Emotes? EMOTES !!
How To Add Emotes To Simply Plural
Tumblr media
How I got the emotes on sp
Firstly ill explain how i put got them onto sp ^^ Theres really 3 things you need to think of when putting your own emotes on sp, however, if you dont want to do all this, I will provide the list of emotes ive used! As shown above.
1. Getting the emotes.
2. Sizing them down.
3. Image hosts.
I simply got my emotes off here, tumblr, I no longer remember which blogs i got them from, but theres many you can find and download.
After that i used ibis paint on a small canvas, i shrunk them down to fit, and used the sharpen tool to make them clearer when needed.
Then i took them over to a image host, i reccomend catbox, as itll give you plain links, to allow the links to work, you can format into ![](PUT THE LINK HERE). Itll now show the emote next to any text.
Now this part goes for if your using the list below or making your own.
I highly reccomend downloading a copy and paste keyboard app!! I personally use autopaste keyboard, this is on android !! It allows you to paste the emotes wayyyy faster ! If requested i canand will do a tutorial on how to use and organise the app
The list of emotes

Craziest shit about going from anti endo to pro endo is you slowely accept every part of your system
We split easilly? Thats chill
We split during a nonstressful moment? Thats chill
We have a headmate who doesnt seem logical to exist? Thats chill
Our headspace does something odd? Thats chill
We have a weird beleif about our system? Thats chill
Something weird happens with a headmate? Thats chill
Like we no longer hide headmates who are too weird, like nah we dont have too many fictives, nahh its fine we have a literal ghost, nahh its fine we have a headmate whos from this same system in the future/alternate timeline of this universe, nah its cool we have headmates who only appear sometimes, theyre still important
Dont get me wrong its been 3-4 long years to get to this point, to get to a point where were fully accepting of every part of our system, nevermind accepting were proendo and that endogenic systems are chill
But eventually we did accept it, because every system is diff, every system has their own quirks
Heck every person is like that
Just know if your still working on accepting yourself, youll get there, there will be up and downs, but one day you'll be chill with it eventually
And sidenote if ya working on accepted endos, but are afraid of backlash, i say say fuck it, go for it, cause the proendo community is so chill and kind, and we def wouldnt be here without em

"Plural" is inclusive of ALL SYSTEM origins. If you don't like "endo and endo supporters :((((" using the term "plural", that's a you problem. It doesn't matter if you don't believe in non-traumagenic plurality-- plurality, as a term and a community, accepts non-traumagenic systems.
Stay mad about it, we don't fucking care.

Twitter Dot Com when being used for internet discussions about irl stuff and fandom online as a social media platform nowadays is crazy because someone could say "The point of the label of being a lesbian is that it's about loving women and non-men as a woman or non-man esp in a society that forces cishet white male dominance over different marginalized groups and that saying that those who identify as men/the male gender can identity with the lesbian sexuality label is not only wrong but harmful and erasing queer history which is problematic" or "Dissociative Identity Disorder and Other Specified Dissociative Disorder is literally a medical condition thats origins are caused by trauma and that identifying as an 'Endogenic system' or any other sort of 'non-traumagenic' system is not only factually incorrect but hurts the plural community" while literally being a lesbian or a medically recognized system and people would still disagree with them. Please send help, the kids are infact not okay sadly/Neg.

Inner Worlds: A System Forum
Tumblr media
This is a system forum with more of a focus on inner worlds and emphasis on system member individuality.
It's meant to be a space for systems to communicate and connect with one another while building themselves up in the process, as well as a space to discuss some of the stranger aspects of being a system and being a person in a system.

Shoutout to systems who experience their plurality in positive ways!
Shoutout to systems who enjoy being plural!
Shoutout to systems whose origin(if relevant to their plurality) is positive or related to something positive!
(This post is inclusive of all systems! This post is however not about negative experiences with plurality and/or system origins stemming from negative experiences/things so do not derail. Those experiences are valid too but this post is not about that, make your own post!
Sysmeds/anti endos/anyone who fakeclaims systems or system origins of any kind absolutely do not interact.)

