How do you edit the logos off the photos? I've really admired how sleek your edits and gifs look, but whenever I try to remove the logos off pics it looks very weird :(
Hi!! Sorry this took me a while to reply to!!! Firstly, thank you so much for liking my work 🥺💖 !! It means a lot;;
I'll quickly give you an explanation under the cut. However, because this isn't something I can really give a "tutorial" in, I decided I'd just give some basic pointers/tips, and then make an example video for you to get the idea of the process!
I really do hope this is helpful! If you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask!!!

So, basically the most important tool to master when removing logos, words, text, etc., is the clone stamp tool!
Tumblr media
This tool basically, paints with pixels that are already existing within the image itself! This is great because, not only does it pick up the original images colours, patterns, etc., but it also pics up the textures that the original image has. Things like noise that is already on the image are easier to replicate with this naturally, and therefore, the image won't look weird when certain patches don't have that texturing!
I also will also (not often) use the brush tool and spot healing tool. But honestly, more often than not I use the clone stamp tool as well as the eraser tool for corrections.
My first bit of advice is to work on multiple layers and not the original image! This makes it easier to see what you've changed and what is going wrong/right. It also makes it easier to change layer opacity and layer styles if you need to.
Second, when using the clone stamp tool, sample from areas that are similar, and if you can't get the exact shade you're looking for, check other areas of the picture. But if that doesn't work, think about opacity, layer style, etc.! All these things are important.
Third, if your image is of a big area, like the one I did, odds are, there are little things that will NOT be noticeable... I promise you, I've made tons of little errors even in the video I included, but from afar, those mistakes are seriously not visible, because we tend to look at images as a whole. You might notice it more because you're the one doing the work and you'll be critical towards your work but I promise, if there's small little mistakes here and there, no one will notice!
Fourth, and probably the most important part, when doing this kind of removal of text/logos/whatever it may be, there may be a certain part of the image where you can't exactly understand what underneath the thing might look like. Whatever is covering that area, it can be difficult to come up with a general idea of what below that text could look like, and in these situations, you really have to trust your own judgement and your eyes and sense of style and just be like 'Well.. I think this is going to work better than that.' Towards the end of my video actually, you can kind of see I change one of the shadows on the pants. When I zoomed out and looked at it as a whole, personally, that shadow felt weird and kinda out of place for me! Maybe someone else might've kept it in, but when I looked at it, it didn't feel right! So, I removed that part of the shadow, lighting it as I went.
And that's basically it! The only other thing I can say is, you really do get better with time! I've been doing this sorta thing for probably over 5 years now, so I've had a lot of practice. But I can promise you when I first started, my removal of logos and stuff really was........ horrendous...... But!!! You can do it! Just take your time and don't rush! For the example above, I took about, 1.5 hours to do the whole thing total, so don't worry if it takes a while, just be patient and don't strain yourself! Take breaks and take your time!
I really hope this explained it okay... This isn't one of those things I can really give a technical tutorial on so I hope these tips and the above video can help explain it better!!!
