feels like the time has stopped. He walked towards you and slowly, engulfed you in a hug. You were stunned, you meet him. You both found each other. You hugged him back, tightly. You let out tears of joy, he was relieved he found you that he also cried.
"You didn't forget me don't you?" You hear a feminine voice behind Aether, only to find Paimon crossing her arms, just like when you meet her for the first time. But what amazes you that she's in a different form. She looks... Like you. A woman.
Your eyes got teary again and went straight to her, giving her a big hug which she reciprocated. "I miss you so much Paimon" you burried your head into her neck. Paimon was happy she could meet her.
Childe and Aether could only look both of you with adoration. Aether cleared his throat, without looking at the man beside him, eyes still on you. "Thank you, if it wasn't for you, we wouldn't find her"
The red haired man could only smile, "it's no problem. I couldn't face anyone after what happened in Teyvat. Think of this as my way to apologize". Aether couldn't answer, he only nodded his head to let him know he's listening.
You went to him only get a hug from you. You missed him so much. And you noticed Aether doesn't have his long braided hair anymore, which saddens you because you always play and braid his hair.
"I noticed that you finally got rid of your annoyingly long hair", you teased him. You hear him chuckled as he tightened his grip around you. "Can't let the annoyingly long hair distract people sweetie. People found it weird here"
"But I like it though..." you blushed at the pet name he gave you. You both just couldn't let go of each other now. He strokes your hair, enjoying each others presence. "I'm so glad that I found you", "me too, I'm glad you're here".
The other two friend only watched you two reunited again, hugging each other and won't let each other go because you missed each other so much that you both are afraid one of you vanished anytime. But it's real.
"Childe can we get some sticky honey roast?"
"Good grief, paimon.."

I see you (Plangst onesho)
The metal door slid open, revealing a tired looking Pidge. Lance mentally cursed himself for bothering her at such a late hour.
“Sorry Pidge, were you sleeping?”
“Nah. I got a buttload of new Galra code that I’ve been looking at.” She shuffled back into her room. “Come on in.”  Lance tiptoed through her “organized mess”, looking for any place to sit. He finally spotted a free space on her bed, and plopped down beside Pidge.
“You should really try to sleep y'know.” Pidge threw him a disapproving look, and snorted.
“So, whats up?” Lance  looked up at Pidge, who was clacking away on her laptop. He sighed.
“I talked to Allura.” The clacking stopped, and he found himself staring into amber eyes. “It didn’t go too well.” His voice cracked, and almost instantly, warm arms surrounded him. He leaned into her hug. Over their years in space, he had grown closed with the green paladin. They had spent countless nights playing video games, reminiscing about earth, and just talking.
“Oh Lance.” She whispered into his hair. “I’m sorry.” They stayed like that for a while, Pidge’s head in Lance’s hair, Lance’s arms around her waist. When they pulled away, Lance sniffled, and smiled.
“It’s okay, I’m fine, really.” Pidge threw him a doubtful look.
“I mean look on the bright side! I’m now free to pursue other alluring alien women.” He laughed, in an attempt to lighten the mood. Pidge joined him, though her laugh seemed hesitant. “It’s really a shame there weren’t more princesses on this ship. We could do with more Altean beauties.” Pidge resumed her typing.
“Yeah, I guess.” Lance frowned. Why did she sound so upset?
“Dude, lighten up a little, I’m fine, I promi-” He was cut off by Pidge slamming her laptop shut.
“You think it’s all about you huh?” Lance was taken aback by her sudden outburst. “I’m sorry you just got your heart broken, and I’m sorry there are no other beautiful women on this ship, but for once in your life, can you think about what I’m feeling?” Lance didn’t know how to react. Where was this coming from?
“What? Pidge, what are you saying?” The green paladin ran a hand through her messy curls, and continued, in a softer voice.
“You spend all this time looking around for “Mrs. Blue Lion”. Every planet we visit, every space mall we take cows from, every station we help, I have to endure your endless comments. “Did you see the legs on that one Pidge?” “She has really pretty eyes Pidge.” “Oh Pidge, I might be in love.”” She held the bridge of her nose, and took a deep breath. “Did you ever thi-” There were tears in her eyes, and Pidge swallowed again. “Did you ever think to stop looking around, and look ahead instead?” Lance’s mouth opened and then closed again.
“Pidge-”
“My name is Katie!” Pidge yelled. “And I’m right here. I’ve always been right in front of you” She put her head in her hands, and let the tears fall. “Why can’t you see me?”
Lance was unsure how to comfort his friend. He felt like a total jerk. All this time, the only thing that concerned him was getting Allura to date him. He would tell Pidge about his feelings without even considering how she felt. He wanted to hold her, and tell her he was sorry, but he was too afraid. So he did the coward thing to do, and left.
Pidge heard the door swish open and click shut. Her hands trembled, and she sobbed into her pillow. She had tried to be supportive of Lance’s romantic endeavors, but after a while, she just become tired. Tired of him only seeing her as his “wing-man”, or “best pal.” She wanted him to see her as a girl. As Katie. It was dumb for her to fall love with Lance. Such a cliche. What type of idiot falls in love with her best friend? The green paladin wiped her eyes, and re-evaluated the mess she had created. He had left. Without a word. Just like her dad and Matt. She had lost her best friend. Pidge lay down, and cried some more.
“Pidge, wait up.” Pidge turned around to see Keith jogging up behind her. She offered a smile.
“Hey Keith, whats up?” Keith furrowed his brows, and stared at her. Pidge squirmed a little under his gaze.
“Are you okay?” Those were not the words she was expecting.
“Uh, yeah? Why do you ask?” Keith sighed and rubbed the back of his neck. As much as he hated to admit it, he found himself caring for the green paladin as if she was his sister. Maybe it was because Shiro was somehow both their suto-brothers, or maybe he just wanted to protect her. Whatever it was, he didn’t like seeing her sad.
“You just seem a little down.” Pidge looked down at her feet. “Katie, you’re like my baby sister. You can tell me anything.”
“It’s nothing.” A tear slipped down her cheek. “I’m fine.”
“Look, I’m not great with emotions, and I suck at giving life advice, so just tell me who or what I need to punch, and consider it done.” Pidge let out a breathy chuckle.
“Please no.” She looked him in the eyes. “It’s Lance.” Keith growled.
“What did he do?” Pidge shrugged and shook her head.
“Nothing, or everything. I don’t know anymore.” Keith looked expectant, like he wanted more details, and so she told him the whole story. How she didn’t like Lance at first, but then they become friends. How he would talk to her about all his girl problems, and they would hang out late at night. She told Keith about her feelings for the sharpshooter, and how he left her. By the end, she was crying, and he was hugging her.
“He’s an asshole.” Pidge let out a teary laugh.
“Thanks for listening Keith.”
“Anytime Katie.”
The next few weeks were hell in Lance’s opinion. It seemed like Pidge was doing everything in her power to avoid him. Whenever he would walk into a room, she would walk out. During missions, she would partner up with Keith instead of him. She even took to eating her meals before everyone else.
“Lance! Earth to Lance!” Lance jerked up as Hunk waved a hand in front of his best friends face.
“Huh?” Lance looked at Hunk. “Oh, hey buddy.” Hunk frowned.
“Lance, whats wrong?” Hunk leaned on the counter, and stared at his friend.
“Nothing. Okay, everything.” Lance’s brow furrowed, and he groaned, letting his head drop on the countertop. “Don’t hit me with the spatula Hunk, but I think I really hurt Pidge, and now she won’t talk to me.” Hunk narrowed his eyes.
“What did you do?” Lance explained everything. Hunk hit him with his spatula.
