Honestly, I'm getting some flirty vibes in A Very Good Bad Thing between Spiro and Senior- was that intentional? If not, thoughts on what that dynamic would be like?
Yes and no, kind of.
I can easily see how that could be the perception, because my goal IS to write Spiro as a very suave individual- he’s very good at getting what he wants, and if he feels flirting will get him closer to his goal (whatever that may be) he will absolutely do so. Again, he’s incredibly impulsive, and that applies to flirting with just about anyone if he thinks it will help him (or if he’s attracted to them).
Is he flirting within the story? No, not really. At the minute, he’s just trying to weasel his way into a position of friendship alongside Fowl Senior, so he can use him to A. Gain access to the Fowls’ ‘home territory’ and B. Learn more about the People- along with the potential of having a new ally in the world of business.
Now, as for how I could see that going-
Pure. chaos.
This concept is genuinely super funny to me, actually, because they’re both such terrible people-
It’d be one of those cases where it’s sort of a mutual “hey, we’re both into crime and have similar goals, we’re both bored, I think you’re attractive, let’s see where this goes” and then they both wind up catching feelings.
(Also, alternatively- Tim x Spiro x Angeline)
