The Beginnings of Larion (Part 2)

The only thing that managed to stop their chaos were the giants from the sky, the only ones that lived up in the clouds. These giants were known for their compassionate ways and strength, along with harnessing high intelligence. They used the ancient tongue of scrolls in their communities and wrote it with ease, learning to decipher it for the rest of the land with their magic. Unfortunately, they were on the side of the Barbarian Giants at one point, thinking that their conquest would aid in an era of flourishment for the beings below but learned that their actions would only bring in sadness and death to those affected. So they left their barbaric allies and decided to stay in the clouds for safety, soon learning that the rest of their kind caused more bloodshed as they slayed more majestic animals. One of the sky giants decided to take action against their former allies, and his name was Aevargar. Aevargar was already well known as a leader of the sky giants, having formed them as a clan after they left for the clouds and led them away from a life of devouring humans and elves. With his skills of leadership on full display, he encouraged the other sky giants to head back to the land below to stop the barbarians yet many did resist. Those who didn’t followed him on the flight below, having sprouted wings from overexposure to magical clouds. A fight breaks out the moment they land in the Golden Barrows mystical forest, being claimed to have infiltrated new Barbarian territory. The sky giants defended the land for weeks, plaining and enacting rescue missions to get the magical creatures back from their enemies. Once a month had passed, many of the animals and people who lived in the forest were returned, giving Aevargar and the sky giants praise. Word about their success spreaded throughout the rest of the land, many sending thanks to the sky realm. Aevargar decided to harness the praise and asked for the sky giants to become Larion’s protectors, allowing them to have say over all in the realm. Fortunately his efforts worked, the magical beings of Golden Barrows annointed Averagar as the first king of the Cloud Realm and his kind as the official protectors of the people of Larion. Many rejoiced as soon Aevargar wouldn’t be the only royal, getting married to a fellow giant by the name of Mabrika.

Hello to anyone who reads this!

My name is August (he/they) and I'm preparing to complete a graduation project (I'll be a senior in highschool, i must complete this project in order to be able to graduate from my school). My project is about various tropes in Queer fiction, specifically, tropes like "bury your gays".

Later this year or month (it has this range because I'm currently in summer school in order to get ahead, working, and trying to take time for myself) i will need to have interviews with people.

The people I'm planning to interview is really, anyone who is interested! Anyone who is queer and/or disabled, of any race, and if any age, is eligible to be interviewed. (This includes self diagnosis, or uncommon/stigmatized diagnosis such as schizophrenia, BPD, DID, psychosis, bipolar, IBS, endometriosis, etc)

I do not currently have any questions prepared, as I'm not currently ready to start the interviews, but they will be questions relating to how you feel your group/minority is portrayed in media (or there lack of), your opinions on certain tropes (may or may not be related to your minority/group), and if there's any specific types of scenes you would like to see.

This information will be used for me to make my product of this project: a book of short stories featuring Hally endings for people who don't get them. This means: the queer character doesn't die, the disabled person isn't a joke, the person with schizophrenia/psychosis/DID isn't the Big Bad Guy, or any other endings that aren't what the neurotypical/heterosexual/cisgender/able-bodied white men and women characters usually get.

The goal is for the short stories to be published in one book through either a publisher or self-publish.

Anyone who is interviewed, i will be unable to provide financial compensation (i am like..17 and i can't pay a bunch of people), but I will list everyone in the book (sorry if that sounds like a crappy deal, i really can't do much better than that)

Interviews can take place over messages via Instagram, Tumblr, or twitter, as well as email, Google meet, or (possibly) zoom, whichever works best for you!

As a poc myself I have something to say!!

You cannot just erase a characters whole racial identity just cuz you wanna jump into the Liberal wagon of woke.

Seriously we do not need another white character be poc. Just create stories with original thoughts with poc. Going again and again with same ideas, recreating a character who was loved already.

Several poc would agree with me on this.

It's asian and Pacific islander heritage month.

Everytime a poc tries to speak against something regarding poc in media WE GET CANCELLED FOR SPEAKING ABOUT OURSELVES!!!!

Everytime we get white people replaced by poc it feeds into a stereotype!!

Rather then making movies about poc and their stories and their struggles, we just fit into a white designed frame!!!

Hiya folks. Todays the ffxiv hair contest winers were announced and of of the styles I made won.

The one who will be implimented in game will be Natural curls.

These were made with my friends in mind (because I love them and they deserve more actual natural curls) while taking into consideration the lack of curly hair, the textures I know they would be able to make and how it would look like on non poc wols

The winning hair

This was the first and more simple one I made. I started out with the base shape then painted it over with a natural curl hair brush.

