cw: a little goofy. reader graduated from jujutsu tech years ago. gojo has an unnamed partner who also taught at jujutsu tech.

“Sensei.”

The silence between you for the past minute is unnatural but not uncomfortable, just that you and your former second year instructor are chatterboxes by nature and any moment with your lips pursed together or lost in thought at the same time is suspicious. She doesn’t hear you at first, far too preoccupied with the hem of her skirt - she looks almost too good, and you’re slightly envious of the older woman’s elegance. You’d decided on your own outfit in a hurry, a comfortable pair of jeans, dressy sandals - a summery look, cute but slightly more casual than your mentor turned friend.

“Mm?” she finally responds, looking up at you, legs crossed, hands posed over her knees. You’re standing, your own arms crossed over your chest, slightly anxious as you look around at the other passersby at the busy subway station.

“What do you think they’re up to?” you ask. It’s more than a simple coincidence that both of you ended up at the station at the same time on this random Thursday morning, no cursed spirits to exorcize and suspiciously coinciding with the fact that you let Yuuji know you had a couple days off of your part-time job this week.

“Something ridiculous probably,” she says with a smile. She waves you to sit down beside her but you twist your mouth to the side slightly anxious.

It’s one thing to have Yuuji make surprise plans for you, but Satoru’s implied involvement makes you nervous. Satoru is like the opposite of what your sensei is for you - while she evens you out, the former only exacerbates your boyfriend’s more unruly but well-intended actions.

You sigh and let yourself sit next to her.

“It’s White Day,” she finally says. Her eyebrows seem to perk up with this realization as if it’s just come to her now, and as you come to the realization yourself, you grimace.

“Oh no…”

As if on cue, your phone starts to ring in your lap. Her phone doesn’t ring, but she receives a barrage of text messages all at once, the personalized cat meow ringtone she’s been begging Satoru to stop replacing her phone with - including the last time you had dinner on her house - repeatedly going off in her lap.

“Itadori.”

“Hi, baby~~~”

His voice is coy on the phone and it makes you scrunch your eyebrows together, just imagining how easily Satoru rubs off of him at times. Next to you, your friend types rapidly, then stands up just as fast.

“Dios.” She herself sounds exhausted.

“What’s going on Yuuji, where are you?” you ask, a tinge of panic raising the pitch of your voice.

“Right in front of you!” he replies, cheerily. You look up, and yes, you should have expected the worst.

“Oh no,” your mouth goes agape.

Yuuji and Gojo are wearing literal animal suits in the middle of a crowded station at 9am, just an hour after the morning rush. Off-brand giant versions of Pochacco and Cinnamoroll are now skipping in your direction, their faces clearly visible because they didn’t even have the sense to hide them, and holding hands as they skip, a bouquet of flowers for both of you in their free hands.

“Absolutely not.”

Your sensei stands planted in genuine shock, while you gather your things to leave; unfortunately, the moment you turn your back on him, Yuuji pulls away to move just a bit faster, scooping you up rapidly in his arms and spinning you around.

“Happy White Day!” he responds to your sharp yelp. As you spin, you can see your sensei subjected to a similar fate.

Unlike you, she’s head over heels enough to be embarrassed but not fight as Cinnamoroll!Gojo engulfs her, peppering her in kisses in its gaping, Satoru filled mouth.

“This is the worst thing you have ever-”

“I love you!”

His face is so endearing, you can’t help but melt immediately, like the chocolates he’ll eventually present to you before you head off to the amusement park for a day, stashed in a small backpack inside the ridiculous suit.

You suck in a deep lungful of air, but by the time you exhale, your cheeks are warm.

“I… love you too.”

Bonus:

By midday, the four of you are enjoying ice cream and funnel cake, your two former senseis with shoulders pressed together and as disgustingly cute as a couple can possibly be. The suits (thankfully) have been long ditched (although you’re not exactly sure where), and Yuuji is stealing bites off your paper plate as the chatter flows freely. The amusement park is busy but not hopelessly crowded, and you’ve been able to get on as many rides as possible, even though they are themed for love and popular for that simple reason.