“Hey! I said no hitting!” Lance rubbed his shoulder. “That really hurt!”
“I should hope so. Do you have any idea what you did?” Lance shook his head dumbly, and Hunk sighed. “Lance, do you know how many times Pidge has come into my room for a hug because she had a nightmare that we all left her?” Lance shook his head again. “Too many times. That poor girl had been through more than you can ever imagine with her dad and brother leaving her behind. And you go and leave her too.”
“I didn’t mean it.” Lance’s gut was filling with regrette. He had left her. Hunk patted him on the back.
“I know you didn’t, but does she?” Lance put his head in his hands. He had to make this right.
It was harder then it seemed. The more Lance tried to talk to her, the more she seemed hell bent on ignoring him. And the worse part was he was starting to see how absolutely amazing Katie Holt was. There was that time she re-coded the program for their training missions, creating a real AI they could fight against. An opponent that grew smarter with them. Or that time Allura hosted a ball, and she took his breath away in that green, vintage dress. Or even that time she saved his butt against the Galra. THe more Lance watched her, the more he realized he was in love.
“DON’T YOU TOUCH HER!” Lance charged at Ezor. This was not how the mission was supposed to go. Pidge looked absolutely terrified.
“Ooh, we have a live one here.” The Galra commander smirked. “Unfortunately, this may pose as a problem. She tossed Pidge to the nearby soldiers, and gestured for them to follow her out the cell door. “It seems Pidgey here will have to be…” She waved her hand in the air as if looking for the right word. “Asked some questions elsewhere.” Shiro glared.
“No. Let her go.” Ezor laughed. Lance stood up.
“Take me instead.” Ezor sighed.
“Honestly, your human heroics are plain stupid.” She turned to leave, stopping in the doorway to look at Lance. “Don’t worry loverboy. I’ll make sure you can hear her screams from here.”
Lance lunged at her, but the door was already slammed shut. He swore as he hit the door. Shiro looked distraught, Keith visibly seething. Hunk got up to help Lance.
“What do you care if she dies?” Lance looked at Keith, who was rising up. “Why do you suddenly care about her?”
“What do you mean? I’ve always cared about her?” Lance stood up. Keith took a few steps forward.
“Oh really? Then why did you leave her? Why did you hurt her?” Lance lowered his eyes.
“I didn’t mean to. I was going to apologize after the mission. I swear.”
“Yeah, well what if you never see her after the mission? I hope your happy knowing Pidge might die thinking you hate her.” Lance opened his mouth to retort, but Shiro cut him off.
“ENOUGH.” Everyone looked at the leader. “Arguing isn’t going to bring Pidge back. Keith, apologize to Lance.” Keith looked at his feet, shoulders sagging.
“I’m sorry man. I took my anger out on you, when I shouldn’t have.” Lance swallowed.
“It’s fine. I really messed up. I shoul-” He was cut off by a shriek. Katie. The screams continued until they stopped. Eerie silence passed, as every prisoner held their breath. Then the screams started again.
“Mom, what are they doing to her?” Krolia looked away.
“It’s called water death.” Lance flinched at the name. Hunk put a hand on his shoulder. “They torture the victim with electric shocks before holding their head under water for extended periods of time. If the victim drowns, they simply shock them back to life, before repeating. It’s extremely painful, and will lead to eventual death.”
Everyone in the cell looked horrified. Katie’s screams continued to echo through the chamber. Then, silence.
Their cell door creaked open to reveal a slightly disheveled looking Coran.
Where was she? Lance burst through another cell door, only to find it empty. Like the last one, and the one before that, and the ten before that. He was starting to get frantic.
“KATIE? KATIE, WHERE ARE YOU?” Lance ran down the next hallway. The rest of the team was getting to their lions. Lance was sent to find Katie. He burst through the first door on his right, and stopped dead in his tracks at what he saw.
Katie lay on a gurney, sopping wet, stripped down to her camisole and shorts. Wires were hanging out of her arms, and stomach, and were attached to a machine that belonged in Frankenstein. She wasn’t moving. Lance ran up to her, and gently began to remove the wires. He winced as he had to pull out the needles from her skin. He caressed her cheek, and bit back a sob.
“Lance?” Her voice was hoarse for screaming, but he heard her loud and clear.
“Katie! You’re going to be just fine.” She smiled weakly, and reached up to wipe the tears from his eyes. She shook her head.
“Lance, I’m not going to make it out of here.” She took a laboured breath in. “You and I both know that.” Lance shook his head.
“No, don;t say that Katie. We have our whole lives to live together.”
“Together. That sounds nice.” Lance laughed.
“Yeah. We can get married on the castle, and our kids would be the cutest, smartest little space kids in the galaxy.” Pidge laughed, but it turned into a coughing fit.
“Aren’t you getting ahead of yourself? You haven’t even asked me out.” Lance smiled., brushing her messy locks out of her eyes.
“Katrina Holt, you are the love of my life. I’m sorry it took me so long to realize you were standing right infront of me. You are everything I could ever want, and I will never leave you again. Will you please go out with me?” Katie smiled.
“Yes.”
“Then you have to stay alive long enough for us to get out of here.” She nodded. Gently, he scooped her up, cradling her frail body to his chest. He began to run.
“Keith, power up the lion's, I’m here.” Lance panted into the coms. He ran into Red’s hanger, and gently placed Katie down. She smiled and gave him a thumbs up. He sat in the pilot's seat, and steered Red to the hanger door. As the lions left the cruiser, he let out a sigh of relief. They had made it.
“Lance, how is she?” Shiro’s voice reached through the coms. Lance smiled.
“She’s in bad shape, but she’s going to be fine. Isn’t that right Katie?” No response. “Katie?”
He ran to his lions hanger. Katie was lying on the bench, eyes closed and skin pale. Too pale. He shook her gently, as if trying to wake her up. “Katie, we made it. Open your eyes.” Silence echoed through the lion louder the any explosion.
“Lance, what’s happening?” Hunk sounded worried.
“Lance, why isn’t she responding?” Keith’s voice was shaking.
Lance was frantically trying CPR. “Come on Katie, this isn’t funny anymore. Open your eyes.”
“Lance!” Alluras voice rang out, drowning out all sobbing and cursing from the other paladins. “Lance, she’s gone. There’s nothing you can do.”
“No!” Lance snarled. Sweat was dripping down his forehead from trying to resuscitate the green paladin. “I can still save her.”
“No, you can’t Lance.” Alluras words hit him hard. She was right. Katie was gone. He bent over her body, and inhaled her scent. He cried.

The Stormsender’s Daughter | Chapter VIII | What Happened To You?
Chapter VII | Chapter VIII | Chapter IX

The bruises.
They never went away.
Two.
Four.
Seven.
Entire limbs would be covered when you were near me.
But I knew.
I knew what was happening to you.
You didn’t want to tell me.
You didn’t want to admit that even the brightest of them all could feel pain.
You wanted to give me something to believe in.
I believed you deserved better.
I knew it.
I was going to see to it.
Free you from the filth that hurt you.
One way...or another.
No matter how hard he screamed...
No matter how much he bled...

“You gonna take that?”
Prae didn’t answer. She just stared at the screen as the device sang in her palm.
Eirenne was starting to get fed up. He called her every hour nonstop and would blow up her phone if she didn’t answer once.
No matter what she was doing or who she was with.
Plus, the bruises were multiplying. Eirenne rarely saw them nowadays, but Prae was giving and returning less hugs. Distancing herself from people to keep from touching them.
She winced at nearly every motion.
Constantly complained about being in some sort of pain. Frankly, it was infuriating the silver haired princess.
And it needed to stop.
