So how does spartan Pyrrha feel about medusa Cinder?
Pyrrha watched Cinder carefully as she went through her day trying to put the statues of her victims back together. It was unlike anything she had seen, though, finding out about her being a huntress of Artemis before becoming a monster wasnt exactly what she had expected of her either. Monsters were supposed to be their own breed of creature, created by the old magics that still washed over the lands, not humans punished by the gods. And yet, here she was staring at proof that some monsters were created by the gods out of jealousy.
“Can you do more than watch me all day?” Cinder asked as she finished piecing together another statue, sealing the cracks with a small incantation she learned years ago. “Not that I mind the staring, but I’m sure you’d prefer doing something that isnt just watching me work.”
“I can help-”
“I was the one who turned them to stone, its my job to keep them safe until there’s a way to bring them back. That includes putting them back together when they break.”
Pyrrha sighed and walked over to the piles of stone that Cinder had made, each piece organized into a separate pile at each base the statues had been sitting on. Then, she walked around the statue that had been fixed, surprised that the pose almost looked like she wanted to embrace Cinder rather than cower like the rest of the statues. “Who was she?”
Cinder pulled her hand away from the statue and slipped her blindfold over her eyes. “She’s the reason I was expelled from the huntresses to begin with. A mistake that I’d never change no matter how many times I could be offered to. And, she’s the reason I became a gorgon.”
“I’m not sure I understand. She’s a human, right?”
“She is.” Cinder sat down and slipped the blindfold off her eyes for a brief moment to stare at the statue with her own eyes. “And like me, she was a huntress. My… rival for a lack of a better term. No matter what weapon she was given, she would always get Artemis’ favor. The best of us, a thorn in my side, always getting in my way. And yet, I couldnt help but fall in love with her.”
Pyrrha looked over at Cinder and watched how the light seemed to glisten off her amber eyes before Cinder pulled the blindfold over her eyes again. She looked back at the statue and sat down next to Cinder. “What was her name?”
“Ruby. After a brutal hunt, we spent some time alone, sparring just like all huntresses do. As each match went on, I started to get more and more frustrated with her until she pinned me to the ground. I still remember the way the moonlight reflected off her eyes, the gift that Artemis had bestowed to her, and the way it seemed to bring a… a sense of calm to me.”
Pyrrha noted the small smile that started to cross Cinder’s lips as a tear ran down her cheek. “And that’s when you were expelled, right?”
Cinder nodded and wiped the tear away from her cheek. “Huntresses arent supposed to fall in love, we’re supposed to give ourselves completely to Artemis. We spent the moment together, alone in a spring and sleeping under the stars. The next morning, we were both expelled from the hunt and stripped of our protections that Artemis gave us. However, she showed mercy to us and allowed for Ruby to keep the gift that she had been given. After that, we built a home together outside of Athens.”
“Then what happened?” Pyrrha asked, genuine curiosity leaving her lips. She paused for a moment when she realized how quickly she had asked, clearing her throat and looking away from Cinder. “I-I mean, that explains how you were expelled, but it doesnt explain why you’re a gorgon. It doesnt seem like Artemis cursed you.”
Cinder nodded and stood up to make her way to the next statue pile and started to piece together another broken statue. “That’s because it wasnt her. What I didnt know was that another goddess had Ruby in her eyes. Salem, the goddess of chaos. I’m still not sure if it was our of jealousy, or if she had other plans for her, but Salem came to me and offered me a choice: I could leave Ruby and live out a peaceful life, or I could stay with Ruby and become a living weapon she’d use against humanity and the gods.”
Pyrrha watched as Cinder slowly placed a piece of stone and sealed the cracks, listening to her voice break as she spoke. For a moment, all Pyrrha wanted to do was hug Cinder, to try to tell her that everything would be okay, but as another tear ran down Cinder’s cheek, she pulled back as she watched the hair start to turn into snakes. She kept her distance and sighed. “So, you were tricked.”
“No, not tricked,” Cinder answered. “Punished. At the time, I had wanted to do whatever I could to stay with Ruby, so I accepted Salem’s offer and became her weapon. One that she’d use on her own terms. At first, I thought that meant being called upon by her to fight the heroes that the other gods would throw at her. Instead, being a “living weapon” was meant to be a punishment for daring to try to stay with someone that was off limits. I spent the night with Ruby and then… all I remember was feeling everything inside of me burn.”
Pyrrha went quiet and got up to help Cinder, gently taking her hand to help steady her as she tried to place another piece of the statue together. Even though Cinder’s eyes were covered, she kept her own gaze averted from Cinder’s eyes, helping guide her to keep the statues from getting damaged further.
Cinder placed the stone she held and then wiped the tears from underneath her blindfold. “She held me until my transformation was complete. I felt… cold and empty, but having her arms around me still helped me feel a bit of warmth. Then, I looked up and stared at her eyes and then… well…” she motioned to the statue next to them.
