I found your ML meta and analysis posts by accident (i think i saw ur latest post abt adrien) and just noticed you have changed your icon into something matching the current spooky month so that's really cool! 😀I didn't think June's hair could be used for more pokemon but it fits haha and it's cool to see a familiar blog on my dash change their icon like this ^^ I'm also curious - have u seen the recent "ML Paris" special or are you thinking of seeing it? I know everyone is now more and more experiencing multiverse fatique from so many franchises doing their own episodes/movies w this theme, but I just find it a curious way to do character exploration. No spoilers but the special was imo kinda fun and also brought new questions into the fore, especially abt the kwami. Anyway, just wanted 2 comment abt the icon but then realized I could ask somerhing about Miraculous as well.

Thank you! My mutuals noted the same thing about Juniper hair going well on a surprising amount of Pokémon, so now I actually have a collection of pink-striped Pokémon icons to choose from. I’m glad other people liked the change too.

I haven’t seen the Paris special and, before people started posting about it, I was pretty sure I was going to skip it. I’m very suspicious about anything the show crew puts out for this franchise with what they ended up doing with seasons 4 and 5. I even ended up losing enthusiasm for the parts of the franchise I do enjoy, like seasons 1-3, and so I haven’t even seen the Shanghai Special yet despite intending to do so while season 4 was still picking up steam.

However, based on what everyone has been saying, it seems that the special managed to avoid everything I was worried about. With the way the show’s been treating Adrien, I had a lot of concerns over how an EvilAdrien take was going to go, but it seems it's not used to villanize Adrien and Adrien actually gets to influence the story of the special and his feelings are brought up and validated? We haven’t seen that since the Christmas Special. If I ignore all the nods at the seasons I despise and pretend this special doesn’t take place in the same timeline, I might be able to make it through this special.

Basically, I'm on the fence about watching the Specials.

Multiverses have been a superhero staple since All-Star Comics issue 3, which came out in 1940. It’s just that companies have only recently gained enough confidence in the superhero genre to go with the more outlandish genre staples. I’m trying to say that, as a superhero connoisseur, I don’t know the meaning of the term multiverse fatigue.

Senti-Pocket Sidekicks Choices

When the chance arose to make their own Pokemon sidekicks with the power of the Peacock Miraculous, the hero team had three options on how to pick their new Pokemon sidekick.

Pick a Pokemon based on their Kwami/Miraculous

Pick a Pokemon that acts similarly to their special move

Pick a Pokemon that they personally like

I'm still not sure which of the three types of logic the heroes would pick, so I decided to do all three for the main 5 team members. I'm gonna include the Pokemon and the one move they're allowed plus the reasoning behind that.

LADYBUG

Ledian [Bug Buzz] - For obvious reasons.

Togekiss [Metronome] - Lucky Charm is a very random move, and so is Metronome. Togepi is the most well-known Metronome user so I just evolved that. Also, I want to see Ladybug fly.

Appletun [Apple Acid] - I just think Marinette would adore sweets based Pokemon and Appletun deserves the world.

CHAT NOIR

Liepard [Sucker Punch] - The first dark typed cat that comes to mind.

Scrafty [Focus Punch] - A devastating punch to mimic Cataclysm. Also, the pokemon is a rebel like what Chat Noir is to Adrien

Greninja [Water Shuriken] - As mentioned before, Adrien would totally have one. Also, it's Greninja instead of Charizard because of France.

RENA ROUGE

Ninetales [Flamethrower] - Evolves from an orange fox

Zoroark [Night Daze] - Illusion and trickster fox. Night Daze could be switched out for Scary Face since its illusions are its ability and not a move.

Lopunny [High Jump Kick] - I think Alya would appreciate the cute but tough Lopunny.

CARAPACE

Caracostta [Hydro Pump] - Its the bulkiest of the turtles that don't have anything extra to distract from its main turtleness (like Blastoise's canons or Torterra's tree)

Chesnaught [Spikey Shield] - Its green and has a signature shield move

Noivern [Boomburst] - A speaker dragon, whats not to love?

