(This is the only pic of him mostly alone, and even then, it's cropping Darius out. He looks so angry, it's kinda cute)
With Robyn released, I thought I would add in the little lore I have for Vitimir. Hopefully this aligns enough. It should, I did the math. Math is math-ing for this (RIP College math). We'll have to see.
Also, is it me, but does anyone wanna see him without that cloak thingy? What is his leg anatomy? Is it like that all the way to his hips or halfway up his thighs? The world will never know.
Sit down for a while with this one.
Vitimir was born to his mother, in the Potions coven, and his father, in the Construction coven. Both of his parents were very absent in his life, too busy with their work and would sometimes completely forget they had a son. This left Vitimir very lonely and touch starved. Adding in his, then mild, acid breath, he wasn't good at meeting others.
Since he was affected by his parent's absence, he would try to do the most outstanding work in school to get their attention. He even won a First Prize award in a Potions competition, but nothing broke their concentration from their work. However, he was very good in the Potions track and was the top student.
It wouldn't be until he accidentally burned a student with his acid breath that they would turn their attention to him. The student had pulled off his mask and got their hand breathed on. To avoid a lawsuit (do they have lawsuits in the Boiling Isles???), they transferred their son so they don't have this small problem interrupt their work flow. Unfortunately, because of a rumor, Vitimir was outcasted by all of the students.
Except one: Robyn, a Bard student. (What's up with Covenheads x Wild Witches being a Bard and something else at one point?) They would hit it off immediately, especially since Robyn wasn't scared of his breath. He felt bad for Robyn sharing his food each day, but he didn't have a choice. His mother doesn't care enough to send him with food.
Vitimir was the one to find the cave for their studying. Being outside allowed him to take his mask off and they could sit at a safe distance. He would revisit the place in the future for the memories and to brew potions in silence. That would also be the place where Robyn suggested him wearing a hat. Vitimir would take it to heart.
Once joining the Potions Coven at 18, he slowly rose through the ranks. Even with big achievements, his parents still turned a blind eye to him. And with Robyn being a Wild Witch, other witches in his coven were weary of him. His free time slowly grew shorter to the point of being unable hanging out with Robyn. But he made a somewhat friend in the form of a terrifying Healing witch, Hettie.
They wouldn't see one another until years later, and it wasn't a happy reunion.
By the time he was a Coven Head, he hadn't seen or spoken to Robyn in years. Belos didn't name the Wild Witches he wanted captured (and later petrified), so it was to his surprise when he used his acid breath and Robyn's pained voice struck his ears. He was stuck in shock, even as Robyn was taken down by the other Heads and he called out for him. The conflicting mindsets of helping him and capturing Wild Witches hurt him.
Especially the last words he had said. "I thought we were friends! I guess I was wrong". Those words hurt the worst among his yelling and pleading.
Despite Robyn flying off to Titan knows where, Vitimir hoped to see him again. He had a few glimpses of Witches that looked like him, but it was just his mind playing tricks (or the after-effects of a potion he tried on himself). Nevertheless, he continued his work as a Coven Head, believing the paradise that Belos promised to them.
That turned out to be a lie on the Day of Unity. In pain and loosing consciousness, he could see Robyn in the distance, watching them. He preferred that to be his karma for betraying his only friend. The next moments happened so fast. The draining spell stopped, a child was floating in the sky, and he was suddenly turned into a puppet with the other Heads (minus Terra).
After the Collector changed the citizens back, Vitimir reunited with his parents, who had just realized their son is a Coven Head. He rejected their attempt at an apology and sought after Robyn. They avoided him, making him truly feel alone while everyone is feeling safe and happy.
He would eventually get a palisman from the replanted and replenished palistrom trees, and get help from Mason to build a home in the woods secluded from everyone. Well, until he finds Robyn again. That's for later tho. Later.
This boy has baggage and slight trauma, but that's OK. Post-Belos is where he heals mentally. Better make a therapy coven because most of the Boiling Isles is gonna have to talk through all this trauma.

Darius: WHY. Why did you give Vitimir a KNIFE?!

Cutburn: I’m sorry. He said he felt unsafe.

Darius: Now I feel unsafe!

Cutburn: I’m sorry.

Cutburn: ... would you like a knife?

Meet the daughter of former coven heads Vitimir and Juniper - Rasmi “Razz” Jasbay!
They take an interest in transformation magic, using their parents’ knowledge in their respective fields of magic combined with beast keeping to push their limits. Unlike Juniper’s specialty in mimicry where his performance may be convincing, it still remains an illusion, Razz finds fascination in the ability to physically change your own body through magic. However, they are a gifted oracle. Around age 11, they began to experience random visions of the future of people they’re in close proximity to. These visions are not all just one settled future or event in that person’s life, they see different outcomes for people based on small differing decisions the person might make, in a butterfly-effect sort of manner. These visions are strongly connected to Razz’s emotions, but they are unaware of that. This completely messes with their perception and state of mind, causing them to either dissociate or become hypervigilant. Before sleeping, they must drink a special elixir that temporarily drains their magic otherwise they will get flooded by visions, which could send them into a panic attack. These oracle powers become too overwhelming for them to handle over time, so Razz wants to try to find a way to get rid of them through any means necessary.
Razz is an introvert; they appear quiet, but aren’t shy. They have a natural charm to them, and are quick witted and snarky. They have a curious nature. Razz tries avoiding people, but they seem to be a people-magnet since everyone wants to get close because of their family name. They are incredibly antisocial and not at all good with kids their age, so they get more emotional being around them which causes more visions to appear. Not to mention, they are a bit of a nihilist.

