I’m on computer this time so it’s time for a proper Inscryption spoiler post about the recent news over Old Data, this time with photos.

SPOILERS FOR NOT JUST INSCRYPTION BUT ALSO THE HEX.

Ok, now that we can talk.

1) Someone on Reddit checked the files for Inscryption to specifically check the photos that show up during the final OLD_DATA sequence.

This is what they found:

Hitler’s Bunker.

I think it’s a generic bunker image this one.

A non combatant certificate for the department of defence from 1954 for a certain Barry Reginald Wilkinson. Reasons for issuing this certificate are unknown.

AI generated image of a person that does not exist.

A pocket.

A field on the side of a road.

Whatever the fuck this is also seems to be a recurring image within the files of the game.

2) On a side note, after getting a better look at the Sado freeze frame, and it’s apparently only on Amanda (The supposed GameFuna’s employee that ends up shooting Luke), specifically replacing her face with hers.

Given how it’s implied that Sado escaped the game world at the end of The Hex, and is now in our reality, Amanda might simply be the body she’s currently using to achieve her goals, since shapeshifting was one of her many powers.

Sado for reference (The other guy is a cooking game character that was forced into a fighting game against his will, when all he wanted to do was bake pies with his Grandma).

Sado is also a Malware Character created by Carla Dosa, Lionel Snill’s former best friend and top employee, who decided to curse him after he ran away with the money and mass sacked his other workers after the Secrets of Legendaria fiasco, by having her infect all of his games. She designed her for the fighting game as the ONE OF TWO only female characters in the game, because Lionel was a sexist asshole about it too, got really angry over the other female character being a generic scantly clad elven woman, which topped with the fact she not only had to drop her last year of university to start working for him, but also the fact that post SoL she ended up ruined by her association with the game AND by the fact her supposed best friend just, again, sacked her with no severance and ran away with all the money that were left, which, again, led her to create Sado the malware.

Sado is also demonic in origin, since Carla used devil magic or some shit in the code when she made her, which would explain the following point:

3) So, in Act 3, you can get something called “Holopelts,” a virtually useless item since the Trader is nowhere in sight, as Po3 points out. If you get all of them you get an achievement.

However, if you reach the final stage, and open the lock in the room to Golly’s left in the game board, the room to your left OUTSIDE OF THE GAMEBOARD will be opened, and the Trader, now permanently fused with the Trapper and using They Pronouns, will be there as an hologram, where you can trade secrets for your pelts.

The secrets are what she could see from the OLD_DATA.

The “Secrets” Cards, styled after the Major Arcana, and are physical cards in the same style as Grimoria’s cards from her Gamemaster game, and are therefore thus:

0) THE FOOL: The card is a large ear. The card refers to someone known as “Big Ear,” who did not outlive his plot, and who helped smuggle OLD_DATA from across the sea, but was ultimately discovered and gunned down. The person in question is Barry Wilkinson, the man from the Department of Defence card, as the Trader refers to him as “Poor Barry.”

III) THE EMPRESS: Featuring a skeleton person at a computer with a triangle in hand (Gamefuna’s logo is a blue triangle), the card represents Kaycee, the Game Dev of Inscryption. There were probably other game devs, but Kaycee is the one who was doing quality testing and control of it, and whose name was also “inscrybed” into one of the characters, one of Grimoria’s three skeleton underlings. The secrets ends with the reveal that she found OLD_DATA in her testing, and discovered many things in it.

XIII) DEATH: A skeleton with behind a radiation symbol. It’s the Karnoffel Code, the thing the Mychologist, who is rejected by all 4 scribes in the base game and is a secret boss fight in the third act, is trying to understand by combining two identical codes together. The Trader has managed to understood some of it, and is horrified by their discovery.

“The Code is in the Cards, and then Oblivion”

Incidentally, Luke Carder is also trying to figure out the code IRL, but the camera feed, again, currently controlled by a GameFuna product, always cuts out or turns the CC to binary when he’s about to mention it, making it look like he’s simply going insane due to the nature of the game, or even OLD_DATA.

That said, the five Tarot Cards the Trader has been showing you each have 8 numbers in binary, which in order from 0 to XVI give you the following code:

0) 00000000 III) 00000011 XIII) 00001101 XV) 00001111 XVI) 00010000

(Which appears to be their number in Binary)

XV) THE DEVIL: OLD_DATA. The Trader claims the data is a curse, so malignant it will never be erased, and who is a corrupting influence on every character in the game. It is the one to blame for the Scrybes animosity toward one another, and it is the one who created the Karnoffel code.