QUEEN BEE

Vespiquen [Attack Order] - The most queenly of Bees

Dedene [Thunder Wave] - Thunderwave paralyzes like Venom. Dedene is the Kalos Pikachu clone.

Tsareena [Trop Kick] - A literal queen. I think Chloe would adore that.

thinks in my Pokemon ML verses where very little changes except the kwamis are based off pokemon instead of real animals.

Adrien wants to be a coordinator, his mom did Pokemon performances and maybe was Kalos Queen before her illness from the peacock miraculous forced her retirement. Still a model, his Pokemon partner would be a furfrou at first and I'm DARING blazakin mask to adopt ladybug and chat noir.

Also this is dumb but I started wondering how I would've reacted to Miraculous Ladybug when I was a kid, at various ages? I 100% would've watched it and loved it, and I KNOW I would've come up with my own original characters

What I wonder about is how I would've reacted to Adrien and Marinette. Like, for some shows, I root for what is obviously the main, intended love interest of the show but gravitate towards a lonely side character. In this case, who? Would it have been Luka that I made an OC girlfriend for? Probably would've made her a holder of the mouse miraculous to go with him getting the snake.

For some shows, I totally hate what is obviously the main, intended love interest, and in most cases the female lead has to stay on the show so I just sort of let her do her thing but create a much better original character do not steal for the male lead. So I wonder if I would've done THAT instead of gravitating towards the lonely side characters. I mean Luka wasn't even in season 1 and we don't really get enough screen time for the guys who ARE in it except for Nino, and he sucks. So if that was the path that younger me went on, what would I have done? Would there have been some "white cat" miraculous that pairs up with the black cat miraculous? She probably would've been like Adrien - a young, rich model who's lonely because she's been sheltered her whole life, and he falls for her because who else can understand him? She's also of course kind, talented, beautiful, everybody likes her because every OC I made when I was like 11 was like that if they weren't outrageously quirky but too quirky for anyone to be like "hey you're really annoying, leave us alone."

It's just a weird thing I was thinking about the other day - if this show had been on when I was a kid, what would my reaction to the love stuff have been? For Sailor Moon I left Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask completely alone, and ignored the very rarely present love interests for the other girls in the anime and just made my own. For Ranma 1/2, I left Ranma and Akane alone but did introduce another fiancee just for kicks, while creating an OC for Ryoga (this was before his canonical love interest showed up). And then for Inuyasha I basically went "nah, fuck you" to every single love interest and made up my own for all the dudes, leaving Sango and Kagome forever alone and Kikyo dead.

So I couldn't say for certain which path I'd choose if Miraculous had been on when I was a kid. And I'll never know, but it's fun to think about. But I mean I LOVED black cats as a kid so I know I would've loved Adrien/Cat Noir. And although in the real timeline I was initially hesitant about Luka, he turned into one of my favorite characters so I probably would've liked him enough to make a love interest for him.

...Which then brings us to the question, if I chose the path of "Adrien falls for someone else" would I have decided to pair Marinette up with Luka, or still made another love interest for him? Probably.

I also just had a horrifying realization that if this show was on when I was 10 I would definitely have made kwamis based on Pokemon. All the jewels would just be Pokeball keychains and like if you had the Pikachu kwami you would have the power of Thunderbolt, the Squirtle kwami would give you the power to shoot water guns or something. I made Pokemon-themed Sailor Scouts, I know I would've made Pokemon-themed miraculousessesesesses.

Another art that I've been planning to do since a long time and I've made now because of fandom event. So this is for @adrinetteapril 2021, AU prompt from 1st April. I barely managed to finish it on the first day of April becaue I'm quite busy this week.

This is part of my Miraculous x Pokémon crossover in which I put ML characters into Pokémon World but in which superheroes and Kwamis exist (though they are based on Pokémon). Ledyba is Kwami of Creation here and Purrloin is Kwami of Destruction. Art of them is here.

