Why it was different with Luka
Knowing what we know now from “Derision”, it makes sense why Marinette didn’t research Luka. Marinette already got to know who Luka was personally under normal means, and because he didn’t have any connection to Chloe, she didn’t need to be as cautious about him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Back in “Silencer”, Luka had already proven himself to be more than trustworthy as he was someone who would not sit idly by as those with selfish intentions attempted to belittle and wrong her.
Tumblr media
But what ultimately made Marinette realize that she did not need to fear a relationship with Luka, was learning that he was somehow always there for her when she had no one to turn to, such as in “Heart Hunter” when the stresses of both her hero and civilian life became to much for her to bare and prevented her from being more open about her struggles, who she was and how she felt. Somehow, Luka had a way of knowing when she was conflicted about something and would waste no time attempting to understand her and her situation before giving her advice no one else knew to give her, even being willing to take action if and when needed.
Tumblr media
Granted, their relationship couldn't work out due to personal matters, but the major difference between her relationship with Luka and Adrien, was that she already got to know who Luka was, but she was still getting to know who Adrien was behind his fame, his rich status, the image of perfection companies advertised him as, and most of all, his friendship with Chloe.
For Marinette, there were things about Adrien that she already knew, but there were also things about him she realized she never knew, such as in "Risk" when she discovered how much he actually hated his life as a model.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Although she and Adrien want to get to know each other better, it was the fear of the unknown that made her wonder if Adrien really was the kind person she thought he was, or if he was just pretending to be nice to her so he could catch her off guard later, like how she thought Kim was only nice to her in the beginning to go along with Chloe's plans later. Despite knowing Adrien loved her and would not intend to bring her any harm, there was still a part of her that couldn’t help but doubt it all and wonder if she was actually good enough for him, after all, if she wasn’t good enough for Kim to hold in higher regard than Chloe, the girl who he favored all along, then how could she be so sure that she was good enough for Adrien(the rich and famous model) to consider over the word of his childhood friend, who was also Chloe.
Tumblr media
Back in "Sand boy, when we discover Marinette's greatest Nightmares was learning that Adrien was in love with Chloe, we only ever assumed it was natural for Marinette to feel this way, but looking back on things now, her fear of Adrien being potentially in love with Chloe had stemmed from her hidden fears of reliving her past mistake of allowing herself to love someone else so easily without being more cautious.
Tumblr media
The level of trust Cat Noir built with Ladybug, is why Marinette was able to accept Adrien’s affection in “Ephemeral”, because no matter what Marinette feared, she was at least able to find comfort in knowing that Adrien really was always there for her and would always be there for her. But with the two of them together now, without knowing each others identities, things are different. Marinette needs time to accept that being with Adrien is nothing to fear, and Adrien in turn was more than willing to be with her through every step of the way.

My take on the Paris Special’s alternate universe (pt. 1 of many concepts explained)
Keep in mind that I am not a writer- more an idea person. I don’t imagine anything I come up with will be even close to canon. With that said, let’s start with the Backstory:
The origin story begins not with the universe we see, but instead with a world where everything is normal… Except
Tumblr media
Gabriel allows Colt to use the Peacock Miraculous so that Amile can have a child. Instead of responding is complete disgust however, Colt takes an interest and decides to try and research about the miraculous…
Tumblr media
Somehow, he manages to learn what he needs to, and summons Gimmi to make the ultimate wish… To be given supreme power over anyone and everyone. After all, the price that would take would only serve to keep himself in power
Tumblr media
Things play out as we see they do in that universe at that point: Gabriel steals the Moth and Peacock miraculouses (miraculi?🤔), Colt kills Emile for using the power of the peacock again, mostly due to a proud anger he’s had since the first time she had Adrien, and Gabriel goes into hiding to start the resistance.
The difference now is that Colt knows of Gabriel’s identity… that’s exactly why he decides to give his only son the Cat Miraculous. So he can be forced to watch this universe’s Adrien unknowingly destroy himself (along with knowingly destroying Paris ☝️😌)
Now… here’s a few quick design ideas for other characters.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Felix and Kagami, both being Sentibeings, work for the Supreme as Morals Officers (not sure how else to call them). They’re both constantly on the clock, patrolling the city, keeping the citizens in line, and overall trying to dissuade any kind of rebellion.
They act in sort of a Good cop/Bad cop routine, and are so overworked and under so much pressure that they have no time to be themselves or even know themselves.
Tumblr media
Although Chloe’s father is still the mayor, Laws work differently under the Supreme’s rule. Andre was made to send Chloe to live elsewhere if he wanted to be given a position of political power, which lead to Chloe living with her friend Sabrina.
Chloe is a typical mean girl, lashing out at others and being petty, but this is all due to insecurity and (pretty trope-y) stuff.. She did grow up with her father though, and through her emotionally (and literally) absent mother, got to grow up with Adrien and even star as a model for many of Gabriel’s more youthful and feminine designs. She considers Adrien to be almost like a brother to her, even though she doesn’t see him much after his mother died.
Tumblr media
I,,, honestly don’t have much for Luka 🧍 He’s mostly just potential right now- Potential to become a part of the resistance AND potential to be used by the Supreme and harness a miraculous. Luka is a good bit more cynical compared to his show counterpart, and struggles with serious abandonment issues after not only his dad abandoning him as a baby, but his twin sister Juleka seemingly vanishing as well (she became a miraculous holder- I’ll design her eventually if y’all want 😊)

