I love how Xerneas made a comeback in Pokemon Snap- was super hard to take a photo of her glowing with colours since she was far too fast and difficult for me to hit with orbs. I eventually got one, although it wasn't the greatest.

btw i just wanna do a fun note here about nemona's character and intent as stuff.
Nemona is a pushy over zealous person. This is just how she is. But she's also more than that, and it often goes neglected in people's readings/interpretations of her. If the intended reading of Nemona of fans was meant to be "pushy and annoying", or more extreme than that as seen in some peoples readings, then this little dialouge set is the perfect place to emphasize it.
See that gif is from outside the pokemon league after you become Champion. Nemona asks you to be "rivals for life!" It's a request to not just be her friend, but a friend who shares her interest and pushes her to do better, something she's been sorely lacking.
And you can tell her, "no."
The first few times you to this, Nemona jokes and teases, says she didn't hear you (you say no again), that she's not going to stop until you say yes (you say no again.)
That's when that gif happens. Nemona doesn't smile as she's joking, instead she just looks very worried. The camera pulls out on this line, making her smaller in frame as she pulls her self inward, cradling one arm and raising it to her lips. She's confused and concerned.
After that line, you can deny her again, and she'll simply resort to "Me! You! Rivals! Yes?", the same pose and expression on her face.
She's not happy and joking, she's not smiling, but she's not angry. She's not aggressive.
And that's where a lot of readings fall flat, i think, they don't take into account her character beyond that inital zealousness, and I agree the writing is hidden and she wasn't given the same depth as the others, but the writing is there.
If Nemona was meant to be read as simply aggressive and constantly over zealous, why not stop eariler? Stop at "Sorry, not going to stop until I hear a yes-", it's a great place to loop dialogue isn't it?
I'm not gonna go into a long rant about this scene and Nemona's ND coding, or about how when i see players get this scene in playthroughs, how they literally and metaphorically misread it, or much else here. I'll just leave it on that it's there, that when you tell Nemona you don't want to rival her again and again, it's not aggression she meets you with.
More I'd say, a concern and confusion.

what was the design concept behind demon jester?
okay so i'll be honest, i don't remember anything nor can i find anything back about what i did while drawing that design LOL so this is me spitballing for the most part what i GUESS i was doing at the time.
It had to look like the shit straight out of a nightmare/a "corrupted" version of his default design, so i did want to keep his design recognizable from his initial appearance. my idea was to keep him humanoid but there being some stuff that's really out of place otherwise, like extra limbs and eyes. the mask also actually turned into a face that can emote and move its mouth and everything while initially it's literally just that; a mask, so it wouldn't change expressions or anything.
that being said though i think i just came up with stuff on the fly and didn't really go through the process of drafting up a million different pieces of concept art since i had a pretty clear idea as of what i wanted right away fgfnfdghfg

Honestly after talking with some friends, this is the impression I get from them so have this silly meme. Oh and the what-if scene for HZ023, if you care.
All jokes aside, I genuinely had fun writing this! This is how I personally would love to see happen. I hope it'll be an enjoyable read haha!
Series: Pokemon Horizons
Characters: Friede, Amethio
Mild warning for description of character injury. And HZ022-HZ023 spoilers.
--
The loud screech that emanated deep within the mines stole his attention and halted the battle between them. Friede did say Amethio wouldn’t catch him looking away but his eyes automatically flickered to the source. What he saw emerging from the tunnel made his blood run cold.
Liko and Roy. Cap, badly wounded in Liko’s arms. Something big and angry chasing after them.
“Charizard, Flamethrower!” Friede ordered almost immediately.
His trusted partner swiftly fired off a stream of fire from its mouth, hitting the Pokemon that looked like Moltres dead center.
“Friede!” He heard Liko yell as the mine cart rapidly brought the kids and Cap away–hopefully towards safety.
“Keep going! Take care of Cap!”
Liko’s desperate scream of his name made his heart ache with guilt but Friede couldn’t afford to spare them any more attention, not when the flaming Pokemon turned its fury filled sights upon him.
To his brief surprise, he zeroed in on the Ancient Pokeball grasped between its talons. So, this was one of Lucius’s Pokemon too? Like Rayquaza and Arboliva?
The Moltres lookalike once again screeched in fury, and Friede swore he saw fire-like aura emitting from it. All of them had to dodge the bevy of Air Slash crescents fired off from its wings, where some veered towards the tunnel where Liko and Roy escaped earlier. It swiftly caused that mineshaft to collapse.
Ah, so more like Rayquaza than the gentle Arboliva then. Got it.
“Guess I made it mad,” he uttered, smirking nervously. While Friede enjoyed battling against strong opponents, even he knew better than to contend with multiple enemies at once. At least between the two in front of him, one could be reasoned with. Hopefully.
“Hey! Temporary truce?” Friede spoke to the still frozen Amethio. That snapped the teen out of whatever trance he’d been in.
“What? Why–”
“Look out! Flamethrower!” Friede ordered, to which his Charizard readily fired off another stream of flames towards the wave of dark purple energy targeting Amethio and Ceruledge. Chillingly, the Flamethrower passed through it so nothing stopped the attack from hitting Trainer and Pokemon head on.