FUN FACT: Karnoffel is the first recorded card game in existence.

XVI) THE TOWER: A resplendent tower with a triangle on top of it. The Trader admits they do not know about the specifics of the creation of the game itself, so the Tower symbolizes the place where it was created, GameFuna’s headquarters. The Trader then concludes that a Blue Man visited them while they were being created.

The Blue Man is another The Hex character, Irving:

Irving isn’t actually a game character, he’s a digital assistant from GameWerks, a program for videogame making sponsored by GameFuna (Much like CameraWerks, the program Luke is using to make videos, is).

He’s seen as an enforcer of the developer of by the other game character, and is usually a slave driver among other things. He appears in one of the corrupted videos in Luke Carder’s Youtube channel, right as he cripples a videogame character almost to death due to its obsolescence.

This means that, during development, the Blue Triangle Powers (GameWerks) were used to beat the world of Inscryption into space, which we could already assume by the presence of another Stock Character from the GameWerks engine, the Mechanic Goblin Biker Girl that Fixes Bridges and other Roadblocks (TM).

4) The Mychologist Secret Boss Battle.

If you created all 4 instances of spore cards during act 2, you will gain a key that will allow you to enter the Mychologist’s hut in Act 3, hidden away in a secret zone, roughly in the same place it would be during act 2.

The Mychologist will take control of Po3, and will begin experimenting with you in a boss battle, while also using actual actors for their images in the bot’s screen.

Notice, if you will, that the bigger head happens to be the same as Barry, the Spy who smuggled OLD_DATA across the seas.

At the end of the boss battle, the Mychologist will be able to combine two cards into one, creating this:

It’s a fragment of the old code, which prompts the Mychologist to erase Po3 memory of what happened, and remove themselves from its programming, going off to study the code somewhere else.

5) Side note, but during the very last video we see of Luke, the camera begins emitting strange sounds the SECOND he starts mentioning Inscryption to a journalist on the phone, which then leads to Amanda’s “visit” right as he mentions her, which gives credit to the theory that GameFuna is controlling the camera, if not outright Sado.

Nothing else I could find for now, however the Discord is actively working on it as we speak.

Burning.

New Alexandria was burning.

From a tactical standpoint, it made sense. The Covenant always hit the population centres, especially ones of strategic importance. And New Alexandria fit the bill perfectly.

Emotionally? That was a different story.

Only a handful of hours ago, she’d witnessed the destruction of a Covenant Supercarrier and Corvette. She’d witnessed her teammate’s sacrifice; Jorge pushing her out of the ship so that she could help Noble Team finish its mission, quoting that his time was done, and it was up to her to make it count. And she’d witnessed a massive Covenant fleet arrive in-system.

In mere hours, they’d gone straight for New Alexandria. Rooting out its inhabitants, destroying its structures, maintaining air superiority so that the UNSC could not push back.

Artemis loathed that she was so damned late to the fight.

She also loathed that she couldn’t raise NOBLE on comms. She didn’t know if they were alive or dead; something told her it was the former, but anxiety told her the latter was still entirely possible. And so she did what she did best.

Played the part of the lone wolf.

Moving throughout the city, armed at first with only an M6G, trying to ignore the ache in her left leg, eventually scrounging up more useful weapons, following whatever directions she was given. Working alongside whomever it was necessary. Sometimes it was ODSTs. Sometimes Army. Even both.

There were rumours swirling about her, now. Some people were surprised, some were awed, the rest were relieved.

She was even halfway certain she’d heard they were calling her the Hero of New Alexandria.

I’m just one soldier. Just one Spartan. I don’t need that honour. I don’t deserve that honour. Give the title to some Marine. But not me.

Never me.

The whispered rumours were more prevalent as she began to close in on the landing pad at Traxus Tower for the final leg of this particular mission. Some of the soldiers were staring at her openly, hope glimmering in their tired eyes. The rest — including one very baby-faced Army Trooper — were checking their guns, ready to aid her in their next assault.

Eyeing the list of names on the bottom corner of her HUD — PVT. G. Thorne, PO3 C. Kotevski, PO3 M. Perez, SSGT. D. Wyman, LCPL. R. Haxgild — she motioned the mixed group of Helljumpers and Troopers over to where she stood, barrel of her stolen Brute Spiker pointing to the floor, head cocked to one side.

“On me, fireteam.”