Thoughts/predictions for Miraculous season 6 :
Re-watching some episodes of season 5 :
- in Revelation, Lila/Cerise/Iris receives all the information Nathalie has on Gabriel Agreste. While she already knew he was Monarch, she now has access to the Miraculous grimoire (possibly decoded), probably the identities of the temporary holders that were revealed to Monarch and Mayura (I'm not sure if Chloé knows as she was akumatized at the time) at the end of season 3 (Alya, Nino, Luka, Kagami, Kim, Max), and worse of all, she might very well know that Adrien is a sentibeing controlled by his parents' rings.
- She steals Tomoe Tsurugi's laptop in Revolution, granting her access to Tsurugi technology and possibly more Miraculous information (the tech Gabriel used to remodel the jewels for instance) , but I'm not sure if it will be very relevant in season 6. She uploads it to her laptop in Re-creation.
- She witnesses the confrontation between Bug Noir and Monarch, and probably saw the former turn back into Marinette.
- in Re-creation, we learn that Ladybug told Adrien that "Gabriel helped her defeat Monarch". What is not clear is whether Adrien knows that he is a sentibeing and that his parents' rings contain his amok. I would hasard a "yes he does know" as an answer because Marinette asks "you're not wearing it?" speaking of the rings. It's singular, so it might refer to "the amok" (singular) and not "the rings" plural. But it might just be a translation error, so I watched in French. It's difficult to tell if they say "le" or "la" (singular) or "les" (plural). But it seems closer to "la" (feminine singular), and it's what was written in the subtitles. However, if they were referring to the amok, it would be "le" (singular masculin). Thus "la" actually makes little sense; it probably refers to "the ring" ("la bague") or "the wedding ring" ("l'alliance"), but the fact that it's singular when there are two rings is weird. So yeah, 50/50 chance that Adrien knows from the clues given by the epilogue. (Adding interpretation of the character's actions / motivations I would say there's a higher chance he doesn't know).
The reason I'm lingering on that last point is that if Lila/Cerise/Iris knows about the rings while Adrien doesn't, that might be an important fact for the plot of season 6. She could steal them undetected pretty early on, and Adrien would be hers to play with. While Marinette, Kagami and Félix would notice the stolen rings and be aware that Adrien might be under someone's control, there's little chance they will trace it back to the "new friend" Iris, even if they suspected Lila. And if Iris asks the right questions, she might even discover that Adrien is Chat Noir and use him against the Miraculous team. And given that only Luka knows Chat Noir's identity (while not knowing about him being a sentibeing and having lost his amok), no one would suspect him (if he "spies" on them) or understand his betrayal (if he makes his "new allegiances" known).
It's a kids show so I don't know if they'll go that far (though they did a good job in season 5), but the angst potential of Adrien being a puppet, realising he can't go against orders but not understanding why, then discovering that his parents' wedding rings can control him (that he literally couldn't say no to his father, he wasn't just too weak to do so, that his father manipulated him and his mother might have too), possibly understanding that he is an artificial life, a sentimonster, (and would he understand that Félix is one too? Or, lacking context, too pained to think straight and remember previous events (episode Emotions for instance), would he think himself alone?), and finally being told that his father was Monarch, that his girlfriend who happens to be his superhero partner lied to him, as did his family - learning all of that either step by step or all at once while being forced to pretend to be fine and ordered to go against his friends, teammates, loved ones - it would be pure torture. Add to that the distress caused by his unwilling actions to those around him, and the angst potential is tremendous.
A last couple facts :
- At the end of Re-creation, Cerise is "surprised" by a light/energy. The person behind that might be a new ally of hers or an enemy.
- In Timetagger, we learn that there is a "new Hawkmoth" (new butterfly miraculous user) in the future. Timetagger is sent to the past to steal Ladybug and Chat Noir's Miraculous, but it's not clear to me if it's for the wish or to defeat them early on so they are not a threat in the future. And while it seems to me to be too reckless a plan to be Lila/Cerise/Iris's (she's smart enough to understand the butterfly effect, and that the consequences might not be the ones she anticipates - might not be positive for her), the fact that Lila is seen babysitting Chris (the future Timetagger) at the end of the episode suggests that she is the future Hawkmoth. The issue is, Timetagger is about 10 years older than Chris. It seems like a big time lapse from the season 5 final (would Lila really wait all that long to get revenge /would the Miraculous team really take so much time to take her down?), and a kids' show having adult protagonists seems counterproductive. So Lila being sent to the future by Bunnix at the end of season 5 (as the kids aren't strong enough to fight her yet) and resuming her fight against Marinette/Ladybug seems, while possible, unlikely. I would rather bet on Tomoe Tsurugi using the knowledge about Miraculous / magic she got from Gabriel and her technology to track down Lila/Cerise/Iris and possibly forming an alliance with her. Or a completely new antagonist coming into play.

