Ok like I don’t hate Fiona Gallagher I believe she is one of if not the best character in the show. She is by FAR not my favorite, but I don’t hate her. I just hate the narrative I think a lot of fans built around her, where she is the best older sister ever and all her faults and mistakes can be forgiven because she was forced into being a caretaker at a very young age. Like she is interesting BECAUSE she is a terrible person and, frankly, just an on sister, that is the draw for ALL the Gallaghers. Just because she was forced to help her siblings does not mean she doesn’t hurt them constantly. The conflicts that arise from Fiona’s actions are what makes the show good and Fiona is a good character because we get to unpack her actions through the lens of her past.

Spoilers for spy x family mange up to and including chapter 35 (also long post)

We just saw episode 19 of the anime and the preview for episode 20 that clearly shows the chapter where anya goes to loid’s work for the day AND where we first see fiona. I’m almost positive they are going to stretch that chapter into an entire episode and maybe throw in a small extra at the end. BUT the problem I have is that afterwards (assuming the episodes follow the main storyline like they have so far) we should actually meet fiona aka nightfall. Which is kind of a problem for the bullet in the butt date chapter.

The whole premise for that date is that loid thinks yor is mad at him when in reality she was shot in the ass on an assignment. The whole point of the chapter is that loid was worried for nothing and everything with yor is fine. 

... which gets ruined if they animate chapter 30 before extra mission 2 because the second fiona shows up in the manga she starts laying down a foundation for yor’s insecurities. She literally tells yor that loid is miserable with her. 

Which means if they air this chapter and then the shot in the ass chapter, there WILL be something wrong with yor. Because she’s insecure about Fiona, which we see in chapter 35 where they have a date to solve that problem. For both dates to make sense and still keep the same feeling from the manga they HAVE to animate extra mission 2 after episode 20, which I’m not sure they will.

After settling into a job as Beacon Academy's head nurse, Fiona had thought her traveling days were behind her - but then again, she hadn't been expecting Beacon to fall. Nobody had but those who had orchestrated it. Her past failures had been joined by all new ones, the medic weeping for more young lives she couldn't save. With the academy gone, Fiona had seen no other path than to take up a job in Vale - but eventually she could no longer stand the guilt, the nagging feeling that she should be doing more, and had decided to once again take up her old work. People all across Remnant needed help, and she wanted to be there for them when nobody else was.

Her travels had taken her to Anima, where she was currently staying in a small village on the outskirts of Mistral. They had been dealing with the aftermath of a Grimm attack when she'd arrived, and Fiona had decided to stay around for a week or so whilst the wounded recovered. Her patients tended to for the moment however, the healer now had some time to relax. She had made her way to the village's tavern, where she had warmly greeted the tavernkeeper and ordered a simple cup of tea.

During her time here, she had counted herself lucky to get to know most of the village's residents. However, the man seated not too far away was a face she didn't recognise - a Faunus too, it seemed - if the ears atop his head were any indication. Curiosity piqued, the woman swivels on her stool to face him, offering a kind and welcoming smile.

"I don't recognise you as one of the villagers. A fellow traveller, perhaps? You don't have to sit over there all alone, you know." She attempts to spark a conversation, though if he had no interest in talking, she would of course respect his privacy.
