I used to feel personal responsibility
For other peoples negativity
As though I had somehow caused it
And therefore I needed to soothe it
It’s been such a release to realize
My only job is to give love, calmly
Whether someone accepts or rejects
Whether they are angry, negative or loving
There is NOTHING I can do to control that outcome
And perhaps that’s the best gift
I could ever give myself
The understanding that
This burden of responsibility
For managing other peoples emotions
Is no longer mine to bear.

I want to be the white pollen and be blown away , To land on the flower that is YOU!!
I want to be in a small boat floating away , To dwell in the lake that is YOU!!

it's weird how when a child screams they don't feel loved at home and don't feel safe around their family, the first thing that a parent might do is list the number of things they have done for their child instead of asking themselves what made their child feel that way. parents aren't supposed to be strict and feared. when a child walks into this world, they are naive and parents are supposed to be the home and safe space the child looks for when they need help or when things get messed up instead of going "my parents will kill me for this". by engraving your fear into your child's mind, you are just making sure that they to lie to you. i don't know what kind of cruelty we are forcing onto generations by making them fear their own parents. how would they learn love when they never knew what it is? and in a world so cruel and unkind, love is the most important thing we need. not fear.
Parents scare the hell out of their children and then have the audacity to ask "why you put your friends on such a pedestal". well maybe because they taught me love and maybe you should learn how to parent. you can begin from going to therapy and getting your traumas and misconceptions resolved.

We need representation
We need representation so kid's eyes aren’t covered by parents who sense danger in two men holding hands
We need representation so women can kiss and not feel ashamed or sexualized
We need representation so bi and pan and omni and anyone with a heart so big it can’t love just one gender isn’t told to choose
We need representation so the people with multiple partners aren’t condemned for cheating
We need representation so kids don’t run up to people asking if they're a boy or a girl when in reality they are neither
We need representation so trans kids don’t grow up feeling dysphoric without the words to express themselves
We need representation so aro and ace kids don’t grow up thinking something in them is broken

the little things we do in love are so underrated. simply catching a bus just to see someone, playing with hair more often, bringing flowers, giving handwritten letters, smelling their aura, kissing forehead when they don’t love themselves. no luxury can ever compensate the beauty these things hold.

I think you lost all interest in this world. You were disappointed and discouraged, and lost interest in everything. So you abandoned your physical body. You went to a world apart and you're living a different kind of life there. In a world inside you.

Since the owl house is back, I figured I’d share this hunter themed illustrated poem I made like 100 years ago and then forgot about.
The original idea stemmed from this post, but it’s basically about a recently freed-from-belos Hunter discovering the kindness of Earth rain 🌧