First of all I really like your Felix criticism as it's very well detailed and articulate especially the ship part. Seeing you list what Kagami likes in Adrien made me firm believe that they should have paired her with Luka if they really want her to be in a relationship since Luka shares those traits.
Honestly I argue that Lukagami have more parallels with Adrinette and each other compared to Feligami despite they don't interact much until Determination. Sure it will be in the cliche spare the pairs but it is less problematic and doesn't ruin both Felix and Kagami character arcs.
What do you think?
Thank you so much!
To be quite honest, I haven't actually thought much about Lukagami. I still wouldn't say I ship them, but you do make some valid points! I think Kagami and Luka would have a great dynamic. They both get what it feels like to have the person you love be in love with someone else, so they've got that in common. Aside from that, I think Luka the kind of guy who everyone feels comfortable around and who is able to encourage people to open up. So he'd be a good match for Kagami, who has been taught to conceal her emotions. Despite coming off as cold, Kagami is one of the more emotional characters in the show, so it would be nice for her to find someone who is attentive to her emotions and encourages her to be open about how she feels.
And as for Luka, he doesn't really have much of an established personality and we barely get to see him outside of a role as a love interest/wingman for Marinette, but he seems to focus a lot on other people and their well-being more than his own, which can sometimes lead to him getting walked over. So, Kagami could help him assert himself and stand up for himself. She could help him learn to put himself first. Like how she called Adrien to tell him to stand up for himself, she could help Luka find his self-respect.
But of course, relationships aren't perfect. And one conflict Lukagami might have to deal with could be about what Luka knowing Marinette and Adrien's identities and keeping it a secret from them means. Kagami, if she were in character, would not hesitate to let Marinette know that she knows her identity, so that could be plot point dealing with that, and it doesn't need Kagami to forget what he did and excuse him without holding him accountable, since what Luka is doing is so miniscule compared to the shit Felix has done. They failed to deliver on that in canon, so if you really needed to make Lukagami a plot point, it could serve a narrative purpose if they did that.
I don't know much about the parallels with Adrienette though. Maybe it's because I'm not that informed on Luka and Kagami as compared to Adrien and Marinette. Thing is, Luka and Kagami have only one interaction, which is mainly just talking about Adrienette. You seem to know more than me about this, so I'd love to know what you think, anon.
But yeah, I agree. Lukagami as it is in canon could make for a better relationship than Feligami in canon. My position is that Feligami had the potential to be a good ship, but the rushed pacing squandered it. If they had taken the time to flesh out their dynamic and the development of their relationship, it could have been really good. But they didn't do that, and it cost Felix and Kagami their character development and arcs. In contrast, Lukagami isn't much developed either, but at least it won't turn Kagami into a "girl who fixes the guy" kinda thing, since Luka doesn't need "fixing." And the ship won't come at the expense of their personalities, because Luka hasn't done anything that needs to be erased to make a ship happen like Felix has.
Thank you for your ask!

Do you find unrealistic for Adrien and Marinette to be in a happy relationship?
I wouldn‘t say it‘s entirely impossible but… there‘s a lot of work to do here and I just personally don‘t see it happening.
Most love square relationship problems in the show are resolved by Mari being somehow in the wrong and coddling Adrien with only a few exceptions, like that one time he apologized for giving crappy advice about dealing with Lila. Having one partner being made responsible for any problem all the time, even if both parties are at fault, is bad. And based on what we‘ve seen, Marinette would bend over backwards to make sure Adrien is happy at all times, even if it means sacrificing her own happiness in some way. Astruc himself said „Adrien is perfect, the world is flawed“, which in this case translates to „Marinette needs to overcome all and every flaw she ever has to be the perfect wife while Adrien can lean back and just exist as his perfect self“. Not sure that‘s healthy.
Other problems could come from behaviors these two have now, like how they handle jealousy or how well they communicate their feelings, that can carry over into adulthood if they don‘t learn how to deal with them. This is more speculation because obviously as 14 year olds they can learn to deal with these issues better, but there‘s potential for problematic behavior later on.
Also Adrien, before getting into a relationship, should probably do a little reflecting on who he is as a person outside the relationship. As of now, he has no real hobbies or interests or any way to define who he is as a person. I see this as a potential problem early on in the relationship, especially if Adrien isn‘t encouraged to try and find something he likes to do and… I guess becomes „dependent“ on Marinette? Idk if that‘s the right phrase to use, but I just really don‘t like the idea of someone defining themself just through a romantic relationship. Adrien needs to form his own identity first. This is not only a problem in the Adri//nette dynamic but in the Lady//noir dynamic. LB takes her job seriously and only ever uses the temps when needed, which caused CN to become super jealous bc LB relies on people who are not him. Or that time when LB was more in the loop because Fu had close contact with her and CN acted like LB was the bad guy for keeping stuff from him, not Fu. (I remember a post from Jacques i think about how Lady//noir wouldn't survive LB getting a promotion at a job or smth and that about sums it up pretty well.)
These are just things from the top of my head rn. Some of these things are speculative, because Adrien and Mari might be able to overcome their flaws and be good for each other. But at this point, I think the show went a little overboard with problems they have and even went as far as to give them flaws that are specifically caused by each other (like Marinette's stalking thing which was never a problem with Luka or Adrien pushing himself onto Kagami like he does with LB as CN.)
But again, just speculation. Me (and probably others) not shipping the square is less about how they fundamentally as people might not fit together perfectly and more about the pre-dating journey (plus now with s5 the early stages of their official relationship) being a huge mess full of toxic behavior that's barely adressed or worked on.