DNA replication mechanisms

overall semi-conservative, not conservative or dispersive, DNA replication

i.e., one strand of the parent helix serves as a template for the construction of a new strand that is identical to its complement, and thus daughter strand = template parent + newly synthesized complement

meselson-stahl experiment: parent E. coli DNA grown in 14N media is then placed in 15N heavy-isotope media to assess material composition of resulting daughter strands → define semi-conservative v. conservative/dispersive DNA replication

core components of DNA replication process - replication complex

1. DNA polymerase (2 total, for leading and lagging strand synthesis) - cleaves PO3 groups on dNTPS to catalyze high-energy phosphodiester bond formation → add properly paired nucleotides onto the 3′ end of a newly-synthesizing complementary strand

DNAP only acts to synthesize DNA in the presence of the following:

chronological process of DNA replication itself

1. initiation of replicative progression at the origin of replication along a chromosome

Initiator protein and accompanying complexes bind at sequentially-designated origin regions and recruit DNA helicase for unwinding parent double helix

unwinding creates replication bubble space of single-stranded DNA + protein machinery, flanked by two Y-shaped replication forks along which helix will keep unravelling bi-directionally

prokaryotes have 1 origin of replication in a small, circular chromosome; eukaryotes can have replication simultaneously occurring at multiple origins along linear chromosome

2. elongation of synthesized areas in both directions from origin

elongation occurs along both unravelling forks, with each parent strand acting as a template to synthesize a daughter complement to itself

without RNA primers to stimulate DNAP synthesis at the ends of a linear chromosome, each replication round would generate shorter and shorter chromosomes

telomerase adds telomere (i.e., non-encoding DNA portion to which RNA 3′ OH primer can be attached) to prevent this eukaryotic issue from occurring

ensuring precise conservation of encoded genetic information during DNA replication process

jayfeather is under exactly the same stress as alderheart. so either you're implying alder is weak or you're in the "adoption isn't real" camp and i'm neutral on you as a character, i don't want to dislike you.

you know, i thought the scene in mtbnsof where all of thunderclan is like "yeah, let's just exile squirrelflight" [2] was exaggeration, and honestly i spent a long time workshopping it to make sure it felt natural, but apparently i didn't have to do that, because the characters are canonically OK with it!

do y'all want your leader back or bramblestar? (i'm not salty nope not me.) also twigbranch the fuck do you mean "it would be wonderful if bramblestar came back" like what he barely let you stay in thunderclan stfg.

fuck, i can't tell whether or not sparkpelt is denying lionblaze and jayfeather as squilf's kits, but they're really ruining my good faith in adoption. or just proving my point that it's not about adoption.

it's good to see lionblaze does care about her, fuck, can we just get some consistency here. (i mean god rootspring he lost his mom too --- i mean, if anyone should know this, your mom was violetshine, posterchild for bad adoption, who fought w twigbranch over adoptive mother shit)

i want a bernie meme like "i am once again asking for adoption to be treated like a legitmate form of family."

wait why the fuck is bris faster than windclan their whole thing is being fast

also that moonkitti video about harestar having no personality[6] is painfully real i know nothing about this man

oh huh we were just talking about windclan camp[7]. this is actually pretty similar to the first ever description, right down to bris wondering how people sleep there (they don't.) well, uh, credit where credit is due, good job for sticking to your guns on windclan sleeps outside.

hehe (mtbnsof spoilers) i'm glad at some level that like, i identified key things that need to happen to make the story interesting and compelling, and they're happening. tbc really is picking up with the good writing. i have a lot of thoughts about this, but mostly, like, these books have changed since when i started them, but i'm happy with where they got. also, lmao i'm dying because like, yeah fuck i don't even know, i can't believe both the worst and best parts of mtbnsof have made it into this. god. what a world.

i really wish there was a deeper bond between bris, rootspring, and shadow. i appreciate the viewpoints into different clans, but with no meaningful differences in culture, it's just weird because we're used to po3 and avos and stuff where our leads are really close to each other.

TAMA NA Comments on the Kian delos Santos Case and the Philippine Drug War by: Airam Limatog

Choosing an outfit for a date, trying to meet deadlines, and figuring out what to do after school – these are what an average 17-year-old thinks of, the simple and mundane things that one does on the daily. He doesn’t think about pleading for his own safety and survival, begging people whom he trusts to not take his life away. Unfortunately, the latter was the case for one young man, who instead of living a normal teenage life, met his early demise in the midst of a botched police operation.