“Amethio! Charizard, go up close and use Dragon Claw!”
With a mighty flap of his wings, Charizard surged upwards with gleaming orange claws, rearing them back before striking at the furious Pokemon.
In the meantime, Friede rushed towards Amethio and Ceruledge. Both of them were flat on the ground, looking like they were struggling to get up. He didn’t spot any immediate visible wounds but their actions indicated that something was wrong still.
“What’s wrong? Where are you hurt?”
“Ngh… it’s like all my energy’s been sapped,” Amethio replied through gritted teeth. He had pushed himself onto his elbows, looking past Friede to stare at the Moltres currently engaged in an aerial battle with Charizard.
An attack that sapped away at one’s stamina? If Friede looked closely, both Amethio and Ceruledge breathed out what appeared to be black wisps. Through his extensive knowledge of Pokemon and their moves, he was genuinely at a lost. He’d never seen an attack–outside of Ghost-type moves–that didn’t directly harm the user but drained their energy before.
Charizard’s roar drew Friede’s attention to his flier. He saw Charizard swooped out of the way from that odd attack again but within the enclosed area, his room to fly around was pretty limited. The moment that Moltres get a good solid hit in, it was over.
Friede swiftly checked his surroundings. Aside from the mineshaft that the kids emerged from and the one that collapsed behind him, there was one more that he vaguely recall Amethio coming out from. While he wasn’t keen on entering deeper into the mines, their priority right now was to get away.
A small part of him bemoaned the loss of fighting against such a strong opponent but he couldn’t be selfish here. Not when he needed to get Amethio towards safety. He might be someone who stood against him but he too was painfully mortal, just like Friede was. It didn’t matter that they were enemies once that Moltres got its fury filled talons on their squishy bodies.
“Right, we’re gonna head there. Return your Ceruledge and see if you can hold on,” Friede instructed, already in the process of looping one of Amethio’s arms across his shoulders.
“What are you–let go of me!” Right, why would this guy make things easy for him?
“Now’s not the time! Unless you want to take your chances with that thing, we’re getting out of here!” Friede hissed back, losing all traces of his playfully serious mood. From the corner of his eye, he saw how Charizard collided with the stone wall from one of its Air Slashes. His partner wouldn’t last that much longer.
Thankfully, Amethio finally took the hint. After returning Ceruledge, he quieted down even if Friede sensed the disgruntled air coming from him once he pulled the skinny teen to his feet, one of his arms looped around the other’s waist. Amethio did not walk unsteadily but it still took effort for Friede to support him without them swerving from the straight path towards the open mineshaft.
Just as they reached it, a loud screech halted them. Friede risked a look behind, feeling his heart drop to his stomach upon seeing his downed Charizard. Now the Moltres had its furious sights on them again.
It curled its wings in, gaining an ominous sheen to it before the Moltres released another wave of Air Slashes towards them. Friede didn’t think much when he shoved Amethio inside the mineshaft while he rolled to the side. His ankle screamed at him when he scrambled to his feet, nearly buckling underneath his weight. The slashes barely missed him, though the ones that did connect started to cause the entrance to crumble.
If he was to get stuck in here and get ripped to shreds, Friede wanted to at least return his Charizard to spare it that gruesome fate.
Just as he raised his Pokeball to return Charizard, a purplish figure dashed out of the slowly collapsing entrance. Friede heard a call for “Phantom Force!” over the Moltres’s screech and the sound of his partner now safe in its Pokeball.
Friede spotted Ceruledge emerging from its portal to slash at Moltres from above, effectively drawing its attention that he could stumble his way to the mineshaft, pushing through the fire that surged from his ankle. He just about avoid a fallen support beam, then fell past Amethio who quickly returned his Ceruledge.
Another loud screech, then the entrance really started collapsing in earnest. Friede instinctively curled into a ball, arms going up to protect his head as earth and stone fell around him. After what felt like forever, it finally stopped.
It was quiet, the only sounds were his labored breaths, and the occasional creak of the settling wreckage. Friede tried to breathe slowly, to calm the rising panic within his chest but all he got was a mouthful of dust. He coughed and wished he had something to wash out the film lining his teeth.
Once his lungs settled down, Friede remembered that he wasn’t alone.
“You alive?”
“Unfortunately,” Amethio grumbled his response, coming somewhere from his left with a pain laced voice. Friede pushed himself up onto his elbows and tried to squint at the other through his still adjusting vision. He couldn’t see any visible wounds aside from the gash that sluggishly bled from Amethio’s forehead. At the very least it looked like he could move normally again.
Pushing through the sharp spike that came from his left leg, Friede army crawled a few feet away from the pile of rubble that temporarily separated them from that dangerous Pokemon still screeching in anger. Once he neared a tarp covered box, he used it as leverage to pull himself up into a sitting position, gasping from both exertion and pain.
With his legs spread out in front of him, Friede knew his left ankle was at least twisted, at worst outright broken. He supposed no good deed goes unpunished.
“Why did you do that?” As if sensing his thoughts, Amethio hissed out. In the dim lighting, Friede just about made out his angry, somewhat confused scowl. “We would’ve made it. You foolishly got yourself hurt because you tried to play the hero.”