The final end with Adrien being in the dark once again and Luka trained under Su Han which is weird, shouldn't he train Ladybug or Chat Noir more if he want to teach the akuma repelling technique? They're the one in the battlefield more after all and with Marinette being a guardian, that technique would definitely does wonder for her mind.
Except Ladybug and Chat Noir don't know about each other's secret identity. So that barrier meant to protect them from the beginning is still up. In their case, the other cannot be found until they are transformed. Idem with Alya, Kagami and Félix. While they can potentially lead to Marinette, they cannot lead to the other they don't know.
However, since Luka knows both secret identities, he can lead to both. If whoever is after the Miraculous of the Black Cat and the Ladybug learn the identity of both LB and CN, it's game over because they go and find them as civil and / or attack their loved one to force them to submit their Miraculous in order to summon Gimmi. That's why Luka needs special training if the writers want him to be back. So LB and CN don't have to protect him and so he can help them without endangering them.
Also, Ladybug distributed all the Miraculous around so she doesn't have them all on her anymore. And while the other heroes may not be fully grown, they can still help and fight.

Obviously we know that the writers project their problems onto Chloé, and that’s ultimately the reason why she was replaced last minute by Zoé. But both girls are such wasted potential, and if the show was written by competent writers we could’ve had a really good arc for them both. Ig this post will be my unofficial character rewrite post for the both of them.
Link to my og rewrite post
Some of these ideas probably wont stick, especially with the ones with Zoé since a lot of them are in service to other characters. But ig this is my first draft.
I’d keep Chloé roughly the same in Season 1, she and Adrien are still close, her “friendship” with Sabrina and her admiration for Ladybug are still there. But I would probably change the way she bullies Marinette and have it done more secretly, especially after how Soqueline broke her phone last time she did it publicly. (She’s lowkey important now btw) And I’d also make her friendship with Mrs Bustier more important to her character.
There’d be moments in Season 1 that hint at a future one; but her arc would only properly start in Season 2 with the introduction of Audrey. Chloé would begin showing her vulnerable side, wanting to be seen as exceptional by her mother. She would be given the Bee Miraculous like how she gets it in the show, and would ultimately reveal her identity to prove her exceptionalism to her. Marinette would still lend her the Bee due to necessity, but the public identity rule would definitely be enforced with her and others afterwards.
Where I’d change her arc in Season 2, the changes would mostly lie with her views on her mother. She would first seek her approval whenever possible, but I’d have her realise that she would never be enough for Audrey and would stop caring about getting approval from her. I feel she would definitely start seeing Mrs Bustier more like a mother figure than Audrey too but idk. This would be around the same time Lila starts taking her place as a villain.
Season 3 would come the arrival of Zoé because I feel Season 4 is too late. Zoé would move to Paris after Audrey decides to live there permanently; and where Chloé wanted to be more close with Audrey, Zoé would want to be more close with André. In this choice, I’d want to emphasis how bad both the Bourgeois parents are in terms of parenting; and how the two sisters learn from eachother and bond over their shared experience. I imagine at the start they’re relationship is strained.
In this rewrite, I will have Zoé be the permanent Bee holder. But to make up for this. I’d have Chloé be the one to give her the Miraculous instead of Ladybug. And Idk the exact word for this, but I’d also make her almost a supplier/rich supporter(?) where she has her dad make this giant superhero base for the team where they can train, does that make sense? After that, I’d have Chloé properly better her relationships with Sabrina, Marinette, and Soqueline and Alya maybe.
Anything after Season 3, I can’t think of much when it comes to Chloé. Maybe I’d have her in Season 4 develop new relationships with other characters like Luka and Kagami for example. And with Zoé I’d have her slowly start to become more confident in herself and her abilities, kind of like a mirror to S1 Marinette. Zoé might still have a crush on her too, but I’m kinda conflicted on it since I imagine she’d be a protégé to Ladybug in this rewrite. But maybe it could still work idk.
This rewrite would end at Season 5, and I’d have it that the entire team would stop Monarch instead of just Bug Noire. This would include Marinette/Ladybug, Adrien/Cat Noir, Alya/Rena Rouge, Nino/Carapace, Zoé/Honeybee (because I don’t care for Vesperia), Kagami/Ryuko, and Luka/Viperion