…oh my god HOW DID I NOT NOTICE THIS SOONER
While Vitimir’s design is possibly based off of mosquitos and drinking birds (a toy heat engine that mimics the motion of a bird drinking from a water source, you can thank @/stormvanari for that)
maybe their design is also based off of plague doctors?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I MEAN THE SIMILARITIES ARE CERTAINLY THERE.
most noticeably the tophats, the mouth/face covering, and the ridiculously long beak/nose
Along with the beak stuff, Vitimir is also loosely based off of birds too! (see their birb feet)
Tumblr media
And more modern interpretations of plague doctors makes it look even MORE similar to Vit’s design
(Btw i know nothing of plague doctor stuff so idk if theyre also associated with alchemy? Probably not tbh. Theres also a bunch of differences too. Plague doctor outfits are meant to cover all parts of your body. Still, if they were atleast loosely inspired by plague doctors that would be pretty cool!!!)
Edit: also the irony that plague doctor masks are sepposed to ward off diseases with good smells, while Vitimir on the other hand uses the mask to hide their stank breath probably because its dangerous asf. Idk i found it interesting 👉👈

Vitimir HCs for the soul
- Vitimir's acid breath and saliva are a genetic trait from his father's side. His father's breath, however, is much stronger and deadlier than his sons. Perfect to use in the Construction coven.
- Post-Belos, Vitimir tries to find a way to stop his acid breath altogether via potion recipes. It's not going well.
- He and Hettie were friends at Vitimir's old school. When they met up as Coven Heads, they recognized one another and began to hang out. They can only tolerate one another and often insult the other Heads behind their backs.
- Vitimir can hiss and growl like a cobra. He mostly does it defensively and very rarely in general. The Coven Heads learned this when Adrian tried to annoy him about his outfit choices, and Vitimir was extremely sleep deprived.
- When Vitimir was arrested for wanting to take the throne, Darius and Eberwolf had proposed three options:
A. Giving him to Hettie to be used as one of her experiments.
B. Going to jail with Terra and Adrian, also potentially become one of Hettie's experiments.
C. Doing community service by taking over Morton's spell stand under Steve's watchful eyes. eye.
He chose the third one.
- When he received Fang, his palisman, it was one of the first few palisman Hunter had carved under Dell's apprenticeship. It took a long while for Vitimir to find his deepest wish again, so he carried Fang around in his pocket until then.
- He grew up in Latissa, but moved out once he was old enough. Because of his parents, he rarely visits again out of fear of running into them. Post-Belos, his forest home is located about 9 miles north of the town.
- He loves kids, so much so that he wants a little witchling of his own one day. A little sweet flea that he can teach the most dangerous potions to. OK, not just that. Part of it is that he really wants to give a kid a better childhood than he had, and to show that he isn't going to be like his parents.
- Hettie learned this pretty quick when he started venting about his parents one day. She's paying for his therapy.
- When he's overstimulated and/or overly stressed, he gnaws on the bandages on his arms. Hettie has to rebandage them each time and treat any scars he gave himself on accident. She's given him some chew toys to help, but they're destroyed after a few uses thanks to his pointy teeth and saliva.
- Strangely, but thankfully, Hettie found that certain metals can't melt under Vitimir's acidic saliva. A bit of help from Mason gave Vitimir the perfect thing to chew on: a small metal disk on a necklace.
- He desperately wants to go to the human realm, but his appearance isn't exactly something you can disguise. And humans aren't ready for demon realm creatures yet either. So, Luz and Gus would bring him pictures from the human realm and spend the day going over where each one was taken.

methinks that PCH is kinda based on a chemical device called the Drinking Bird, which is a heat device that undergoes a thermodynamic cycle (via a glass equipped with it) that “continue to absorb water and the cycle will continue as long as there is enough water in the glass to keep the head wet. However, the bird will continue to dip even without a source of water, as long as the head is wet, or as long as a temperature differential is maintained between the head and body” (Kiddle).
I’m not a chemistry expert, but because they look sickly, PCH could have a dehydration-like irony and they have to constantly drink to stay alive (can be interpreted as not collapsing on the battlefield, without the death part), despite them yeeting potions around? It’s kinda based on their banner which, while it is just the potion’s doing, it could be an implication to the gimmick mentioned above. It might also explain why PCH has a big backpack on their back, like as if they travel a lot to find ingredients: half of the potions are used to keep PCH alive, while the others are weapons.

I still wonder how tf does potions magic work like - as far as we could see it was simply... boling ingredients in the kettle? Luz didn't seem to use.. ANY kind of magic, but the potion worked.
Tumblr media
I know this mf has some kind of acid breath but it doesn't change anything. I NEED ANSWERS
