Kallias’ hazel eyes are bright and especially green under the twinkling lights. “Dance with me.”

Your brain crashes to a halt.

An almost wolfish smirk takes over their face, like they know exactly what they’re doing to you. Damn them. “I won’t know for sure how much I like it here until I get the full experience, you know?”

“You danced with the High Councillor earlier,” you say, like a fucking fool.

They wave a hand, their many bracelets clinking together with the movement. “You know that one doesn't count.”

Something inside you hums in petty satisfaction.

“Uh,” you say rather intelligently, your cheeks, ears, hands hopefully less on fire than they feel. There’s a horrible pause when you can’t figure out whether you should say yes or alright or fucking finally, but then you decide on, “Okay.”

“Okay?” Kallias parrots back, grinning freely. They offer you their hand.

You stop with your hand hovering just above theirs. You swallow thickly. “I, uh—I might be hot right now.”

Kallias laughs the way they do when they're about to knowingly make a bad joke. They press your palms together, folding their fingers over yours, and tug you towards the dance floor. “You always are, sunshine.”

The Man of Many Masks

I would like to introduce you to my main deity. The Man of Many Masks is a very personal deity to me. I've only ever worked with a masculine face, so I refer to him with he/him. However, he contains multitudes, and I'm sure there are parts that use any pronoun you can think of. Some people may see him as a concerning deity to work with due to a lot of the verbiage he uses to describe his domains or the fact that blood can be an appropriate sacrifice, at times. He is not an easy God to work with, but he makes me feel fulfilled and like I am not alone in the way I am. I hope you can appreciate him as much as I do and consider integrating him into your practice. He has certain aspects that encourage plural folks to seek him, I believe, and have listed it as a domain of his. I don't see it as "he causes plurality" and much as he is and protects those who are plural.

• Protection by way of hiding, information and knowledge for self protection

Prayer Marks

The graphic is not all exhaustive. These are just what I've figured out. Learning the language of your God is the hardest part.

The Man of Many Masks is very internal. Communication is often through you. The relationship tends to be very transactional and distant. This deity is very personal to me, and this guide includes a lot of UPG.

Ways to worship/devotional acts

• Therapy: Shadow work, Self-Reflection, IFS, Working with the idea of different selves in different situations

• Religious: Prayer Marks and prayer, Mirror scrying/Water scrying, reading Tarot, meditation (especially for reflection)

• For systems: internal communication, switching intentionally, striving for functional multiplicity. Striving to understand roles and triggers. Not disclosing status to others to keep yourself safe.

• Art: Community Theater, acting/voice acting, Role-playing or "being someone else." Making or printing masks. Writing/representing the self through characters.

• General life: Self Defense Classes, Home Defense Classes, not just "how to defend" but "preventative measures." Hot showers. Keeping animals that choose to hide or disguise themselves. Wearing earrings or other bilateral clothing/accessories that doesn't match. Protecting your information (not just regularly changing passwords, but not disclosing more than necessary to coworkers, bosses, Teachers, landlords, strangers etc. They are not your friends and they do not need to know.)

• Scents: Lemon, Bergamot, Green Tea (alertness), Vanilla (Safety), coconut (protection), Rain or Ocean (water)

• Colors: Gray-Blue, Blue, Mirror-Green, Gray/White

Offerings

• Foods: Cookies or other foods shaped like something else, ie. Heart cookies, gingerbread men, braided bread, meatloaf Man.

• Burning Appropriate Incense or Colored Candles

• Mirror (dedicated, with Prayer Marks drawn onto larger mirrors), Masks (make them, display them, wear them, use mask shaped soap, etc etc)

• An array of one kind of object's variants. One of each color of a candy, a set of tabletop dice, a bunch of different novelty erasers. Show Multitudes through objects.

• Any listed correspondence can make a good offering

• Shredded documents. You could even blend them and make them into clean new paper.

Transaction/Ritual examples

• You want to know if you can trust someone. You set yourself in front of a mirror and begin meditation. Draw the appropriate marks on the mirror if large enough, on a chalkboard, paper, tablet, etc if not. Appropriate Marks may include "Knowledge" "doubt" "mask" "the self" "the other" and directional indicators like arrows, joining symbols like circles, and other grammatical symbols. Keep your face visible. When you feel sufficiently connected and like he is with you, pray and commit your offering. This should be appropriately scaled to the task at hand: consider current distance of relationship, social standing of target, and how guarded they may be. Once the offering is complete, scour your face for changes, and interpret accordingly. Consider the language of the deity, and what his communication may mean. This Ritual may be helped with steam, smoke, or other concealing things between you and the mirror.

Altar/Shrine Ideas

• Appropriately colored flowers, especially the correspondent flowers. If those are difficult to get, Fake flowers are not only acceptable, but encouraged.

• Mirrors

• Masks. Black, blue, or green masks, especially ornate ones. Any representation of the theater masks are also acceptable, and if they have meaning to you, can be used.

• Chalkboard, Whiteboard, second mirror for writing on, etc. These are important for your Prayer Marks. Choose something you can wipe off (dry or wet erase work. Wet erase is good if you plan on leaving it until next time.) Unless you're okay replacing your sketchbook from time to time.

• Candles. Blue or green. It may be hard to find candles that are the correct color with the correct Scents you want.

• Incense. See above Scents. Finding an appropriate holder can be an exciting devotional activity.

I gave up on K-Pop back in 2018 and came back in 2023.

I was introduced to K-Pop back in 2009 by a family friend of mine who has seen me grow up. At that time, I was a young middle schooler who was curious about a plethora of things, especially music. I started learning to play the guitar but gave up after three lessons.