I'm curious how you perceive Luka in the show. I love what you've been doing with Luka in "one does not love breathing", with accentuating personality traits that we've seen evidence of in the show - Luka lying to Marinette about not knowing Ladybug and Chat Noir's identities, and not speaking up in Ephemeral about knowing Chat's identity, even though it was pertinent to Ladybug's plan (I wasn't too happy about that plan, but it's not relevant here), seem like the inspiration for Luka's whole "stay quiet about what I know because if I rock the boat it could cause harm" stance in your fic. The show didn't really make it clear why Luka made those decisions, but through your Luka's actions, I can better see what might have been going through Luka's head in the show.
My own feelings towards Luka have always been... frustrating. He's a nice, kind guy, no doubt, with most of what we saw of him in seasons 2 and 3 were just him being selflessly enamored with Marinette, but without any of the negative feelings that I'd normally expect from anyone who's pining over an unrequited love. I can sort of see why he was popular for that - he's about as unproblematic of a dream boyfriend as you could get - but I just couldn't look at his depictions and reactions in the show and make him into a full person, with his own thoughts, feelings, problems, and complex internal emotional world, especially since he mostly seemed to exist for Marinette. The big standout during that period that helped to develop him further was that 30 second cameo where he interacted with his sister, since it showed his feelings and interactions with someone else he cared about.
I did get a lot more from him in season 4, with him being frustrated and hurt about Marinette vanishing on him all the time, even if he still took it insanely well. I loved seeing that he can have negative feelings for his own sake, not just for Marinette's, and that he has some emotional baggage of his own, with his mom refusing to mention who his dad was. I still have struggled with understanding him at times - like trying to figure out what he was thinking that prompted him to directly lie to Marinette when she asked him whether he knew hers and Chat's identities - but they do show some more complex character traits, even if I'm not completely sure of what they are. Though I like your idea of what character trait prompted him to do that.
Anyway, I'd love to hear more of your thoughts on what makes Luka tick in the show. I don't see many of analyses of him that I agree with - either they're overly negative and ascribe some form of malice or abuse to his actions (which is nonsense, Luka doesn't have a mean bone in his body), or they're overly positive, and put a spin on his actions as being more wholly virtuous than I think is warranted (like the whole "he sacrificed his honesty in Wishmaker because it would freak Marinette out if he answered her question truthfully, he's so selfless, only thinking of what's best for her" thing).
Tumblr media
*cracks knuckles* buckle up breathers and breatheren, it's luka analysis time.
to start off, the show doesn't do the greatest job with consistency. sometimes its own characters will be ooc, especially marinette and adrien. in dearest family, she despairs over stealing galette when she's never had an issue with it before, and adrien dates marinette without telling her is identity in cat blanc (something i really don't think is consistent with his character but w/ever). if you see an inconsistency in my analysis of luka, it might be because of the show's flawed depiction of his character.
that being said, i knew the minute luka learned ladybug and chat noir's identities and decided to do NOTHING that he was an enneagram type 9, just like me. way to put me back on my enneagram shit again. I even have him typed as a 9 in my miraculous enneagram post if you're interested in that.
i liked luka fine in the show until wishmaker, when they finally gave him potential. he then became one of my favorite characters because he became interesting. you look at him on the outside and you see a guy who's easy to get along with, understands everyone's points of view, and will lend a listening ear when you need him. these are what make him such a nice person and probably why everyone in the show likes him. i mean, marinette broke up with him after lying to him for quite some time and still didn't tell him anything, and he comforted her with a hug because he could tell she was going through it. after wishmaker, it is very clear he is afraid of rocking any boat he's in because he's actually really afraid of causing conflict. for luka, conflict = separation (exemplified by his parents' relationship), and if he is separated from people he cares about, he will be alone.
luka is someone who is always trying to make connections with people by understanding them. he likes to listen to everyone's "inner melodies," which i think is just lukaspeak for comprehending people in depth and seeing their perspective. i truly think he gets stuck in other people's perspectives rather than his own, as evidenced by how he refused to speak up about ladybug's plan in ephemeral and how he gently guided marinette to adrien by telling her "knowing the whole other side of someone helped me love them more." it's my opinion that luka thinks he's less important than the people he cares about, and so in a sense "goes to sleep" to his own wants, needs, feelings and opinions. this is why he doesn't tell marinette and adrien the truth in the show, and what i expanded on in odnlb; luka really just did not know what to do, and before he knew it six years had gone by, and he didn't know silence could be so dangerous.
a lot of people said they "forgot" about luka in odnlb until chapter 7, when he was facetiming adrien. i actually really really loved that because it was just so LUKA of him to be forgotten. he doesn't think he's important compared to marinette or adrien, and so he talks to them about their issues and ignores his own need for growth/action. luka's sin is sloth, which might sound like the least harmful of all the 7 deadlies but which i think i've shown can be extremely sabotaging to others and to himself. it's also a character trait i've not seen portrayed too often, but whenever i do the characters are really interesting. those of you who don't have this issue will easily think, "all he has to do is SPEAK." well, that's literally the hardest thing for him to do! because if he does, he's going to rock the boat and lose connection, and that's the thing he's afraid of most.
this was a great ask, @flightfoot! i love all your questions but this has been my favorite so far!

How Hawkmoth should have figured it out:
So, Hawkmoth eventually learns the identities of the occasional miraculous holders, right? What if he was smart and did some research, found out some things about them? Maybe searched for common friends or people in their lives? Common people who would know them well enough to entrust them with a miraculous?
He would list common people, and then eliminate those who have been akumatised. Those left would potentially be ladybug and Chat noir.
I think his next step would be to try and akumatise the people remaining on his list, until he either Akumatises lb and chat, or he only has two people left on the list.
He could even use information from akuma attacks to figure out the links between each miraculous holder.
Like he would know from Silencer that Luka aka Viperion likes Marinette Dupain Cheng, and would already be aware that he knows Adrien from prior interactions.
He would know from his life as Gabriel that Chloe, aka Queen bee, attends school with Marinette and Adrien.
He would know that Alya aka Rena Rouge is besties with Marinette.
He would know that Nino, aka Carapace is best friends with his son, Adrien.
He would know that literally every miraculous holder KNOWS MARINETTE AND ADRIEN.
He would also know that neither Adrien or Marinette have been akumatised.
But no, Hawkmoth had to be too obsessed with world domination to use his brain and win his stupid battle with the fourteen year olds.