“A thank you would’ve been nice,” Friede replied, sporting a wry grin. He released a slow breath afterwards. “But to answer your question, don’t know. Body just reacted.”
He truly didn’t have an answer for it. Friede saw danger and his first reaction was to keep Amethio out of harm’s way. He’d likely do that for anyone, really. That was just his nature; to fiercely guard and protect those around him, which apparently included Amethio at that moment.
For a bit, no words passed between them. His silence was based on breathing through the pain while Amethio’s appeared cold, maybe contemplative even. The screeching had stopped for the time being so that Moltres probably gave up. Hopefully. Friede wondered if its rage would prompt it to cause the entire mine to collapse.
“...where are you hurt?” Amethio’s question caught him by surprise. Friede fought to mask it, instead raising an eyebrow at the cool gaze settling upon him.
“Left ankle. Probably twisted it,” he replied. Friede instinctively tensed up at Amethio’s approach, hand twitching to the Pokeball that held his injured Charizard. To his continued surprise, the teen crouched in front of his stretched out legs.
“Hey, watch it!” Friede yelped at the initial touch on his boot, the slight jostle causing a flare up of pain. Amethio briefly paused, then continued to ease his boot out in a gentler manner. He didn’t think the other had it in him to be mindful honestly.
Friede gritted his teeth through the careful probing. Even he could tell it felt swollen and tender, nevermind the pain that sparked up from the affected area.
“This needs a splint,” Amethio spoke up after several minutes of silence. He stood up from his crouched position, making a brief sweep of his surroundings. “Those broken beams over there should suffice for now. The only thing left is some kind of cloth to wrap them around your leg and keep them in place.”
Friede considered Amethio’s words. He didn’t expect this level of cooperation but he supposed desperate times called for desperate measures. He shouldn’t look a gift Rapidash in the mouth so he dipped a hand into his pocket, pulling out a small pocket knife.
“Here. Should be able to use this to cut strips from the tarp covering this box. You’d have an easier time doing it than me right now,” he explained, handing the item to Amethio.
Amethio didn’t reach out to grab it, not at first. Friede found himself at the other end of a slightly incredulous gaze.
“What? My arm’s getting sore.”
“You’d hand me a blade that I can point at you?”
Well, considering their usual dynamics, Friede supposed he understood his confusion. He wasn’t too keen about it himself but he banked on what he knew of Amethio’s character from the various times they clashed.
“I mean, I don’t think you’re the sort who’d stab a guy when he’s down. Too easy of a win for you, no?”
For a moment, Friede wondered if he messed up at the sudden shift in Amethio’s expression. He looked downright annoyed now, his right eye twitching ever so slightly. Did he incite the teen to actually stab him?
Before Friede could store away the knife, Amethio swiped it from his grasp. He sidestepped him to yank at the tarp, pulling it off the box.
“Hold onto this corner and keep it taut,” Amethio all but ordered. Deciding to not push his luck, Friede did as he was told. Soon, they had various haphazard strips that should fit their purposes.
Amethio dropped the knife by Friede’s side instead of nicely handing it back to him. A tad rude but hey, definitely better than fending himself off from angry stabs. Amethio soon returned to his side with a couple of broken support beams, roughly in the size they needed to make a temporary splint.
Friede remained still while Amethio set about in placing the planks on both sides of his left leg. He sort of tuned out the entire process, mostly thinking about where Amethio got this knowledge from. Did he get injured often? As strong as Amethio was in battles, Friede was aware that he didn’t look that much older than Liko and Roy.
Why was someone as young as him a part of the Explorers? He’d entertain that thought from time to time, admittedly. Whose orders did he follow that he’d chase them from Kanto? Friede was certain that he faced off a different Explorer back in Paldea. It just wasn’t Amethio’s style to resort to trickery and subterfuge. He could have easily went after Liko and Roy when they were separated from him instead of opting to battle.
“...there. How does that feel?” Amethio’s question drew him back to the present. Friede blinked, eyes glancing down at the makeshift splint.
“Doesn’t feel too tight. Thanks,” he replied after carefully moving his leg. That should help keep his leg stabilized until he gets his ankle properly treated.
Friede leaned back against the box, took a few deep breaths before looking up at Amethio's quiet gaze. He extended a hand towards the other. "Help me up? Don't know about you but I'd like to find a way out of here."
Amethio eyed his hand like it was something foul but he did grasp it. After a bit of awkward maneuvering, Friede got to his feet, putting minimal pressure on his bad ankle by leaning his weight against Amethio. Instead of shoving him off, the teen simply mimicked his earlier position by wrapping an arm around his waist while one of Friede's arms was draped across Amethio's shoulders.
"Guess our only choice is to go down there and hope it'll lead to an exit," Friede stated, vaguely gesturing to the path that wasn't blocked off by debris and rubble.
"It'll lead to an open chamber with multiple paths. One of them is an exit," Amethio replied, already making the first move to get him walking.
"Huh." Friede would've asked where his confidence came from but then he recalled Amethio coming out from this tunnel earlier. He couldn't help but wonder for just how long the Explorers kept an eye on them. The very moment they landed in Galar? Friede wanted to keep a low profile by traveling on foot but that seemed to be a bust since Amethio found him all the way here.