It's been supposed to be done in more Pokémon-like art style, than my usual no lineart digital painting. I've decided to get some inspiration from Satoshi Yamato who is artist of Pokémon Special (Adventures) manga, because I prefer his style over Ken Sugimori's and I like the comic a lot (it's my favourite adaptation of the video games series). It's just inspired by his style, I didn't want to make exact copy of it, as I'm not good at imitating someone's style and I still wanted to keep some of me in this art. Besides I wanted to give to Marinette Sapphire-based eyes and Adrien's ones are inspired by Ruby's, since Ruby and Sapphire are my favourite manga characters as well as Ruby/Sapphire arc. Here's an example of an illustration of said characters.

Marinette and Adrien lives in Kalos, region inpired by France and their hometown is Lumiose City, city inpired by Paris. Also there's Prims Tower, Eifell Tower equivalent, in the background. They have Kalos starters, Water-type Froakie is Marinette's because it's blue and Adrien owns green Grass-type Chespin. Also Poké Balls they're holding are not random. Marinette owns pink Love Ball (character who is in need of the other's romantic love) and Adrien has green Friend Ball (character who treats friendship as one of the biggest treasures). I have some ideas for other Adrienette arts with more Pokémon than just starters and ladybug and cat based ones, so maybe I will make few more some day. ;)

so im hyperfixating on miraculous rn and i made my own miracle box based on japan cause of the oc i have with it, and one of the kwamis is based off a phoenix. and while looking up names i found that in japan they refer to the phoenix as hou-ou and this is a longwinded way of saying that i named my phoenix kwami Ho-Oh in reference to the pokemon.

MLDC Pokemon Au Characters: Champion Felix Team

(Note that this takes place in the Kalos region but all the pokemon from each gen 1-8 is here plus this is different class au where Mari is with Mendeliev from the beginning of the show and kwamis don’t exist but BURST power does)

Champion Felix Etienne Durand of the Kalos Region: A world famous actor, plus part time model and full time activist, despite being aloof and difficult to talk with, constantly shoving a hand upon cameras being in his face with a deadpan expression. However beneath his cold exterior lies a quite soft spot for trainers that show talent and is quite protective of those he considers to be “friends” including his own pokemon. Yep he has friends but also his region. He is very regal, prim and proper like most champions but is also surprisingly cunning, crafty and sneaky, willing to salt on anyone who dares get on his bad side. Free time you can find him in cafes, reading anything or practicing magic tricks. is nicknamed mister grumpy pants by Jagged and Ice King?prince due to his use of ice type moves and pokemon

Main partner is Gallade named Galahad , who he can Mega evolve but refuses to do so all the time, only when the time is right. He makes sure Felix isn’t too distant or rude or dismissive until the person deserves it and Felix is internally grateful for that even if it doesn’t look like it. Don’t worry, Galahad knows though psychic mind reading and their bond is so deep that Felix can command him through movements without speaking!! He is like a gentleman, very much into respect and chivalry but also very loyal to Felix

P Team is based off Diantha’s and fairytale/movie genres

Gallade: based off the white knight part of Felix, is actually quite protective of those he cares for even if he has trouble showing it, also all of his team is base off an movie genre and fairytale, Galahad being the knight and romantic lead, found him as a Ralts and protected him from a Druddigon, now has a best friend since Ralts can detect emotions and despite his icy glare and closed off attitude, senses loneliness as a result from his abusive, isolated childhood and ended up running away together, is his closest companion and based on the knight/romantic lead since Felix is always portrayed as the lead

Dragapult: Tristan,obviously, the dragon of the fairytale and has a personality similar to Plagg and the most similar in appearance quite lazy and mischievous, always pulling pranks with Morgana, Felix’s XL Gourgeist being besties with her, also in the horror genre with her, decided to join Felix whether he liked it or not, seeing as he couldn’t scare him so easily after Felix hear rumors of a ghost causing chaos and trouble in Route 14 and wanted to debunk it, plus he needs a puesdo-legendary like many champions and the quiet mysterious personality fits him, Felix secretly adores him and his mini children, a soft spot