“No...no, it’s fine. I told him where I would be today”, Prae finally replied declining the call, slipping it back into her pocket.
“Okay”.
As they returned to their studies...
*ring ring*
*ring ring*
“Ugh, come on, man!!”, the Tenebraen princess slammed her fist down on the table, rolling her eyes in annoyance.
“I know, I’m sorry”, Prae scrambled for her device. “He’s enthusiastic”.
“He’s a pest!” Eirenne shouted breaking down her friend’s defense. “Honestly, what is so important that he has to be in your ear 24/7? He doesn’t even care that you’re in school most of the day!!”
Prae averted her exhausted gaze from her friend’s teal iris’ to her phone.
“His voice is probably plastered in your head by now. He can wait a few more hours”.
“Yeah...yeah...you’re right”, Prae agreed. Her voice heightening, seemingly, along with her mood and shutting her phone off for good.
“Attagirl”, Eirenne teased her friend ruffling her short, fluffy hair, sending cute little giggles floating from her throat. “Besides, I saw you first. It’s my turn to love you”.
“Yeah...he’ll be fine. He can wait a little while”, Prae affirmed as she plopped her cellular into her bag.
Finally, things were back to normal.
Days went on and Prae seemed to be back to her completely cheery self. Their conversations went back to being 90% Prae rambling like usual and Eirenne providing snarky commentary when she felt it was needed, entertaining and annoying her friend at the same time.
It was how it should be.
They were both happy.
“Uuuugggghhhh, why do we have to study during study hall anyway?”, Eirenne complained as the girls made their way to the school library.
“You’re kidding, right? That’s probably the laziest question you’ve ever asked me”, Prae judged her friend’s sluggish manner.
“It’s not like you need to study anyway, you’re doing just fine”.
“Well, duh, I know I don’t”, Prae triumphantly beamed as they sat down. “But if you don’t graduate with me and I have to hear you bitch and moan about having to take all of your classes over again, that’ll give me a permanent headache”.
“Thanks”, Eirenne chuckled.
“I mean, you do realize you have to pass math to graduate, right?”
“Unfortunately, I’m aware that I have to know how to multiply 2 and 7 to be considered a functioning adult”, the silver haired teen sarcastically joked.
“What is 2 times 7?”
“27″.
“...I can’t help you”, Prae shut the textbook in defeat sending Eirenne into a fit of laughter before being shushed by their classmates around them at the other tables.
“Shut up, stupid”, Prae whispered also in a small laughing fit. “You’re gonna get us in....”, Prae’s eyes suddenly widened and as she stared behind her friend, “...trouble”.
Confused, Eirenne turns around to see a young man dressed in black and red outside the window behind them, staring intensely at Prae.
He was a rather dashing young man from what Eirenne could see.
Fair toned skin, amber eyes, short and nicely combed.....maroon hair?
Wait...no. It can’t be...
Eirenne’s body stiffened. Her palms grew sweaty. It couldn’t be him...it’s been years.
How could he have found her? But....he didn’t seem to care for the silver haired girl rather than her innocent jade eyed friend.
“Who’s that...?”, Eirenne asked with gritted teeth, balling up one of her fists.
“My boyfriend”, Prae replied, evident fear in her voice.
Still bitterly staring at Prae, the man made his way to the back of the building.
“Um...I should go see if he’s okay”, Prae stammered as she stood from her seat.
“Wait, are you serious?!” Eirenne loudly whispered. “Did you see the look on his face?”
“It’s fine”, Prae reassured her worried friend, “he’s probably just a little bitter about me ignoring his calls. I’ll just set this straight and be right back. No sweat”.
“Really. No sweat”. Eirenne was clearly unconvinced.
“I promise. I’ll be back in a second”, the jade eyed girl smiled toward her friend before sneaking toward the bathrooms in the back of the building.
It couldn’t have been him...he was too young. His hair was much shorter...his clothes looked less...lived in, but that stare...those eyes.
Regardless of who he was, Prae was afraid...she was never afraid of anything...and what kind of coward would Eirenne be if she allowed anything to happen to her best friend?
Once the librarian retreated into her office, Eirenne silently followed her friend down the corridor to the bathrooms.
They were under construction due to foundation problems. Part of the girl’s bathroom had caved in on a student some time ago killing her.
Because of overcrowding, they were in the process of adding showers to the bathrooms, but because of the incident production had been delayed for some time.
The light flickered, but it was mostly dark. The walls had cracks for days as well as the floors and ceiling. There had been multiple cave ins around the sides of the hallway leading toward the bathrooms. Looked like no one had even bothered trying to fix it.
As Eirenne approached the bathrooms, she noticed the floors coated in water and the closer to got to her destination, she could hear voices coming from the girl’s bathroom.
Not wanting to cause alarm, she crept closer to get a view of the two of them standing by the showers...
“Stop lying to me...”.
“I’m not, sweetie, I promi-AGH!”
Eirenne lightly jumped upon hearing the slap to Prae’s flesh. Her blood beginning to boil one thousand degrees a second.
“Don’t give me that, you little whore!”
“I’m not lying to you! I’ve been here all day, you can ask Eir-egh! Gghk!”
“I’m not asking that little freak friend of yours shit”, the vicious character growled with his fist clasped upon Prae’s throat.
Desperately pawing at his wrist, tears began to stream down her fair cheeks.
“Please...I can’t breat-AH!”. A shriek sailed from her lungs as her back was slammed against the linoleum wall.
“Good”, the man hissed glaring down upon Prae. His amber gaze shifting to a lustrous gold. Like a viper squeezing the life out of his helpless prey.
“Beg for me to let you go...”.
“Please...”, Prae pleaded as he tightened his grip. “I...I can’t...breathe”.
“Yeah, just like that...”, the man hissed. “You’re gonna show me what you’re really worth alive...You filthy whore...”, the young man licked his lips before unbuttoning his shirt.
“..Pl-please, no...I-I won’t ever ignore your calls again...I swear..”, Prae helplessly whimpered as the man yanked her panties clean from her body, emitting a pained cry from the innocent Prae.
Eirenne, paralyzed at the end of the shower, began to lightly pant as her overheating blood shifted to a black. The pain keeping her to her knees as she watched her friend abuser in action...had he ever done this before?
Prae would’ve told her....wouldn’t she?
A sudden sizzling caught the attention of the silver haired girl as the white gloves coating her hands began to burn away revealing her blackened hands.
The daemonic energy within their contents infecting the rest of her body, taking over her mind, making her lose control.
With all her might she fought to keep her head....don’t lose control....don’t lose control...don’t lose...
All went silent as the young girl clasped her eyes shut....her heartbeat bursting through her eardrums.
The only other distinctive sound...
...was the clinking of metal...
...from a belt.
“RRRAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!”
A monstrous roar echoed throughout the room, before...
“AAAGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!” A blood curdling scream from the jade eyed girl upon the hand perturbing from her boyfriend’s stomach.
The man looked down toward the intrusion of his abdomen before returning his gaze to Prae whom was still in his grasp.
Regurgitating blood upon her face before shakily turning to see the fanged teen, black veins pulsating throughout her face.
Her blackened daemonic stare paralyzing him.
“You can rot with the rest of them...”, the daemon girl growled before pulling her arm back to where her hand was within his wound.
Shifting her hand upward, his violent screams pulsated through the bathroom as Eirenne inched her way through his body, her arm intruding the his internal anatomy until she reached his heart.
Clutching onto the cardiac organ, squeezing it, a field of electricity wrapped about it, sending violent jolts throughout ripping it to shreds.
The pulsations causing him to finally release the mortified Prae whom was now trapped to watch him gag on his own crimson.
