My head was in the clouds, and my feet hovered just above ground as I returned home. I really, really, really hate how we got to this place. I really do. But I'm glad we made it. I was in a drunken-like stupor until I reached my address. Even though I said I would deal with the consequences of the kids' feelings about us being together, I was still nervous about them finding out. Well...Luca finding out. Alessia seems to be on a mission to find out what exactly I do in my spare time, heh.
I opened the front door carefully, expecting them to be in the living room, and prepared for an attack. But they weren't there. I breathed the biggest sigh of relief and ran upstairs to change my clothes before they spotted me.
Luca was in the kitchen doing homework, so I assumed Alessia was in her room doing hers. Is this new, older Alessia going to cut the cord? She's usually right up under him. Maybe she liked her room a lot. After dinner last night, I let them decide which bedrooms they wanted. Luca offered Alessia the bigger room with the bathroom since her old room was so tiny. But she chose the smaller room without a bathroom. She said she felt safer in there—whatever that meant. Sometimes, I worry about her. I'm not quite sure what it is, but she seems to be...paranoid about things sometimes. I'm probably just seeing things.
Luca asked where I had been. I told him I was checking out the community center because I would start working from there. Hopefully, my answer satisfied him. I didn't need two sleuths on my trail.
I asked how he liked the house.
He looked around and nodded approvingly. "It's nice. I like it. Feels really big, but it's not."
"Good. I'm glad you like it. I can't wait until it warms up so we can get in the pool."
"Me too," he said.
Willow Creek spoiled me with its warm springs and falls. I would have broken out my shorts and flip flops by now.
I finished my dinner and went to Alessia's room to check on her. She sounded a bit bummed when I asked how she fared. I thought it was something related to her friend, but she said she didn't like school. That sentiment sounded painfully familiar. I guess I didn't have to worry about putting either of them through university, though I would have gladly done it if they were interested.
"How do you like the house?" I asked.
"I like it."
"Are you comfortable in here?"
"Yup."
Oh boy. I guess she's in a mood. Just as I was getting up to leave, Tofu crawled from under the bed, looking and smelling like she'd been rolling in puddles again. Even though I know Alessia hasn't accepted her yet, I won't give up on our original plan. I want to connect with my daughter, and if taking care of a dog together was what she wanted, that's what we'll do. I haven't forced Tofu on her, but I think little nudges may help.
"Tofu needs a bath," I said. "Want me to show you how to do it?"
"I don't want that plumming dog in my room!"
"Alessia!! Watch your mouth!"
I scooped up Tofu and held her close. "It's okay, sweetie. She's just having a bad day. I'm sure she loves you deep down."
I took her to the bathtub, hoping one day Alessia would come around. I know she's upset about us not picking out a dog together, but this grudge she held against Tofu had gone on long enough. Did she intend to despise her forever?
"Even if she doesn't like you," I said to Tofu, "it'll be okay because when they leave, it'll be just you and me."

I'll be honest: I've got no excuse for that one. This is just pure and unfiltered silliness. 😂
The idea that Peach finds Mario very handsome is one that I absolutely adore, and I love imagining that her friends would often catch her staring while he works around the castle. The man would never notice; too absorbed by the task at hand to remotely consider that his visible strain and skillful moves might be closely observed. But little does he know, those seemingly mundane displays of strength and deftness would have the Princess pining even harder for him! xD 💘
What can I say? It's been forever since the last time I drew her looking properly flustered in his presence. I just had to! 😏🤭

Lois Lane is actually Ellie Phantom
Idea came from a comment @ourrechte-blog made on This post
So, back when Ellie was traveling the world, she saw quite a few things that she really didn't like. War Crimes, Humans Rights Violations, Poverty, etc.
And she really wanted to draw some attention to those problems, but she knew that as some random kid those stories would never receive the press they deserved. So she decided to Become the press instead.
She went back to Danny, who was also on the run, and they both got new Identities. Danny became Sam "Daniel" Lane, and Ellie became Lois "Ellie" Lane. (Also she reverted to her true age, so the ages matched up)
Ellie, now Lois, began to go to School so she could establish her new identity. Eventually, she managed to get to College, Graduated, and got a Job at the biggest newpaper she could, the Daily Planet.
She was now living her best life. She was a credited reporter, her dad was a Military General, and she was spreading the word about all the problems in the world that often got overlooked.
Then, one day, Lois met a really nice guy named Clark Kent. He was such a sweetheart, and had such a kind personality. She was immediately smitten.
Even Danny liked him, and Danny barely liked anyone for fear of them hurting his daughter.
And it got even better when she figured out that he was Superman, a Superhero just like her dad used to be. She proved it when she jumped off of the roof of the Daily Planet and he caught her. (She was never in danger, she can fly too. But she did decide that even if he wasn't superman, she trusted him enough to tell him that she had powers)
They got married, and one day Clark came home looking disturbed about something.
Apparently he just found out that a company called Cadmus had tried to Clone him.
She was not happy when he told her that he didn't want to accept the kid.
"Clark. So help me Ancients, if you left that poor boy alone and rejected him after he did nothing wrong I am going to string you up by your toenails and let my Uncle Fright go to town on you with his Magic Sword!"
"I-I know what I did was wrong honey, but why are you so angry about it?!"
"Clark, I'm also a Clone! You know I don't have a Mom, how did you never ask my dad or me about that!?"
"I thought he was dead or something! I'm sorry!"
"We'll talk about this later, let's go talk to that poor kid."
"Yes ma'am."

i feel like this is a hot take, but it's clear to me that so much of ianthe's outward projection of superiority is a deeply ingrained — really, formative — sense of inadequacy. it's to prove to everyone, even the people who were supposed to love her, who were supposed to inherently value her, that she does actually have value — in fact, she has the most value because look at what she can DO!
and i don't even think she's entirely internalized that, but that kind of projection kind of falls apart if you show even a moment of self-doubt
and i know ianthe isn’t supposed to be sympathetic here, or at least i’m assuming she’s not to most people, but can you imagine the body horror of being inextricably tied to and irrevocably altered by the guy you grew up with and didn’t even really like and who didn’t like you either (but who served you because that was his Role, and, who, even though you’ll never admit it, you maybe even cared about a bit because at a certain point that’s kind of unavoidable - i know she tried to convince palamedes she didn’t, but she is a known liar prone to sentimentality), but it was fine because you knew you were better than him, too?
except now you're not exactly, not entirely better than him, because he's not just fueling you, you didn't get to just use him to become someone who matters. instead, he's part of you, and you still don't matter?
like from what she says about her parents' reaction to the canaan house aftermath, even that part didn't work. she didn't earn mommy and daddy's validation, admiration, anything
and she's running his empire, but she's still third place to surrogate daddy, too. if she even places!
ianthe naberius is very much the consequences of her own actions, i’m not going full apologia here, just imagining being in that position and. goddamn

I wonder how they would react meeting the canon versions. (even if they are dead)
I don't have a strong mind in the canon critters that don't show up in the game, 'cause i don't want to think in what could it been if we could have them all there
But Canon Dogday is a really interesing character for me, and even more interesing the way the fandom has take him