Aurorus: Guinevere was with Launcelot when they were both discovered together as fossils and when revived, just kept each other company and whenever one was going to be taken, the other (mostly Launcelot) would throw a fit, attack fellow pokemon and scientists and basically destroy everything, Amaura would just freeze everything and make the room cold so Felix saw a bit of himself in them and took both of them, she is the only one who can calm Tyrantrum down despite a type disadvantage and Felix enjoys her personality and her being the queen plus dino movies

Tyrantrum: Launcelot is his name, he represents the king being a king like pokemon in the old ages and fits old fossil movies like Jurassic Park and Land Before Time plus those natural geographic documentaries, like with Guinevere was found together and refused to leave each other as an Amaura and Tyrunt since they only had each other so Felix took them since he made more of a mess and was difficult plus Felix was reminded of his friendship with Bridgette, Marinette’s cousin, may look and act tough and scary, he is but also is very touch starved, loves cuddles and pets from Felix

Gourgeist XL: Like Dragapult, Vortigen simply followed Felix around since he ignored his ghostly moans and proceed to prank and scare his teammates (earning Tristan’s respect) so he made a deal with him that if he could try and scare him as he’s hard to be afraid then he’ll leave them all alone, he failed but decided to stay by throwing a pokeball at Felix’s face unlike Tristan who simply caught himself and woke Felix by sitting sat on his chest as a Pumpkaboo, is best friends with Tristan over being unable to terrify their trainer and enjoying watching the gardens grow and helps out, he appreciates that

Frosmoth: A tiny snow that he found when traveling though Galar in an attempt to get along with Kalos-Galar diplomatic relationships and going a movie shoot, he ended up camping 🏕 ⛺️ with his pokemon and well making curry to feed them a tiny snow ends up with them wanting food and Felix, despite his cold exterior let’s it joins the meal and oops it decides to stay, Vivien is a shy bug but like Felix doesn’t like bad guys or people who refuse to leave her trainer alone and ends up getting friendship points with him to evolve much to his shock and now there are mysterious many Alolan and Galar pokemon in Kalos

Relationships: Gets along well with Penny Rolling, Sinnoh League Champion and Camilla Hombee, Unova Champion with their studious personalities and enjoy talking with each other about books/myths/lore and swapping stories, few who can take Felix’s distant, closed off personality and actually get him out of his shell/bubble and talk to, Felix even smiles a bit when around Penny and is secretly excited to see her at champion meetings,

Has a love-hate relationship with jagged since he traveled with him and penny, their personalities clash a lot with Felix’ chivalry gentleman like yet very much gives the cold shoulder, polite yet quiet, Jagged the total oppiste: loud, boisterous, gets into people’s faces, love to give each other crap and act terrible to one another but both are terrified of Penny’ wrath since she’s the only one to keep them in line, secretly both are jealous of each other

Wants to protect Marinette and her friends since he failed to protect her cousin and former accoquinâtes since he worked for Interpol as an agent but a mission failed resulted in them and their pokemon being killed, makes him have crushing guilt and trauma, masking of his emotions, is so determined to make sure Mari doesn’t have to go through that and is fond of her as a successor and trains her though is quite envious by the fact that Mari has a huge crush on Chandra

Ali respects him due to his Champion a social status and the fact he would sacrifice everything to protect his citizen and regions, Felix would give him advice on the pressure and knows of Ali’s feelings for Marinette, quietly teasing him much to his embarrassment but like Ali likes to help everyone out

with Aurore thinks he’s dreamy and cute like a tsundere but also is quite salty that Auroue prefers Chandra over him cause parasol goals , is quite overwhelmed but enjoys by Ondine’s cheerfulness/peppiness and is internally mortified that Jean acts like Jagged but likes his card tricks, listens to Zora cause though she young she has much smart advice