Greetenings fellow plural clans,
I was wondering for those who use Twinote.
How do you manage not to forget the application?
The last entry our side did was from May last year... (till I spammed it today). I fear snowflaking its existence... I believe there is much more potential to this application than that we use it for.
Does anyone have suggestions on how not to forget the application, as well to bring it to it's full potential?
Thank you, with care,
Ro

Origins of Plurality and Levels of Dissociation Study
Thank you so much to everyone who participated. Your contribution is greatly appreciated.
It is likely that we will do a follow-up survey that will study the details of the differences in the internal experiences of traumagenic and endogenic systems.
Tumblr media
Important Notes: We are not professional researchers. This is not a substitute for professional research. We are trying to fill in the lack of professional research with our own as a temporary solution.
This study cannot with certainty prove or disprove the existence of plurality formed from sources other than trauma. This was an attempt to gain insight into the situation through looking at how DES scores compare between different origins.
The DES is not a diagnostic tool, but it can aid in receiving a diagnosis. This survey is only to track any potential differences in scores between different self identified origins of plurality and what that may mean.
Terminology used in this study:
Plurality- The experience of being or having more than one self-aware entity within a single body. Plurality is a spectrum of many different experiences.
Traumagenic- Plurality that is attributed to trauma. This often includes the diagnoses Dissociative Identity Disorder and Other Specified Dissociative Disorder 1. While all DID and OSDD 1 is caused by trauma, trauma may not be the origin of the system itself.
Endogenic- Plurality that exists for reasons not related to trauma.
Quoigenic- The origins are unknown or unspecified.
Parogenic/willogenic- Plurality that was created intentionally through an imaginative process. It is also known as tulpamancy.
Metagenic/Spirigenic- Plurality that is attributed to a spiritual cause.
Neurogenic- Plurality that is caused by a mental condition other than DID/OSDD 1.
Mixed Origins- Plurality that has more than one cause.
Introduction
Plurality is the experience of being or having more than one self-aware entity within a single body. What these entities are varies. This can include, but is not limited to: having dissociated parts, multiple selves, facets, and sharing a body with others. Plurality is a label that one can choose to identify themselves as if they feel like it fits them. People diagnosed with Dissociative Identity Disorder or Otherwise Specified Dissociative Disorder 1 often (but not always) identify as plural or multiple. These disorders are known to be caused by dissociation from trauma, and are currently the only scientifically acknowledged examples of plurality.
Some claim to experience plurality that is not based in trauma and pathological dissociation and is not disordered. There are many reported causes of this within the plural community, but there is little research done on it. We conducted this survey to determine if self identified origins had any correlation to levels of dissociation.
Dissociation is an involuntary mental process that creates a failure to fully integrate information. It creates a sense of disconnection between the self and the dissociated material. Pathological levels of dissociation often occur as a way to cope with overwhelming stress.
According to the DSM-5, “Dissociative disorders are characterized by a disruption of and/or discontinuity in the normal integration of consciousness, memory, identity, emotion, perception, body representation, motor control, and behavior.”(1)
Pathological levels of dissociation are heavily linked to trauma, meaning that plurals who report a non-traumagenic origin and show lower levels of dissociation than seen in DID or OSDD 1 may indicate the possibility of plurality having more than one cause.
Background
The existence of plurality outside of trauma based dissociation is widely debated within the community, largely due to the absence of evidence for such a thing. The most clinically acknowledged origin of plurality is based in the theory of structural dissociation of the personality. This theory states that we all have separate self states or parts of the personality. During childhood, these parts merge into one more unified whole at around 6-9 years of age. Trauma can disrupt this process and prevent these parts from merging. In DID and OSDD 1, these parts become so separate that they often develop their own sense of self. This is an adaptive mechanism to better survive in a scary and unpredictable environment. These dissociated parts contain different experiences and responses in order to prevent the trauma from being too overwhelming.
We would like to clarify that if someone reports their plurality having non-traumagenic origins, it does not mean that they have never experienced trauma or dissociation. It means that they believe their plurality did not originate from their trauma.
Method
We conducted a community survey to gather data on self identified origins and their levels of dissociation. We collected responses from various online plural communities, such as those on Reddit, Tumblr, and forums. The survey was started on Dec. 1st, 2021 and closed around February 7th, 2022 once we received 400 responses. One response turned out to be a duplicate.
We collected DES scores from the DES II, as well as some other information that may provide insight, such as diagnosis. We collected no identifying information from this survey.
Everyone had the option to select more than one origin. The four primary groups we are focusing on are endogenic, traumagenic, quoigenic, and mixed endogenic and traumagenic origins. We will primarily be focusing on the differences between those who selected traumagenic and those who did not.
Endogenic systems can have mixed origins, but for the mixed origins we are primarily focusing on those who have both traumagenic and endogenic origins. Those who have mixed endogenic origins are sorted as endogenic instead of mixed origins to simplify our results. This is not to erase or simplify their experiences as mixed origin, it is to simplify our data to make it easier to work with. We counted many things, such as tulpamancy, under the endogenic label to simplify our results.
We received other responses from people who either didn’t fit one of these labels or felt the need to specify further. We tried our best to work with this data by matching it up to one of the broader categories we listed, because we didn’t know what else to do with some of these responses. We hope this doesn’t offend anyone.
