A soft gentle touch. 

"It's alright… Listen to my voice…"

The coaxing murmur reached his ears as his eyes slid shut. The voice was a melody projecting comfort and safety. The raging storm in his mind became tranquil, the ripples settling in a peaceful calm. The gentle pet called forth another memory, a better one, a happier one.

Pokemon and human sat on the shoreline, staring out into the endless expanse of the ocean. A gentle breeze rolled in, salt lingering in the air as the pair observed the tide come and go. The pair were always together, Roshi and Asumi, companions thick and through. He was only a small Growlithe then, not the Arcanine of this day and age. 

"Roshi." She stroked the Growlithe's fur, her fingers massaging his favorite spot, his tail thumping. "I'm thinking of leaving the island. I want to see the world. There's more out there than this tiny island. And I was thinking maybe you can come with me." 

There was no doubt he would come along. The canine was devoted to her. Only her. Seeing the intensity in his eyes at her words, she laughed, a soothing chime to his ears, "Course you will. I shouldn't have believed otherwise. But here," she unwrapped the scarf around her hair, beaming as she wrapped it around his neck, "I want you to have this. People will know and not think you're feral. We leave tomorrow afternoon. Wait here." A pat on the head.

Roshi waited. 

And waited. 

Watching the gentle tide lap the shore. 

His eyes snapped open, grief filling him. He had buried that memory. Locked tight behind a key, not once thinking of that day. Then he became aware of the soothing voice in the present, not the past. 

Not Asumi… 

He glared balefully at the human- No it was Kyorge, he corrected himself, fear receding to an encroaching wave of old anger rising from within. "Don't touch me." A snarl, a warning.

I love the contrast between Archie's smooth lines and maxie's more jagged and ridged ones. I just like fish monster Archie in general. I love his weird anchor too. Dragging it around. Is there a super cool backstory to this ghost too? Maybe a fallen member of Aqua who died when kyorge awoke?

ehehe glad you like him! in my head i think of my archie as a bit more of a "whale monster" than a "fish monster" even though he has gills (think orca kyogre). and maxie gets to be one of those spiky desert lizards

on the topic of archie's dhelmise: it's not a pokemon he had originally before awakening kyogre. he tries not to think about its origin too much, because this dhelmise was once the anchor on the now-sunken aqua submarine...

So I just finished watching "Pokemon Ranger And The Temple Of The Sea"(good movie and I cried when Manaphy said "Love you mama"-) and like, Manaphy and Kyorge have to be related in some way right-?

Consider the following:

Archie centeric pokemas event story.

It follows Archie taking Kyorge to the pokemon center to get patched up after a bout with Maxie. They're both there so to avoid the awkward silence he goes near the jukebox and turns it on. Only to be greeted by the chatot that lives on top of it. He 'chats' with the little thing for a while. Then learns from Trista that it has no trainer, and is really warming up to him. She's been worried about the thing because she's never seen it fly. Archie decides to take in the little flightless bird, and nurses it back to health. Carrying it around everywhere and letting it be on his shoulder constantly. A few team break grunts make fun of him for it but he just washes them away with kyorge. It's then that chatot becomes his sync pair. Brendan notices the bird gone from its usual post and goes to find it with Archie. He tells Archie that he must be happy with the new bird, but Archie confesses that he's not. He's angry, livid that someone would just abandon such a sweet pokemon. He rants to Brendan about how awful humans can be to pokemon. And why nature should be the one in charge. Why he can never agree with Maxie. Brendan and he get to have a heart to heart and Archie gets to explain his motives a bit better. They both learn to understand each other a bit more. In the end Archie's conviction and will power with the power of sync stones help chatot fly again.

The event would be called, old grudge, new wings. And there would be a twin event but with Maxie finding a new partner and explaining why Archie is wrong to may.

#after the villain event in pokemas i was left disappointed bc the event focused on admins (which i dont mind) and then swerved to steven #the bosses became background characters. they didn't even appear in the main screen :/ #the story itself is fine but i still felt kinda inappropriate (?) bc it didn't focus on the bosses themselves. unlike other villain events #so having bosses focused events would be very nice imo #asks