“She turned to stone.” Pyrrha looked at the statue of Ruby once more, noticing more faded paint on the stone as if Cinder had tried to give her color once more. Silver for her eyes, red on her dress, black for her hair and a pink on her lips. All in an attempt to make the statue seem more like who she used to be. “And the others here?”
“Accidental victims.” Cinder looked at the pile of stones in front of her. “This one was a warrior sent to kill me, like you. He caught me by surprise and managed to give me a nasty scar on my side. “But then, he made the mistake of looking in my eyes.”
“You… you didnt want to turn him to stone, did you?”
Cinder shook her head and steadied herself with a deep breath. “I wanted to be left alone with Ruby until I could find a way to bring her back to normal. Instead, more people came and I became the weapon that Salem wanted me to be. Warriors and heroes have been coming at me for years, a few travelers have stopped only to get frozen in stone as well. This… place was supposed to be a sanctuary for me when I first arrived with Ruby, a place for me to quietly find a cure to all of this. I-I couldnt stay at the home she and I built.”
Pyrrha sat down and growled at herself under her breath when she realized she couldnt not help Cinder. Sure, she was spartan and Cinder was a gorgon, but her life belonged to Mercury and she couldnt sit around if someone was cursed. “I… I think I know someone that can help. I’ll have to go back to Sparta, but… I know a disciple of Mercury that might be able to cure you.”
“You do?!” Cinder asked as she took Pyrrha’s hands. “I’ll do anything if it means getting rid of this curse!”
Pyrrha looked away from Cinder to keep from looking at her eyes, and to hide the small blush that crossed her cheeks. She couldnt help but catch the small scales along Cinder’s cheek, or how warm and soft her hands felt even after working with cold stone for hours. She slowly pulled away, her voice breaking a bit as she spoke. “Y-yes, I’m fairly sure he can. And if he cant, then as a spartan, I’ll give up my weapon.”
“I’ll make sure you have a warm meal before you leave.”
“Thank you,” Pyrrha said quietly as she watched Cinder walk off. The blush on her cheeks deepend as she watched her, her heart pounding in her chest as she gripped the shaft of her spear. “Its just nerves about seeing Jaune again, that’s all,” she said to herself. “I help Cinder, and then I go home. That’s all it is.”

Some Arkos on Fire because @knightfallcravin s artwork is pretty neat.
Pyrrha, to Cinder: Touch his butt.
Cinder: Why would I touch the blonde boys butt?
Pyrrha: You just gotta.
Cinder: Do I set it on fire?
Pyrrha: No, you squeeze it. Or smack it.
*Cinder touches Jaune butt*
Jaune: ... >:|
Cinder: *squeezes butt*
Jaune: I may be erect but I don't know if it's out of fear, excitement or rage.

House Wife AU part 6
*Before a date*
Pyrrha, crouching down: And I want you guys to be on your best behavior for your Uncle Roman, okay?
Achilles/Troy: Yes Mommy.
Pyrrha, smiling: That's great to hear. Now give me some smooches.
*Pyrrha pulls her kids into a group hug before kissing them on the cheeks a bunch*
Achilles/Troy: *giggles*
Cinder: Okay, And should be food in the fridge for dinner. When they get hungry just make them a meal. I do hope you actually know how to cook meals meant for children.
Roman, boastfully: Cindie, I am an A class chef. The best in this entire town. I'm offended that you would even suggest otherwise.
Cinder: You once called me up in the middle of the night to ask how long you put spicy wings on in the oven.
Roman: I was drunk. Give me a break.
Cinder, bewildered: Who the hell eat spicy wings while drunk?!
Roman, offended: Okay, did you ask me to come here to watch your kids, or play twenty questions?!
Cinder, sighing: Just don't burn my kids' food.
Roman: I won't. Geez! Give me some credit.
Cinder, turning: Okay, are you ready, honey?
Pyrrha, smiling: I am. Let's go.
Cinder: Great. Oh wait. Hold on. *Turns to Roman* Before I go. Need to tell you something.
Roman, rolling his eyes: Great, this talk again.
Cinder: Have the kids' teeth brushed and put them to bed by 8. There should be bed time stories in Troy's dresser. And they prefer when you make funny voices while reading.
Roman, raising an eyebrow:.....uh...that's it?
Cinder: Yep. That's all. Call us if there's any problem.
Roman: But aren't you going to threaten me if anything happens to your kids like usual? Go full mama bear and put some fear in me? Caress a knife across my cheek or anything like that?
Cinder: Nope. Not tonight.
Roman:.......why?
Cinder, sighing: Because Pyrrha told me that i should be nicer to you, since you watched our kids so often for free. It's the least I could, and honestly, I somewhat agree.
