scott pilgrim vs. the world

i had the… ˚✧₊ privilege ⁺˳✧༚ of watching ‘scott pilgrim vs. the world’ a few nights ago and oh my god does that movie expose every fiber of my being.

the whole point of that movie is that scott is dumb and that dating a high schooler at 22 is not… great.

anyway.

the fact that this movie represents the pov of a boy with the whole video game thing is quite interesting.

i also see a bit of myself in knives and, so help me god, scott but in the “can’t have a normal conversation without being weird” kind of sense not the other obvious thing.

my experience watching at first was me saying “what the hell” for like thirty minutes until i noticed the real message. sure, the movie was silly and ridiculous and comical but it really does have an important message about how absurd it is to date someone years older than you. like, 17 and 22.

it has so many hidden messages under comedy which really makes me appreciate for a second how writers and creators of a show/movie/book/play make a story come together.

it’s kinda cool. that’s all i have to say at the moment.

Rises from the dead just to share with you guys this super duper cute 20cm Sakura doll I custom-ordered from @cocopines (twitter || instagram) !!!

Super grateful to her for allowing me to be her first customer. She's been super fantastic at providing suggestions/advice whenever needed even during my design draft stage, and extremely proactive in making sure I'm okay with every change and the embroidery and materials!!

Coco also very kindly made an exception and gave the OK to clothes customisation because I just very badly wanted F/HA!Sakura (and ImaginaryAround!Sakura, but we don't talk about that yet) ;w; God knows how many pictures of Sakura I sent her way even though she wasn't familiar with the fandom at all.

Especially when I suddenly decided that I'd also like to have a butterfly embroidery on her chest!!! bless her soul for agreeing to it when it wasn't stated at the start

the quality of the doll is really good (please look at her little heart paws!!) and even the outfit was done really well. I was initially a bit worried how the sleeve would look, but it is 100% perfect, even the clasp and everything. please i adore this so much 😭😭💕💕

except my analog for the pin is I’m just not in makeup or making slightly more of an effort to dress fem. like idk, shaved face alone I already feel really pretty and own so few masculine looking outfits so idk? anyways, at least on here I feel like we’re afraid to talk to other trans ppl on the street bc we don’t want to out/clock them but we also desperately want to be Seen and interacted with by other trans folk when we’re out. idk... is getting clocked by another trans person rly even that bad? would we not be rly happy to have another trans person pick us out from the crowd and be excited to talk to us? Personally I don’t rly care about “passing” and all the implicit standards around it and just kinda see clocking as a neutral “i can tell”.
