howdy just found about this blog from your white steven one less than a month ago as well your reaction posts to cr3 which i absolutely adore. just found put you even had an au thing for cr2 too which i can't wait to read more on. you also mentioned being a dm in one of the reactions which bumped up my respect for you twofold.

out of curiosity are you mainly a dm or have you played your fair share? and if you don't mind, how many have you DMed/played?

I'm mainly a DM these days. In the past, I've played a few odd games, but long-term I've been DMing a Curse of Strahd adventure for about 2 years now.

(I share moments from that game on tumblr sometimes.)

And more recently, I've also started to DM a Pokemon 5e adventure for my friends, which is the spiritual opposite of CoS and is very fun so far. We're only 3 sessions in.

DnD has honestly been huge morale boost for me and I love DMing, so I usually don't mind not having many chances to play. But hopefully there will be more in the future, if all goes according to plan!

Mr Rime's buttons blink when attacking or being attacked, his "eyes" never do, and one of the cards imply it breathes from the chest. That outfit is the actual face, it has a false head. That's why I'm posting this one out of order, it's the next spooky pokemon in line. Nothing with a false head trying to lure children to it is good. Mime Jr and Mr Mime are fine though, honestly Legends Arceus warmed me up to them. Apparently fear of clowns is near unheard of in Japan. Guess they don't have an uprising clowns every couple years, like the East Coast USA has for the past half century. Seriously, every few years for the past 60 we've had waves of people in clown costumes with machetes start appear. Rarely ends in any death, they're generally just trying to terrify people. Anyway, these clowns are here to make a fool out of wizards, so time for encounter ideas!

-Mime Jr are rascally but typically harmless, just following children around to play and harmless pranks. Lately things have been going missing from those it interacts with. (the townsfolk think it's mime jr, but it's actually a thief/monster taking advantage of the distraction) -Mr Mime are the jesters of the archfey courts. When the townspeople stopped leaving out offerings for her pixies, the jester was sent to make fools out of the town. Make this a mystery, the players have to figure it's a fey and how to contact/appease them. Or just fight the Mr Mime, but it will definitely retreat and keep coming back to harrass the town, good luck with that. And with retribution should they kill the court's jester. - Galarian Mr Mime have taken up residence in the local lake, kicking anyone more focused on ice fishing than their performance. The locals need help driving them off, either by appeasing them or attack. (bonus points- the Mr Mime becaomes a Mr Rime when they reach low health, refilling health like a Mythic Trait or a video game boss) - Mr Rime has been entertaining the village with its antics. People chalk up the frozen body appearing to yetis or winter wolves, relying on the entertainer for joy in this trying time. The Mr Rime is behind these disappearances, occasionally following the last member of its audience home to launch a cone of cold.

Trainer card for my Pokemon 5E character and her pokemon she currently has, I'll update it the further I progress ^^

Backstory below the cut:

Gideon, Fay’s father, was hired to research and investigate new types of pokemon and went missing when she was around the age of 10. Fay’s mother, Saria, is currently a nurse at their local pokemon center. Her sister, Alyanna or Aly for short, works as a pokemon researcher, following in her father’s steps. Aly is older than Faylen by 9 years. When Fay was around the age of 5 she was given her best friend, Riley the Riolu, as a present from her parents. Growing up, Fay was a shy but rambunctious child who would spend more time with Riley than the other kids. She tended to bond with a lot of other pokemon she would meet especially when she would accompany her mother or sister to their respective jobs.

When Gideon disappeared it hit Faylen hard because they were very close, she ended up shutting herself into her room for long periods of time. Eventually, she decided that she would pursue her father in his endeavors as a pokemon researcher. She would then spend more time with her sister to the point the staff and Aly’s colleagues knew Fay very well.

Leading up to the present Fay would train and study immensely to earn her Trainer License. A part of her wanted to travel the land to become a pokemon master to follow in the footsteps of her favorite Dragon trainer, but the determined side of her decided on researching pokemon to help find her dad.

Fun fact- lickitung couldn't learn lick in gen 1. It was exclusive to the Ghastly and Jynx lines. And...look, it's the end of the year. I'm gonna be real, my creativity's a bit burnt out from the holiday rush. maybe I'll come back and add encounter ideas later, but I'm just kinda out of it. Seriously, every entry for both of these just says it has a big tongue with paralyzing saliva. I've got little to go off here. and all my searches just say they're based on a yokai that licks the walls of old bathrooms? Which exists for some reason? So we're doing this without the descriptions like I used to. I'm gonna take a small hiatus to recover now, but I'll be back to posting when I can! I'll be back, and in the meantime will still be on youtube and posting the stuff I make for there. I know, it's not the same, but I need to take a break from one of the two to get any amount of freetime. The youtube algorithm will sweep away all my progress in 2-3 weeks, tumblr won't. I'll come back. I always do.