Roman, confused:.......are you for real? Is this a test or something? Are there hidden cameras in this room? *Picks up lamp and inspects it* Hello?
Cinder, annoyed: There isn't a hidden camera, you damn idi— *deep breath* Look, I'm trying to be nice to you, and it would be much easier if you don't proceed to piss me off all the time.
Roman, shivering: Right. Sorry. I’ll tone down my dumbassness now. It’s just that I'm not....tsk, used to you being nice to me. Especially when it involve your kids.
Cinder: Well you watched them so many times with no hiccup at all, except for last Halloween when you lost them of course, which I must admit, kinda ticked me off.
Roman, grimacing: It sure did. The doctors were shocked by how far you got that heel up my ass.
Cinder: But besides that, you've actually been a.....decent babysitter, if I must say. So I trust you to actually take care of my kids. I have nothing to worry about.
Roman: Holy crap. Was that a compliment?
Cinder, sassily: Believe it or not but I occasionally hand them out sometimes. Just rarely to you though.
Roman:.........
Cinder, quizzically: What? Why are you staring at me like that?
Roman, smirking: So you actually think I’m a good babysitter?
Cinder: Decent, I said.
Roman, mock crying: Oh Cindie. That’s the nicest thing you have ever said about me. You actually trust me with your kids.
Cinder, groaning: Oh shut up.
Roman, sniffing: Oh Cindie.
Cinder: I said shut it!
Roman, spreading arms: Give me a hug!
Cinder: What? Ew, no! Get away from me!
Roman, hugging Cinder: You can't ignore it. You actually care about me. No matter how many times you try to deny it. You do have a heart under all the darkness.
Cinder, growling: Get off!
Roman: I'm practically a part of the family now. When am I going to move in?
Cinder, trying to squirm out: Honey, help!
Pyrrha, trying to hold back her laughter: Awwwwwww.
Cinder: Traitor!
Troy/Achilles: *giggle*
Roman: Can I be The Godfather for the little runts?
Cinder: I will kick you in the nuts if you ever suggest that again!
Roman, letting go immediately and nodding understandingly: Right right! Understood. Pushed it too far. Have fun on your date!
Pyrrha, smiling sweetly: We will. Have fun with the kids.
Roman, smiling: Will do!
Pyrrha, looping her arm into Cinder's: Shall we go?
Cinder, smiling: After you.
*Pyrrha and Cinder walk out the house*
Roman: Oh my God. She actually trusts me. *Starts dancing* She trusts me~ She trusts me~ She actually trusts me~ Woop Woop!
Troy/Achilles: *giggle*
*Outside*
Pyrrha: You know, that was very nice of you. You really made Roman's night probably from saying that. He looked so happy.
Cinder, shrugging: Hey, it's like what you said. It's the least I could do. You are really rubbing off on me, I swear.
Pyrrha: That's just a part of my charm, I guess.
Cinder, laughing: Yeah, it really i—
*Sound of glass breaking is heard from inside the house*
Cinder: What the?!
Pyrrha: Oh dear. I think one of the kids must've knocked over a glass or something. Let's chec—
*Troy opens the front door*
Pyrrha: Ope. Beat us to it.
Cinder: What happened? Is everything alright?
Troy: Yeah, Uncle Roman just knocked over grandpa's vase while dancing after you left.
Roman’s voice from living room: YOU SAID YOU WOULDNT TELL! COME ON! I JUST GOT HER TRUST! DONT RUIN THIS FOR ME!
Cinder, sighing quietly: Son of a bitch.

AU where Cinder is Medusa and she falls in love with the heroine sent to kill her?
(This was a fun idea)
Cinder slowly put a blindfold over her eyes, making sure she could still see through the cloth without anyone being able to see them. The smile on her lips faded as she felt one of the snakes in her hair rub against her hand, a reminder of the curse she bore. No longer could anyone gaze upon her eyes, lest they turn to stone. Not that it mattered, most people had thought of her as a monster before her curse anyway. A siren that lured men away from their wives, a changeling ready to steal away anyone that came close, a dryad who would sacrifice men… it was all the same to those who were jealous of her.
The clattering of a statue alerted her that someone was nearby, the snakes slowly starting to rile themselves up as they tasted the scent of human in the air. Cinder quickly finished tying the blindfold and stood up, gently coaxing her snakes to lay down. Her fingers ran across their scales as they turned to hair, the breath she held leaving her lips as she took a moment to before making her way to the front of her home.
She grabbed a knife and held it behind her back, walking out to the courtyard of her home and looked out over the statues that stood in the night. With a deep breath, Cinder made her way around the statues as graceful as the hunter she used to be, stopping when she saw a girl with red hair praying to the statue that had fallen over and cracked. “Do all spartans break into other’s homes?”