“Wait, how come you guys didn’t rope Megumi into this?” The idea of Megumi in a mascot suit is driving you practically insane just thinking about it, and as you take another bite of ice cream, you practically snort it through your nose in a delayed reaction, which has Yuuji thump your back sympathetically.

“He thinks he’s too good for us,” Yuuji grumbles.

“He is,” you and Gojo’s wife say in unison, then you both catch each other’s looks and burst into laughter with the men you love, and who love you just as hard.

y/n’s gaze hadn’t left roman’s the second from the second that cody and ted both left the room. “i- wow.” she breathed out, standing up and walking over to roman. she didn’t hide the way she was looking over roman’s outfit, but her gaze had quickly snapped back up to roman in the same moment she felt his hand reach for hers. “you look amazing, roman.” she whispered, watching the way roman brought her hand up to his lips to kiss the back of it and feeling her heart get caught in her throat.

“what i look like pales in comparison to you. you look absolutely stunning, y/n.” roman replied, watching the way y/n’s light blush on her cheeks had deepened. god, she was absolutely glowing, and roman couldn’t help but get lost in her beauty. “sorry about arriving early, i was just too excited for today.” he apologized, bringing their hands back down and lacing his fingers with her.

“it’s ok.” she assured him, unable to stop the smile that crept up to her features as she beamed up at roman. his touch sent literal shockwaves through y/n, and when his attention was on her, it was as if the world had halted to a stop. “i, uh, also got ready really early. i’m pretty nervous about today.” she admitted.

“you have nothing to be nervous about, ok? look, we’re going to go out on this date, get to know each other, and see where this all takes us.” roman assured her, squeezing her hand in his gently and watching as she nodded her head. “now come on, i got a surprise waiting for you in the car.” he told her, letting go of her hand so she could grab her stuff.

“surprise? roman what could you have done to surprise me? and in the car?” y/n questioned, although humor was laced in her tone. she grabbed her phone and keys, remembering that she kept her spare room key in ted and cody’s room so she wouldn’t have to worry about leaving the door open for cody whenever her sheets were done washing. she put her stuff in a white purse and putting her arm through the purse’s handle so it could hang from her shoulder.

y/n took roman’s outstretched hand in hers as the two made their way out of the room, hearing the door shut behind them as they made their way to the exit. “you’ll see. nothing bad, and nothing sexual. get your mind out of the gutter.” roman laughed, as y/n brought up her other arm to wrap around roman’s bicep, and pressing herself closer to roman’s side.

“i wasn’t thinking anything like that!” she defended, looking up at roman and feigning offense.

roman could only shake his head in response and laugh, “sure you weren’t.” he pushed open the door for them to leave the building and make their way out to the parking lot. he guided her to his car, stopping just right before they got to the passenger side door. “alright, close your eyes. i was told to record your reaction.” he ordered her, letting go of her hand and watching as she pulled away from him with a confused look.

“what?” y/n questioned.

“trust me, close your eyes.” he repeated, taking his phone and car keys out of his pocket. roman waited for y/n to close her eyes before he unlocked his car. he walked around her to open up the door, making sure that the gifts were still set up and properly presented before hitting the record button. “ok, come here.” he said, reaching for y/n’s hand and gently pulling her forward. he positioned her so she was facing the gifts before letting go of her hand and adjusting himself so he could get a shot of her reaction. “alright, open them.”

y/n opened her eyes, averting her gaze downwards into the passenger seat and gasping, shock evident on her face. “roman what the fuck? how did you know?” she yelled out, leaning down and taking the pochacco themed sanrio plush bouquet out of the seat. she held it up to her face, smiling at each of the small pochacco plushies that stared at her and feeling tears well in her eyes. “oh roman.” she whispered, turning to look at him and seeing the satisfied and proud smile on his face. “thank you so much.”

“don’t cry on me now, woman.” he teased, reaching a hand out and cupping her face with his hand. he wiped away at a stray tear that had fallen down her cheek with his thumb. “happy?”