It was a case that awakened the eyes of many Filipinos, leading them to see the abuse of power some people in authority do. It was news so devastating about a young man at the wrong place and at the wrong time, whose life was taken away with no mercy. It is the story of Kian Delos Santos’ murder.

“Tama na po! Tama na po! May test pa ako bukas!” These were possibly Kian’s last words before being shot to death.

Kian was a Grade 11 student, a young person like me who had big dreams for the future. The difference is that his fate turns out to be a tragic one, ending in a devastating kill. It was the night of August 16, 2017; Kian was loitering outside his house when an anti-illegal drugs operation took place in his neighborhood. He went missing for an hour, prompting his family to look for him in police stations. Meanwhile, gunshots could be heard around the area. Chief Inspector Amor Cerillo, together with another officer, reported an alleged shootout that happened near Kian’s home. When they arrived at the site of the shootout, the boy lay ridden to death from gunshots while holding a pistol of his own and two sachets of drugs in his other hand.

Two very different accounts arose from the situation. The official police report claimed that Kian was acting suspiciously on the scene. He allegedly drew a gun and fired at the police, which forced PO3 Arnel Oares to fatally shoot him out of “self-defense”. During interrogation, Caloocan Police Chief Senior Superintendent Chito Bersaluna admitted that Kian was not part of their drug list, but they believed him to be a mule for local drug dealer Neneng Escopino.

On the other hand, key witnesses showed a completely different view. In their account, Kian was abducted by two unidentified men, tortured, and then shot. One witness even claimed that he saw the men giving Kian a gun, asking him to fire it and flee after. CCTV footage also showed a young man being carried away by officers in plainclothes, matching the witnesses’ stories and the site of the murder. The police insisted that it was not the teen they were dragging, but a police asset instead.

There were numerous discrepancies found in the official report. Delos Santos’ uncle stated that it would have been impossible for Kian to be hiding a gun as he was only wearing boxers at that time. Kian’s father also noted that his son was right-handed, yet the gun was found in his left hand. Forensic results also show that Kian was shot by someone in very close proximity, which contradicts the reports that say that the officer was shooting from a farther distance.

This is where our sense of judgment gets tested. Do we choose to believe the authorities or the people who claimed to have witnessed the incident? One might think that the officers have an advantage seeing as they hold higher power, thus holding bigger influence. The court’s verdict, however, erases the idea of bias within the case. Police officers AO3 Oares, PO1 Jeremiah Pereda, and Jerwin Cruz were found guilty and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole over the murder of Kian delos Santos.

Although the case itself already had a great impact, it was the outcry of the masses that stole the attention. Before the verdict was delivered, I remember seeing the hashtag #JusticeforKian trending for days while others rallied in the streets to fight for his innocence. Public figures expressed their disgust over the incident, condemning the act and the justice system of the country. It gave light to what really was the root cause of Kian’s death: the Philippine Drug War.

President Duterte’s War on Drugs has noble intentions – to cleanse our country from illegal drugs and drug abusers. The downside, however, is how it is being implemented. Like any other war, casualties of both guilty and innocent are expected. It’s a sad fact how we have chosen to resolve our problems in such manners, which ironically, gave birth to more issues in the country. Extrajudicial killings, like Kian’s case, have become more rampant. So much blood is being shed, and the owners of this blood were not even given any chance to undergo due process.

All of these “one-time, big-time” operations, TokHangs, and other attempts of eradicating illegal drugs in the country are mere ‘band-aid’ solutions. The killings prove that there is something definitely wrong with the way our government is handling the drug situation in the Philippines. Instead of investing in brutish temporary solutions, we must focus on why illegal drugs circulate in the country in the first place: poverty, unemployment, and psychological issues. What good would adding more prisoners in already full jails do when rehabilitation is the least of our penal system’s priorities? What benefit would the drug war bring if it compromises the lives of those uninvolved?

Now, even if Kian delos Santos’ case has been closed, there are still people fighting for justice, not only for Kian, but for the countless victims of the drug war. Vice President Leni Robredo hits the spot as she said, "Ilan na ba iyong Kian na dumaan? Ilan pa ba iyong Kian na mangyayari? Kaya tayo naman, kapag ganito, tingin ko obligasyon natin ipahayag iyong ating pagkamuhi sa ganitong klaseng pangyayari.“

Kian was a simple citizen like the rest of us. He was a teen just like me, and this is what makes it so terrifying. Anyone could be the next victim if this system continues to persist. If we choose to be blind and stay silent about the outcomes of this war, then who knows, maybe the Philippines would become just a splotch of red on the globe.

