one of the things I cherish about Dungeon Meshi is how loving and respectful Ryoko Kui is towards her characters with bigger body frames and/or characters who weigh more.
They're presented as beautiful and normal, without ever crossing over into fetishization. It makes me feel so hopeful that representation and acceptance of fat people and fat characters is possible <3

“We’re plus size writers of course we know that the character can’t pick us up but that still doesn’t stop us from writing it”
“We’re black writers of course we don’t write that the reader has silky blonde hair that can be out in a messy bun”
“We’re plus size writers of course we constantly get comments that skinny people get insecure too”
“We’re black writers of course we don’t write about how the reader has blue eyes that shines in the moonlight”
“We’re plus size writers of course we have trouble finding reference pictures for outfits”
“We’re black writers of course we cringe when we see fanfics about billy hargrove x black readers because like did we watch the same show
“We’re black/plus size writers”

sure you're "body positive" but are you normal about fat women with small chests
(do you acknowledge their existence? do you include them in your art when you include fat bodies? do you subconsciously see them as a failure of femininity? do you treat them with respect even when you can't make big boobie mommy thirst jokes about them? are you normal about people you don't want to fuck? are you normal about people who don't fit the beauty standard?)

shoutout to the exvangelical girlies, girl adjacent, and former girls this summer (especially plus size ones):
I know y’all are fighting so many layers of programming when it comes to clothes—
can’t show your thighs (sinful, gross, etc), can’t show boobs or shoulders (sin again), can’t show midriff (especially sinful private area!!!) 😵💫😵💫😵💫
Healing takes so long from those engrained mindsets. I’ve checked all those boxes and fought against that mindset since the start of summer.
If no one’s told you yet, it’s okay to wear clothes now that were considered sinful in your past. 💕
Growing your limits little by little will help you figure out your own comfort level and let yourself actually not overheat during the summer.
I’m sending y’all a giant hug 🫂

Cosplay is for everyone.
I know cosplay is for everyone, but I need to remind myself of that. I am a plus size woman cosplaying a thin and lanky man. I am allowed to do this. I am not making the character look bad, just different than usual.
I am included in the phrase cosplay is for everyone