Blood seeping into the cracks of the linoleum below.
Once she was released, Eirenne withdrew her arm from his body causing him to crash to the floor upon his knees in front of the tearful Prae.
Clinging to life by a thread, he slowly reached for the terrified girl just before the daemon girl summoned a telekinetic force field in the center of his brain, instantly expanding it sending shards of blood and brain throughout the entire bathroom.
Finally, sending him collapsing dead to the floor...
All that was left...was Prae.
On the floor, panting in fear, in front of her abuser’s mutilated corpse...
...and her best friend...finally realizing the truth...
“...t...that was...lightning...y...y-your hands...”.
Her stuttering voice began to soothe Eirenne back to her normal state.
Her eyes and veins returning to their proper hue...
“...you...you look just like her...Eirenne....”.
The silver haired girl merely stared at her friend, panting vigorously...
“...you’re...”.
“...the Pythoness...”.
A sudden shriek startled the girls. Abruptly turning around to see the librarian dash from the bathroom screaming for help down the corridor.
The frightened bloodstained girl sent a telekinetic pulse through the side wall.
“EIRENNE!!!”, Prae shouted toward her friend to no avail.
She had to get home.
The secret was out...
Muerlinian Zephyr was in Tenebrae.
The Pythoness was reborn.

Since i haven't made a request on here before, i will now. I personally like the idea that Jackaboy Man is actually Bossatronian Jack so maybe you could do a story where his S/O finds out he's actually Jackaboy Man and he explains that he's actually from the planet Bossatronia and that's why he has superpowers
Oooooo I like that idea, too! Alright so this’ll be an AU sort-of-thing where Jack/Jackieboy Man is from “Planet Bossatronia” and his arch-nemesis is Anti. Hope you like it~!
(And plz we need more love for our superhero boi since he has finally returned to us, after all!)…..
“P-Please..just l-let me go!”
“Awh, but where’s the fun in that, buddy?” The black and green demon sneered, pressing the blade of his sharp knife to your throat. He cackled as he watched you whimper and squirm in pain.
As he did, you could see his body start to physically glitch and twitch erratically. Least to say it was a horrifying sight to see, and a clear indication that this guy was anything but human.
And it made you all the more terrified of what else he was capable of doing.
‘Where’s Jack when I need him?!’
“L-Listen..” You stuttered as you tried to ignore the stinging pain and the feeling of the warm, red liquid trickling down your neck. “Wh-Whatever you w-want..y-you can have it. J-Just please d-don’t kill m-”
“Ya see…that’s the thing!” He growled. “I don’t want anything more than to hear ya scream~” A sly smirk appeared on his face as his eyes turned into two, black coals. “I relish in people’s fear..it makes me….stronger. And soon…I’ll be strong enough to defeat-!”
“Release them now, Antisepticeye!”
Anti’s smile faltered, and you gasped in surprise as you both looked over to see none other than Jackieboy Man himself. His arms were folded across his chest, and his eyes began to glow with bright, green energy. The green, floating eyeball of a sidekick, Super Sam, hovered next to him, glowering at their arch nemesis.“J-Jackie..” You murmured, eyes wide.
This was the same man who defended your city from everyday crooks, evil monsters, and mad scientists. More often than not, you and everybody else thank him for all that he’s done.
However, he had saved you dozens of times in the past. It was almost as if he had a sixth sense, as he always arrived just in time to save you from the danger that you were in, regardless of where you were or what time of day it was.
The superhero’s gaze softened as he saw you. “It’s gonna be okay, [y/n]..I’ll get you away from this fiend. I promi-.”
“"Jackie”??” Anti hummed in curiosity, staring at him before glancing back at you. “That’s a cute lil’ nickname…it’s almost as if…” His grin widened. “You’re someone he really cares about~! If that’s the case, then…would ya mind tellin’ me somethin’ I don’t know?”
“N-No..” You whimpered, trying not to shake your head. “I-I don’t know a-anything about him! I-I swear!”
At your response Anti’s smile faltered.
“…..ya wanna know what I do to liars like you?”
Your face became drained of its color as he pulled the knife away from you, although Anti still had you pinned to the wall. The bloodied blade glinted in the dim streetlight as he raised it up and pointed it towards your face.
Squeezing your eyes shut, you prepared for the worst.
But before he could attack, he was shocked with a bolt of electricity, before being yanked away from you and thrown towards the opposite wall. You opened your eyes back up to see the demon groaning on the ground, although he quickly jumped to his feet and dodged a punch from Jackie.
As you witnessed the two fight each other, Sam flew over to you, forming a protective, green bubble around both of you.
Green, white, and black sparks began to fly all around, bouncing off the barrier and the brick walls of the dark alleyway. A couple of late night city-goers stopped for a brief moment to see what was happening, although they quickly ran away when they saw Anti–the demon who became infamous for terrorizing the city by giving them nightmares and sabotaging their electronics.
This was the first time you had ever seen him in the flesh….and you hoped to whatever god was out there that it’d be the last.
You gasped as you saw Anti slash Jackie across the face, dangerously close to his eyes, while simultaneously the latter struck the former where the sun didn’t shine with his knee, his leg surging with green energy.
They both staggered away from each other, huffing and puffing, clearly having exhausted each other out. Anti’s hostile expression soon faltered as he fell to his knees, holding his groin.
“Fuckin’..g-gah…y-ya really packed a punch there, Jackieboy..” He grunted in pain, wheezing out a chuckle as he glanced up at the hero, whose hands were covering his face. “Awh did I…s-strike somewhere too close to-?”
The only response he got was a swift kick to the face, knocking him out cold.
Seeing that the danger had passed, Sam dissipated the bubble, allowing you to stand up. He flew over to Anti and formed another bubble around him just in case he woke up.
You brushed the dirt from your jeans, before looking up to see that Jackie’s back was turned to you. But in his hands you noticed he was holding his blue mask, which had been torn in half during his fight.
“J-Jackie?”
The superhero tensed up. ‘No…no, no, no! I..I can’t let them find out who I am…’ He thought worriedly as he fumbled with the mask, thinking that it would somehow put itself back together.
When he felt a hand on his shoulder, he jumped, dropping the fabric pieces. “N-No! Don’t look!” He cried, burying his face back into his hands.
You blinked in confusion. “Jackie…it’s..it’s okay.”
But he shook his head. With a sigh, you tried to force him to turn around, but when he did he collapse to his knees. “I-I c-can’t…” His voice cracked as he spoke. “I-I can’t l-let you-”
“Woah hey..hey…” You sat down in front of him, trying to pry his hands away from his face. “Jackie..listen..it’s alright. I swear on my life I won’t reveal your identity to anyone…and no matter who you really are, I’m not gonna judge, okay? You can trust me…just as I’ve trusted you with my life dozen of times in the past.”
After several long moments of hesitation, Jackie came to the realization that he was gonna have to reveal the truth to you…but he only prayed that you wouldn’t be mad.
“O-Okay..” With a shuddering breath, he put his hands down, and your eyes widened in shock.
“Jack?! Y..You’re Jackieboy Man?”
He nodded, giving you a shaky smile. Although deep down…he knew that you were probably going to leave him, or run away screaming.
But, to his shock, instead of doing either of those things, you actually hugged him tightly.
“[Y/n]..?”
You pulled away, placing your hands on his shoulders. He tried to search your face for anything that indicated that you were angry with him..but he found nothing. Your expression was unreadable.
“Tell me.”
Jack blinked slowly. “Wh..What?”
“Tell me everything.”………..