Initially, it took them a few tries to find a way where the height difference and Friede's awkward gait didn't impede their pace. Once they found a rhythm, thus began a slow yet steady walk down the mostly dim tunnel. His eyes had since adjusted, and after a few minutes, he spotted a pinprick of light in the distance.
"Oh good, looks like we're close. Usually people say 'don't go into the light!' but in our case, it's a blessing, yeah?" Friede chattered on, having done so for the past minute since he didn't like how the silence settled on his skin.
"A head injury would be preferable if it gets you to shut up." Amethio didn't give him a response before but it seemed that he was really getting on his nerves now.
"Oof, a lil' harsh." There might be a hint of a pout to his voice but Friede got the message. He didn't know whether Amethio was above just dropping him like a sack of potatoes so he kept his mouth shut until their claustrophobic surroundings opened up to a larger chamber.
It looked similar to the one they were fighting in before with the same tunnels that led to who knows where. Amethio led them down to the leftmost one, presumably the mineshaft he came in from before.
Friede couldn't tell how much time had passed. His entire body slowly became one giant ache as he hobbled along, hating the stiffness from the makeshift splint. The edges rubbed against his leg in a way that was noticeable even through the fabric of his trousers. He kept reminding himself that this was necessary even if he wanted nothing more than to get it off.
Had he been a lesser person, seeing the light at the end of this tunnel would've reduced him to tears. At last, fresh air once they properly exited the mines. Friede wasn't the claustrophobic sort usually but seeing greenery and open space around him, not to mention breathing in dust free air nearly made him crash in relief.
Amethio led him to a nearby tree. Once Friede had a hand on the trunk, the teen swiftly released him like he couldn't stand being pressed close for even a second longer. He watched Amethio dust himself off, futile as it was. Both of them looked like they just crawled out of the ground.
"Don't forget to get that treated," Friede found himself speaking up, tipping his head at the now dried blood that caked Amethio's upper brow.
He received a blank stare for that. "Duly noted. Take your own unwanted advice."
Well, he supposed that since they were free, all false niceties were off the table. Not that Amethio put much effort in keeping his disdain hidden. They had to work together under unexpected circumstances. Now that the threat no longer loomed over their heads, they returned to their previous dynamic of being enemies.
"I'd love to continue our previous battle but–take a rain check for it, yeah? Promise I'll give it everything I got next time."
There will be a next time. So long as Amethio chased after the pendant, they will inevitably clash. Such was the nature for them who stood on opposite ends.
(Sometimes Friede did wonder how it'd be like if Amethio had been an ally instead. Perhaps they'd get along better, or maybe even be friends).
Amethio didn't respond. Instead, he turned around and released his Corviknight.
"Huh, forgot you had that mon," Friede mused. Seeing their fiery opponent (both figuratively and literally), he supposed Amethio didn't want to pit his Steel-type against it earlier.
Friede watched as the teen swiftly got onto his Corviknight. Before his flier took off, Amethio briefly glanced back at him.
"Prepare yourself," was all he said prior to the Corviknight becoming airborne. Friede stared at the pair until they flew out of sight.
With a deep sigh, he allowed his shoulders to slump. Exhaustion and pain weighed him down in different measures. He made a quick swipe at his face, took in a measuring breath before releasing his Charizard.
His partner was quick to growl its worry. The time spent in its Pokeball allowed the Fire-type a bit of recovery room but they wouldn't be winning any battles until Charizard got properly treated.
"Hey, sorry for worrying you. I'm fine–well, I will be," Friede quickly amended at Charizard's pointed look to his makeshift splint. He gave his starter a few good scratches underneath his chin.
"Do you think you can give me a lift back to Motostoke? I think the kids would bring Cap there. Just take it nice and easy."
Charizard easily accepted his request. It turned around and lowered itself to the ground, much more than usual to compensate for Friede's current state. He winced from all the jostling but soon, he sat as comfortably as he could on Charizard's back.
Slowly, as if testing his wings, Charizard gave a few flaps. It became stronger, and then they were airborne.
As Friede settled down during their slow flight back to Motostoke, his mind went back to the Moltres back in the mines. Seeing that it was likely connected to the Lucius, they very well couldn't leave it alone. Liko and Roy wouldn't want to leave a mystery like this unsolved, nor did he.
Well Friede didn't plan on facing it unprepared. He might come back on crutches but he was determined to have the upper hand next time. He fished out his Rotom Phone, dialing a number until it connected.
"Friede? What is it?"
"Hey Dot. So, long story short, I need your help in looking into something for me…"

i love to imagine balls or formal dances at the pokémon scarlet and violet academies - like the purple/orange themes and the pokémon aaaaa
can i pretty please get an arven x reader (gn! - but preferably wearing a floor length dress?) either hcs or a fic of him being your date to the dance? maybe a bit of nsfw/suggestive content in between or after the dance?? i ADORE all your arven work btw <3
Oh man I've been low-key thinking about a prom thing for the academy... Mainly because I came across my prom pics and I remembered how slick I looked in that suit and how amazing my GF looked. She bought ME flowers can you believe it it was so amazing
Sorry this took ages I'm a very lazy man. Also, in an effort to keep this as gender neutral as possible, I didn't explicitly describe the reader's outfit. I left it up to your imagination though!!!
