i know the world is so downhill and it feels so tiring and depressing and draining to be here sometimes, but i promise you there are great things to experience. especially in nature.

i walk along this path adjacent to a small forest now and again on my way home. last summer i was walking through there, i casually looked into the forest and there was a deer. a whole buck deer. less than 20 metres away from me. in the spot in i always go to sit and reflect when i walk through the wood itself. he was only there for what must've been 15 seconds before he was spooked by something and moved out of sight.

it was such a heart stopping moment. the forest in question is surrounded by residential and business area with just a few pockets of woodland. i knew there were deer still living off of the small land available to them but i only see their small herd in the dead of night in the car, not walking along at 4pm when it was still bright!
