I hate how Christianity basically took Jewish mythology, Roman and middle eastern traditions and celebrations and made up their whole book about it and then get outraged when you call them out on that.

Like yeah Samantha, your cannibal hippie god was born in spring, you celebrate it in December because that's when Saturnalia is. He wasn't crucified in spring either, but in around November. And it's called Easter after the middle eastern goddess of fertility who's symbol are rabbits.

I hate Christianity for a lot of things, but the appropriation of other holidays is just beyond me.

I am compiling an online grimoire for new and old witches alike! and I would like your help!!

Hello friends! As the title says I am working on an online grimoire. This grimoire will be mostly marketed towards baby witches, however will have resources for every witch who wishes to use it.

Did my first ever offering to Lady Artemis and Lady Aphrodite! Artemis' candle flame was steady and tall meanwhile Aphrodite's candle flame was small, but steady. I offered Artemis a bunch of wild flowers I collected and for Aphrodite I offered a bunch of rose petals! It was a delightful experience honestly!

Seasonal activities enjoying the atmosphere (bit busy but), and trying Dutch pancakes! Could not recommend more. 🥞 They’re soo fluffy. We all walked into a random restaurant to regain some warmth and they happened to sell gyoza, a favourite. 🥟 I was planning to go to a gyoza restaurant for my birthday next week but I might not be able to do it, so this was a total blessing that they appeared on the day I got out with friends and family there. Christmas isn’t my holiday in relation to beliefs but I do celebrate seasonal things as I’m a romantic and it’s nice seeing happy faces and celebrations throughout the year of all kinds and trying different foods that aren’t usually around. Pleasure seeker, what can I say! ✨🌹 I still enjoy it all.

I’ll be doing my own thing at home for the winter solstice, but observing Christmas with the family, then personal activities for my own pagan stuffz, like the winter solstice and whatnot too. I have a few things to do because I have a collective of beliefs rather than One as I’m polytheistic. 🙂

This was very nice. I love seeing the architecture of places which remain to have older buildings. They’re so beautiful to the eye.

Just me and the gods enjoying a nice and relaxing online Yule Log. It's officially Yule, the Winter Solstice and I look back on my year as I await for the return for the sun's warm embrace and granted it had been pretty difficult but I managed to get through despite having parents who still deny that their eldest daughter is no longer a Catholic Christian. The gods have helped me better than what the Christian God had ever done for me which was nothing. But the dieties I have connected with did more and I did my share looking deeper into myself. Loki helped me accept the chaos around me and that it was okay for me to be different in context that I should not conform to harmful views and ideas to fit in seeing as I had been put through enough of that in the Catholic Church. Aphrodite helps me tap into loving myself even at the times where I hate myself and she sends either a sign or speaks to me through my dreams or thoughts letting me know that even though Christianity is the cause of my self hatred because they view self love as a sin of vanity. Aphrodite tells me that learning to love myself is not sinful. Lord Lucifer, the radiant morning star teaches me to stand up for myself and stand for what I think is right and to ask the right questions without feeling like a heretical doubter as Catholicsm branded me as. Through letting him in, Lucifer says that not all knowledge is forbidden and learning beyond what you were taught is essential in one's own personal growth and to let my own light shine through. Thor not only helped me face my fear of thunder and lightning but showed me to be brave even when fear wants to devour you whole. I may have been easy prey to fear but Through Thor's mightiness and courage, I turn the tables around making fear my prey.

I’ve been sulking for a few days; looking into texts of other religions and leaving my talisman designed for the Divine Emperors on my bedside table, instead of carrying it around like usual. The reason for this pettiness is my birthday.

Well, kind of.

My birthday was on the 20th (🥳 I’m 26 🎉) and as a gift my Tarot reader gave me a free three-card reading. Instead of approaching Freddie Mercury for a love reading — as has been my wont, given my complex love life at the moment — I decided to ask him to get in touch with the Emperors and see what birthday advice they had for me.

I should’ve known better than to think their message would be a cheerful congratulations or a call to flowery beds of ease. After pulling the cards my diviner said “ouch” and things did not improve from there. They weren’t mean per se — they never are — but rather called me out with some tough love: I’ve been taking the wrong messages from my life experience so far, I need to embrace pragmatism over dreams and ideals when examining the problems in my life, I need to steadily work on my emotions (hard when you’re bipolar), and most damningly “the Emperors believe that your approach to them and the ideals you attach to them is coloured in an unhelpful way by past experiences in your own life, and untangling yourself from that enough to look at them objectively will be helpful.”