“this is the greatest gift ever, how did you know i even wanted one of these?” she asked, stepping forward towards him and standing up on her tip toes. the camera wouldn’t see it, but y/n had mustered up the courage to press a gentle kiss to roman’s cheek before taking a step back and a wild blush to appear on her cheeks.

“say hi to candice and indi! they’re gonna love this video.” he laughed, wrapping his arm around y/n’s shoulders and pulling her back towards him. roman pulled her into his side, pulling the phone away from them and turning so that the camera was on them.

“you assholes.” y/n laughed as she looked up at the camera. “thanks for helping roman, now i’m going to go back to embarrassing myself in front of him.” she giggled.

roman turned his head and leaned down, pressing a kiss to y/n’s forehead before ending the video and bringing his arm down.

“seriously though, what did you do?” y/n asked, turning to look up at him.

“went to your instagram, saw a bunch of posts with your friend group, messaged the two girls that kept appearing, and from there it was smooth sailing.” roman answered and gestured for y/n to get in the car. “alright, let’s go eat some crepes! i don’t know about you, doll, but i’m absolutely starving.”

y/n nodded her head, turning and getting into the car with the bouquet sitting in her lap. roman shut the door for her and y/n buckled up her seatbelt. roman jogged quickly to the other side of the car, getting into the drivers seat. he buckled up his seatbelt and started the car, looking over at y/n to find her already staring at him.

“what are you looking at, doll?” he asked, reflecting y/n’s smile.

“sorry it just feels so unreal. there’s no way we’re about to go out on a date and you got me this amazing of a gift for our first date.” she admitted. “i just… feel so lucky right now.”

roman leaned over, cupping her face in his hand and rested his forehead against hers. “i want to save our redo of our first kiss for later, but if you keep talking like that, then i might just kiss you before our date even starts.” he warned her.

“if you kiss me now, i definitely won’t be disappointed. i think it’d be the best first kiss ever.” she whispered.

roman closed the distance, and kissed her softly. once again, time stopped for y/n as her eyes fluttered shut and she kissed back. roman pulled away from the kiss after a few seconds, a wide smile plastered on both of their faces. “i didn’t want to get carried away.” he whispered before leaning back in his seat. roman put the car in reverse and backed out of the parking spot.

“god, i feel like my whole world just stopped.” y/n laughed as she leaned back in her seat.

“same here, doll. same here.” roman admitted, driving out of the parking lot. he drove the entire way to the restaurant with his hand laced with y/n’s as the two talked about themselves, their goals, and their accomplishments.

as roman drove, y/n took a photo of the bouquet, making a mass group chat with ted, cody, and her high school friends so that she didn’t have to send multiple texts to them.

y/n turned off her phone after reading the following replies. “i just showed it off to all my friends. but i think i made a mistake adding them all into one group chat.” she laughed, squeezing roman’s hand slightly.

“what’d they say?” he asked.

“good things, candice and indi are cheering you on. the boys all liked the bouquet too. but then a testosterone battle started out of nowhere.” she answered, feeling roman rub circles into the back of her hand with his thumb.

“ah, remind me to send the girls the video later.” he told her, letting go of her hand once they reached the parking lot. roman quickly pulled up into a parking spot, parking the car and taking his keys out of the ignition. he unbuckled his seatbelt before leaning over the center console and cupping y/n’s cheek with his hand. he stole another kiss, one that was so quick that y/n didn’t have time to react before roman was pulling away and getting out of the car.

she unbuckled her seatbelt, hid the sanrio bouquet by her feet, opened the door and began to step outside. suddenly, she was pushed back inside gently and the door was shut on her. she looked out the window to see roman, who was smiling widely and shaking his finger at her. then, roman opened the door and held his hand out for her to take. she looked at him confused before taking his hand and stepping out of the car.

“when you’re with me, you’ll learn that you won’t have to open doors.” roman told her, answering her confused look. he was satisfied with the way she blushed and nodded her head, shutting the door once she stepped out of the car and locking it. roman laced his fingers with y/n’s before leading the way into the restaurant. the two were seated fairly quickly, with roman having made a reservation for the two of them ahead of time.

the meal went better than y/n could have imagined. whenever she stumbled over her words or was caught staring, roman would reach over, grab her hand, rub his thumb against the back of it, and smile. they continued to talk about themselves, complimenting each other, and cracking a few jokes.