For what seemed like hours, you and Jack sat there in the alleyway. He told you everything about himself: how he was from the planet “Bossatronia”–which you thought was just a made-up planet your parents told you stories about during your childhood–, how he acquired his superpowers, how he met Sam….everything.
And while he did, Sam was guarding the still unconscious Anti, shocking him back into unconsciousness if he woke up.
After it was all said and done, you hugged Jack once more.
“You…aren’t mad at all?” He muttered in confusion, although he did return the embrace.
“Of course not…but..I just wish you would’ve told me about this sooner..”
“I know..” The hero sighed as he put his head on your shoulder, guilt creeping up in his throat. “…I’m sorry..”
“It’s okay,” you reassured him as you rubbed his back. “But I probably should’ve known from the start that the names “Jack” and “Jackieboy Man” seemed a little too similar.”
Jack chuckled lightly in response. “Yeah..it’s a dumb alias I came up with on the fly. I should change it to something like-”
“Nah, I think it’s a badass name.”
“You really think so?” He lifted his head up to stare at you with surprise.
You nodded, giving him a smile. “Yep. I say keep it. Now…after we take care of Anti there, we oughta head home and patch up that mask of yours. You gotta keep your identity hidden to everyone else, right?”
He blinked slowly, before glancing behind him to see his torn mask still on the ground. With a sigh, he reached over and collected the two pieces, gripping them tightly in his fingers.
For a few moments longer he stared at it, although eventually he looked back at you and nodded in agreement, his smile returning.
“Right..let’s go.”

Scribble-Doodle: As Who I Am
This is a death story, a what-if ficlet set in 219. What if it went down differently? What if they were less lucky, fighting the Forsaken in the cemetery?
They kill all the Forsaken in the cemetery, down there, in the shadowy tomb. And when the last one falls… so does Alec.
First his bow clutters to the ground, dropped from numb fingers, and then slowly, he sinks to his knees and falls over, hitting the dirty floor with a pained groan.
“Alec!” Clary exclaims and she’s right there, by his side, immediately. “Alec! Alec, what’s wrong?” she asks anxiously, and setting her Seraph Blade aside, she turns him onto his back gently - and her hands come away red, covered with his blood.
Alec gasps for breath and his face’s pale, his chin splattered with blood now trickling from his mouth. “Did we… did we get them all? Are they--” he croaks out, then his voice falters. He coughs and more blood stains his lips.
“Where are you hurt?” Clary demands desperately, ignoring his questions. She pushes his leather jacket aside and his t-shirt up - she notices it’s soaked with blood, though the stains don’t show on the dark material - and when she uncovers his stomach, she gasps.
His flesh is sliced open and blackened around the torn edges, his skin’s already turning gray and cold and the blood welling from his wounds is turning from red to black ichor.
“It’s-it’s alright, it’s alright, I’ll fix this, you’ll be just-just fine, I’ll fix this,” Clary keeps stammering, fumbling for her stele, as tears start burning in her eyes and then spilling over. She tries to wipe them away, leaving bloody streaks on her cheeks.
“D-don’t!” Alec orders harshly and grabs her hand when she finally pulls out her stele and tries to activate his iratze rune.
Clary tries to pull away but his grip is surprisingly strong. “Alec, let go. I have heal you! The wounds are bad but you can heal, you’ll be fine, just let me--”
“No!” He shakes his head firmly, his eyes locked on hers. When he continues, his voice’s softer. “No. It’s For-Forsaken poison. Either the c-cuts kill me - or I get turned, there’s no th-third option. And I don’t, I don’t want to turn… into that” --his free hand flops in the direction where the Forsaken have fallen-- “turn on y-you. I would rather die, as m-me, as who I am.”
Clary shakes her head adamantly. “No. That’s not… no, Alec. No!”
“Yes,” he breathes out as more blood bubbles up on his lips, this time stained with black as the poison spreads through his body.
She keeps shaking her head. “You can’t die, not here, not like that. You can’t! Why didn’t you tell Izzy that you were hurt?” Because he did not get hurt while fighting by her side, she would’ve noticed, she wouldn’t have... she wouldn’t have let that happen. She had his back, damn it, she did! She did!
A small smile flashes across his lips. “Because then she wouldn’t ha-have gone. And Jace… Jace needed help.”
“Oh God,” she whispers, “Jace. He’s your parabatai. He--”
“--will need someone,” Alec interrupts her, his breath stuttering. “Someone to love, to love him. Uncondi-ditionally. Always. Someone like y-you.”
Clary leans closer and rests her free hand gently on the top of his head. “Don’t think about this right now, okay? Don’t talk like this! We need to figure out how to help you! Then Jace will have you and it’ll be alright!”
But he refuses to listen. “Promise me, Clary,” he rasps out. “Promis-se me that you’ll love him. He needs-s you. He’ll need you s-so badly. Please, Clary.” He shakes her wrist though his strength is waning. “Please.”
“Alright, alright,” she rushes to say to calm him down. “I promise, Alec, I promise. But now we have to take care of you! You have to let me take care of you. There has to be something, some… some rune to stop this.”
Clary’s now crying openly as she looks up at the cracked vaulted ceiling above their heads. “Come on! Give me a sign! Show me a rune that will help him! Show me! Ithuriel! Angels! Come on!”
“Clary,” Alec says gently, letting go of her, letting his hand drop to the cold floor, “it w-won’t work. There’s no… no cure for Fors-saken poison.”
She looks down at him, desperate but still unwilling to give up. “Maybe not an angelic one, but there has to be something! There has to be--” Then she gets an idea. “I’ll call Magnus! He’ll know what to do, he always knows what to do! He’ll help you, you’ll see!” she blurts out and her face brightens as she pulls her cellphone out of her pocket and dials Magnus’ number.
Alec voice turns even quieter. “He won’t pick… up.”
“No, no, he will,” she states with conviction. “He’s our friend! He loves you! He’ll pick up.”
“Clary…”
“Come on, come on,” she mutters as the the phone keeps ringing--
“... thank you for trying.”
--and then there’s a beep and Clary freezes. Call rejected. No.
Pulling her phone away from her ear, she tries again. And again. The number you have called is currently...
“No, it’s… it’s a mistake, it must be a mistake,” Clary says as she quickly scrolls through her phone list. “I’ll just call Luke and he’ll get in touch with Magnus and--”
She stops. Because Alec isn’t listening anymore. His eyes are wide-open and unblinking and his chest doesn’t move. The black ichor that stopped flowing from his wounds as his heart ceased beating is now just trickling sluggishly down his gray skin.
Alec’s dead. He died and she didn’t even notice.
“No, no,” Clary whispers and her phone clutters to the floor as it falls from her numb hands. “No, Alec, no. Please.”
She leans over him and she cries for him. He was her friend. Their start was rocky, true, but then he became her friend, their love for Jace the bridge that spanned all their differences. And now he’s dead. Just like her mother.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” Clary whispers to him. “I’ll tell them, Izzy and Jace, that you thought about them before you died and that you loved them. I’ll tell them.” And then she adds, even more quietly, “And I’ll keep my promise, I swear. I’ll love Jace as much as you wanted me to. I’ll watch out for him.”
And then she closes Alec’s eyes and sits there, by his side, holding his hand, waiting for the others to find them.

<<<PREVIOUSLY ON BETTER FOR ME
Tumblr media
Four hours was not long enough. To say you didn’t want to arrive home to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was an understatement. Bucky took a hold of your small hands and pressed it against his warm mouth.
“What’s on your mind?” He whispers,
“I don’t know if I should’ve taken you home.”
“You don’t want me there?” His faced dropped and he sighed,
“What? No, no, of course I want you there, I just, I don’t know what you’ll think of me after.”