Does not get along with Andre due to corruption and him searching undercover due to employer complainats, Gabriel he can’t get along with since he calls Felix creepy things like he should remain young forever much to his disgust cause Felix wants to grow old, Nadja he hates nosy reporters and how she assumes Felix is in love Gallade and how Marinette was in love with her Greninja, shutted her down, Caline he hates that she keeps gulitripping Marinette int traveling with Chloe and releasing her “dangerous” pokemon like Greninja so he puts a stop to that with Mega Gallade on all of them

Gets along with Dimitrina Mendeliev and Anne-Jeanne Théoxanne du Bocquale cause professors (don’t know who’s Kalos and Anne might be Alola’s and Kalos professor) and Mendeliev tells him everything what’s going on like her pesky coworker refusing to take a hint in leaving her students alone, so like two grumpy parents who will risk their lives for their kids, plus tall gf and smol bf, he meshes well with Anne evn though her hyperactive, doesn’t look before she jumps and sometimes forgets to think things through, loves her happy-go-lucky nature, reminds me a lot of Bridgette where both also have their brave wise moments.

Respects all the other champions, being his fellow coworkers and help each other out though is very intimated and insecure with Darius due to his physique and height (Felix, slender and skinny 6ft, Darius 6′5 and very muscular) but mutual understanding his dragons and power, Marianne and Fu were retired but have everyone’s attention and huge respect since they were the first, oldest, champions where Marianne is now part of penny’s Elite four

Due to not many dude/guy champions, Felix is the closest with Penny, Camilla, sigh Jagged, Ali, Marianne, Fu, plus his successor Marinette and even Chandra, maybe even has a slowburn love with her later on

1. How many works do you have on AO3?

2. What’s your total AO3 word count?

1,122,771.

3. How many fandoms have you written for and what are they?

Ao3 says nine, but six of them are variations of Pokemon. xD I've written for Pokemon, Miraculous Ladybug, Fablehaven, Harry Potter, Calvin and Hobbes, and a few others on various platforms.

4. What are your top five fics by kudos?

1. The Investigation with 3876 kudos. 2. A Good Actor with 3070 kudos. 3. Chat Got Your Back with 2142 kudos. (I did not realize this one was this far up on the list.) 4. Shipping with 2099 kudos. 5. Cheaters with 1902 kudos.

5. Do you respond to comments, why or why not?

I do, but not as often as I would like to though.

6. What’s the fic you’ve written with the angstiest ending?

Probably my most recent one-shot, Blanc Lie, which is a darker fic focusing on if Chat Blanc had won.

7. What’s the fic you’ve written with the happiest ending?

Of my completed stories, I'll go with Are You Kidding Me?.

8. Do you write crossovers? If yes, what’s the craziest thing you’ve written?

I haven't for Miraculous, but I do have ideas for a Miraculous and Pokemon crossover one day. :)

9. Have you ever received hate on a fic?

I've gotten a handful of negative comments before, but I honestly don't pay them much attention, if someone doesn't like my story that's fine, because everyone has their own taste in stories.

One comment that always has annoyed me though was on a non-Miraculous fic, where the commenter said they didn't finish the whole fic, didn't like it, and then proceeded to explain why the story was wrong because canon had said otherwise.

Why this frustrated me was because if they had actually finished reading the story, they would have seen that the "missing" element of canon was actually included, and was one of the main aspects of the entire fic!

It was several years ago, but it's funny to look back on. xD

10. Do you write smut? If so what kind?

No.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Several times, actually, both were Pokemon stories and took place several years ago. My Amourshipping story "Memories" has been stolen twice, both times just a reposting on Wattpad. Fortunately the website took them down as soon as I reported it.

The other story that was stolen was one me and my friend had written together, a PMD fic called "Team Rival". Not only was it stolen, but the person who stole it continued writing it and even brought in another author who didn't know it was stolen. It was a longer and frustrating process to get them to take it down because they kept acting like they were in the right even though they had stolen my work.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated?