What are your opinions on Lukanette, Felinette and Adrigami?
Lukanette
I think Lukanette is a good ship with a lot of potential. Luka is a calm and patient person, which is what Marinette needs to help her get through her chaotic life. Just them being together would already help take care of one of Marinette's problems since it ends all the love schemes.
Plus, on a bit of the practical side, since I'm always looking at that angle if their relationship gets to the point where Luka learns Ladybug's identity, and she gives him the Snake Miraculous like she gave the Fox to Alya, one of the more overpowered Miraculous wouldn't be given to Hawkmoth by Felix.
Felinette
The canon version of Felix I don't ship with Marinette. However, the fanon version that was crafted long before Astruc made his official debut is okay in my opinion. He's basically a more snarky version of Adrien, which is something I can get behind.
Adrigami
Adrigami has potential in an 'opposites attract' type of way. Adrien, who would prefer to avoid conflict, versus Kagami, who isn't afraid to talk back to people like with Chloe. It opens the chance for a lot of growth between the two. Their similar backgrounds also help.
On another practical level, it would get rid of Cat Noir focusing on his love life with Ladybug. Which would improve team dynamics and help open a path for more people to have a Miraculous permanently.
Honestly, the two canon ships that ended in less than five episodes had a lot of potential. I think it would have been better if Marinette and Adrien realized they were chasing shadows, and the love square fell apart so Marinette could date Luka and Adrien could date Kagami. It could have been a cool twist to the show. That's just my opinion, though.

has the show mlb (miraculous ladybug) gone to shit or am I just picky
!!!VERY SALTY RANT UNDER CUT DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT SALTY RANT!!!
I saw season 5 spoilers and I have decided not to watch season 5 because I just CANNOT watch this show anymore without getting pissed off. Hell I've barely even finished S4.
How many fucking times are we gonna have to deal with the shitty writing and bad plot before mlb gets cancelled because I feel like it should've ended like two seasons ago?????
The idea of miraculous (the superhero jewelry) is good but the whole 'we cant reveal the identity!11!!!' thing got old after S2. It genuinely does not make sense because there are steps the heroes can take to avoid Hawkmoth finding out their identity/not get akumatised by him.
There are so many goddamn probelms with Hawkmoth. First he needs to learn how to grief healthily. Second, his behaviour. Not only is he a terrorist but he also neglects Adrien so bad he should be in jail. Honestly if his goal was something cooler like idk, wanting to destroy the world or become a god or something than maybe I wouldn't think he was so fucking stupid. But his wife being in a coma DOES NOT excuse his neglect towards Adrien or his terrorism and it never will. Get a therapist, you're fucking loaded so obviously nothings stopping you. I get that being abusive is part of his character but still upsetting, especially when no one does anything about it.
The characters can be (and most of the time are) SO FUCKING STUPID. Not only can they, for some reason, not recognize each others voices or appearances outside of costume (a tiny ass mask that only covers the area around their eyes) but they also believe every single damn thing they hear (unless its the truth, like when Marinette says Lila lies)
Speaking of Lila, the entire existence of Lila is so stupid. Her lies are so bad that you'd have to be a 5 yr old to believe the 90% of the things she says. The idea of Lila (someone who manipulates people by lying) is good but the execution is TERRIBLE. She should've been debuted way earlier in season one and not constantly forgotten about; she was absent from so many episodes in S2 and S4 (and only appeared in like 8 episodes in S3) I don't think she's should even be in the show or if she is, go to a different school so it would make sense why we don't see her as often despite being such a 'huge threat' with her lying and connections. Honestly if her lies made more sense and she was debuted in episode one then I'd say she could've replaced Chloe.
Speaking of Chloe, CHLOE. Chloe has so much damn potential-BUT OF COURSE, the writers just destroyed all of her redemption progress for no goddamn reason and threw all the potential away. Chloe is a whiny, bratty, snobby, BITCH especially after Heart hunter and Miracle Queen. I would've loved to see her get a redemption arc, but differently than how it had went in Style Queen. It only doesn't make sense how she so easily pushes her father around and makes him abuse his power, surely someone would've been like 'that's illegal actually' but noooo Chloe gets everything she wants. At first I shipped her and Sabrina but quickly stopped because Chloe is so fucking toxic to Sabrina and everyone else.
Shipping is also a problem. The show is also continuously trying to force us to agree that the love square will prevail, but I REALLY DOUBT IT SHOULD.
The love square is a motherfucking MESS. The way Marinette acts towards Adrien (stumbling, being nervous) I can understand but the fact she stalks him and has his entire schedule is so fucking bad. Stalking is NOT OKAY and her behaviour is borderline illegal (breaking into his house). Marinette and Luka had way more chemistry, but because the writers keep changing his age I don't know how I feel about them. Marinette and Kagami also have a lot of good chemistry.
Adrien is also a issue. Not only does he, as Chat Noir, continuously harass Ladybug and continue to flirt with her even after she expresses disinterest, but as Adrien he is so oblivious he's stupid. And also it feels like everytime they get together the world ends (like in Chat Blanc). Even though he is clearly sheltered and neglected he still acts like a creep as Chat Noir most of the time.
Speaking of Chat Blanc, the show uses and abuses time travel. I loved seeing future Alix because shes my favourite character but would've really liked to meet her in a different way, one that didn't imply she had to abandon her civilian life and live in the burrow/time travel place. I also would've liked to see other characters in the future. Also the way we met Bunnyx does not match up to how she becomes Bunnyx in s5 (at least if the spoiler I saw is true). Time travel just never factors into anything. We have multiple episodes where time travel happens and then everyone just forgets about it instantly after. I would rather we have no time travel to be honest.
At the end of the day (and the rant) this is a show for children, probably six year old children. But some of the things it teaches and the amount of plot holes is atrocious. Not to mention how dark it can be like showing Adrien's mother's corpse multiple times.

