white man or soap bar or something. i've looked around for more because i assume there's recessive fuckery going on but so far every other isopod i've found in the area was Normal
(Porcellio sp., possibly P. laevis? i suck at isopod ID)
The size difference between those two females Porcellio spinicornis I collected earlier today, with their pouch full of mancae, makes me wonder if it's a genetic mutation to be bigger or if it's just age difference? Most P. spinicornis here are the size of the female at the bottom but with our winters, most don't live more than 6 months. So the bigger one could be older? I mean, I would have my answer in a year since I started my own little colony.
@actually-2000-mice submitted: I got some dairy cow isopods recently and I love them so much!!! Ive been getting more into bugs and other lil guys in the last year and they're all just so wonderful!!!!
They are all a delight, yes! Isopods are very cute and very fun. Please tell each one of yours that I love them :)
the unfinished sketch is supposed to be Necrodes surinamensis (red lined carrion beetle) but i got bored and decided to do something else half way through lol