As a small apology for not putting the reader in a gown, I drew the friend group in their outfits for this. Can find that right here on my main blog!
Tumblr media
Arven X GN Reader
The academy hosts a yearly ball, and champions have to participate. Unfortunately for Arven, his partner is a Champion, and forced him to come. He's not one for big social gatherings, but at least they're there to make it easier...
Reader is the SV protagonist, and is 18+. Same with Arven. Reader's appearance is left vague, and they have a Skeledirge. Reader is mentioned to be wearing something in their favorite color, and also mentions feeling overdressed at one point. Their clothing is not described other than that. Arven's outfit is explicitly described though.
Author's note: An interaction between Arven and the Champ gets a little spicy, but there's nothing explicit. Just wandering hands and making out. Not a smut, but just be aware of that!! Also background Penny/Nemona because I love them.
🚨⚠️ CONTAINS MAJOR SV SPOILERS!!! ⚠️🚨
Tumblr media
Arven had never been a fan of big gatherings. Too many people clumped together in one place, too much noise and clamor. It always overloaded his brain.
Today, though, he was putting that distaste aside for ____. The Academy was hosting a formal ball of sorts for it's students, and attendance was mandatory for the two Champion representatives. ____ was less than thrilled about this news, and had basically begged Arven to come with them.
What kind of boyfriend would he have been if he declined?
Arven was currently standing in front of the mirror in his dorm, anxiously fixing his lilac blazer. He owned a grand total of one formal outfit, and he worried over whether or not it suited him. He'd tied his hair up at ____'s request, though he was concerned the hairtie he'd used would snap.
"What do you think, Mabosstiff? Is this- nice enough? Fancy enough?" He asked his buddy without really thinking, looking at the Pokemon through the mirror. Mabosstiff lifted his head, tail thumping against the floor.
"Wuff!" He barked helpfully, standing up to trundle up to Arven. The trainer gave him a worried pat on the head, sighing mournfully.
"Thanks, bud... I am in way over my head." Arven huffed, rubbing the bridge of his nose. He perked up when he heard a knock at the door, adjusting his jacket one more time before hustling to open it.
____ looked about as anxious as he was, continually fixing their hair even if it already looked nice.
"Oh- H-Hey." They cleared their throat, rubbing the back of their neck. "You look good with your hair up like that. Not that you don't always look good, but... It's nice to see both of your eyes."
"Thanks!" Arven mindlessly tried to hook his thumbs in pockets that weren't there. ____ was wearing an outfit that suited them perfectly, in a color he knew was their favorite - they looked absolutely stunning. He probably could've just stood there and stared for the rest of the night. "You- you look incredible. I mean that, by the way."
"Oh, you. I feel so overdressed, it's ridiculous..." ____'s tension seemed to die as they laughed, walking forward to wrap him in a tight hug he happily returned. "...I'm really nervous. I have to give a whole speech, and I am not looking forward to it."
"You'll do amazing, I know you will." He reassured them, pressing a feather-light kiss to their forehead. "You always do amazing."
____ sighed, lingering on the spot for a few moments longer before they released Arven. Their arm was still looped in his, though, keeping him close to them.
"Alright, I'm ready as I'll ever be. Let's go find Penny and Nemona." They sighed. Arven gave them a final reassuring squeeze before they went off together.
The Academy's halls were oddly empty, considering how many students it had - it seemed most had already flocked down to where the event was taking place. There were a few stragglers here and there, mostly students waiting to meet up with their friends.
"Nemona said she's in the plaza already... Damn, that probably means we have to do our big speeches soon." ____ huffed, nervously scrolling through their texts. "Oh, man... You know how I said I was ready earlier? I'm not. I'm definitely not. What if I stutter and screw up, or I lose my train of thought? This is in front of *everyone*!"
"Hey, hey, you'll be alright. You can handle anything - you saved the entire region from an ecological disaster. You ride around on the back of a legendary pokemon, and you caught pokemon that are complete enigmas AND made them your friends!" Arven paused to grab their face, squishing their cheeks in his palms. "One speech won't hurt you. It doesn't matter if you stutter or lose your train of thought, or forget what you wanted to say entirely. You are absolutely incredible."
The two trainers were silent for a long moment, before ____ sniffled. Arven panicked.
"Oh, I didn't mean to make you cry- please don't cry, I'm sorry!!" He wrapped them up in a hug, one they reciprocated shakily.
"You're too good to me!" ____ exclaimed dramatically, burying their face in his chest. "Ohhh, I don't mean to get so emotional!"
"Deep breaths, just settle... In and out." Arven ran a hand down their back in an attempt to soothe them. They went quiet after a minute or so, wiping away at their eyes.
"Okay, I'm okay. I'm alright." ____ seemed to be assuring themselves more than Arven, which he thought was a smart choice. He continued to hold them even after they made to pull away, keeping an arm around their shoulders. "I've got this. All I've gotta do is- is talk about how the Academy helped me."
"You can do it. If not for me, do it for Mabosstiff." Arven joked lightly, and ____ laughed along.