I've had a handful translated. :)

13. Have you ever co-written a fic?

Yes, but not with Miraculous. However I do have plans to collab on a Miraculous fic in the future. :)

14. What’s your all time favorite ship?

The Love Square! LadyNoir being the best corner, of course.

15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but don’t think you ever will?

All currently published ML WIPs of mine I plan on finishing. As for WIPs I've started but I haven't posted there are two that stand out:

Soulmate Seer: This was an AU where only certain people can see red strings of fate, Alya being one of them. This fic would have been from her POV, and I had the world fully developed and a basic plot line planned out, but I don't know if I'll ever finish or post it.

Aladdin AU: An AU based loosely off of Disney's Aladdin, with Marinette taking on Aladdin's role and Adrien's with Jasmine's role. I had a lot of the world planned out, including how the kwamis were tied in to everything, but I haven't had motivation to work on it for a long time.

16. What’s your writing strengths?

World building and character building. Backstory, lore, all the small details... it's just so much fun! I always find myself going way in depth when planning these kinds of things out, even if it's not central to the plot, and it's a lot of fun, and I'm usually very happy with what I come up with.

17. What’s your writing weaknesses?

Pacing, and by extension, flow. I have a lot of ideas but sometimes I find myself lingering too long on one scene, or trying to put a transition where it doesn't work, or having fics turn out way longer than I thought they would be (looking at you, Withered Wings), or having parts of the plot that are rushed when I look back at them.

18. What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in fic?

I like including other languages, especially when it makes the most sense for the character. Like in "Crimson and Noire" I have Master Fu's use Chinese for his transformation phrases and to activate his powers, because I imagine that's what he's been saying his entire life, and I don't think it would make sense for him to switch to French after 100+ years just to transform, especially when it isn't necessary for those around him to know what he's saying.

19. What was the first fandom you wrote for?

Pokemon! :D

20. What’s your favorite fic you’ve written?

How am I suppose to only chose one???????

Overall, probably Crimson and Noire, as I put a lot of time and effort into planning it, it's going to be my longest fic ever, and it includes a lot of elements I've always wanted to use in an ML fic.

Honorable mentions would be my Waiting series, United, and Withered Wings.

A Shy ‘Sparrow’: Chapter 2 - The First Amok

Author’s Note: It returns! At long last! I've sorted out what was making me not want to write, so I'm happy to report I'll be writing more than I have been (though that doesn't mean this is going to be updating as regularly as With Time though).

Chapter Summary: Marinette makes her first Amok.

“There have been three akumas! Three! And you haven’t even transformed! Peacocks are meant to be seen!” Duusu looks at the girl slumped back in her desk chair. Not a true peacock, but still! Where is her pep?! Has she no spirit?!

“I’m not a peacock, Duusu,” she speaks with resigned acceptance, continuing to work on her homework and not even bothering to look towards her stunning Kwami.

“A peahen then! You can still puff your feathers! I refuse to let you continue to hide like some treecreeper!-”

“A what?”

“Go out there and let Paris know that you’re here and you’re the best bird there is!”

“But I don’t know how to help. I’d just get in the way. Chat Noir will be fine alone.”

“But he could be fantastic! Any situation can be better if you add a beautiful star to it! If you want to help, then use your powers!”

“I don’t know…”

“Well I do! Just create an amok and use it on someone! Come on! Let’s go!” Duusu rushes toward the brooch, staring at Marinette expectantly, “Well?! Spread your feathers!”

Marinette bites her lip in uncertainty, hesitating before she speaks the phrase. She feels the magic wash over her, and she can’t help but smile softly. Then she remembers her task.

She doesn’t know how to do this!

But… it’s night. No one is out, there’s no one watching. She can go out there and practice and even if she messes up, she would have tried.

That’s all Duusu is asking of her anyways.

