Please take a look at this from TikTok, it’s extremely important as our US government is doing all they can to attack more children in this country. We must do everything we can to protect all American children regardless of different backgrounds.

Safety Announcement Part 2:

Hello mutuals, followers, and strangers! Recently, Mississippi and Florida have started to want to resurface Jim Crow, with Mississippi wanting to pass that awful law and Florida's governor, Ron Desantis, not wanting anybody to learn about critical race theory and banning our books of our history. Because I believe other states, especially southern ones, are going to try to reenact this law, I am giving you a safety announcement.

All African Americans and other POC ethnic groups should be very careful when going out. Have any sort of defense, alarm, or spray on you in the case of dangerous racist individuals targeting you. Do not go out at night, regardless of whether you need to go to the store, gas station, etc. Make sure the area you live in isn't racist, and if so, put defense systems in your home. If your area is too dangerous, I suggest you look at the resources I provided below, which are the best I could find, to see which state is better to move to.

Ppl that have a family that speaks smth other than English; do y’all use an accent when speaking English words to your parents???? Idk, whenever I’m in the middle of a Korean convo w/ em and forget a word/don’t feel like using the Korean word, I use an accent on the word.

For example, I say “Oh yea, it costs $5”, instead of saying five dollars, I say five dollar with a thick Korean accent.

Idk if it’s just me or not 🥲🥲

I woke at 4am today (28/4/23). I have been sleeping bad since like ever, and usually I wake up bc ptsd at 7am, not 4am. But now from a couple of days I do, as fucking sucks. I have double the dose of my meds that help me with sleepand other problems, and doesn't work. To make matters worse yesterday I had a trigger situation that will happen again this weekend I can't really deal well with this shit.

i hope eventually everyone realizes that becoming educated on things is a gradual process

should everyone know about lgbtqia+ issues and culture out of respect? yes. should people know about poc issues and culture out of respect? yes. should people know about issues in the disabled community and culture out of respect? yes. everyone in theory should know about all issues and lifestyles as away to be respectful and avoid being disrespectful.

but the key phrase is "in theory"

we don't come into the world knowing about issues, about all different topics, what is and isn't the right thing to say, etc. we need to learn this. i didn't know as much as i currently do about queer subjects and autism until i started actively search for information.

and that's another key thing. i "actively" searched for it

this information isn't just going to present itself to people out of the blue exactly when they should know it. most of the time people need to go digging for information about topics because often they can be quite niche pieces of information if you're not in the community.

so before you say to someone who has said something incorrect; "what's wrong with you?" "you should know this, everyone does" "you're an asshole" "you xyz-phobic", take the time to offer to educate them and provide resources for them to educate themselves.

because if you're immediately hostile to someone who doesn't know better they're going to associate whatever you're talking about with hostility and not want to educate themselves. i mean, would you if you were in that position.

that being said, if someone refuses to educate themselves or does know better and is being a bigot or actively ignorant, then yeah, all bets off the table. but personally i think giving people the benefit of the doubt first and expressing kindness even in the face of accidental ignorance will help us get to a better society faster.

very very weird when people act like only trans & nb people have complicated relationships with gender and are the True Understanders of the violence of our deeply gendered world. beyond the fact of how troubled cis girls and women grow as they experience gender in a misogynistic world, are we supposed to act like every poc doesnt become aware at some point of just how eurocentric gender expectations are, and how dysphoric that makes you? how alienated from your own body and sex? this is just me talking from the experience of being forcibly held down and waxed at 8yrs old for being a hairy latina and constantly getting called manly at school for having a mustache and body hair. sighh i really just need white trans people to stop pretending they intrinsically have an understanding of gender so far above everyone else's

My Punk Tips for a DIY Lifestyle:

Thrift some black fabric (or grab an old black shirt you don't care for anymore), get a white fabric marker, posca, sharpie, or paint and make a bunch of patches to sew onto your clothes.

If you're a digital artist this is your time to shine! Make stencils, posters, design clothes (there are free templates online), and if you don't own a printer libraries will let you print for cheap and sometimes free. My library card allows me to print 10 pages for free.

Reuse everything or if you don't want it anymore donate it or recycle it.

Trash is very punk. Soda can tabs for instance can make for cool jewlery. It's all about creativity.

Drug store makeup is your best friend and honestly they're sometimes better than the luxury name brand products. Or hell even make some of your own.

If you need to order something I suggest etsy. Yes, some of it's expensive but you're supporting small artists and buissnesses rather than a corportation. It's also easier to find poc, queer, and neurodivergent buissnesses and artists.

Overall punk is about being creative. Just get creative and have fun!

Hiya folks. Todays the ffxiv hair contest winers were announced and of of the styles I made won.

The one who will be implimented in game will be Natural curls.

These were made with my friends in mind (because I love them and they deserve more actual natural curls) while taking into consideration the lack of curly hair, the textures I know they would be able to make and how it would look like on non poc wols

The winning hair

This was the first and more simple one I made. I started out with the base shape then painted it over with a natural curl hair brush.

I wanted to make a texture I felt i’ve seen the devs make in Highlander/Midlander hair but no where else.

I simplified it for the quickly drawn examples … I have a feeling the end product might be closer to those instead of the more curly version. Here is to hoping no.

The ones I made but did not win, so wont get in game

The curly swoop

This one was actually requested by one of my friends.

She wanted me to try a hair still she wanted to have in real life. Due to the reasons stated on top, i had to loosen up the curls of the swoop to make it work with what i knew was a texture they could pull off and also work with non poc characters.

Old school ponytail

This one was inspired by nostalgia from when I was in grade school.

I remembered those hail tie balls so well and associated them with fond memories.

Sadly I didn’t think i could do my original idea of the thick cute braids i associated these with in a way that the game would make it not look racist/work with non poc characters so I focused on just the curls. It ended up reminding me of Terra from FF6 but more curly.

In the end. I’m glad Natural curls won. I really hope they get the texture right and curly.

I still feel awkward cause i’m white woman who submitted these. But I did them with love and support for my friends and to yell at SE to add more poc hair (wich i saw a shorter dreads hair and also a really elegant brais with poofy curls won so i guess my plan worked?)

I just hope this will make them make more hair with poc in mind so the players can eat well.
