Okay so I’ve returned into the pits of hell(the marauders fandom) and I’ve realised how dirty Peter pettigrew character gets fucked over by almost everyone because I love this character and I don’t think if someone is pet of such a intrinsically deep friendship like the marauders that was akin to family for all the characters that they should’ve been able to fucking just rat them out like he did I could never do that to my friends and maybe it’s because I probably will never have to make that choice I can say that but I feel like there was something deeper at play like he was a spy but it went too far and Voldemort just straight up abandoned him and he was terrified and slowly died he could’ve been controlled or something but I don’t get why we can forgive bellatrix and regulus fucking barty and other characters wich were realistically wizard nazis but not Peter no he’s unredeemable and people also like to cut him out and replace him with fucking Lilly or regulus and it’s just why like he’s such a morally rounded character someone most people can relate to yet he gets attacked from every side also I hate the fucking homophobic sexist shit like if every other character is fine with it why isn’t he it’s a fictional magic world I really cannot see the issue but we should start with please making Peter more popular just as a character because I can’t be the only on hill who fails to see the character betraying his friends like that unless it was a mercy killing he believed something worst than death was left for his friends so he wanted to kill them out of mercy or something because that makes a lot more sense than out of self preservation he was put into fucking gryffindor or slytherij they are both houses that care for their own and I can’t see him being offered a place is gryffindor if he was such a coward .
Edit : this was supposed to be more of a I came to my senses like I get he killed the potters but I won’t look over the blatant fucking hate he gets I think bizzarestars did his character best and also let’s not be making a fictional world a shitty. Place when there is no need for it like yes friends betray each other and we have to accept that but ignoring it probably is stupid I think it fucks me over when I don’t understand his reasoning so please drop why you think he did it like in the comments if you have any ideas

Do we need political parties? Being Independent in America
Do you know which political party the first President of the United States belonged to?
It’s a trick question.
Not every American President was affiliated with a political party- some were unaffiliated.
George Washington was not a Democrat, nor was he Republican- he was Independent.
What is that? What does it mean when a person is Independent, politically speaking? Well, when a person isn’t affiliated with any political party, they are called unaffiliated, non-partisan, or Independent.
Washington was the first Independent President of the United States of America, and he remains the only one elected as an Independent. Think about it- how many Independents have we had in the White House since his second term ended in 1797?
George Washington was against political parties altogether. Did you know that?
Did you know that the first President actually spoke out against political parties? That he’s still the only U.S. President to never be formally affiliated with any political party throughout his entire career? Sure, the Federalists coopted his image and his ideas for their own purposes, but that was done without his permission or endorsement. Washington never joined the Federalist Party- he was never a Federalist.
If he was alive today, he would tell us to renounce both the Democrat and Republican parties. For him, there was no red vs blue after the American Revolution- there was only the newfound unity between formerly rivaling states.
Donald Trump represents everything Washington feared and warned us about in his Farewell Address- he explained how someone like Trump can use a political party like the Republican Party (GOP) to gain power for himself and for his family and friends. This is despotism and it must be avoided at all costs, warned the first President.
To understand how George Washington felt about political parties and how they contribute to division between Americans, read the following excerpt from Wikipedia:
“Washington continues to advance his idea of the dangers of sectionalism and expands his warning to include the dangers of political parties to the country as a whole. These warnings are given in the context of the recent rise of two opposing parties within the government—the Democratic-Republican Party led by Jefferson, and Hamilton's Federalist Party. Washington had striven to remain neutral during a conflict between Britain and France brought about by the French Revolution, while the Democratic-Republicans had made efforts to align with France, and the Federalists had made efforts to ally with Great Britain.
Washington recognizes that it is natural for people to organize and operate within groups such as political parties, but he also argues that every government has recognized political parties as an enemy and has sought to repress them because of their tendency to seek more power than other groups and to take revenge on political opponents.[4] He feels that disagreements between political parties weakened the government.
Moreover, he makes the case that "the alternate domination" of one party over another and coinciding efforts to exact revenge upon their opponents have led to horrible atrocities, and "is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism." From Washington's perspective and judgment, political parties eventually and "gradually incline the minds of men to seek security… in the absolute power of an individual",[1] leading to despotism.
He acknowledges the fact that parties are sometimes beneficial in promoting liberty in monarchies, but he argues that political parties must be restrained in a popularly elected government because of their tendency to distract the government from their duties, create unfounded jealousies among groups, raise false alarms among the people, promote riots and insurrection, and provide foreign nations and interests access to the government where they can impose their will upon the country.”
You see? George Washington never wanted us to follow political parties. He wanted all Americans to be Independent.
When he wrote about how a political party can make us want to blindly follow one individual? He was warning us about men like Donald Trump.
When he mentioned that political parties had a tendency to provide foreign nations with access to the government? He was warning us about men like Putin.
Do the Democrats and Republicans serving in the US congress right now know how he felt about parties? They should, since they listen to his Farewell Address every year in which he denounces them in great detail.
Reading and understanding the Farewell Address can be difficult since Washington wrote it in the 18th century, so feel free to watch this modern abridged translation on Youtube- https://youtu.be/4mWD3T83hE0
It’s essentially a warning against the dangers of political parties. They know this, yet Democrats and Republicans in Washington D.C. keep trying to make Americans feel like we have to choose parties anyway.
We don’t have to choose between two political parties- we don’t have to choose parties who care more about holding onto power than they do about public service.
We can be Independent.