“Look,” He turned your head to face him, “look at me, doll,” he kissed you softly, “no matter the outcome of this, I’ll still be here, okay?”
“Buck, you can’t make that promis-”
“Yes, I can, if I have to spend the rest of my life showing you, I will.”
“You’re a silly, man, James Buchanan Barnes.” You smiled,
“I feel something good coming out of this.” He leans in to kiss you and you rest your hands on his face, smiling against his lips.
The plane landed shakily, your hand gripping Bucky’s hand tightly. It wasn’t because you feared the plane. You were afraid to go home. You only go home to see your little sister, to check if she’s okay. To make sure what happened to you, doesn’t happen to her. Your daily phone calls weren’t enough. You wanted to see her, you just couldn’t afford to fly home every weekend or every other week, you also couldn’t afford bringing her to New York to live with you, so Christmas was the only time she could see you. Bucky took your hand and you both headed out of the airport, the breeze making your hands feel like ice. You hauled a taxi and packed your bags in the trunk, entering the cigarette smell filled vehicle.
The car ride was silent, just the sound of the radio playing ‘Jessie’s Girl’ by Rick Springfield which Bucky was tapping his foot to. You arrived at the house after thirty minutes. It was still concealed from the sunlight, almost foreshadowing the evil within it. You let out a big huff as you walked out of the yellow car, paying the cab fare, Bucky grabbing the bags from the back. You walked to the front door of the house and knocked. You heard hurried footsteps, almost instantly knowing who it was. The front door swung open.
“Lily!” You opened your arms as she jumped atop of you, “Hi, sweetheart, I missed you so much!” You gripped her tightly,
“I missed you too, Y/N.”
“I want you to meet someone.” You dropped her on the ground and stepped back so she could take a look at your Bucky, “Lily, this is Bucky, my boyfriend, Bucky this is Lily, she’s my sister.”
“Nice to meet you, Bucky.” She said holding out her hand for him to shake. Bucky let out a chuckle and shook her small hand,
“You too,” she nodded and gave him a smile, “you know, for a-”
“Ten-year-old she has a good grip?” You finished his sentence,
“Yeah, how’d you…”
“She gets it from her big sister, a lady who has a good grip, shows?” You implied for her incoming,
“Shows strength and independence!” She chirped in,
“Good girl.” Bucky saw your eyes light up, the more you looked at your sister, something he’d never really seen before, “It’s a little chilly out here, you gonna let us in, kid?” She nodded and let you both inside, running off through the hallway. Bucky grabbed your arm before going in, crashing you into him for a kiss. He pulled away as the air from your lungs began to cut out, “What was that for?”
“You just… Never cease to amaze me.” You playfully pushed him and laughed, leading him inside.
You were met with a façade of love. Your mother, Jean, and your step-father, Sean, in the kitchen dancing to the slow music coming from the radio near the fridge. You rolled your eyes and cleared your throat. They were caught by surprise and turned to face the figures at the door.
“Y/N, dear! We’re so happy you could be home!” She rushed to you and gave you a hug, which you returned,
“I’m happy to be home too, mom.”
“You’ve grown since last Christmas, Y/N.” A voice behind your mother snuck in,
“Sean.”
“We’ve missed you, darling.” You almost gagged at his pet name, you gave him warning eyes not to come near you in which he refrained from doing so,
“Who’s this dashing young man?” Your mother asked,
“Oh, yeah, um, this is my boyfriend, James Barnes.” Sean made his way over to Bucky with prying eyes, almost as if to attack your boyfriend. He roughly gripped Bucky’s hand for a handshake,
“Nice to meet you, both of you.” He says politely. You look at Sean whose eyes were sneering at your boyfriend,
“Well,” your mother started, “dinner will be ready in fifteen minutes and I assume you’ll both be staying in your old room together, so why don’t you both get up there and get ready for dinner and unpack?”
“Thanks mom.”
Exiting the kitchen was like exiting a war zone; something was lifted from you but you knew going back in, all the troubles would start again. You let out a big huff as you took the last step into your room, Bucky following right beside you. As you closed the door, Bucky took you in his arms in an embrace.
“Are you sure you’re okay?” He asks, your face pressed up against his chest, you nod even though you weren’t really sure what you were feeling. He pulled you away, shortly after rubbing your back comfortingly. He lifted your head to face him and then leaned down to place a soft kiss on your lips, “I don’t know what’s wrong but you’re gonna be okay, babe, I’ll be right here.”
Dinner was silent except for your mother trying to shut you and Lily up at the dinner table. It wasn’t until Sean asked Bucky what he did for a living did the tension between the two men rise but it barely rose. When the silence came back, Sean didn’t shy away from openly showing his dislike towards Bucky and Bucky felt it. Bucky’s fork made a screeching sound as he played around with his food, not knowing what to do with a situation like this. Jean only smiled at Bucky while trying to quieten you and Lily. Moments after, she began collecting everyone’s plates.
“Hey, mom, I’ve got some laundry and I saw some upstairs, do you want me to do those for you?” You suggested,
“Yes please, if you don’t mind.”
“Is the laundry detergent already out back?” You asked. Your mother nodded and thanked you as you went upstairs to grab the laundry, Bucky following behind you, “I’ll be out in the laundry shed for about thirty minutes, you alright in here, babe?” He nodded and gave you a kiss on the cheek. You collected your laundry and put them in the basket, then went around the rooms to collect the rest of it.
You greeted you mother once again in the kitchen, a chuckle making its way through your lips as she cracked a joke. You stepped out and felt the cool breeze hit your face. You walked around the corner to the side of the house, opened the door to the shed and started unloading the clothes from the basket and into the washing machine. You hummed as you separated the colours of the clothes, not hearing the door creek.
“Your boyfriend is something else, huh?” The sound of his voice made your insides sink, your whole body froze into place, the hamper dropping onto the floor, “Oh, my little darling…” You heard his footsteps draw closer behind you,
“Please- I just- I want to-”
“You’re mine, haven’t you learned?” You felt his breath on your neck, his finger making its way around and feeling the skin which covered your collarbone. You couldn’t help but sob, “You don’t need to cry, I know this is what you want.”
“Sean, I d-don’t-” Your heart was beating so fast when his hand trailed from your back, down to your ass. A single tear escaping your eye, his hands slid from your behind and to your front. Your breathing began to fasten in panic.
Lily couldn’t really spend time without you when you came home. She followed you everywhere, even as far to wait for you outside the bathroom. She loved you. She skipped along the footpath to the laundry room in excitement to tell you about a cute boy at school. Just outside the shed she heard your sobs, she peaked through the cracks and covered her mouth from what she saw. Sean had you bent over the washing machine as you sobbed. You caught a glimpse of Lily and looked at her with pleading eyes, she tip toed away from the shed and ran off when she got the stairs of the house. She ran into the house and up the stairs, passing her mother entering the master bedroom. She rushed into your room, where Bucky was on the phone to Steve, discussing the wedding.
Lily heaved a breath in and out, her eyes welling with tears. Bucky took one look at the panicked little girl and ended the call with Steve, telling him that the wedding could wait for just one moment. He bent down to face her and rubbed her arms to calm her down.
“Hey, hey, it’s alright.” He said comfortingly,
“Y/N.”
“Y/N? What’s wrong with Y/N?” His tone changed but still underlaid with comfort,
“Sean…” Lily huffed, “She’s in the laundry room with Sean.” Bucky’s eyes widened, remembering the only thing that Natasha had told him. He lifted himself up from the floor and rushed down the stairs. He swung the door open and didn’t take a second to look at the scene before him, he roughly pulled Sean away from you, making Sean land across the small shed. Within seconds, you’d dropped to the floor and Bucky was on top of Sean, punching him.