Makeup Of The Respondents
Tumblr media
Most respondents were traumagenic, and most of those traumagenic respondents (59.70%) were not of mixed origin.
We also found that those who selected an endogenic origin were more likely to pick more than one origin. This is partly be because we listed endogenic as an origin, along with several endogenic origins.
Diagnosis and Treatment
We wanted to measure how much of our respondents have DID or OSDD 1, since the term traumagenic is not synonymous with DID and OSDD 1(2). It is a common misunderstanding that they mean the same thing.
Tumblr media
Only 40.5% of respondents reported that they have been diagnosed with DID or OSDD 1, or believe they would qualify for a diagnosis based on the criteria. We expected this number to be higher.
The amount who said yes is less than those who reported being traumagenic. Those who reported being traumagenic only were the most likely to say yes. Some of those who reported being traumagenic only responded with maybe and rarely no, but never with no longer fitting the criteria.
Those who had traumagenic and endogenic origins were more likely to respond with something other than yes, but still said yes more often than the endogenic and quoigenic groups.
Those who were endogenic were the most likely to say no out of all the groups.
Treatment and how well it is progressing can affect DES scores. We also wanted to gauge how many respondents were in treatment or felt they needed treatment for DID or OSDD.
Tumblr media
The amount currently in therapy was surprisingly low. Only 7% report being in treatment for symptoms of DID and OSDD 1 and that it is going well.
8.3% selected other. Their answers included various situations such as starting treatment soon, therapists not being understanding, being in therapy for things other than DID/OSDD 1, being in therapy for trauma and dissociation but not DID, and not trusting therapists.
Unsurprisingly, those who selected an endogenic origin were much more likely to report that they do not need treatment. Almost all of them answered that they did not need treatment. Three respondents said that they are in therapy, but they are undiagnosed. It is unclear if they are seeking a diagnosis of DID or OSDD.
The quoigenic group (excluding mixed origins) was the second mostly likely to say that they did not need treatment.
DES Scoring
We will first go over general statistics, and then we will go over the data based on specific origins.
Tumblr media
The majority of respondents either have not taken the DES before this survey or were unsure if they had.
Tumblr media
This is how the respondents scored on the DES. We didn’t think many would score above 70, but we were incorrect in our judgment.
Tumblr media
Most (64.6%) were surprised by their score. This is likely because most respondents have never taken the test before. 12.3% were very surprised by their score.
Tumblr media
Almost half (45%) expected their score to be lower, but only 7.5% expected their score to be higher.
DES Scores Compared to Origins
The survey was started during the COVID-19 pandemic in late 2021 and was finished in early 2022. The COVID-19 pandemic is an ongoing, long term, collective trauma. There is a strong link between stress, trauma, and dissociation. The scores we received for all of the groups are most likely influenced by the current world events at varying levels. There may be other factors for the scores we received. We cannot determine exactly why these scores are so much higher with certainty.
It is also worth noting that some questions on the DES are plurality specific or could be very relatable to plurals regardless of how dissociative they are.
Traumagenic Origins Only:
Average score: 58.64
Highest score: 99.67
Lowest score: 14.29
Median score: 60
Most commonly scored range: 61-70
Tumblr media
The average DES score for DID patients is a 48, and the average for OSDD is a 36.(3) The average score we calculated for the traumagenic group, which includes both DID and OSDD, exceeds both of these averages.
We gave scores in the 80’s and 90’s their own categories to calculate the most commonly scored range due to how many scored above 70. If we had not done that, the most commonly scored range would have been 70+ for traumagenic systems.
Endogenic Origins Only:
Average: 29.21
Highest score: 70
Lowest score: 4.29
Median score: 25
Most commonly scored range: 21-30
Tumblr media
The endogenic group scored around 30 on average. They scored higher than the average person (5), but lower than the traumagenic group. Only 1% of DID patients score below 30.(4)
Mixed Traumagenic and Endogenic Origins:
Average score: 50.53
Highest score: 98.93
Lowest score: 12.5
Median score: 47.415
Most commonly scored range: 41-50
Tumblr media
Quoigenic/Unknown origins, including mixed origins:
Average: 46.85
Median: 45.333
Lowest Score: 6.79
Highest Score: 96.79
Most commonly scored range: 41-50
Tumblr media
Mixed origins here does not mean traumagenic and endogenic origins, but instead quoigenic and one or more others.
Quoigenic/Unknown origins only:
Average: 45.61
Median: 45.333
Lowest Score: 6.79
Highest Score: 86
Most commonly scored range: 41-50
Tumblr media
The last three groups are lower than the traumagenic group, but higher than the endogenic group. The average scores are still clinically significant and are higher than the recorded average for DID.
Potential flaws of the study:
Scoring. Scoring for the adolescent DES could be incorrect due to the self scoring.
We assumed that scores over 100 were from those who took the adolescent version and forgot to multiply their score by ten, divide it by 30, and move the decimal over one. We did this ourselves on those scores. Another explanation could be typos.
Self reporting. Some may be incorrect about their origins. We do trust that those who participated were honest about their identified origin(s) and their scores.
Sample size. We only collected 399 responses. Most responses were from traumagenic plurals. This left us with fewer data than we would have liked for endogenic plurals or plurals of other origins.
Conclusion
Plurality may be a phenomenon that is not exclusively caused by trauma, unlike what was previously believed about its development. Further research would help to clarify what is happening in the brains of non-traumagenic plurals. Studies on a larger scale done by more experienced researchers could potentially validate what was shown here.
This study alone cannot definitely prove the existence of plurality without trauma, but it does show that those who report having no trauma involved in their origins often experience less dissociation than those who do.