“so, what made you want to get me the bouquet? i feel sort of bad for not getting you anything in return.” y/n asked.

roman shrugged. “two reasons really. one, i wanted to impress you and two, it’s just something i enjoy doing. i’ve been told that my love language is gift giving - i just really enjoy getting someone a gift and seeing their reaction, you know?” he answered.

y/n nodded her head. “yeah i get that. thank you, by the way. you went out of your way to get me something i really like and-“ she paused, a blush rising to her cheeks. “and i’ve never really had someone that would go through all that.”

roman grinned, shaking his head. “look, i’m going to be honest.” he began, setting down his utensils and reaching out for y/n’s hand. “i don’t know what i want right now. as in like, if i want a long term relationship or not but,” he hated the way y/n had deflated for a split second, before composing herself, “what i do know is that i want to get to know you better, and be there for you. kissing you makes me feel like my world’s stopped and it’s just me and you existing. it’s addicting. and i’ve never had that happen before, and truthfully, i don’t know what to make of it.” he spoke, watching as y/n seemed deep in thought. “but i’d like to explore this… whatever this is, with you.”

y/n nodded her head once roman finished talking and had taken a moment to pause and stare into his eyes. in truth, she was relieved to know that roman seemed to be just as clueless about what these emotions were or the feelings that had seemed to form between them. “i’d like that.” she said, with a smile. “to explore this. us. i’ve never really had something like this before so it’s all new to me too. i’m just relieved to know that i’m not the only one who’s confused by all this.”

they smiled at each other, a deeper understanding forming between them, and a newfound “relationship” hanging in the air.

Miniso report:

It was kind of a bust lol it was tiny. My sister has been to Miniso in one of our other states, and she said it's bigger and has more variety and more stuff. It was mostly beauty, non-brand plush, We Bare Bears and Disney—not one Sanrio was seen! But at least I didn't spend any money so that's good 🤗

yeah the only one in my state is in a shopping mall and ngl it’s quite small. I went shortly after they opened (in sep) so it ~might~ have different things by now. that’s crazy that no Sanrio stuff was there 😭 I remember back in the day there used to be a Sanrio store at the mall….i miss her so bad (even though id blow a phat rack there) there’s some new store by me that just opened up. I don’t know what it’s called but in the store front I saw a BUNCH of hello kitty stuff but my sister told me I didn’t need to buy more things LMAO.

im not a disney girl 🥴 idk i was never like ~that~ into it even when i was younger. as far as princesses i was more into barbie than anything.

I think all I bought at miniso when I went was like a hello kitty travel manicure set for like a purse, a pochacco light, cinnamoroll nail files, and a hello kitty makeup bag.

I think japan has like a 4 story miniso (or maybe it’s uniqlo now that I think of it….) idk but I think experiencing that would be better than any drug. and like a daiso in japan. I yearn for it so bad and I’ve never even been lol

Cutie Reviews: DokiDoki May 19

Initially I wanted to post this after waking up this morning, but I got to sleep really late due to taking a late nap, and then I got woke up to go visit my mom (who is in the hospital recovering from colon surgery). I picked up dinner and ate, so here I am now. My mom is doing a lot better today so she’ll be coming home soon.

This months theme: Puppy Party

“Woof woof! Wan wan! This month we want to welcome you to our “Puppy Party” crate. To celebrate we have featured dogs iconic in Japan, whether that be one of their national icons or some of their famous puppy characters. This puppy party is sure to be a tail waggin’ good time!“

Despite the Pompompurin prize, he’s not featured anywhere else in this box. Missed opportunity? I guess it depends on whether or not you like him.

Suteki Crate

As of late these have been more cohesive with the contents of the box, so this could be considered a spoiler as to whats in this months box character wise.

I love the Cinnamoroll calendar x3 and the Pochacco plush holding a Pochacco plush~!

Mocchi-zuu Shiba Plush

A cuddly companion perfect for a puppy party :3 this doggy plush is actually from a series we’ve encountered numerous times in a variety of forms, I probably have 5-6 collected by now. You might notice the familiar tag attached to it in the pic if you’ve been around here before.