Alright. She can do this.

The peahen heroine races across the rooftops until she finds one that seems mostly hidden. She’ll be safe here.

Sitting against a wall, she looks at her hands pondering how she’s supposed to do this.

“Alright Marinette. It’s fine. You can do this.” she breathes softly to steady her nerves. Focusing, she closes her eyes and concentrates on… something. She isn’t sure quite what it is.

A soft white feather appears in her open palms. She inspects it in surprise.

She did it! She did it!

Sort of? Next she… what does she do?

Alright, um…

She holds the feather, closing her eyes and focusing on it. She feels something stir in her, and when she opens her eyes the feather is blue.

She puts it to her brooch, still not sure if she’s done it right. Once the feather comes in contact with the miraculous she feels it. The power.

What kind of power does she want to choose? How does she even choose? She doesn’t know what she’s doing.

She exhales softly and focuses once more on her goal. To fix the damage made by akumas. Heal the city.

A large crane appears before her. It seems to be waiting for her to say something, so she pats its head awkwardly, “Uh. Go do your thing I guess?”

It nods, raising its wings and taking flight, glittery feathers fall from it as it goes, and each thing the feathers touch glows softly before it is seemingly fixed - at least that’s what it looks like.

So focused on the sentimonster, she doesn’t hear the soft footfall of someone landing on the roof.

“Who are you?”

Normally Chat wouldn’t give up the element of surprise, but he doesn’t think this is an akuma. He’d seen this person during an attack, and they’re still here so they must be separate from that at the very least. Plagg had mentioned the possibility of a partner, but didn’t seem to think this person was them so Chat keeps his guard up.

The masked stranger wheels around in surprise, but doesn’t speak. They seem to begin shaking slightly, frozen in place.

Chat Noir raises his baton, ready to attack or defend based on their actions. They do neither, instead, once they recover from the shock, they turn and jump off the roof. They float to the next building and continue in this manner, running away.

He gives chase. He wants answers, and simply running won’t work. Where did that bird come from and is it a threat? Who are they and what do they want? Whose side are they on?

He is beginning to catch up when he hears a loud rattling call. The large bird from earlier is fast approaching him, feathers falling. Sneezing, he takes a moment to recover. The bird seems satisfied with its attack and returns to whatever it had been doing.

Oh well, it could have been worse. Now he has to get back to-

The person in brown is gone.

“Well! As much as I want to reiterate that peacocks do not run, I will instead be my gracious self and congratulate yourself on your first amok! I’m so proud! A crane, so fitting-!” Duusu flutters all over the room, chattering away. “What?” Marinette is still calming down from the adrenaline of being chased.

“-Not as prestigious as us peafowls, but a bird symbolizing healing nonetheless and seeing as that was your goal - oh and I’m so excited! You’re a creative one- it’s the bug in you - so your sentimonsters will be fantastic! Oh this is so fun! I should borrow Tikki’s kids more often! Yay!”

Marinette is content to listen to the rambling, but the mention of a name piques her curiosity, “Tikki? Who’s that?”

“She’s the Ladybug Kwami. You’re definitely one of hers, but seeing as she’s not here, I have so graciously taken you in - under my wing you could say - and so now you will be the most glamorous bug to ever exist because with me at your side how could you not be!”

“I’m still not sure if I should be doing this,” the designer frowns, “Chat Noir didn’t seem too happy to see me.”

“You’re right! That was very rude of him! Peacocks should be respected and revered, not chased! I should really talk to Plagg!”

Marinette sighs, staring into her lap.

Duusu settles onto her open palms, smiling encouragingly up at the girl, “Hey, it’s okay. Not all of my peachicks had an easy start. Sometimes the world isn’t ready for your fabulousness. If you aren’t comfortable being out in the open, you can still help from the sidelines,” it’s not what she prefers, but she needs to be gentle with this one.

“Are you sure?”

“I am positive!” Duusu chirps, “Next attack, try making an amok to help during the attack. You can take your time with this!”