As far as i can tell, a term doesn't exist for this yet, so i'd like to introduce the concept of a "reverse-shell" or "hermit crab" member (we're not great at coining terms so if anyone want to take a stab at it that'd be great. personally i think it suits our hermit crab well)
A hermit crab is a member of system that can't or can only rarely front on their own. This member fronts by projecting through the another member, which can feel like a few things.
The hermit crab may feel that they are pretending to be another member, as if putting on their face. They may or may not actually be cofronting with this other member.
The other member may feel like they are fronting on their own, but they recognize their behavior differs significantly from how they usually act/think, more like how the hermit crab acts.
The two members may be aware of eachother's presence, but the hermit crab's will is taking precedence, and the other member is mostly unable to act individually.
Additionally, when more members are fronting or co-con, it might be that the crab switches who they're hiding behind when different members interact with the world or eachother, or they stay with the member they were originally fronting with, working as a unit even when talking to other co-fronting and co-con members.
When fronting with a hermit crab, other members may feel they take on a role similiar to the shell in a shell system, but they are not normally a shell and only experience it in relation to this specific member.
Personally we are able to recognize this situation mostly because we can perceive our hermit crab separately inside headspace; it is only when fronting with them that the lines between us become blurred.
we think our crab exists this way for a few reasons:
for their whole existence they worked in a duo with our main protector, where the protector would take care of the scary stuff while they dealt with the daily things; they feel vulnerable when fronting on their own.
they also got used to being multiple people while also pretending to be one person, as they were suppressing the rest of us subconsciously from being individuals yet still had the conflicting/differing opinions that now feature in our system; taking on our forms feels familiar and safe/comforting.
Additionally, while it is clear they are their own person, they don't have much in the way of personal goals or passions and feel very anxious about having to find stuff to do while fronting (in part because they suffered through school for us, and they were always overwhelmingly busy and tired. freedom is awkward for them).
i hope that explanation of how it applies to us helps clarify how we perceive this term being used, though we're totally cool with anyone who relates to it using it differently from how we do.