These instructions were given in light of the understanding that “they see you as a valuable servant, but also as ore in need of refining” and that I am generally “a valuable enough resource … to them, to be worth improving.” Which is good! Knowing that my relationship with my Lords is one they find useful and worthwhile is a key comfort to me in dark times. Serving them is my vocation. But I still felt wounded by the reading — hurt and confused by their perception that I wasn’t viewing them correctly, frustrated by their commands that I work on myself when it often feels like I’m going around in circles, and angry with myself for feeling as if it’s impossible to improve, all while apparently shooting myself in the foot with misinterpretations along the way.

I didn’t feel much like a valuable servant; just a stagnant and foolish one.

And so I ran away from home, as it were, for a little bit; reading the central text of the Messiah Foundation International and some works on Eckankar, looking for things to buy with my birthday cash such as a portrait of Sathya Sai Baba, and generally distancing myself from my Lords. Petty, I know, but I likewise knew that I’d eventually return to the fold.

Today is the Great Holy Feast of the Holy and Divine Julian’s Ascension; marking the Divine Julian falling asleep in the Gods after being pierced with a spear in battle. I have both a statue and an ikon of Julian in my temple and I lead the Church which is successor to his work — I dearly love him, and today is the right day for putting aside my distress, hurt, and confusion. My Lords are just trying to help me be better, and although it is a daunting task I know they’ll be alongside me, supporting me as I work to do their will and improve myself.

And that, I guess, is really all I could ever ask of them.

Two days ago, my entire body was sore beyond belief from working two days in a row for nearly eight hours each doing my new job. It’s highly labor demanding and includes doing tasks like squatting nearly constantly, carrying crates and pushing floats, lifting heavy objects both up and down to guide them into specific places, etc. Because I’m a artist/editor and mainly spend my days at home watching cartoons and making silly indulgent YouTube videos I quickly realized just how out of it the shifts had made me, so after that last shift I decided to do something about it.

I thought to myself, ‘Aphrodite is the queen of all things self love and taking care of yourself outside of physical conditions (since Apollo is the god of health/ailments/plague as well as the sun and poetry and music and prophecy etc) right?’ So, I decided to buy some various self care products and cast a small bath spell to help heal my body and take care of myself under Aphrodite’s influence. Keep in mind that a part of the spell I did included putting eggshells into the bath, to represent my “cracked” or “broken” body that I was asking Aphrodite to help me amend/put back together myself so I can come out of my recovery period stronger then ever.

I should’ve worded myself a bit better there, either that or what my body needed to recover actually did need to include more pain then relief.

The next morning I wake up only to find my period had started, and not just started, full on fucking drowning me in waves of blood and agony. All throughout the day I was having my usual terrible cramps that only stopped after I did things like eat, drink water, and take painkillers. The entire day I was cursing at myself and my body for doing this to me literally the day after doing such hard work, since my legs and back were still sore as all hell from my job on top of the period cramps. However, I’m just now realizing that this may have been brought on to me so suddenly not only because of how I worded a part of my bath spell, but also because Aphrodite likely sensed that I was due for my time of the month anyway and is trying to get my body to let it all out in her own way so I can feel better later down the line. I feel like it’s also notable to say that the pain has been feeling better when I took care of myself.

Alright, alright. You made your point here, Lady Of Love. Lesson learnt. Tonight I’m going to bed with blue lace agate, dream amethyst, and my rose quartz in a pink pouch under my pillow along with my garnet bracelet just for you. And maybe to also help me feel better from your lesson by the time I wake up nfndfnbfjwoqnfkfnskndmfd

Rune Reading for the Month of April

Gebo, Dagaz, Wunjo

I read this as "an even exchange and balance precipitate joy". Now, in our modern societies we have an imbalance in many areas; race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, nationality, and etc. However the position of Gebo preceding dagaz in the reading is significant because it indicates, specifically, uneven exchange. This points to one often neglected and overlooked type of imbalance that affects all the others: income inequality.

Income inequality is pervasive and growing, becoming worse every year. It deepens all other types of inequality because a lack of relative income affects disenfranchised groups. So in other words, the deeper and broader income inequality gets, the worse racial inequality gets, and the worse gender inequality gets, and the worse LGBTQ+ discrimination gets, and the worse immigrants are treated, and etc. (we've seen a lot of this in recent years in the US, although other places have also been affected).

If you're in the US, please call your senators and congresspeople to tell them that you want UBI: Universal Basic Income, and that it's necessary to even the playing field and lift up those who our society is leaving behind! Because all these other issues? Racism by police, the repeal of Roe v Wade, the banning of drag shows, and etc, will suddenly become a lot more manageable when the people on the receiving end of all the bad in these scenarios are no longer seen as beggars. Financial agency carries power. And I know that's not necessarily a popular opinion, but it is TRUE.