"Right. Do it for Mabosstiff... And Skeledirge." They nodded wisely, and he hummed in agreement. The couple finally made their way down to the plaza - the faculty had set up a rudimentary stage, evidently for the sole purpose of speeches. The rest of the school plaza was decorated with lights, which made the whole place look lovely. Students milled about with their Pokemon, and staff chatted amiably with eachother.
Arven spotted Penny near the foot of the stairs - she was more dressed up than he'd ever seen her before, wearing a pastel dress and a fluffy coat. It almost reminded him of her eeveelutions... She was probably inspired by them. Penny was standing next to Nemona, chatting with Giacomo, Mela, and Ortega. Nemona had her arm slung casually around Penny's shoulder, and Arven could see from here that Penny was redder than a fresh tomato.
"Hey! ____, Arven!" Nemona spotted them first, lighting up as she waved. The former leaders of Team Star parted ways with a quiet 'Hasta la vistar! ☆', and the four remaining students met in the middle. "You both look great! Oh, ____, are you ready for-"
"The speeches we have to give." ____ groaned, prompting Nemona to scuff their shoulder playfully.
"You'll be fiiiine! It isn't the end of the world!" Nemona beamed, making Penny chortle.
"I dunno, talking in front of a lot of people is kind of the worst thing EVER." Penny gave ____ a sympathetic little shrug. "Talking in front of a few people sucks almost as bad, though."
"You get it." ____ sighed, slumping against Arven. "You both look great, by the way."
"Beat me to it." Nemona joked. Arven finally took the time to see what she was wearing - a deep maroon suit, much like his, with a bright red bowtie and a simple white dress shirt. She seemed to forgo wearing the jacket, wearing it like a cape over her shoulders... It reminded him vaguely of the Galarian champion, what was his name? Penny probably knew. "I helped Penny pick out her stuff - she didn't have anything to wear!"
"I wasn't planning on coming til you invited me." Penny huffed, though she didn't look upset. Before anybody else could talk, both ____ and Nemona's phones pinged.
"Ope - it's time! Come on, let's get it over with so we can have our Academy Double Date! Even if I'd prefer it be a Double BATTLE...." Nemona's voice trailed off as she grabbed ____ by the wrist and dragged them off. Arven gave their hand a final squeeze before they followed along, a final 'good luck.'
"Alright, Pipsqueak, let's find somewhere to watch." Arven adjusted his coat again, though it really didn't need adjusting. He made his way towards the gathering crowd, but Penny stopped him.
"Somewhere I can actually see from, ideally, you Big Lunk." Penny scolded, jabbing a finger over her shoulder towards the makeshift stage. There was an area off to the side that was less populated, and wouldn't require Penny needing to crane her neck to see what was happening.
The pair weaved through the crowds, finally finding a good spot to watch. It was close enough for them to actually hear, but far enough to not get surrounded by other students.
____ and Nemona were up on stage, quietly chatting to Director Clavell. Nemona seemed eager to do her speech, but Arven guessed based on ____'s expression that they were up first. Indeed, they stepped up to the microphone, briefly checking if it was actually on.
The crowd began to quiet as ____ cleared their throat, and soon enough all eyes were on them.
"... It's been almost a year now since I moved to Paldea. Next week, actually, marks a full 365 days." ____ started. "When I first came here from Unova, I admittedly had... Low expectations. For myself, more than anything. I was just some kid from Nuvema Town, I'd never picked up a PokeBall before."
They spotted Arven in the crowd, and he gave them a quiet thumbs up.
"But- y'know, being at the Academy has really changed everything. It's not every day the director himself comes knocking on your door to give you a Pokemon." ____ glanced at Clavell, who adjusted his glasses with a smile. "And it's also not every day you happen to meet your three best friends in the entire world on the same day, within a few hours of eachother. I know a lot of people think the same thing about themselves - oh, I'm just a nobody, I can't do what they do. But I want to tell you all, as someone who WAS a nobody... Success isn't out of reach. With support from your peers, you can climb to any height you can imagine... And I, as one of this school's two champions, am going to be your leverage. We can lift eachother up to be our best, and make something that we can be proud of."
Even if their speech was short and sweet, it got their desired message across - the crowd of students clapped politely as they hopped off the stage, dodging through people with surprising mastery. Arven only realized they were coming right to him when they gestured for him to follow.
"I'll be right back," Arven said, and Penny only vaguely hummed in response. She had her chin propped on her upturned palm, watching Nemona with a dreamy look in her eyes. He excused himself quickly right as Nemona began to talk, of course mentioning her love of battling.
Arven followed ____ up the stairs and into the school, where they rounded a corner into a hall. He lost track of them for a moment, before they grabbed his wrist and yanked him into an empty classroom.
"Why are you-" Arven is silenced when their lips meet his, and they push him back until he's sitting on one of the desks. He flings an arm back to hold himself upright as they casually clamber into his lap, disregarding the fact that they might screw up their nice outfit.
____ holds onto his blazer like a lifeline, and Arven takes a moment to figure out how to keep them both from falling over before he leans into them. They were so tense, it was rather surprising.
He runs his hand down the back of their neck, tracing his fingers down their spine - they shudder when he caresses the dip of their back, making a soft noise that he could barely hear.