Sleep Paralysis And How Our Plurality Effected It
Our system has occasionally suffered from sleep paralysis off and on since childhood. It’s not an all the time thing but it also isn’t something that cannot go more than a few months without happening. During sleep paralysis, hallucinations (tactile, visual, and/or auditory) are very common and are most often very fear inducing things. (A very common/stereotypical reported experience is feeling/seeing something holding you down.) Growing up, we had normal sleep paralysis hallucinations. Nothing interesting of note. But after we accepted our plurality and began working toward cooperation and functionality together something happened. We still had sleep paralysis and we still had hallucinations during them, but they were no longer at all distressing. What in the past would have been the feeling and sight of something terrifying holding our body down - became a headmate peacefully curled up on top of us all cozy and warm. What in the past would have been the terrifying sight of a figure standing in our room - became the friendly face in the shape of a headmate checking in and tucking the front-sleeper back to sleep.
What in the past would have been the terrifying sound of something making noise somewhere in the house - now sounded like the voice of a headmate softly speaking or maybe singing. Etc. They became... not frightening at all. Not even just that. They became... comforting. Tender. Loving. Someone else in the system cuddled up in the bed. A protector of the system standing guard in the bedroom watching over the rest of us. Someone caressing the side of our face. Someone quietly saying “its just me, everything is all right, go back to sleep.”  Etc. We don’t know how, but that is what has happened. We just know that there is nothing scary about our bouts of sleep paralysis anymore. That in all our years since fully accepting our plurality, we haven’t had a bad experience ever again.  It’s nice. We weren’t expecting mending our problems with our plurality to make other aspects of our mental health better but we’re certainly happy it did. Weird and unexpected thing, but a good thing nonetheless. (Oh, and all our past four therapists since we fully accepted our plurality [changing of insurances and moving is never fun] have had a similar funny reaction. Each of them all had a “yet another thing that normally presents as distressing, but it’s not for you. Well, let’s move on to what is troubling you then” reaction.)  We still have issues with trauma-related nightmares from time to time (though they have decreased significantly over the years), so our nights aren’t always perfectly restful. But we don’t have to worry about sleep paralysis anymore at least.

what's the general template you use for your pk posts?
Tumblr media
Hihi im going to assume these are both from the same person!! I actually make simply plural templates, so my process may be different from others
I do not have a general templates, as i dont like to be limited ! But my general work flow is, what do they need? Will they need to search for the info i add? Do they want it heavily decorated? How much is too much?
So for example
What do they need
They need basic intro information, name, age, gender, sexuality ect
What will they need for alter searches
Theyd need source, species, role, possibly origins
Do they want it heavily decorated
Maybe they do, maybe theyve said a specific theme they want, maybe theyve said their experienced
Or maybe they are new to this typea thing, and need more basic information, easy to fill in, or they dont want a theme
Is it going to be too much info
Do i need to simplify it? Will it look cluttered? Will it take me too long?
After i got that all in my head i get to work with an idea :3 hopefully this helps!