“Alright,” Marinette relents, “Alright, I’ll try.”

Marinette arrives at school at a pretty reasonable time. She’d been woken up a little early by her amok. Duusu had helped her take care of it - having it out 24/7 would drain on her, so they agreed she’d bring it around only after attacks.

“Hey, girl! Did you see the news?” Alya runs up to her, excited. She’s got that glint in her eye that shows up whenever she has information on Chat Noir, or just the whole Hawkmoth mess in general.

“What news?” Had Hawkmoth done something?

“Someone got footage of this giant bird fixing the city! No one knows where it came from, but people are theorizing that Chat Noir finally got a partner!” Alya is this close to squealing. Another hero!

“What’s this about Chat Noir getting a partner?” Adrien asks as he and Nino join the girls.

“Yeah, that dude really deserves some help.”

“A giant bird fixed the city last night! All the damage from all the attacks!” Alya pulls up a video, spinning her phone around so they can see.

“Huh,” Adrien says, “What do you think it means?”

“Clearly it means Chat got the partner he deserves! He- OH MY GOSH, WAIT!” Something occurs to Alya, and she fiddles with her phone, “At an akuma attack a while ago, I saw someone else watching the attack, and, and - get this - they were bird themed! These have to be connected!”

She shows them a shaky image of a brown figure on a rooftop some distance away. It isn’t the best quality, but they can all see some resemblance to a bird. Marinette winces, she hadn’t planned on Alya taking a picture of her.

“Dude! That makes sense!” Nino agrees.

“I don’t know,” Adrien is hesitant, “I’d like for Chat Noir to have a partner as much as the next guy, but…”

“...we don’t know anything about her. She could have no idea what she’s doing - that could put Paris at risk,” Marinette finishes.

“Why do ya’ think they’re a ‘she’?” Nino questions.

Marinette stiffens, “Uh, well, I, um- I just- I don’t really know! I just, uh, used the first pronouns I thought of? There’s no way to tell! Obviously!”

Alya seems to accept that, as does Nino. Adrien gives her an odd look, but seems more amused by her stammering than anything.

Alya puts an arm around her shoulder, “Well, I guess we can only theorize for now! I’m sure we’ll find out eventually.”

“Mhm.”

Later that day, in the middle of sketching out a new design, Marinette’s phone dings with an akuma alert. Duusu notices and looks at her excitedly.

Marinette sighs, “Okay. Okay. Spread my feathers.”

The peahen heroine stands in her room, taking a moment to steady herself before she goes to the roof.

She heads in the direction of the attack, doing her best to stay out of sight. When she arrives, she sees Chat Noir already in a battle against… a Persian?

She pulls up the news on her fan, because she honestly doesn’t know what this one’s deal is.

Before she can, the big cat growls, “That wanna-be evolution will never replace Persian! Perrserker is a disgusting abomination!”

“Look, I’m as upset as you are, but-” Chat Noir tries to settle the victim, to no avail. A giant paw swipes at him, and he dodges.

“Okay. So, um. Help Chat Noir, uhhh how do I do that?” The heroine presses her hands to her face, trying to think of how an amok could help out here.

Chat Noir wasn’t expecting to deal with a giant pokemon today.

Then again, everyday is a dice toss with Hawkmoth around. Just another normal day in Paris.

That said, he’d been working under the assumption that he’d only have to deal with one giant pokemon. So when the pokemon that led to this akumatization in the first place (Perrserker, he likes the pun, but purr-furs the classics), showed up he wasn’t sure what to think. Persian immediately notices, growling turning to it.

“You! You little-!” Persian immediately forgets about the hero, turning to the other pokemon.

Chat shakes off his surprise, immediately going to the akumatized object - a red ribbon around the cat’s neck. Cataclysming the akuma, he turns to the second pokemon.

It waves at him, disappearing. He frowns, running to where it had been standing.

All that’s there is a small white feather, and a pebble.