He also came with an accessory :D

A set of paper socks!

I’m not really sure why they put these on the plush (I assume its to keep the paws from being pulled off?), but it’s kinda cute in a way.

I don’t know it was just mine or if all of them come this way, but my doggy is serious under-stuffed. He’s still stretchy like a marshmallow but not as cuddly as my others. Otherwise he seems to be decent and I didn’t notice any problems, and if you play around with the stuffing a little it seems to improve it.

Call me a complainer, but I kind of wish they would have had a few doggy options, because he looks exactly like the orange kitty I keep getting in various sets of these. I would have liked something a different color.

Pochacco Purse

Next up is this cute little Pochacco purse, featuring Pochacco and his little bird friend, and banana ice cream apparently. Not sure I agree on his preference but to each his own :P It includes 3 pockets, 2 on the inside and 1 on the back that has a clear cover and zipper. It is held shut by a velcro strip and includes a black buckled strap.

It’s on the smaller side and the material isn’t “loose” so there isn’t much give and the shape restricts what you could put inside of it, but you can definitely fit the essentials. The only real thing bothering me was my bent and stiff strap; which to be fair is probably because it’s been stuck in the box for as long as it was <3< but when I compare it to the one on another purse I have, it just doesn’t feel right. I also don’t like the length of the strap.

Dog Sticky Notes & Shiba Stickers

And now for 2 cute pooch stationery items, first is a sheet of Shiba Stickers, including a mixture of cuddly, cheeky Shiba Inu. Right away I could say the style doesn’t really appeal to me, with its neutral-soft color scheme, but it has a fun ridged texture and they're decently sized. They would be perfect for decoration or just to add a touch of fun to a note or letter. It would be fun to even draw a picture and find a way to include them.

Also, due to its size you can see the lovely detailing, so while you don’t get an over-abundance you get a nice handful and they don’t have a cheap feel.

Speaking of notes, we also got a small set of dog sticky notes. There is a total of 20, each featuring an adorable pup on a pink cloud-like background. It’s hard to see but the notes also have a few rows of lines, giving you the option to write on them or over them. They pull off smoothly and stick well (there’s the rare occasion when I run into some that don’t), and I like the pastel color scheme.

Cinnamoroll Cube Pouch

(I know its nearly impossible to see the facial details, I kept trying to find a way to make it more noticeable... and now as I type this, I realize I should have tried getting something white! >3<)

Our final item of the puppy party is an adorable cube pouch; if you have been around the blog you might recall that these were included with a Yume Twins a few months ago, I got a Waddledee from Kirby. It includes a ball chain and strap on each side, so you could switch it around if you like, along with a zipper across the top of a powder blue strip to accent Cinnamoroll’s features.

As cute as these are... this one got pretty bent from being in the box, despite being full of plastic sheeting. Also, this is a personal opinion, but the clear material makes it a little difficult to see the details and it bugs me a bit. But besides that it’s a handy little pouch for things like money, small lip products, contacts, erasers, sanitary items, etc.

Content - 3.5 out of 5, just because of the little things I had an opinion on. I did generally like the items, but there was nothing about this months box that made it feel unique to me. All of the contents are items I got before in some shape or form, not specifically the same ones, but they aren’t items I necessarily needed; and there wasn’t even any variety, so I feel like there wasn’t really any excitement value to this one. But I will say its practical, so I probably would use the items if I didn’t already have as many as I do.

Theme: 5 out of 5. I’m a cat person, but I thought the idea of a dog-themed box was interesting. It could have been done at any point in the year though, and it doesn’t feel like a summer box to me, but that’s not necessarily a big deal. In terms of items in the box and in the Suteki Crate, I think they nailed it.

Total Rank: 8 out of 10 Cuties. Although I can’t say the items were my favorite as a whole, they’re not of poor quality and I could see them appealing to other people. As much as I love cats, we don’t get as many doggy items so it was a fun change to have this type of box; I just wish there was a little more variety and uniqueness to the items to make it seem even more special.