The woman stood up and readied her spear and shield, taking a step back as she looked around. “Is it really breaking in if I’m hunting a monster?”
“Monster, havent been called that in a while.” Cinder crouched and moved around the statues, keeping out of sight. She gently stroked her hair as the snakes started to hiss, slowly feeling the hair turn to scales. A low hiss emanated from her as she stopped near the spartan, glaring from under the blindfold. “Though, you just broke the last person that called me that.”
“Show yourself!” the spartan yelled out as she slowly stalked through the statues.
Cinder pulled the knife out from behind her back and quietly made her way behind the spartan, following quietly as she stalked her prey. Once she was close enough, she gripped the spartan’s arm and pulled her close, holding the knife to her throat. “But if you wont leave, then I’ll have to make an example-”
She pulled back as the spartan lashed out with her spear, letting her go and pulling back to keep just out of reach of the tip. A growl escaped her lips as she moved around the statues, only to watch them shatter as the spartan went after her. Finally, she grabbed the spear before it could shatter the last statue, gripping it tightly. “Stop that!”
The spartan glared as she yanked the spear away from Cinder’s grip. “You’ve already killed them!”
“Most of them were accidents!”
“You’re a gorgon! Nothing you do is by accident!”
Cinder glared and stepped closer to the spartan, keeping her knife at her hip. “You dont know what its like to find out what kind of curse you have until its too late. To find someone you can care about, hold them close, and never look into their eyes without turning them to stone. Watching friends and family pushing you away, “heroes” of all kinds trying to kill you for fame and honor, turning them to stone each and every time to survive! All because I fell in love with the wrong person!”
The spartan tripped as she stepped on a piece of statue behind her, falling back and using her spear to rip the blindfold off Cinder. On instinct, she put her shield up, arms shaking as she waited for the gorgon’s glare to turn her to stone. “J-just turn me to stone like the rest of them.”
“I’m… not… going to do that,” Cinder said, eyes averted from the shield, terrified about what seeing her own eyes in her reflection would do to her. “Just… go. You’ve done enough.”
“You’re… not going to hurt me?”
Cinder started cleaning up the pieces of statue on the ground, stopping when she found a piece of her first love’s face. “I want to. I should.” A tear ran down her cheek as she placed the stone face to the side. “But right now, I want to be left alone. Leave, go back to Sparta, and tell everyone you killed me. Get the glory that you seek.”
The spartan sighed and put her weapon down. “I cant do that. They’ll want proof and if I come back empty handed, I’ll just be sent out here again.”
Cinder looked over towards the spartan as she heard her start to pick up some of the stone pieces to move to the side, eyeing her carefully. She reached for her snake hair and gently stroked the scales until they turned back to hair. “You just tried to kill me, why would you help me clean up?”
“I dont have anywhere else to go, and until I have proof that you’ve been defeated, I dont really have a choice but to stay here.”
“And what makes you think I’m going to let you stay?”
“Do you really want to stay here alone?”
Cinder glared at her, but didnt try to argue as she looked over the house she kept. Sure, it was only a one story house, but there were still enough rooms that were left empty that even the statues that had once filled her courtyard still wouldnt have been enough. “Fine, but you stay on the other side of the house. But stay out of my way.”
“I’ll be quiet and you’ll never notice I’m here.”
Cinder rolled her eyes and tired the blindfold over her eyes again, making her way back inside. She stopped at a small shrine of Artemis and lit a small fire at the base, kneeling down in front of it. With a quiet breath, she looked up at Artemis's stone face. “I know I was expelled from the hunt, but please give me the strength to deal with this spartan.”
“You were a huntress?”
Cinder nearly jumped as she heard the spartan’s voice, catching herself against the shrine she had made. “I thought I told you to stay away from me, spartan.”
“Pyrrha, my name is Pyrrha,” Pyrrha answered, leaning against the doorway. “And, I thought you’d want to have this.”
Cinder watched as Pyrrha pulled out a fixed stone head of her first love. She slowly reached for it, taking it and holding it. “You… you fixed her…”
“You seemed to care about her. And, I'm sorry.”
“Cinder.” Cinder stood up and placed the statue head next to her bed. “My name is Cinder. And… thank you.”
Pyrrha nodded and turned to leave. “I’ll go clean up the rest.”
Cinder sighed as she listened to Pyrrha leave, her heart starting to thump in her chest as her arms trembled. It had been a long time since she had felt like this, and now, it was for that spartan that tried to kill her. “My heart is going to get me killed.”

i love a good enemies to lovers & throw in some deranged obsession on cinder’s part as she’s so desperate to have pyrrha, have that power & that getting all muddled with her attraction for the other. pyrrha wrestling with her duty & the uncomfortable, needy feelings that arise for cinder, that pull inside her to reunite with the other as both halves of the maidens powers calls out for the other is just. chefs kiss. delicious.