"Arven..." They gasp as they pull apart for a moment, before eagerly diving back in for more. He happily reciprocates, finally comfortable enough to set both hands on their hips. Arven runs his palms down their thighs as they slide their fingers underneath his blazer, too impatient to try with the buttons. How long has it been? Arven can't think straight, trailing his hands up their thighs towards-
And then his phone rings. It's Nemona. Of course it is. ____ groans, flopping against him. Obviously this means they have to go back to the actual ball.
"Chin up, it'll be alright. Your big speech is over, I guess it's time we went and had fun." Arven can't help but feel a little disappointed. He did enjoy their time alone.
"Yeah, yeah, Mr. Reasonable." ____ hopped up, fixing their outfit. "Come on, let's not leave Nemona waiting."

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR LIGIT ALL OF SCARLET AND VIOLET
<<~🌼~>>
Ok. So I’m like dead set on Birar being the main villain of Indigo Disk, but I wanted to elaborate a bit on my theory:
Briar is a descendant of Heath, who was a writer and historian. The other professor (I’ll be using Turo for this so it’s easier to write) isn’t even a professor at all- he’s an author, admiring Heath’s work long after his death. Later in life, Turo meets Sada, who also admires Heath, and Briar, who wishes to continue her grandfather’s research by going down to Area Zero again to find Terapagos. Turo and Sada fall in love during the expedition, but they also find the Paradox Pokemon, along with Miraidon and Koraidon, which the team takes in and keeps in their lab located in Area Zero.
Later, Sada gets pregnant with her and Turo’s son, Arven. They take a break and move into the greenhouse next to the lighthouse in Cabo Poco, much to Briar’s dismay. She tries to convince Sada and Turo to come back and bring Arven with them after his birth, to which the parents turn down the offer. Within the time that Arven grows up, Briar becomes a teacher at Blueberry Academy, and decides to visit one day. Sada and Briar get into an argument about the expedition, but Briar manages to convince Sada to continue the expedition with pity points.
Turo reluctantly brings Arven along into Area Zero due to Briar’s request and gets the boy a Maschiff (“So it would be easier to watch him”) as a present. Briar’s insistent nagging of Sada to continue for the good of Paldea makes Sada start neglecting her son, and he befriends Koraidon as a result. Miraidon becomes friendly with Koraidon as well, but Briar is only concerned about finding Terapagos so she can receive the power of the Terastal phenomenon. Fueled by this, she keeps Sada away from those Briar perceive as “threats” to the expedition, namely Turo and Arven.
Turo, concerned about his fiancé's well-being, tries to convince her to come back home and take a break, leading to an argument between them that makes Sada realize her misdeeds. She tells Briar that she and her family will no longer be participating in the expedition, only for another argument between the two women to unfold. Briar, snapping, realizes that the only way Sada will stay is if Turo and Arven are gone.
Soon after Maschiff evolves into Mabosstiff, Briar causes a security breach after intentionally hurting Miraidon to make Koraidon rage. Sada pushes Turo out of the way, and Mabosstiff saves Arven, only for Sada to get killed on contact and for Mabosstiff to get almost killed. Briar tries to convince Turo to stay, but he refuses, breaking off of the expedition and bringing Koraidon and Miraidon with him, seeing that the two Pokemon are his responsibility now. Briar goes back to Blueberry Academy, now not being able to go down to find Terapagos without a permit.
Turo goes into a spiraling depression, creating an AI version of Sada that later realizes its purpose and hides in Area Zero. Turo spirals, leaving Arven and Koraidon in the lighthouse and retreating to the greenhouse with Miraidon, telling his son to never leave the lighthouse until his return with the Scarlet Book while Turo himself takes the Violet Book with him. Turo spends his days trying to pinpoint the location of AI Sada… Until a familiar face greets him.
The familiar face tells him about how she’d seen Arven leave the lighthouse and give Koraidon to some kid trainer who didn’t know what they were doing, and that Turo’s son, the trainer, and two other kids were going into Area Zero. Turo, taking advantage of this, activates a duplicate Miraidon that is extremely hostile towards the group to slow them down, only for AI Sada to stop it. Turo, now knowing AI Sada’s location, takes control of it, hoping that by beating the kids, she’ll return to him. The trainer that Arven had given Koraidon to beat her, which makes Turo lose control of her. AI Sada retreats into the past via a time machine, and Turo sobs into his hands…
… Before he feels a sharp object tear into his chest. He flops over the desk, blood staining his ragged clothes, leaving only Briar standing before him, having had enough of his failure. Now that Sada and Turo were out of the way, she only needed to get their son out of the way… And with the transfer project of Naranja and Blueberry Academy that Cyrano had specifically planned out for her, she would simply use Arven’s little friends to lure him in.
“… And that’s where you come in,” Briar says, her gaze looming over the boy, who stands with his back to her. “I hope you’ll prove your worth, unlike that useless man. Don’t disappoint me, Kieran.”
Anyways thanks for coming to my Ted Talk

Alright time to say it, and I'm pretty sure everyone's figured it out.
But let me explain a few things here and a Theory + possible spoilers if its true.
Kieran definitely wasn't as much of a skilled trainer then as to now, he's mostly shy and behind his older sister, he looks up to her and he's surprised to see the protagonist beat his sister in battle which has him admire us.