“Don’t... fucking… touch… her again!” He puffed out, lifting his fist from Sean’s face, he turned to face you, caressing your mascara stained cheeks, “Baby, Y/N, look at me, you’re okay… Fuck, Y/N, I’ve got you.” He saw Lily and slid himself towards her, “Lily, I need you to be a big girl and stay her with your sister for two minutes.” Lily nodded and sat beside you. Bucky ran into the house and up into your room. He zipped up your suitcases and rushed downstairs with them in hand. He placed them near the front door and ran back to you, “Lily, I need you to be honest with me, okay?” She nodded, “Has he ever tried to touch you before?” She shook her head ‘no’, “Are you sure?”
“Yes, I promise.”
“I need you to go into your room and lock the door, okay? We’re gonna come back for you, sweetheart, I need to make sure Y/N’s okay first.” She nodded and ran off into the house and into her room, locking the door behind her.
“B-Bucky, I-I’m so sorry.” You cried,
“Don’t you dare apologise for this monster,” He says helping you up, “we’re getting out of here.” He carried you in his arms out the door and dialled a cab before grabbing the bags, placing them in the back when the cab arrived shortly after. The cab took you to the nearest motel, your sobs filling the vehicle the whole ride through. He paid for the motel and carried you inside with your bags. Your sobs had stopped temporarily but once he had set you down on the bed, it started again. He made his way beside you, embracing you tightly, and your hands gripping onto his shirt as you cried into him, “Shhh… It’s okay, Y/N, he will never touch you again, I won’t leave you, Y/N, shh…”
“I was- I was stuck and I couldn’t move, I couldn’t scream, I tried, Bucky.”
“It’s not your fault, you hear me? It wasn’t your fault.”
“We have to get Lily, she’s not safe there, I don’t want her there.”
“We’ll take her back to New York.”
“Buck, she won’t be able to go to school, I can’t pay for her scho-”
“Y/N, my mom knows the principal at Hunter College Elementary, we could send her there.”
“Bucky…” You looked up at him with widened eyes,
“We can’t keep her here, Y/N.” You knew he was right,
“I’ll call my mom in the morning and tell her Lily can spend the last semester with me.”
“You need to rest up, okay?” You nodded, laying into the bed. Bucky got up but you grabbed his arm,
“Don’t leave me.”
“Never.” He laid down next to you and placed a kiss on you head.
Your mother approved Lily’s leave from their home. Lily was excited to go to New York with you, her clothing and valuables already packed when you arrived at their front doorstep to get her. You gave your mother a kiss before leaving and squeezed Lily’s hand on the way to the airport. On the plane, Lily crossed her legs on the chair, Bucky on her left side and you on the right side. Her earphone dug within her ears, drowning out the mechanic sounds of the plane. You gently squeezed her arm to get her attention. She took out her earphones and gave you a smile.
“Lil, you know why we’re taking you to New York, right?” You asked in a whisper,
“Because Sean is a dick.” Bucky couldn’t help but chuckle,
“Bucky!” You exclaimed, giving him a light tap on the knee before turning back to face Lily, “That’s one way to go about it but maybe don’t use that word.”
“You’re gonna take care of me, right?”
“Of course, sweetheart, you know I’ve always got your back.”
“And I’ve got yours, Y/N.” You gave her a kiss on her forehead,
“Thank you for last night, Lily, for telling Bucky, you really had my back.”
“That’s okay,” She took yours and Bucky’s hands and connected them together, “I’m happy that you found someone to love.”
“Lily! You can’t just-”
“Y/N, it’s fine, don’t worry about it.” Bucky says laughing. He lifts your hand up to his lips and gives it a soft kiss, Lily clapping her little hands with a first prize winning smile.
“Y/N, what about school?” Lily asks curiously,
“Bucky’s mom knows the principal at an elementary school in New York, we’ve got you covered.”
“I spoke to my mom this morning and it turns out, this guy owes my mom and massive favour so you’re already enrolled and they’re waiting for you.” Bucky gives her a soft smile and she then wraps her arms around Bucky’s neck and hugs him,
“Thank you.” Bucky rubs her back comfortingly, telling her that it was no trouble. The more you looked at Bucky with your sister, the more you thought that maybe Lily was right, maybe there is a part of you that’s starting to fall for him or already have fallen for him.
Two hours into the flight, Lily had fallen asleep on you. Her soft snore making it obvious that she had not had a goodnight’s sleep. You turn your head away from your book and look at Bucky who was already looking at you with a grin.
“Do I have something on my face? Why are you looking at me like that?” You asked,
“Nothing,” he whispers, “you’re just… Beautiful.”
“What am I to do with you, Bucky Barnes?”
“Love me.”
“In due time.”
“I’ll always wait for you, you know that Y/N? I have never felt this way about anyone.” He took your hand and kissed it, “I’m always gonna be here for you.”
“Thank you, Bucky.”
A week had passed since the Thursday before and everything seemed peaceful. Lily had started school and Bucky hadn’t been called for duty. You’d dropped off Lily at school and you and Bucky had breakfast at a café just thirty minutes from your place. There was something about the way he was looking at you that morning.
When you got home, Bucky’s hands were on your hips, his lips on your back, making their way onto your neck. You leaned head onto him as his hands moved their way up to your breasts, taking your shirt off along with his movements, and your hands making their way into his hair, gripping tightly. You moaned and led him to your bedroom. You laid down as you kissed him, arching your back as you felt his mouth drag down onto your chest.
Suddenly, memories flashed through your head. Your breathing got faster and your eyes opened wide, screaming.
“Y/N! Y/N, what’s wrong?” He asked, trying to embrace you. You flinched away from him and cried, covering yourself from his view,
“I think- I think you should leave, Bucky.”
“Y/N…”
“Please, I think this is for the best.”
“Whatever it is, we can work it out, Y/N, please.” You kept sobbing as he tried to hold you,
“Bucky! Can’t you see what happened!? I’m going to keep remembering him if we do this, I can’t, I don’t want to remember him every time you touch me!”
“I-I’m sorry, it won’t happen again.”
“You’re a guy, Bucky, there’s only one thing on your mind.” You said cold heartedly,
“You seriously think that that’s the only thing on my mind?” You sat their silently as he stood up and you heard him sob, “I understand, Y/N.” He left the room and you heard the door close, not a sense of anger left behind. You cried and sobbed. Natasha found you in your room still in the same position. She grabbed you into her arms as you sobbed and just like your heart and your eyes, the clouds of New York City began to darken and rain fell profusely.

Take a Break
A/N: It's March break finally! So, since I finally have the time, here's a little fic I thought of while at school one day.
Word Count: 1, 942
Warnings: Just swearing.
Genre: Angst and Fluff. My faves
 Your POV
I got into this relationship knowing the consequences of his work. He'd have times where he was busy, and didn't have time to spend with me. I understood that, so whenever those times came, I stepped away and was there for him. I kept my mouth shut and I dealt with it until he finally had time. It's just what I did as a supportive girlfriend. Every. Time.
This time was different though. Usually these spurts of working last about a week, two at the most. This time around it lasted a bit more over a month. I love Dan, and I know he needs to work but as selfish as it sounds, I did want attention, and love. All I wanted to do was cuddle up next to him but this time around he didn't even let me do that. I knew he was stressed, but it started to take a toll on our relationship. Most nights I would go to sleep alone, then wake up alone. Pretty much my whole day was me being alone. I tried to pull Dan away from his work so he can take a break but him being the perfectionist he is, he kept working anyway. It got to the point where he'd ignore the things I was saying because he was too focused on his work. I kept biting my tongue until now. But I finally snapped when he started acting rude to me.
