So.

Me and sis started rewatching Sun & Moon. I probably won't be making coherent posts on it because holy heck this is 9th time rewatching from the start jhsajkshf, there's really nothing else to add. Just that... the moment Alola squad said "Alola Surprise" me and sis collapsed for a moment because we just remembered the finale ;_____;

GOD I love Alola so much. Also HOLY HECK do I miss the art style, the animation is so fricking smooth too holy heck-

Also first time rewatching Some-Stuffs subs from the very beginning, since during earlier watches they weren't available anywhere really. Now they are, so, I get to see preview dialogues for eps I haven't seen before. And all pokeproblem after-scenes. Excited <333

been really into pokemon go lately (which is hilarious bc i'm stuck in the middle of nowhere) and because of my rank in the pogo league i can ocassionally get raid boss pokemon as rewards for winning a certain amount of battles

which is really cool and fun except i have so many fucking palkias and genesects and no one nearby to trade them with. first world pokeproblems

A gentle push for pokemon dub exclusive watchers to give the sub a shot

hey its your friendly neighbourhood pokemon fan here! If you wanna watch pokemon (im mainly talking about sun and moon + journeys), i recommend watching it in japanese if that works for you! Obviously subs dont work for everyone, if you can't find subs in ur langauges or you can't read and watch something at the same time, oc!! this isn't meant to sh-t on fans who can't do subs or fans who exclusively watch dubs!

but here's 3 fun reasons why i enjoy the sub over the dub!

1: it's faster =D! for things currently coming out, there's a new episode weekly, which rn is journeys!! it takes a while for things to be dubbed, so you can see more!

2: missing content! espicallyyyy in sun and moon! sun and moon has Bonus Scenes and the "pokeproblem" (pokemondai in japanese)! bonus scenes are exactly how they sound and pokeproblem is a little question presented by a character at the beginning (such as 'what pokemon evolves today, who wins this match, what is the traedgy that befalls me today) and answered at the end of the episode! its funnn! This also includes Next Episode Previews, which get you excited for the upcoming episode =D!! Journeys doesn't have bonus scenes, but eariler seasons had similar things to pokeproblem and such!

3: the music! so this ones a matter of taste in some respects. I highly perfer the japanese openins cause thats my taste in music and i wanna keep this some what subjective so here's some real facts! japanese openings are longer, and they have devoted ending songs in jp, which they no longer do in english (its just instrumental of the op). Howeverrr and this is a bit of a personal gripe: the dub background ost is flawed in its usage and timing. scenes that were meant to be emotional in jp become comedic with the music choice, or vice versa.

in other little notes! there are bits of censorship in the dub, again thats plain fact. somethings make sense to remove or change or tone down, i do not agree with everyone done in the original ver of pokemon and i can understand some of the changes made. However: not everything is censored with like... great reasons (cough cough wine glasses at a wedding cough cough cough cough rubber wrecking ball) so if that matters to you, its good to know!

all in all, whatever version of pokemon you prefer is the best one for you to watch! I know that there's some pokemon fans who only watch dub since thats what they grew up with, which makes a lot of sense! But i think that some more ppl might enjoy the sub if they gave it a shot! personally i watch both the sub and the dub!

this has been my little spiel, I hope everyone is able to enjoy pokemon as much as possible!!
