Pokemon Iono and Klara

When I first saw the new Gym leader, Iono, in the lastest trailers for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the first thing that came to mind was how similar she was to Klara from the Isle of Armor DLC for Pokemon Sword.

First glance, their designs are pretty similar to me, just different type themes, like Klara is Poison while Iono is Electric.

They both have pink hair with pokemon-themed hair accessories, Klara has a white Dustox bow and Iono has Magnemite hair things.

Those boots they have look rather similar, just, again, different themes.

They both present themselves as cute and bubbly, but there is something about them that indicates that that's not entirely who they are. Klara looks like a bubblegum pop girl, but is vindictive and calculating, and Iono looks cute and energetic, but those sharp teeth indicate that she is a fierce gym leader.

And they both seem to be focused on their popularity and image as well as their skills as gym leaders. Klara was an underground pop singer who decided to become a gym leader to become more popular and mostly wanted people to dote on her before getting serious about her training. And Iono is a streamer and influencer, so popularity must be an important thing for her, if her stream is any indication.

They give me the impression that if ever met, they would act like BFFs in public, but would be heated rivals, both in terms of popularity and skills as gym leaders.

On the Isle of Armor in swsh, you can find pokemon fanatics. They can show you the pokedex entries of pokemon you don’t have registered yet. These pokemon can actually be shiny! They don’t appear shiny in your pokedex past this nor can you keep them, but you can at least see it when it’s being shown to you.

So, after a very long hiatus on Pokemon Sword but Tumblr decides my fate, I am back. However, before I jump back into that playthrough (RIP Aron...) I have a quandary about what a consensus of Pokemon lovers would consider kosher for a Youngster run.

A Youngster run entails that the player can only use the Pokemon that can be found in the routes/area available before the first Gym battle.

That said, in Sword and Shield, with the DLC, one could access the Wilds of Galar, Isle of Amor, and Crowned Tundra. While the Wilds and Isle level scale... a bit, the Crowned Tundra remains post game wilds. Except for the Raid Dens and Dynamax Pokemon being obedient if you can catch them.

My question (and subject of the poll) is should these areas be allowed? Theoetically they would make the game extremely easy as the sheer number of Pokemon can fill at least five or six boxes. Especially if one were to sit there for days on end while the weather changes and spawns new Pokemon.

Instead of trying to make the Poll Buttons into the explanation, I'll list the options with numbers and make a short argument for each case/outcome.

No to everything. There are plenty of Pokemon available in the routes leading up to the first Gym and having all those Pokemon from the Wilds, Raid Dens, and DLC is just too much. It's supposed to be a bit of a challenge and limit your choices for team members after all.

Yes, but only for the Wild Area in the base game, no DLC or Raid Dens. Those Pokemon might change every day with the weather, but at least it's still within the level range you should be in for the first Gym with a little training.

Yes, but only the base game Raid Dens, no roaming wild Pokemon or DLC. Even if you go through the Dens until you have one of each 1-star raid Pokemon that's still a low number of Pokemon to pick from.

Yes, but only the Wild Pokemon of each area, no Raid Dens or Dynamax Adventure. Since the Crowned Tundra won't let you catch anything roaming around you can only catch some of the wild Pokemon in the Wilds and Isle of Armor. Given that the Isle of Armor power scales with you, that makes it okay.

Yes, but only the Raid Dens, no roaming Pokemon or Dynamax Adventures. While you have access to a ton of Pokemon, you'll have to really work for them and only be able to go after specific ones.

Yes, everything but the Dynamax Adventures. Every Pokemon that can be caught otherwise is way below level 60-65 and so is fair game as there's still a lot of work that needs to be done with training.

Yes to everything. You have the full game and DLC so you should be able to use it however you please and by technicality it is all before the first Gym.

While I am asking a pretty big question, I won't actually follow whatever the answer is. This is just to see what the popular vote is and when I do these runs, I usually do a lot of them within the same game. I've done three of this specific run in Crystal alone due to how many options there are and it has given me so much respect and love for Donphan, Ariados, and Ursaring in those games. So all the Pokemon I can use is going to make the game fun as these Challenge runs are more like FunRuns than full Challenge runs.

