I wish the world and especially schools had more acceptance for all kinds of people and more respect for everyone's individuality. I wish adults modeled that for us kids to learn the same. I do have some good memories too (will probably write about them in another post). I'm very grateful to know some people I met in school. They have been genuinely kind and loving to me. 🌼 I'll miss the building, I'll miss the routine. School had become a habit, and habits are hard to do away with. But a major part of my memories of school are the ones that I didn't deserve. But they’ll always remain with me. The Last One

Back to the beginning: You are a mystery to me. Your mind moves in ways I cannot comprehend, Cannot reciprocate. But you know pain and joy, And so do I, So I am here, at your side, As you lie there, chilled to the bone, Broken by the arctic winds, the bitter mornings, Hope lost in islands of fog and snow On the ghost of a promise of unimaginable things. And when the fire dies, and the light dies, This feeling inside will remain: I will remember you forever.

Inspired by @poeticreveries_ on Instagram's January prompts, and the first episode of my favourite anime, To Your Eternity. The first episode has the same title as the poem.

Pieces... I don’t need anyone to save me. There are too many sunsets I am yet to see, need to see, must see. But someone cheering me on would help. Someone holding my hand in love instead of judgement would be nice. Because isn’t that what we all want? To be loved for who we are and what we are and all that we are, always? The waves and sea remind me that even when its rough, I am here to be me and make a difference to those who need to see they’re not alone as I share the relentless things that have happened to me, that they took from me. The peace and quiet broken by voices; some familiar, some I can’t place, calling out the mundane as they go about their day, treating those they encounter with contempt instead of care, with judgment instead of love. And I pray that they will be quiet so that I can focus, listen, only hear the one voice I need to hear in peace. But this place I find myself in is peaceless cos there are so many pieces, and I will not rest until I am whole again. . . Thank you for reading my words. I hope they help and heal you as much as they do, me. . The Thing Is

to love life, to love it even

when you have no stomach for it

and everything you’ve held dear

crumbles like burnt paper in your hands,

your throat filled with the silt of it.

When grief sits with you, its tropical heat

thickening the air, heavy as water

more fit for gills than lungs;

when grief weights you down like your own flesh

only more of it, an obesity of grief,

you think, How can a body withstand this?

Then you hold life like a face

between your palms, a plain face,

no charming smile, no violet eyes,

and you say, yes, I will take you

I will love you, again.

Silver Skies, Azure Downpour

i am shades of blue and grey—a gentle mix of cloud and rain—and i cascade down clear glass windows like flooding rivers after a storm. Can i be the droplets of clear blue on your skin? Can i be your teardrops lingering on the edge of your lips-the tip of your tongue? i’ll let your flower petal-like lungs fill up with a gentler stream, let your vine-encased ribcage loosen its hold on you.

The rain calls my name, and i call yours—softly, beneath the cold breeze before the droplets disappear. The weight of you is too heavy on my lips—i let it fall like drizzle before dawn, whisper it like a prayer i cannot speak out loud. Do you hear the pitter-patter of my pulse-like downpour? It beats strangely, only to the tune of water hitting solid ground, and i fall just as effortlessly into your hold.

i am shades of blue and grey—the river falling and the rain’s deathbed-and i bathe the memory of you in everything crystal and cold. i hold you delicately between waves, i keep you in shallow puddles—i see you clearly in my own reflection, i embrace you after the storms. Would you lie here with me beneath the silver clouds and the pouring rain? Would you like to stay in my memory, and linger beside me too?

Haunted and Bewitched

“Haunted and Bewitched” What have you done to me? What spell have you cast That I can still taste you In my mind and on my tongue? I still feel your words Glide over my skin, Like you were laying Next to me, Bringing me pleasure and Pain till I cry for more. You haunt my every Waking thought And dominate my midnight Reveries. Ye gods, I think I’ve fallen In love, again. With a memory. I begged the night rain to Ease my mind and cleanse Me of this heartache. But, as I sit here alone, Driving down this Long road to nowhere I question myself About what we once were. Because, when I’m With you, Nothing hurts like it used to. When I touch you, My body turns into the Sea, And we both drown in that Bliss. When I close my eyes, You’re all I think of, You’re all I fantasize about. You’re all I want. I’m your prisoner And I don’t want to be Set free. So trail your golden Fingertips down My back And poison me with Your love. Whisper to me In that voice that Narrates my every desire.