Are the Justices Still Party Players
All Article III federal judgeships start at the same place — with a presidential nomination. This procedure played a large role in the first several decades of statistical studies of judicial behavior, where researchers found that the party of appointing president was a strong predictor of judicial votes.  While not looked at as frequently anymore, the party of appointing president still yields…

Things I would do if I were president
Increase billionaire taxes
Decrease military spending
Begin taxing churches 1% if they earned $500,000 dollars, and add .5% for every extra $500,000 they earn and cap it at %30
Increase the NASA budget
Increase billionaire taxes again because why not
Encourage the increase of political parties (fuck a bipartisan system)
Get someone to make another gay porno in the congress building
Do a twitch stream with Barack Obama
Form an agreement with every country on earth so we collectively tax offshore accounts
Do 0 work, get experts to do everything
Be a much more public president, if people want something from me, I would not refuse
Manually lower the cost of living, is it unconstitutional for the government to control the economy? Maybe, but we forfeited that right when it became impossible to be a home owner.
Fuck around
Find out
I wouldnt run for president for a second term, but I would put a sock puppet on my left hand and have that run for president

Problems with democracy.
When I was growing up, I was always under the impression that democracy was the best way to govern a country. It was always portrayed very strongly by using phrases like government of the people, by the people, and for the people. Dictatorship or communist way of ruling a country is very oppressive. However, as I have grown up and read/experienced different things I have started seeing some flaws in democracy and I doubt if it is the best way to govern a country. Here, I want to put across certain thoughts that I have regarding the same.
I am going to mostly speak about democracy in an Indian context since that is what I am most aware of.
Firstly, in a developing country like India, not everyone is capable of thinking long-term. They are highly influenced by short-term results and decisions. If we are going to allow 1.4 billion people to have an opinion where the collective intellectual is low (?), it is going to create chaos and directionlessness.
When you are trying to give a ticket to a candidate in a particular locality, the most important parameter that you have to consider is the religion of the candidate vs that of the majority of people in the locality. How much influence does that person have in the locality? Unfortunately, it is not based on the work he/she has done in that area or their vision of the locality they are serving. The party needs to select candidates from specific communities if they have the majority in that area irrespective of their skillset because that is how people vote. So if there is a Muslim candidate in a Hindu majority locality who is very well educated, with a clear vision, and is not corrupt. The chances of that person getting a ticket are very low because people still vote based on religion. The opposite also is true about a Hindu candidate in the Muslim majority. In the long-term whose loss is that? When a candidate can take you from 1-10 in 3 years, you settle with a candidate who'll only take you from 1-3 in 3 years. In the worst case, some candidates also take you in negative but people still vote for the candidate based on their beliefs.
They also need to lure people to vote for them by introducing freebie schemes which are a disaster for the nation. The majority of people find free buses and electricity as beneficial. Again, they don't understand that nothing is free in this world. Someone somewhere is paying for that stuff. States are going more into debt by announcing such free schemes. The political parties do not worry about finance nor do they worry about the state or country for that matter. If my announcing these schemes gets me elected for the next 5 years let me do it, the financial burden would be taken care of by the next person and you know what the worst part of this is? Other states seeing this start demanding the same thing which takes more states into debt making the country poorer. Again the short-term benefit of free busses introduces the long-term impact of higher taxes. However, people seem to be ok with it. I am not saying that there should not be anything free in the country. Definitely, some people are extremely poor and they deserve this free scheme but it should be a very small percentage. Making bus travel for all the women or all the elderly is not a wise move in my opinion.
People with criminal histories are given tickets because they always get elected. Political parties need seats and they are ok to accept anyone in their party as long as they win the elections. Political parties say that only these people get elected so we need to give them the seat whereas people say that we have only such people on our list so we don't have any other option to vote. Both of them point fingers at each other.
Personally, as a solution, I have started tilting away from democracy at least in the initial period. Until a country reaches some x% of individuals who are educated and y% of GDP per capita income till that time the reigns of a country should be given to one person who we collectively believe in as our leader and trust who has good intentions for the country. Give them a free hand to do whatever they want to without the fear of losing their chair. Lots of decisions, policymakers are feared to take because it is bad in the short term for the people but in the long term, they will yield good results. Because of a lack of education, a lot of people can only look at the short-term results so such decisions can be taken now since you have a free hand. Give that person 15 years and see what he can do.
After you achieve the key milestones of x% of education and y% of per capita GDP we switch back to democracy mode hoping that the mentality of most people is now changed and they have country country-first approach in mind rather than me first or my caste first or my religion first.
The major part has to be played by common people. In a democracy, political parties are going to become what we want them to become. All the parties have some corrupt people, some criminals, etc. If we really don't have a candidate in our constituency that we can support can we choose the None of the above (NOTA) option. It has been built for this purpose. There are less than 1% of people who vote for this option but I think we should increase this percentage so that these parties start taking it seriously and then talk with people asking them why they chose this option.
Moreover, there should be a feeling of ownership. When I see my house is dirty, the first thing I am going to do is start cleaning it before pointing fingers at others that they did it and they should clean it. It is not my responsibility to clean the house.