Also, I apologize so hard to the following Poke-Tumblrs. I just don't know how else to get the widest sample size. If you guys don't wanna be here, to deal with the reblogs and excess notes please let me know and I'll remove you from the list.

The third Pokémon I caught in Galar was Alcremie, I met her on Road 4 by a pastry truck shop, she was trying to sneak some gummy candies for herself, she got caught by the owner but who could get mad at such cute tiny Pokémon, instead she gave her extra gummies and she went to stack them behind a tree a bit farther. I grabbed a purple gummy in the shape of a bowtie in my own cake and gave it to her, Milcery was really appreciative and started running around me, I couldn't help but catching her, which she didn't complain about, getting her out after I was too extatic and taking her in my hands I spun on myself and to everyone's surprise she evolved, the dex says she became a Rainbow Swirl Alcremie and honestly the way she looks is my favorite of all of them. Thought very small and Shy she's also very tough, careful to her Dazzling Gleam, Aromatherapy, Recover and Energy Ball, combined with Sweet Veil she cannot be stopped and can last very long.

Avery: General Head Canons

A/N: I was bored and decided to post my general head canons about my favorite psychic trainer :) (This is my first time posting head canons, so I'm actually a bit nervous. Please let me know if I did ok ^^')

Non-Binary and uses They/Xem pronouns and is omnisexual

Likes to style their hair into ponytails or braids.

Their eye color is actually silver. They only look blue due to xem using their telekinesis constantly. You'll likely only see it if xyr too exhausted to use telekinesis.

Hates mud with a passion! If even the smallest speck of it gets on their clothes, xe will curse it into oblivion.

Is determined to prove to prove to their family that xyr telekinesis is just as good as telepathy or teleportation. So they train xyr telekinesis so they can lift heavy objects.

Tends to strain themselves when training xyr telekinesis. Which causes awful headaches. To which Honey has to take care of by giving them herbal tea. They've memorized the recipe due to how often it happens.

Xyr telekinesis tends to go awry when stressed. Like if they have nightmares or is panicking. Expect everything around them to suddenly start levitating.

Tends to have nightmares about their family calling them a disappointment. But is too prideful to admit they any kind of comfort or was crying.

They have a younger sister named Agate who is two years younger. The only family member who loves them no matter what. Will go to the ends of the earth for their sibling ♡

A bit of an attention seeker. Loves any bit of attention.

Has a praise kink (not in a NSFW way!) Absolutely loves any kind of praise. Will play it off as cool, but is internally melting.

Cares for their pokemon very much. Will make sure to give them the best care xe can. Will 100% buy whatever their pokemon wants. Wither it be a toy, food, or whatever.

Is actually physically strong. Can easily do push ups with their Galarian Slowbro on their back.

Will never admit to being sick until their too sick to even stand.

Secretly likes cute things, but will never admit to it. They totally don't have like 20 plushies in their room. Totally.

Loves elegant and fashionable clothing. But will get casual clothing if it's a good shade of purple. Also really likes hair accessories.

Likes sweets, but their pride won't let xem admit it. 100% has a secret stash of sugary snacks and treats hidden in their room.

Xe don't like dark type pokemon, but has nothing against trainers who uses them.

Has a mild fear of ghost type pokemon, which they will not admit to. Will avoid any place they frequent if possible.

Between Kubfu and Ogerpon, I feel like Gamefreak did a better job at making me feel attached to Ogerpon than I ever did with Kubfu. I think the Isle of Armor was too quick and wasn't much of a story, instead, it was a series of chores that Mustard had for the player. Befriending and evolving Kubfu felt like it was a task instead of a fun part of a progressing story.

Ogerpon, on the other hand, you get to spend more time with her before you catch her. She also has a fun battle sequence, and her whole storyline is attached to the people you meet in Kitakami. Unlike Kubfu, who Mustard just has and gives away to worthy students.

Though, I have come around to my Urushifu, and it's pretty sick to have it around with me while exploring Kitakami.
