A pretty common criticism fans (including me) have with Ultimate Alien is how the titular Ultimate forms were used. An aspect of that being when and who they were used against, so here’s a thought experiment on how they could have been better utilized.

At the end of the episode where Aggregor adsorbs the Andromeda 5 Ben says, “I’m going to use [the Andromeda 5’s] powers to stop him.”

…And then never uses them against Aggregor, barley even using them for the rest of the Ultimate Aggregor Arc.

So, to rectify that, what if Ben:

Used Ultimate Armodrillo in Map of Infinity (the Mikd'lty Necrofriggian episode) to try to stop Aggregor. Ben could even use him to tunnel out of the temple instead of wrecking through with Cannonbolt at the end.

In Deep, used Ultimate AmpFibian (who already appeared in this episode) to chase down Aggregor.

Used Ultimate Terraspin in Where the Magic Happens, as his species is unharmed by Mana.

Used Ultimate Water Hazard in Perplexahedron to save the sentinel from Aggregor (admittedly he’s here by process of elimination).

And finally in The Forge of Creation, unleashed Ultimate NRG as a last effort to stop him from absorbing the infant Celestialsapien. NRG’s Ultimate would most likely be the most powerful (and volatile) of the Dromeda’ 5, hence why he’d be the final one used.

i think tenzou reluctantly resorting to kakashi for like anecdotal advice about what a normal dad is supposed to be like and kakashi supplying (not normal) anecdotes about (seriously not normal at all) sakumo and his own childhood (literally the opposite of normal) is. very funny. tenzou is aware kakashi is scraping the bottom of the barrel but like, he HAD a single dad, which is, more then most,

I think at some point either kakashi will direct Tenzō towards Gai, or Tenzō will finally cave and ask Gai for advice too.

Like Kakashi lost Sakumo when he was about 4. Kakashi probably cant even remember that much. Gai had Dai until he was about 12. Plus Gai has Lee. Out of all the 3rd war generation Gai has the most experience with having a dad and being a dad.

But much to Tenzō's horror and frustration neither Dai nor Gai are normal dads. And neither is Lee for that matter lol. Loving and supportive? Yes of course but Tenzō already knows that. What's Tenzō supposed to do about the birds and the bees talk, how early is too earl!? Can he give that talk too late!? Also, what's the normal amount of hiding in walls and trees to protect your kid? Kakashi says only a couple hours but that doesn't seem like enough. Lol

I just realized ben 10 universe overall doesn't have much fanfics compared to the other cartoons or fandoms like it was around 160 or etc which is weird cause it's around from like 2005 or smth and it still has the potential to write about it think we need more writers for it really :(

Ben 10 has 7.8k fics on FFN, and 2.5k crossover fics.

On AO3, it's 3.3k fics, 1.1k of which are crossovers.

These are big numbers, don't get me wrong! But ATLA and Danny Phantom — both of which came out around the same time as Ben 10 — have 46k and 23.7k fics respectively, and that's just on FFN. Even a modern show like Miraculous Ladybug has 94k fics between both platforms.

When I started writing Ben 10 fics back in 2019, AO3 only had 800 of them.

Anon, you're absolutely right that Ben 10 has so much potential as a universe. And there should be way more people writing fics for it!

You know how to accomplish that, right?

Encourage writers! Leave comments on their fics! Engage with their ideas by reblogging or leaving them asks! Hell, learn to write yourself. Post your ideas, even if they're just bullet-point notes.

Foster a community. You will never get more fics by treating them like content to be consumed, enjoyed for a time, and then forgotten. You have to actually put in the time and effort to care about the stories and the person behind them.

I finished Cross Your Heart for one person. It's the most popular BenRook fic in the whole fandom, and I buckled down and wrote eight whole chapters of it long after I had lost interest because of one friend. Because she was excited about the fic, because she enjoyed talking about it, because she was so receptive to my ideas, because she made fanart for it, because she took the time to care not only about my art, but about me, and I wasn't about to let her down.

Care about your community, is what I'm saying. If you want more, give the creatives a reason to want to give you more.