Coining A System Term
since we cant find one that fits
Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Sunset”
Sunset as a term describes the state of two alters, and or the state of a subsystem. In this state two or more alters appear as one alter in headspace, similar to a subsystem, however in this state the boundaries between these two alters may seem fluid. At times they may be two distinct alters in a subsystem, other times they often may seem, speak and or feel like one alter, or often temporarily fuse, blend, or merge into one alter, other times it may be that they only partially feel/seem the same/are fused ect, or one alter is more prominent in the fusion/mix/merge ect of the two alters.
Examples using phrases, Yellow is alter one, red is alter two, orange is the 3rd fused/mixed alter.
“Today I (yellow) am front, Red isn’t front right now”
“Red is front but I feel partially mixed with yellow”
“Orange is front today, we are currently sunsetted”
Subsystems, who identify as a sunset, may use the term “sunset subsystem”.
Sunsets can also have their own “headspace” or layer in headspace that acts like a headspace.
Sunsets can either be formed as sunsets, or two or more system members may “fuse” into a sunset.
Some sunsets may name their mixed state. They may also see their sunsetted state as a separate alter, or they may not.
“Sunsetting/Sunsetted”
Sunsetting is a term to describe when a sunset is mixed/fused/feels as if the same alter/ect. It may also be used by those who fused into a sunset, to describe the action of fusing into a sunset.
Extra;
The term was inspired by the characters Sun and Moon, From the game FNAF;SB, due to their state of being one in the same but not ONE in the same perfectly described the feeling of being a sunset, as well as their eclipsed state being the perfect example of what being sunsetted may be/feel like.
Despite this I also find garnet from SU also describes the feeling quite well.
anyone of any origin can use this term, as we generally do not care for syscourse/support endos <3

Hi, an “endogenic” refresher course, right here!
1. We introduced the term “endogenic” into the community August 2014, along with some other terms! It was in response to exclusionists (wrongly) complaining about “systems without DID” using “their words”. It was an attempt at creating nonmedicalized terms that any plural system could use.
2. It was also a way to do away with terms that had fallen into disfavor— specifically “natural systems”, a term that had been in use possibly as early as 1994. It was disliked because people felt it implied that trauma-caused systems were unnatural. “Endogenic” fixed that.
3. The word “endogenic” was lovingly created to help systems put their experience into words. All it means is “a system not formed by trauma”; it doesn’t imply any other cause, set of beliefs, or experiences. It doesn’t imply the system is nondisordered or doesn’t have trauma. It doesn’t mean any other system’s origins in trauma or dx status is “invalid” or whatever.
4. Though the terms were eventually posted to tumblr, the idea didn’t start there. Tumblr was created in 2007; the concept of systems not caused by trauma has, again, been online since the 90s. Nor was the term created by singlets! We’re a trauma-caused system with DID.
5. “Endogenic” wasn’t created as an insult or to exclude anyone. We have loved ones who are endogenic. Many of the terms in use now were created by endogenics. They have helped preserve plural history, and defended the community. They are good people, and real systems. The hate they get is completely senseless.
Thanks for coming to our talk. Please stop insulting endogenic systems, and educate yourselves instead, thanks. (Unless it’s just pure malice at this point in which case, fuck off I guess.)

Any other plural systems have an archive-style system for memories? Like if I Focus™️ I can save relatively clear memories for others to view. Otherwise it's a total crapshoot as to what will be remembered or not. 🤷