I was sitting in his office, obviously, he was working on the computer. I was scrolling through my phone, and I looked up at him every few minutes. His eyes were glued to the screen as per usual. I let out a loud sigh and walked over to his chair, wrapping my arms around his shoulders.
"Dan, take a break honey. You've been working too hard." I kissed his cheek and stared up into his eyes, which were still glued to the screen.
"You tell me this every day, and every day I say I still need to work. Leave me alone, Y/N. I'm busy." He rolled his shoulder back, pushing my arm off his shoulder.
I scoff, walking towards the door, "Because I totally couldn't tell you're busy Daniel." I heard a loud sigh come from behind me, and I turned in the doorframe, crossing my arms and staring at Dan.
"What's wrong?" Dan sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"I don't know Dan. You tell me."
"Love, I don't know-"
"Oh don't you dare call me love. You barely paid any attention to me these past few weeks…this past month!" I finally had enough with his shit. I gesticulated to emphasize how angry I was.
"It's because I've been working Y/N! You know, that thing that people have to get money." Dan replied sarcastically, getting up from his chair. I walked towards him, trying to seem intimidating but his height compared to mine beat me every time.
"I am fully aware of that, Daniel. But you don't have to be working 24/7! I try to spend time with you but you brush me off! You don't even come to bed anymore!" I could feel my face heat up out of frustration. I felt tears sting my eyes but I pushed them back, I needed to be strong.
"I'm busy, what don't you get about that?" Dan's voice got louder.
"I do understand it Daniel. You know why? Because I deal with it every time you are 'busy'. I normally keep my mouth shut but god have I had enough. Do you even want me here anymore? I feel like I'm just a burden to you now!" I stared into Dan's eyes to see some sort of reaction. His facial expression softens for a second, and he mumbles something incoherently.
"Hm?" I moved closer to Dan, who was staring at the ground. I touched his arm but he pulled it away.
"Leave then!" Dan yelled, backing away from me. I stared at him in shock, and saw the instant regret on his face.
"Okay." I mumbled quietly, walking backwards still staring at Dan. Did he stop loving me? I felt the tears threatening to spill again but I kept trying to push them back. His facials expression softened, and he took a step towards me.
"I am so sorry baby; I didn't mean it please don't leave." Dan's voice cracked. He reached his hand for me but I backed away. "Please don't leave me." Before I could give into Dan's plea, I turned around to grab my phone off the side table, and headed down the stairs to the front door of our flat. I heard Dan mumbling apologies as he followed me down the stairs, but I ignored them.
I got to the front door, sliding on my shoes and throwing my coat on when Dan stopped me again.
"No no no, I didn't mean it love, I didn't mean it, please stay." I finally looked up at Dan and saw tears running down his face. He choked back a sob when I took another step away from him.
"Dan I-"
"I know I'm terribly sorry please don't leave me." Dan sobbed, grabbing my arm and pulling me into an embrace. He held me tight, like he never wanted to let go again. I was reluctant to hug back, but decided to stay strong. I kept my arms by my side as I felt tears hit the top of my head. When I finally had enough, I pushed him away and Dan started crying more.
"I know I fucked up, lov- Y/N," Dan paused, remembering that I told him not to call me love earlier, "but please don't leave. I need you, and I love you. I know I'm a terrible boyfriend but I promi-"
I finally gave into Dan; I couldn’t take seeing him like this. So, I rested my hand on his cheek. He instantly leaned into my touch, as I wiped away some of his tears. He pulled his hand up, and rested it on mine.
"I just need air, okay Dan? I'll be back in a few minutes." I said, giving him a soft smile. Seeing Dan like this broke my heart, and I loved him too much and it hurt me seeing like this. After trying to be strong for so long, I let a few tears drop. I heard Dan hold back another sob, taking his hand away from mine and backing away like he was scared he'd hurt me even more. I could tell Dan felt guilty for saying it, I saw it in his eyes that it hurt him to know that he caused this. I gave another reassuring smile, then turned to open the door.
I started walking down the stairs of the complex. When I got to the bottom, I heard stumbling from above me, and somebody mumble a soft "ow". I turned around to see Dan struggling to get his coat on as he runs down the stairs. When he got to the bottom I stared at him with a confused look on my face.
"Um…Dan, what are you doing?"
"Coming with you." Dan simply stated. He walked passed me, and opened the door, gesturing for me to walk out first. I walked out, still confused about what he was doing. I walked out into the cold London streets, and looked around before turning back to Dan.
"Dan, when I said I needed air, I meant alone." I emphasized my last word, but I knew Dan was too stubborn to go back into our flat.
"I know. But I would be an even more terrible boyfriend if I just let you be alone. I promise I won't talk if you want silence." Dan gave me his infamous smirk, and shrugged his shoulders. I rolled my eyes at him, chuckling at his crazy antics, then grabbed his hand. We walked in silence through the cold, busy streets to calm down and think about what just happened. After 10 minutes of walking around in silence, our hands still intertwined, I decided to go into a Starbucks to warm up.
"Go take a seat, I'll order for you." Dan said, letting go of my hand and pointing towards some seats. I walked away, taking a seat as I watched Dan take our orders. Even after a fight, he was still a sweetheart.  He kept looking back at me every few minutes, as if to make sure I was okay. Which, at this point I was. The moment Dan followed me out the door I forgave him for mostly everything. I just wanted to hear him explain why he said what he did. He walked over to our table, our drinks in hand and he gently places them down. He takes the seat across from me, and takes a sip and places his drink down. I was staring at the floor for a while, deep in thought. I looked up to Dan and saw him staring back at me with admiration.
"What?" I chuckled. He smiled down at the ground, then looked up to me again with a soft look.
"I thought I was gonna lose you to be honest." Dan softly said, looked out the window of the Starbucks, staring into the streets. Dan turned back to me, and grabbed my hand from across the table.
"Well you did tell me to leave." I laughed coldly. It was true, I had to state the obvious. He shot me an apologetic look, and squeezed my hand.
"I didn't mean to. I was stressed, and frustrated. More with myself than you. It's just-" he readjusts himself in his seat, so he's leaning closer to me. "I couldn't believe I made you feel like a burden, and that you thought I didn't love you anymore. I don't know what came over me and it was inexcusable what I said to you. But what you should know is that I would never actually mean to say that."
I gave him a smile, furrowing my eyebrows when I did. "It's okay Dan."
"But it's not okay, Y/N. I've treated you terribly these past few weeks and it's not okay." Dan let go of my hand and stared at the ground like it was the most interesting thing ever. Knowing Dan, he was probably overthinking this, thinking that at some point I would actually leave him. I didn't know what to say so I blurted out the first thing that came to mind.
"I love you too, Dan."
"What?" Dan looked up at me again, chuckling a bit at my random outburst.
"I don't know." I laughed. "I felt weird not saying it back in our flat. I just want you to know that I love you too."
Dan laughed at me, shaking his head. However, he got serious quickly again. "I don't know how to make it up to you, love."
"As cheesy and cliché as this sounds, you already did when you walked out that flat with me. You being here now is enough." Dan smiled at me, staring into my eyes before opening his mouth then closing it again. "What is it honey?" I squeezed his hand.
"Can I kiss you?" He asked.
I laughed at his question. Did he need to ask? "Why are you asking?"
"I'm not sure if you wanted me to after what happened." Dan shrugged.
I laughed more shaking my head. I let go of his hand, and leaned over the table to give him a soft, loving kiss. He grabbed my cheeks, and gently kissed back.
A/N: Honestly didn't know how to finish it so I sort of just left it there.