tell us about the ‘delicate setup’ 👀👀👀👀
okay so BASICALLY it's that from very early on in the series there are three main things that need to be satisfied by the end of the show:
ladybug and chat noir revealing their identities to one another
hawk moth identity reveal (and, by design, his defeat)
love square happen
and the reason this setup is so delicate is because we WANT all of these things to happen (ln identity reveal because it'd be cute and a hugely joyous revelation for each character, hawk moth identity reveal because it'll serve as an emotional climax in adrien's relationship with his father AND inevitably cause hawk moth's defeat, and the love square because they like each other sooooo much and they're best friends and they'd be cute as a couple). BUT! any of these three things happening too early or in the wrong way would also grind the story to a halt. there's massive amounts of tension in this setup, and the only way to resolve that tension effectively is for the things that matter about them to continue. respectively:
the ln identity reveal has the potential to derail the story or end it altogether because the consquences of it are so dire. obviously there's the whole risk of akumatisation thing, which would end the world, as is shown in both chat blanc and ephemeral. so, it would have to happen once hawk moth is defeated, or else something would have to change for both of them (but mostly ladybug) that means they no longer consider akumatisation to be a real possibility/method of extracting the information about their identities from them. so, basically, this one is delicate because their identities being secret is keeping the show from ending, lol. also it'd be nice for the identity reveal to happen when they each view both versions of the other in the same esteem.
hawk moth identity reveal can't happen for, like, a long time. when i talk about this point i'm talking about his identity being revealed to the world as a whole, OR it being revealed to a main protagonist (most likely adrien, but it also could be marinette). the latter will naturally lead to the former. this one is delicate for the obvious reason that if people know who hawk moth is, it's very easy to stop him. boom, major antagonist threat dispelled, show over. ergo, this is the sort of thing that has to happen quite close to the end. the way it maintains its tension is by having the emotional consequences of adrien finding out. this can happen before or after hawk moth's defeat, but the point is that it would fundamentally change the dynamic of lb&cn vs. hawk moth forever, and that can't happen until adrien is in a place where he would oppose his dad, or else it'd likely lead him to give up his miraculous or have a breakdown or. both. probably. i mean the breakdown is kinda inevitable but itd be worse if he's just defeated his dad in battle ygm
simply put, the love square would be boring if it went canon now. with the exception of ladynoir every version of it has either a bunch of awkwardness or a lack of romantic feelings one way or another (i mean, debatably that's also true with ladynoir). there's induvidual development that needs to happen (marinette getting over her flusteredness, learning to delegate responsibility, chat learning to stop projecting his insecurities and Both of them need to stop putting each other on pedestals) before the love square can go canon because otherwise it'd literally be the most trite middle school ass relationship in the world. yeah, they need to grow up a bit before they can be together, and the reason it's delicate is because pining shenanigans with secret identities just Are tense, but the only way it's worth something is if the eventual relationship is actually compelling
so... yeah. hope this makes sense. i started writing it about 2hrs ago and then got distracted </3 i could talk about this forever actually and it gets way worse when i bring alya, master fu and luka into the mix fjsjxjfjjxxjj

Gabrilw fucking die challenge
Have adrien confront his father directly for cathartic reasons not realism
“Standing up will not solve everything “ duh. Get my boy out of there
Chat noir new special abilities?
Midnight sneaky stealth power (to go with night vision)?
Unlimited time & power usage (adult standard)
Unbreakable miraculous bond - fusing (ring can’t be taken; he can use some power while not transformed)
call this a super secret safeguarding measure for extreme risk situations.. also need to. Keep the balance with lb, can only sustain a certain amt tension before effect bleed ?
Either we come up with alt lore for the rings or we ignore them cuz fuck sentiA. Also the peacock ……..
In order to prevent the possibility of Adrien getting Akumatiaed/ to preserve his clear thinking.
Finding Emilie in the basement and Gabriel is hawkmoth have to happen separately or at least not under pressure.
Adrien should have time to process the information before getting other people involved.
Who should get involved and in what capacity ?
Nino
Marinette(ladybug)
Nathalie
G (apparently his name is placid i.t.??)
Kitchen ‘cleaning stafff
Kagami
Luka
Felix??????
Suhan
Bunnyx
Kwamis
Fromager lol (in the case of secret order of cat)
Legal
Potentially work with max/markov who hacked the power supply , security system in the past , they can surely jig some camera wizardry,
Also, adrien needs to know Gabriel’s secrets before Gabriel knows Adrien’s.
Gabriel only learns chat noir is his son after he has taken the butterfly (and maybe other stuff) from him
Adrien reveals his identity to his father on his own terms; Gabriel is not able to do anything about it. Make it a chip in adriens favor rather than Gabriel’s somehow
Alternatively it could be pretty satisfying for Gabriel to never know. He could die without the knowledge
idk, the moment of revelation “I never really knew him at all?” Could be something
Gabriel should die. At very least, long term he should not remotely in any way be part of Adrien’s life anymore. I do like that his arm gets cataclysm and it spreads like a curse rot that’s a good concept and he deserves it.
Alternatively beat him to a pulp is also good. I support Adrien’s wrongs. HOWEVER, it’s not good for adrien to be used as a tool to kill his father without knowing it’s his father, (and then realizing it later) That kind of guilt for him to bear seems maybe not necessary.
But then the “what have I done” type pain can be pretty interesting to watch
flightfoot: Gabriel deserved it, but I hope he’s healed at some point. Adrien doesn’t deserve to feel like his father’s blood is on his hands. He’s been through enough.
The new poll, fans in favor of eminath tag team with Adrien support + nino , bug also there
Probably best Gabriel’s hubris his own downfall.
How to allow adrien agency in his own freedom and healing BUT not liable for murder etc consequences
Alternatively- canon divergence from the Collector when adrien finds the grimoire
can’t be bothered to give a shit about Lila
Silly/self indulgent to the max!!