I wanted to make a texture I felt i’ve seen the devs make in Highlander/Midlander hair but no where else.

I simplified it for the quickly drawn examples … I have a feeling the end product might be closer to those instead of the more curly version. Here is to hoping no.

The curly swoop

This one was actually requested by one of my friends.

She wanted me to try a hair still she wanted to have in real life. Due to the reasons stated on top, i had to loosen up the curls of the swoop to make it work with what i knew was a texture they could pull off and also work with non poc characters.

Old school ponytail

This one was inspired by nostalgia from when I was in grade school.

I remembered those hail tie balls so well and associated them with fond memories.

Sadly I didn’t think i could do my original idea of the thick cute braids i associated these with in a way that the game would make it not look racist/work with non poc characters so I focused on just the curls. It ended up reminding me of Terra from FF6 but more curly.

In the end. I’m glad Natural curls won. I really hope they get the texture right and curly.

I still feel awkward cause i’m white woman who submitted these. But I did them with love and support for my friends and to yell at SE to add more poc hair (wich i saw a shorter dreads hair and also a really elegant brais with poofy curls won so i guess my plan worked?)

I just hope this will make them make more hair with poc in mind so the players can eat well.

I love how inclusivity is handled in The Dragon Prince, here's why.

In most shows, as much as it bothers me to admit so, some people are right, inclusivity does feel forced sometimes. But it's not the characters' fault, it's not because of them being part of the lgbtq+ community, or being disabled, or being POC, or being strong women who do not conform to patriarchal standards.

It's not that.

It's that the show they are part of is a straight, white, abled parade - and notice, most of said shows won't even pass the Bechdel test.

So yes, in a show written by and aimed to straight, white, abled people, even I, a gay, non-binary, chronically ill person feel weird seeing charcters that are there just for the sake of inclusivity, albeit 'inorganic'.

In a show with the premise of "straight, white, abled men are the indiscussed MCs", seeing that one side-character that stands out and is often ridiculed and/or reduced to a single trait of their 'personality', such as 'the gay one', 'the asian one', 'the disabled one' (etc) is upsetting and feels uncomfortable as hell.

But TDP is different.

They immediately introduced powerful women, people of color, characters that are openly part of the lgbtq+ community, disabled characters etc. And not one of them per 'category', no. For the lgbtq+ community we have Amaya, Janai, Runaan, Ethari, Terry, Kazi. For the disabled community, we have Amaya again, Villads, and even a disabled wolf Ava. For the POC community, we have literally half of the cast, starting from King Harrow, then Ezran, every sunfire elf, Terry as well, etc. Same goes for women, who take up on roles that are rarely considered 'for women', like Opeli being the main member of the High Council, Amaya being the General, Rayla being the main Dragon Guard, Claudia being one of the main antagonists, etc.

Both main and side-characters are part of the communities, everything is so much more organic, enjoyable, thrilling.

We do not come in 'minor quantity'.

We are everywhere, among others, living our lives, doing our best, existing, thriving, proud. It's not just one or two of us among thousands. Surprise, 'categories' can mix! Just like I, a real human being, can be gay, enby as well as chronically ill, we can have characters like that as well! Amaya being lesbian and disabled, Terry being black and trans, Janai being black and lesbian, etc. And, another surprise, 'categories' don't define us. We don't 'shove it' in anyone's face like they say we do, we're just being us and cishets are upset because we don't conform to their sick standards.

Inclusivity is organic in TDP because nobody in that universe questions anyone else's color, gender, orientation, etc. And it's organic because we didn't have to wait half a season to see a black character, or a disabled character, or a gay character.

The key to inclusivity is to realise that we aren't just 'bonuses'. Fill shows and comics with lgbtq+, POC, disabled, and female characters. Not just one every 15, 20 characters. Everywhere.

We are everywhere! We are proud! We deserve to be seen! We deserve to be depicted as the normal people we are, without diminishing our traits but without making them our whole personality either. Treat us like human beings, be considerate like you should be with everyone on the planet of course, but treat us like humans.

Antagonising people who are 'different' (in the mind of straight, white, abled people) will not suppress us. We will keep insisting until you hear us. It's literally one of the main messages, one of the main teachings of TDP and it's so damn important.

Every single person on Earth should watch it. Every single kid should be introduced to TDP at an early age. Every old bigot should watch it, as well. Everybody. Even if it's considered a y7 (y10 for s4 and s5 apparently) show, everyone, no matter their age, should give it a try and watch it thoroughly.