During the story Kieran eavesdropped the True story about what really happened about Ogerpon and the Loyal Three, he's distant and cold towards the player and Carmine. I understand his resentment and frustration. But Kieran's actions are fueled by his obsession, and desire to be stronger just like Ogerpon. His obsession about Ogerpon was ruined because Ogerpon chose us, his dream with Ogerpon was destroyed, everything he had was ruined. Thus he wanted one thing, the desire to become stronger so we could battle him listen to his themes, ones more gentle soft, and less complicated, we see him as he's definitely skilled but not in the way we'd see him. The final battle with him is a more complicated hard, it's us being confused and not seeing how he's turning, we're a way out for him, he's stuck he wants out. (More to this in my theory section.)
I enjoy his entire character, and here's the thing people don't realize that Kieran hates us and Carmine, but realize he doesn't specifically hate any one, he'd definitely resent his own family about the whole truth being kept from him, and we feel it, not shown but the music shows his complicated life.
And here's where people are mixed
Most hate Carmine because she's "controlling, mean, etc." well, some older siblings can act like her irl, I mean that literally. What Carmine shows is that she'd be verbal, but not physically abusive to her brother. How he made friends is most likely her being a threat to any new friend he'd make I mean this as a "possibility" and when she comes to tell us about how Kieran has no skill in Ogre Oustin, we could also assume that he wasn't as a skilled trainer so Blueberry Academy would definitely see her as a " Champion" for her serious capabilities of a trainer. I personally enjoy her as throughout the Kitakami story SHE'S the one helping us fight the Loyal Three, SHE took responsibility of Kieran's actions (though indirectly caused as we don't really know what made the Loyal Three come back but I will get to that as a theory section hold your horses.)
The Indigo Disk Story THEORY!!!
Carmine is definitely treated as a "Champion" we know who we'd fight as a final battle which is Kieran, but the characters wont know except for Carmine.
the Master of the Loyal Three was obscured it was "shown" as a thing in Peachy's shop. I have a crazy idea, which I wrote out on a piece of paper at work and lost it but I do remember most of what I wrote.
Kieran's emotions are unstable, his mentality is unstable and being fueled by getting stronger. The Master, is granting his "Wish" to his pure desire of being a Strong trainer, this is the Purple Aura around his right hand in a scene, and possibly seen faintly on a poster. Whether this Master is controlling Kieran or it's fueling his desire to defeat the player.
When we're going to face the champion of Blueberry Academy, we won't see Carmine, we'll see Kieran he's determined, he's ready, he throws his pokemon to battle, but the Master comes out last it's the one who made Kieran lose control of himself, he's been reckless then, and it knew what he was capable of, so it chose him as it's trainer temporarily.
Whether this is during or after Terapagos is depending on how it goes.
If we have Ogerpon in our team Kieran might snap more " Ogerpon..... Why? Why didn't you choose me!? ....Whatever, I will battle you." The theme might be a remix of Kieran's theme but a more dramatic overtone, then it will hit with a sad emotional portions we'd battle Kieran as serious as he is, and controlled by the Master. Once the Master is defeated, it will let go of Kieran and release him to us Kieran might still feel some desired wish to battle us, but this time he's in a more controlled environment as opposed to then
while the Loyal Three Master will most definitely flee somewhere for us to capture it since it's already weakened but because it wasn't necessarily in a Pokeball, this mean's it will definitely challenge us again in a weakened state like how we dealt with Necrozma in Ultra Sun Ultra Moon.
What I'm essentially saying is The Master Granted the Desired wishes to Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti. This means it fuels on the negativity of those who want their wishes, meaning it saw potential in Kieran and fueled his negativity to make him lose control to use it. I know this sounds very much boosh, but I just wanted to make this theory and it would definitely be buried along the way and want people to see this theory.

Please share all the star child headcanons! I love them
rubs my lil hands together buncha Collector headcanons lets goooo,
i thought a LONG time about how they only had freckles on one side of their face. eventually came to the "uh, duh!" conclusion that it's like that because stars are only visible at night and the freckles is on the side of their face that represents the night. I 100% think that if you got them in a completely dark room the other half of their face would suddenly gain glowing freckles too though.
autism.
eyes canonically glow when angry? = they have laser eyes they just didn't use them
all the toys in the scenes with the games and the lil space the Collector had Luz, Eda, and King trapped in either had a sad expression or were damaged; I personally think this is because the stuff the Collector was creating/the general surroundings were reflecting the Collector's emotional state
his species doesn't grow up slowly over time, instead they evolve like pokemon under certain conditions... I can't state what those conditions are cause they're major spoilers for my fic hsldkfjsldkfjs
the Collector tries to physically make a plushie to give to King at some point, as in, he tries to sew one instead of just snapping one into existence. it ends up a lil lopsided
Luz introduces the Collector to the pokemon card game and there is no going back. this kid has pokemon cards falling out of their pockets they have so many
The Collector is very physically strong even without magic and could win most fake-fighting wrestling matches that siblings do, however, if one of the others manages to get him into anything resembling a hug, he just goes limp like a kitten. can you blame them though really they were trapped in a space without touch for like MILLENNIA they need more hugs
The Collector is the youngest of their siblings, however, one of the Archivists is actually the Collector's twin, who "grew up" without them
