anon im sorry this took a while, i had to research how us money is made! basically it's just made from fancy, specialized paper and ink - so yeah i think the ncr has the machinery to make bank notes and distribute them throughout the republic and wherever they're expanding to!

fic idea: trucks of ncr dollar bills come into the mojave, all ripe and ready to be ambushed by raiders or whoever, thinking that the trucks are transporting useful shit. but no, it's paper money. useless in a society that uses bottle caps as currency. what do they do with that paper? maybe they write on it, maybe they wipe their asses with it, maybe they burn it all up in a campfire! who knows!! maybe they'll do what i do in the game, which is trade it all for chips, then trade the chips back into caps! ka-ching!
