Arthur: guy in a fistfight, very clearly winning, but he’s sobbing and wailing the whole time
John: guy visibly getting his ass wrecked in a fist fight but he’s talking shit about the other guy like he’s winning

Current little comic I’m working on recently:
Martin: J-Jon?
Jon: *looking extremely disgruntled while the eye is clearly “hungry”* whæt Mårtįñ?
Martin: Here, read a statement.
Jon: Whÿ?
Martin: You’re not you when you’re hungry.
Boom, punchline I’m hilarious.

Cosplaying podcast characters is both the most liberating and frustrating experience. Most characters have little in the way of physical description so go off, do whatever you want! At the same time, everyone pictures the characters differently, so how will anyone know who you are?
Time to make nametags.

during interviews for coffee shop, i've begun asking creators what they think of shared creator/fan spaces. it's inherently a bit tricky for me; you could argue that i'm "benefitting" from that cohabitation, while at the same time walking the line between strictly being a fan and, arguably, also being a "creator" with the work of the bookclub. still, with that said, in an indie space such as the audio drama community on tumblr, it's only natural for all of the limes to be blurred.
especially with the number of small creators that start as fans, like me, there's a reliance on this shared space to build an audience. shows are far less likely to survive without listeners; creators love their work and want to share it with others. there's nothing inherently parasocial about that, but i think the issue in podcasting fandom is the continuation of this behavior as shows gain popularity.
fans, particularly younger ones, see the creators interacting in a shared space and sort of believe this to be an invitation of the "all of my headcanons need to be validated" sort, missing the idea that oftentimes, fandom content belongs exclusively in a fandom space. things don't always need to be confirmed, and, let's be honest, creators don't want to see your 50k word smutfic about their characters (and occasionally there's a bit of a legal fight there, but that's a conversation for another time)
what i'm getting at is it's not the shared space that's the problem. it's the lack of boundaries and guidance around interaction that is. audio drama fandom is a new sort of beast, the accessibility of creators is an all-time high, and nobody knows how to deal with that. i don't think continuing in the current "model" we have, with respect to larger creators/fandoms, is healthy or sustainable in the long run; it's just going to brew further animosity + bitterness from creators to their fandoms and vice versa.

I love how different the two most prominent Vastards relationship with their entity is.
The Vast is Simon Fairchild’s CALLING, he LOVES it. Simon is the Vasts special little boy, he has been around for hundreds of years dedicating himself to this entity. His entire him is hingant on the vast and he seems to spend most his time going around and harvesting fear for it, Simon Fairchild and the Vast are inextricably linked eternally. He owes the Vast his everything and intends to give it to it.
Mike Crew??
Yeah the Vast helped him out so he stuck with it. Truthfully hed have probably gone with any of the entities but the Vast helped him first so here he is.
Yeah he’ll chuck someone into the vast, why not.