#PHnews: Suspected ASG member, cohort killed in Zamboanga Sibugay

MANILA – A suspected Abu Sayyaf Group (ASG) member and his cohort were killed in a police operation in Zamboanga Sibugay, the Philippine National Police-Special Action Force (PNP-SAF) said on Sunday.

Based on the report submitted to PNP chief Gen. Debold Sinas, acting SAF Director Brig. Gen. Bernabe Balba identified the fatalities as Jomar Aukasa and a certain Buchoy, whose true identity remains unknown.

The two died in an armed confrontation with police commandos from the 5th Special Action Battalion led by Maj. Rodel Silaran, backed by operatives from the Zamboanga Sibugay Police and Regional Mobile Force Battalion in Barangay Sisay, Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Balba said Aukasa turned violent as the arresting officers tried to serve the warrant of arrest which eventually resulted in an armed encounter.

Aukasa is the subject of four warrants of arrest for murder, and another arrest order for robbery, he added.

Aukasa, Balba said, is also listed as the fifth most wanted person in the Zamboanga Peninsula region with links to the ASG as facilitator and financier of kidnap for ransom activities.

Balba said the neutralization of Aukasa culminated in eight months of extensive manhunt operation that began on March 17, 2020 under Case Operational Plan or COPLAN “Assassin”.

Police operatives seized a Belgian-made FN (Fabrique National) rifle, a Glock 17 pistol, and assorted ammunition.

Balba said the recovered Glock 17 pistol turned out to be a PNP property issued to PO1 Mohammad Nur Alamia of Tungawan Municipal Police Station that was grabbed by Aukasa when he escaped from police custody in 2018, and was the same gun used in shooting PO3 Rommel dela Cruz as the suspect fled. Fortunately, dela Cruz survived the attack.

Tungawan Municipal Police Station is conducting further investigation into the incident. (PNA)

Personal Narrative

My personal experience in my immersion. The first day of my immersion was full of excitement. December 4, 2017. The alarm clock of my phone was ringing (cring cring) I wake up and start to pack up my lunch. I eat my breakfast, I take a bath and etcetera. After that, I go to PNP located at the San Jose, Rodriguez Hiway (to be exact). I entered, and met my co-immersion and wait for a while and Sir. San Jose oriented for us on that time we are all 22 students after we are oriented with Sir San Jose they assigned us to our position. I’m assigned to the PCR, that time I enjoyed the atmosphere of my position but on the second day it changed. December 5, 2017 8 am in the morning my PO3 Ma’am Silva is my adviser. And they have assistant named Sir Psalm taught me how to use a barrel. They assembled his barrel and then after that I followed him to how assemble it properly and then I enjoyed it.

December 6, 2017 is the third day of my immersion. It was so boring. I started to sleep on the chair and it ended on that situation but after that before I went to my home I learned that I need to be a patient not all of the day is like the other days which are happy. Sometimes, you’ll feel fine . On the 4th day of immersion, I thought this seem like my last day of immersion but I’m wrong I chose to do what I didn’t do when three days passed. I need to move first before I was commanded by my adviser so in early morning I chose to get the dustpan and broom to clean our area and also other area for the cleanliness of our room because in the one room had a wide cubicle so all of that I chose to clean before our advisory come to the restricted area after that I opened the air-con because one of my advisory said to me that before she entered she felt the air conditioner and then I got the format and mop the floor to clean the corner while I wait for my for my advisor.

The fifth day when we are in the school because of our Christmas party and also for the compilation that we have to pass cause this is the time our works so after that we have to cooperate at the party because some of my classmates said that this is the last time we will spend our time. Our happiness, unity, the last party in grade school so we must continue this party. So we are now meeting about that, they assigned that this group must bring this food tomorrow so our group is assigned to bring some sweet foods for the dessert. After assigned to some meeting they went to immersion but some of us chose to go to each other’s homes some chose to stay so many in school for compilation while I chose to go to my immersion but while we are on the stairs we didn’t know if we are to go in our restricted room in a few minutes we decide to go in our room. We started to do some tasks that we need to do. That day we spent five hours because we came on 12 in the afternoon so my adviser called me to go home with her so me I chose to go in the rooftop to eat dinner.

January 3, 2018. Some of us are grade 12 – Language so my teacher said to me that in that year we would have a change of schedules. Broadcasting is on Monday, Literature is on Tuesday while Language is on Wednesday.