Lots of love to the creators and everyone, literelly everyone involved in the production of one the best, most entertaining, most exciting, most formative shows ever. Please, keep it up! And thank you so much!

7:44 a.m

Miles: why ain’t you answering me?

9:57 a.m

Miles: at least leave me on seen or sum shit so I know you seen it.

11:32 a.m

He closed his phone and groaned as he feels his grumpiness getting to him. “Yo Miles, you good?”

His friend asked him seeing Miles is more grumpy than he usually is. “I’m fine.” He replied as his friend knew he was lying but decided to not push it and just thought that he was just having an awful morning. The only times when he did have awful mornings is when Y/n wasn’t around, and this was one of those awful mornings.

The bell rang and Miles got up to leave and as he walked out the classroom whispers were surrounding him. The soft voices going in and out of his ears, they filled the hallways. He managed to make it to his class and sat in his usual seat by the window in the back.

All of a sudden, students yelling and running could be heard outside the class, curiosity got the best of Miles as he got up from his seat to see what the ruckus is about. He used his taller figure as an opportunity to see over the crowd.

He was shocked to see his girlfriend, Y/n on top of another female, punching her as the girl below her was screaming and crying. One of Y/n’s hands was gripping the girls hair to keep her head down and her other hand was in a fist as she laid blow after blow to her face. Her nose was bleeding and bruises started to form on her face.

The female under Y/n was kicking and squirming, trying to get out from under her but couldn’t from Y/n’s body weight being forcefully pushed on her to keep her down.

Students surrounding them were recording and yelling as others just watched in horror.

“You wanna talk shit about my man!? You’re shady and pathetic, say it out loud to me instead of going behind his back.”

Y/n’s voice spat coldly in her face as the girl looked terrified while tears were running down her cheeks.

He was shocked seeing the scene, he never expected Y/n to be the jealous type let alone fight someone who talked bad about him. Miles didn’t and couldn’t care less about people who talked bad about him. Cause he knows that he can easily beat them with no issue.

So seeing Y/n get jealous and protective because another female talked bad about him behind his back, almost made him feel proud, thinking about how he knew that Y/n is really the one for him.

After a while, the principal came and broke up the fight then took the girl and Y/n to his office. Teachers who were there, escorted and told the students to get back to their classes. Everyone went to their classes and as Miles was in his seat, he was wondering what the girl said that made Y/n so mad.

While he was thinking, he smirked to himself, knowing that his girl, his only, did that to another female for him. Pride filled his chest knowing that any other girl wouldn’t have done it. He was proud to call Y/n his and his only.

The school day ended, and Y/n was walking out of school but then was stopped by Miles.

“Ay Mami, what happened back there earlier?” His hand placed on her shoulder as he turned her body around to face him.

“Some girl talked shit about you, and I couldn’t let that slide.” She huffed out pissed off and crossed her arms. He only smirked down at her before letting out a small chuckle.

“Who would have known that Mami would be jealous and protective of me.” His voice teased her with a smirk on his face. She looked at him before rolling her eyes.

“I wasn’t jealous…I was only doing what I had to do.” She glanced at him which only made him laugh as he wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her body closer to his before he started to walk.

“Plus, why would I be jealous of a white girl? One thing that I do question is why would that little white girl talk shit knowing that we don’t play around when it comes to confrontation?”

Her voice spoke as she scoffed with a small laugh.

“You know…I would kill any guy who even dares to breath in your direction..~”

He bent down to her ear to whisper in her ear. His voice was low and deep as it sent shivers down her spine, causing her skin to grow goosebumps.

“You don’t mean that though, right?” Looking at him with a raised brow as he just smirked and stayed silent.

“Don’t play with me right now…you don’t mean it right?!” Her voice slightly raised, giving him an almost flabbergasted expression.

“I don’t know Mamas..do you think I’m playing?”

The tone of his voice was low and deeper than before. It was almost concerning, she knew how possessive he could get. But the way his voice got deeper, it sounded dark.

She stayed silent, his hand reaching over to her chin as he lifted her head to look at him. He had his usual cold expression but this time it was even..colder?..

His eyes were completely lifeless. No sign of shine or life in them which made her a little nervous when he stared down at her.

“I asked you a question Mamas, and I expect an answer..”

The sound of his tone was like he was a robot. It didn’t sound human, no hit of emotion behind it. She thickly swallowed before answering.

“No, I don’t think you’re playing..”

She said and he smiled, giving her a soft kiss on her forehead.

“See? It isn’t that hard now was it?”

His arm wrapped around her waist again as she walked with her close to his side. He didn’t let her answer his question before speaking.

“Now let’s go out. I gotta reward my girl for doing something, right?”