In 2009, I was learning the basics and what is now considered the fundamentals of the K-Pop world/industry. I was surprised to see that pop girl and boy groups were the majority of the K-Pop scene. The late 2000s was a time when boy groups were the face of the major labels, i.e., 2PM was the face of JYP; Super Junior was the face of SM, Big Bang of YG Entertainment, and BEAST of Cube Entertainment (wow, I'm dating myself here hahaha). Girls Generation had shaken the Hallyu wave, rising in popularity with their iconic songs Gee, Genie, Run Devil Run, and Mr. Taxi; all songs are super catchy with cute choreography that led many to learn and recognize. This was the beginning.

I've learned that idols would participate in variety shows and would sometimes collaborate with other idols from the same generation. It was through these shows that I would learn about their personalities and see another side to these people who have devoted so much of their time, effort, cultivated work ethics, and dedication to their craft. I didn't know I would feel so close to these people who would have no idea who I am. I didn't have my heart set on stanning one group. These second-generation idols were a bunch of Unnies and Oppas that I admired and wished they were legit my own.

As time progressed, more girl and boy groups would debut, and a new generation of K-pop groups would emerge. New trends would begin. New perspectives on the Idol industry would arise.

With these new groups emerging, it was becoming difficult to follow groups. I was into Running Man, and that was when I started liking an individual from a group. I realized how difficult it was for me to keep up with all these groups while most second-gen groups were on a hiatus or were bound to disband due to other activities the Unnies or Oppas started to participate in, such as acting.

In August 2016, Blackpink debuted and was known for their two songs, 휘팡람 WHISTLE, and BOOMBAYAH. They were one of the first K-pop groups to contribute to the trend of double title comebacks or promoting with two songs from their EP or full-length album. From there, groups started to hop on the trend. BTS's popularity was on the verge of slowly rising to where it would be today. I became overwhelmed trying to keep up with groups, and I became annoyed with fans who hopped on the ARMY fandom train. Fandom wars were starting, and I decided to give up on following the newest and latest albums that groups were releasing. I longed for the consistency that the second-gen groups were providing. I didn't realize how simpler things were during the height of second-gen groups.

The busyness of life started to catch onto me. I realized that I had better things to put my focus and attention towards. I ended up not actively listening to K-Pop from 2018 until January 2023. Since then, my life has changed, and I have found myself stanning a girl group with so much in store for them. I rediscovered all the K-pop songs that I hadn't listened to in a long time. I had a different perspective on my approach to K-pop and the Hallyu wave. I learned that as a fan or an active listener, I have a choice (song pops into my head, and I start humming and dancing); I can either make the most out of this or go back to how I viewed all of this before I left.

So here I am now, writing to whoever is reading this post. I'm a Unni or Nuna fan of these fourth-generation groups, a member of the Sunshine Protectors Club, and vested in one specific group that has changed my life.

Let me tell you about the Feast of Farore.

So, the way my personal calendar works is festivals are a single day, feasts last for 3 days and any holiday with the word “day” in it is more than that.

So, the Feast of Farore is a 3 day holiday/holy period dedicated to Lady Farore, Keeper of Courage, Bringer of Life, Protector of Children, Sister of Din, Sister of Nayru, Gifter of the Triforce.

It takes place from March 20-22.

Now, before I continue about the holiday, I am going to recognize my bias. NOTE,

BEGINNING OF TRIGGER WARNING

I am a dedicated worshiper of Lady Farore. I have memories of worshipping her in multiple past lives, of even once being part of a spirit(s)(?) called Farore's Wind. I have had several tarot readings that referenced this, so I know I'm not just imagining it.

HOWEVER. My memories take place in a Hyrule that looks fairly different from the one seen in the Legend of Zelda franchise, primarily, one where worship of the Golden Goddesses is still an honored part of Hyrule's culture. It still deeply effects me to see a statue of the Lady of Light in my goddess's Spring.

I will attempt to keep this from coloring this post, but I cannot guarantee anything. I am not trying to bash anyone/thing, but it may come across that way. Just a note.

March 20-Celebration of the Bringer of Life

Lady Farore is well know throughout Hyrule for her actions bringing life to the land of Hyrule. She blew over the hills and rocks that Lady Din crafted, and filled the world with Color. So on this day, we honor that, reminding ourselves of her joyful gift to our world.

I always honor her through spring cleaning. It is a fresh start, a new life/chapter of life beginning. I will also make sure to cook a hearty and delicious dinner, with bread served too. In the case of this year, I will be making Leek and Potato Soup(I will share that recipe tomorrow).

(I am especially fortunate this year, as my school district that I teach in has a district holiday. I could have cried when I found out.

I personally, will be beginning my yearly re-dedication ritual. I will NOT be sharing that.

March 21- Celebration of the Keeper of Courage, Protector of Children

Lady Farore is often seen as a joyful and caring person. Sometimes, she is known as Mother of the Kokiri/Koroks/Kikwi or even, on occasion, the Skull Children. She has walked and watched the Hero's Spirit since the very beginning, and his actions to continue to fight even in the face of great fear is what earned her favor.

On this day, I spend time in reflection. How can I embody this in my life? How can I act with courage and kindness and care even when frustrated to anger? I will be trying to write 3 prayers that I can use to remind myself of any ideas I come up with. (I also will make korok masks again and leave them as gifts to the Koroks/Kokiri/Kikwi.

March 22-Celebration of the Sisters, Gifters of the Triforce

The Sister of Power and Wisdom, the Lady of Courage is sometimes misunderstood(though likely not to the same degree as Honored Din, whose aspect is so often misappropriated). Today is spent reminding ourselves that it takes wisdom to have courage, not recklessness. It takes power to stand up against our fear. Today is spent reflecting on this connection.

I will be spending this day cooking, trying something new, or even just working the earth. I encourage all to connect not just to our Lady of Courage, but the Lady of Wisdom and Lady of Power as well.
