Made a bunch of Pollicle/Dogs designs based on this post by @theimpossiblescheme and took the characters from Old Toffer's Book of Consequential Dogs by Christopher Reid!

I'm not quite done with all of them yet, some of them might need another design revamp (Molly, Lepold, Rosie) and others still need designs! I'll come back to this post when I have the poems compiled somewhere for people to read + finished them all

Ruby the Pollicle Cat:

Three words: Fierce, Loyal, Determined.

A little ways from the Jellicle Junkyard, there is another junkyard, only this one hold Pollicles. Most of the Pollicles are owned by the junkyard master, but a fair bit of them are just strays that took sanctuary among the garbage.

Ruby’s Mother had just had a litter of puppies, and she happened to find a little kitten who’d been thrown away, she then raised Ruby as her own and as if she was a dog.

Ruby is a tortoiseshell American Curl cat, she solely believes that she should have been born an actual dog. She knows very well thats she’s a cat, but she ignores it in favor of proving herself over and over again as a dog. She’s very fierce and protective of her junkyard, and can easily handle herself among her pack.

She has been somewhat adopted by Waltze (another of my ocs), alongside a bunch of other dogs her age.

What role Artemis would play if she was in "Pekes and Pollicles" ?

(For future reference, Artemis uses they/them pronouns!)

I've actually thought about this a lot!

When Artemis was younger and Gus played the Rumpus Cat, Artemis and my other OC Wyndham played the lead Peke and Pollicle. They actually did really well and never messed up, unlike some other cats.

When they got older and Munk started doing Pekes, Artemis took a more backstage role. They are the one who helps whoever plays the Rumpus Cat (Usually Alonzo) into the costume.

Fifi is a LOUD poodle that barks at everything. She’ll fuck you up don’t even TRY her. She chases cars all the time, but she has yet to catch one.

Growlf is super chill and likes to stop and smell everything while he’s on a walk. He’s pretty content to idly sit around and chew on things.

4. If they have a human home, what is their home life like? If they are on the streets, what is life like for them?

Home life is great! Zoe doesn't mind if he makes a mess in the apartment and feeds him from her plate, and lets him hang out on the tops of her doors, and lets him sleep in her bed when there are thunderstorms. He doesn't like when she is gone for long stretches of time because she can't take him with her, and he has to be watched by Mrs. Zellers down the hall who smells weird and has an old grumpy white cat named Ficklebricke who won't even share her cat bed, the nerve.

6. Who are their best friends? You can include characters from the show or tag other people’s OC’s. How popular are they?

James and Jonathan are his best friends, and the brothers and he get into trouble literally all the time. He thinks Jonathan is the smartest cat ever because he knows so many things (never mind that they are usually wrong), and James and he will chase tennis balls that they take turns rolling down hills. He also really likes Caramel.

He's about as popular as most of the kittens are i.e. they don't really measure based on that stuff. The kittens are often acquaintances at the very least with one another and will play with everyone, but also will not seek each other out if they're not high up on their friends list.

His pets are a Lit. Professor and his wife who live in the wealthier area of town and he (and their two purebred pollicles - who he just calls A and B) are treated like royalty because they don't have any small humans. It is kinda boring, though, wandering around that big house in the daytime. He likes it best when Missus is home, or when Mister takes him to class with him as a "boostermorale".

6. Who are their best friends? You can include characters from the show or tag other people’s OC’s. How popular are they?

He's very good friends with @theimpossiblescheme's Hieronymus, and they take tea several times a week, will talk with Victor from time to time when he comes to the Junkyard, and took an immediate shine to the head-in-the-clouds Olivia who doesn't pay him all that much mind, but he likes her regardless.

Guildenstern isn't a super popular cat - he talks alot and has the tendency to rub cats the wrong way with what he says. He doesn't mind, though - he's not looking to be liked or popular.

What are your OCs doing during the ball? Are there specific things they do that is not already written into the show?

Artemis really lets loose during the Ball! They are a wonderful dancer, so if they existed in the show, they would be involved in most of the major dancing moments.

They definitely would be apart of the Beetles' Tattoo during the Gumbie tap dance (Note to self, someday get art of Artemis dressed in one of the beetle costumes because they would look so adorable in it).

Of course, they freak out and fan girl all during Tugger's number. But they join in on the adult cats leading away the younger kittens and hissing when Grizabella makes her appearance.

During the Jellicle Ball, they usually join in on the Queens dance parts. Their main dance partner during the Ball/mating dance is another OC, Lorenzo. This is their favorite part of the entire night honestly, like I said they really let go during the Ball and love every minute they get to spend dancing with the tribe.

One thing that is Artemis' main job during the Ball is assisting whoever is playing the Rumpus Cat into the costume during Pekes and the Pollicles. It's typically Alonzo, but they also assist Gus the year he does it.

During slower parts of the Ball, they are usually off in the back, cuddling up with Lorenzo or socializing with my other OC Wyndham.

They do not witness most of the Macavity fight. When Macavity shows up, Lorenzo (a former Mac hench cat) bodily grabs them and runs from the clearing.

But from there, they spend most of the show Ball like most of the canon cats do- they come back out into the clearing for Mr. Mistoffelees and have a blast during it, especially once Deut comes back. And they run up to touch Griz once she is accepted back.

Once the Ball wraps up, they write down everything of importance that occurred while it is still fresh in their mind. And like how I imagine all the cats after the Ball ends, are absolutely exhausted and crash in their den as the sun comes up.