I think wishmaker is the episode in which the new location, the île aux cygnes, is being introduced in!
That seems to be the Statue of Liberty's flame behind Marinette

You know what’s really interesting? We didn’t see Bunnyx all season.
Tumblr media
There were so many bad things that happened this season - especially in Ephemeral - and never once did she show up to stop any of it.
So that means this all was supposed to happen…
- Ladybug was supposed to mess up so she can learn from her mistakes as guardian. So she can learn to rely on the partner who cares about her most (Cat Noir). So she can learn why it’s important that she’s careful in who she reveals her identity to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
- Cat Noir was supposed to be pushed away and to ditch patrols and his miraculous so Ladybug could realize how much she needs him. He was supposed to attempt to reinvent himself as a partner (Cat Walker) for himself to understand that he doesn’t need to be perfect to be perfect for Ladybug and who he truly is deep down.
Tumblr media
- Felix was supposed to obtain the peacock miraculous, either to become his own villain, give his mother the miraculous, or gain more control of his life, if he is in fact a senti (no full confirmation yet).
Tumblr media
- Luka was meant to figure out Ladybug and Cat Noir’s identities because it’s proof he can be trusted, and he learned why Marinette can’t be with him.
Tumblr media
- Kagami was meant to see Adrien as this imperfect person, not who she thought he was; why they’re not good together.
Tumblr media
- The other miraculous holders were there to help Ladybug when she desperately needed more than one person to back her up, but to also show that she doesn’t need as much help as she thinks - just the strong help from Cat Noir (and Alya before her identity as Rena was revealed).
Tumblr media
-Most importantly, Hawk Moth was supposed to get hold of the miracle box because it’s clear it’s going to shift the fights between him and the heroes, enough so that it’ll lead to his ultimate defeat. With that being said, we’ll most likely have our new Hawk Moth by the end of the season.
Tumblr media
Despite what you may have disliked in season 4, it was all meant to happen and it’s going to give season 5 a lot of potential - there might even be The Big Reveal in season 5.

I would kill to see Marinette find out about ALL of the worst things Adrien’s done as Chat Noir.
- Threatening to quit while Paris was drowning because her and Plagg wouldn’t tell him secrets that weren’t theirs to tell.
- Adrien only pursuing her romantically after finding out she was Ladybug in “Chat Blanc” and hiding that knowledge from her (btw tHaNkS Alix for never calling him out for that or telling Marinette that happened- she’d have to find a way to do that without compromising his identity but still).
- Him being the cause of Copycat by lying to Theo about their relationship. (Especially considering the Volpina line: “I don’t put up with lies, especially when they’re about me!”)
- Pretty much the entire montage of him on ‘patrol’ at the beginning of “Lies” including being excited about a potential akuma and possibly goading Mr. Ramier into another akumatization.
- Him destroying a chimney in a fit of rage because her and Rena had a “2-person plan”
- Attacking and trying to cataclysm Scarabella ON SIGHT. (I went back and timed it, from the second he shows up on screen to the moment the Cataclysm hits her shield - 32 SECONDS. Breaking it down further it took only 25 seconds for him to activate the Cataclysm, and only 18 seconds to slam her into a wall so hard it cracked).
Attraction to Adrien would die IMMEDIATELY.
Side note, since Mr Pigeon is what interrupted Marinette and Luka’s date at the cinema, and it’s implied Chat helped goad him into that akumatization, I’m gonna go and blame Chat for ruining our would-be Lukanette kiss for that date.
HONESTLY??? (especially that Mr. Pigeon thing; you can’t tell me that there’s no correlation between Chat checking on Xavier and him getting akumatized, even if it was just Xavier going paranoid and overthinking Chat checking on him, like “AM I upset??? He seemed really worried about me so??”)
“the two-person plan” thing is also annoying because it was Rena’s idea!!!
And they either overwhelm her when he does reveal to her (”Chat Blanc”; she almost got akumatized and she’d been dating him at the time, I don’t exactly expect her to think rationally there), literally wipe her memory so she doesn’t think about anyone/anything else (”Oblivio”), or continuously delay the reveal so that all the events will be farther back in the past even if she was to learn about them.
